I hated the total assination of Andies character in just one episode. They didnt have to throw her character under a bus to make PJ happen. Its like they didnt know what to do with her character if she wasnt attached to Pacey anymore. I really loved Pandie together, still my fav Creek couple to this day (However i do really love PJ too, Pacey was definately Joeys best pairing) So glad they didnt pair Andie and Dawson, i didnt see any chemistry there. I believe Dawson belonged with Jen
They didn't know what to do with her character was confirmed by Meredith Monroe herself in interviews, and she explained it was the reason why she left the show in the beginning of season 4. She wasn't given interesting storylines and her character wasn't evolving. Too bad cause she was the best girlfriend Pacey had, much better than Joey. She pulled the best out of him and he felt real with her, not like a loser. And I agree with you, Dawson belonged with Jen. I will never get it why the producers did not pair them up in the end, instead of killing her ;-(

When I was younger this broke my heart, I seriously loved Pacey and Andie together. Though she did the biggest deed, cheating. I thought they'd be together forever. All that changed when I seen how Pacey's relationship with Joey developed and changed. I know how that is, as I've done it to my own son's father. Something ill regret for the rest of my life too.
As sad as I was that Pacey and Andie didn't last I was really happy that him and Joey found each other. Joey needed to let go of Dawson and Pacey needed a woman that was better suited for him. Andie was a sweet girl but as time went on her character became too unstable.
Did Meredith have issues behind the scenes? The character assassination they pulled on Andie never made any sense. In S2 she is the social conscience of the group all about integrity/hard work and is completely in love with Pacey. Then she's randomly unfaithful, cheats on the PSAT, and almost dies of a drug OD. Ryan Deffley I think they only did that because they wanted us to root for Pacey and Joey and not them with other people, it’s not just Andie, it’s Dawson as well, in season 3 he came across as childish and dangerous, when in other seasons we saw that wasn’t him, they only did that to make us root for Pacey and Joey, and while they were great, i just wish Andie and Dawson wouldn’t have been destroyed in the process, in season 2 Andie made Pacey belive he could do better and be better and strive for something more and Dawson told Joey about her dad even though it was hard and he knew it would cost him things with Joey.

He has always tried to make EVERYTHING about him and constantly got mad when any of his friends had important things going on separate from himself. They really put Andie's character through the ringer in season 3 😵 Between cheating on Pacey, cheating on the PSAT, and making up a story about Rob sexually assaulting her just to get back together with Pacey ( although she never admitted it), her character was literally unredeemable. What was completely out of character for her though was when she took the drug ecstasy that Jen had and then almost overdosed !!!
Have to forgive? That's a pretty big thing to ask of someone after you dropped such a bombshell, that you slept with another person while in rehab. And then, after your significant other has been crushed emotionally, you are expecting immediate forgiveness? I'd be more like Tyreese from TWD, where after Carol admits she killed his girlfriend, he says that he forgives her, but he wouldn't forget that she did it.

i remember when this scene aired and thinking this was so out of character for andie to do that to pacey, The writers clearly wrote it in to break them up for good to make way for the J/P pairing it was such a shame because I really thought they should of kept andie and pacey together .Plus after this they seemed to further wreck the character of andie

The baddest way of ruining the most exciting love story of the show. They were JUST PERFECT together. Even more than Dawson and Joey, which I love. They complete each other so well. But writers had to force things, they wanted to create an absolutely useless and awful couple: Pacey and Joey. They don't mean anything whatsoever. Their story is SSSSSSSOOO FAKE!!!! And this is one of the reasons why I will always prefer and love the first two seasons of this show.
This was probably one of the biggest mistakes by the writers, then they forced Joey and pacey on us, and it just never worked for me. Even in the finale, the way they treated andie and pacey history was absolutely one of the great errors of a writers room. It should have been andie and pacey in the end joey and Dawson and they should have never made Jack Gay not because I have anything against him being gay but he should have been with Jen but they wrote him as gay because Dawson and his beef with Jack never came across as authentic or visceral and they wanted extreme conflict for Dawson and to them having two men who were tighter than brothers hate each other for years was what they wanted
I remember watching this with my friends and when Andie said so this, after all that Pacey had done for her and all the insanity he put up with, I felt sorry for this guy. Sorry if I am about to offend anyone by saying this but this is without a doubt, a What in the mother F moment on Dawson's Creek. Right next to when Joey hurt Dawson.
Not watched this scene since I last commented on here but still think it was ridiculous the way the writers went out of their way to wreck the character of andie Also pacey had said to her in the last episode of season 2 "you never gave up on me so Im not giving up on you" and then for him to just completely throw everything they had away was unbelievable
I mean they did same with joey and pacey all of sudden pacey completely lose his temper and broke jeoy's heart in pieces and in season 5 both behaved like they never dated each other and never were madly in love each other .
Well she threw everything away first when she decided to have sex with someone else. So he has every right to say efff it. When someone says something like that it's for reasons that y'all gonna be good to each other. He did right he respects and loves himself to leave and she won't get any good shit out of him save it for the next girl who really deserves it. I felt really bad for both of them, especially Pacey. But I also understand why Andie behaved the way she did. She was in mental hospital, didn't know would she ever get normal and then there was someone who had been through the exact same things. So sometimes things just happen no matter how wrong they are. I wish Pacey would have given her secong chance. I felt really bad for Andie.
Yeah but look at it from Paceys perspective as well, he saw the crazy side in her and stayed by her side anyways, he supported her going to a psychiatric hospital to get her help and still stayed and waited for her to have find her in her room looking extremely close with another guy and acting distant once they're together again to finally admitting to him that while he's been there with her through it all she's cheating on him. That has to suck, like he gave her his all for nothing.
As much of a Jacey shipper I am, this scene broke me. Part of me still loved Pacey and Andie very much and wanted to see it work. But it was obvious that he was falling out of love with her and just didn't realize it til after this moment, because if he truly loved her, he wouldn't have fallen for Joey just months after breaking up with Andie. When you're truly in love with someone, you don't fall out of love with them that quickly. Even if you are broken up. I mean look at him and Joey: when they broke up, he still was in love with her. He never truly fell in love with anyone else after her. She was "the one". If Andie was his true love; the love of his life, then he would've eventually got past this, saw that she was sorry and never meant to hurt him intentionally, and they would've tried to find a way to make it work. Which again, before anything happened for Jacey, is what I wanted to see happen because I still loved Pacey and Andie. 💔
And this is how you ruin a character when in the last season that same character was strongly built and everyone knew that they would expect to see an epic future for that character. But no. Bullshit! The writers ruined Andie and Dawson just to force Pacey & Joey into being a couple.
Well it worked!!! Its a dramatic show. Hearts tend to be broken like a show like this. Pacey and Andie were a cute couple. They were sweet and purely innocent and Andie did help Pacey become a better person. But there is no denying that Pacey and Joey became that better couple.

While Dawson was her best friend, Pacey, due to his friendship with Dawson, was there for a lot of her childhood as well. I think, ultimately, Dawson was too close to Joey. He began to symbolize her childhood. She felt like they were holding each other back from growing up. Whereas, Pacey, although part of her adolescence, was removed from it and wasn't seen as someone that held her back. To put it bluntly, maybe Dawson spent too much time in the friend zone.

She was hot as hell, and all my life I've been into older women so I watched just for that - then got hooked. I'm 46 now. Married 19 years, 2 kids. Put aside STD and pregnancy for a moment. I sometimes wonder.... sex is something most humans want, and arguably need. We're wired for it - kinda like breathing. Yet in our society, we may only quench this need with *one* person. Wheras air - we can breath anywhere. Food - we can eat any food. Health Care? We can choose medicines and doctors- multiples. But the act of touching skin, kissing lips, putting one part of your body inside another person..... somehow, SCANDAL! Gotta do it with one person. In a rational state - I sincerely believe this is nuts! Sometimes I look at killings, fights, tension, mayhem and wonder...shit, if people could enjoy sex with anyone. Enjoy food, music, all that shit together - why not? Why are we as humans so possessive and jealous? Again in my rational state - I believe this. BUT in reality...holy shit I'm such a jealous guy lol. I want my Wife only for me, plain and simple .IN my heart - I am jealous and possessive. He did forgive her eventually and kept the friendship with her, he just didn't get back together with her. It does suck because she was scared and not in her right mind when it happened, but at the same time, he had a lot of insecurities issues himself, and Andie had played a huge role in fixing how he felt about himself only to betray him. It's understandable that he wouldn't have been able to take her back, at least not for a very long time. I would like to think that sometime after the finale, Pacey got back with Andie and Joey got back with Dawson.

The baddest way of ruining the most exciting love story of the show. They were JUST PERFECT together. Even more than Dawson and Joey, which I love. They complete each other so well. But writers had to force things, they wanted to create an absolutely useless and awful couple: Pacey and Joey. They don't mean anything whatsoever. Their story is SSSSSSSOOO FAKE!!!! And this is one of the reasons why I will always prefer and love the first two seasons of this show.

This was probably one of the biggest mistakes by the writers, then they forced Joey and pacey on us, and it just never worked for me. Even in the finale, the way they treated andie and pacey history was absolutely one of the great errors of a writers room. It should have been andie and pacey in the end joey and Dawson and they should have never made Jack Gay not because I have anything against him being gay but he should have been with Jen but they wrote him as gay because Dawson and his beef with Jack never came across as authentic or visceral and they wanted extreme conflict for Dawson and to them having two men who were tighter than brothers hate each other for years was what they wanted

I remember watching this with my friends and when Andie said so this, after all that Pacey had done for her and all the insanity he put up with, I felt sorry for this guy.

Not watched this scene since I last commented on here but still think it was ridiculous the way the writers went out of their way to wreck the character of andie
Also pacey had said to her in the last episode of season 2 "you never gave up on me so Im not giving up on you" and then for him to just completely throw everything they had away was unbelievable
I mean they did same with joey and pacey all of sudden pacey completely lose his temper and broke jeoy's heart in pieces and in season 5 both behaved like they never dated each other and never were madly in love each other .

Well she threw everything away first when she decided to have sex with someone else. So he has every right to say efff it. When someone says something like that it's for reasons that y'all gonna be good to each other. He did right he respects and loves himself to leave and she won't get any good shit out of him save it for the next girl who really deserves it. I felt really bad for both of them, especially Pacey. But I also understand why Andie behaved the way she did. She was in mental hospital, didn't know would she ever get normal and then there was someone who had been through the exact same things. So sometimes things just happen no matter how wrong they are. I wish Pacey would have given her secong chance. I felt really bad for Andie.

Yeah but look at it from Paceys perspective as well, he saw the crazy side in her and stayed by her side anyways, he supported her going to a psychiatric hospital to get her help and still stayed and waited for her to have find her in her room looking extremely close with another guy and acting distant once they're together again to finally admitting to him that while he's been there with her through it all she's cheating on him. That has to suck, like he gave her his all for nothing.
As much of a Jacey shipper I am, this scene broke me. Part of me still loved Pacey and Andie very much and wanted to see it work. But it was obvious that he was falling out of love with her and just didn't realize it til after this moment, because if he truly loved her, he wouldn't have fallen for Joey just months after breaking up with Andie. When you're truly in love with someone, you don't fall out of love with them that quickly. Even if you are broken up. I mean look at him and Joey: when they broke up, he still was in love with her. He never truly fell in love with anyone else after her. She was "the one".
If Andie was his true love; the love of his life, then he would've eventually got past this, saw that she was sorry and never meant to hurt him intentionally, and they would've tried to find a way to make it work. Which again, before anything happened for Jacey, is what I wanted to see happen because I still loved Pacey and Andie. 💔

Well it worked!!! Its a dramatic show. Hearts tend to be broken like a show like this. Pacey and Andie were a cute couple. They were sweet and purely innocent and Andie did help Pacey become a better person. But there is no denying that Pacey and Joey became that better couple.

While Dawson was her best friend, Pacey, due to his friendship with Dawson, was there for a lot of her childhood as well. I think, ultimately, Dawson was too close to Joey. He began to symbolize her childhood. She felt like they were holding each other back from growing up. Whereas, Pacey, although part of her adolescence, was removed from it and wasn't seen as someone that held her back. To put it bluntly, maybe Dawson spent too much time in the friend zone.

She was hot as hell, and all my life I've been into older women so I watched just for that - then got hooked. I'm 46 now. Married 19 years, 2 kids. Put aside STD and pregnancy for a moment. I sometimes wonder.... sex is something most humans want, and arguably need. We're wired for it - kinda like breathing. Yet in our society, we may only quench this need with *one* person. Wheras air - we can breath anywhere. Food - we can eat any food. Health Care? We can choose medicines and doctors- multiples. But the act of touching skin, kissing lips, putting one part of your body inside another person..... somehow, SCANDAL! Gotta do it with one person. In a rational state - I sincerely believe this is nuts! Sometimes I look at killings, fights, tension, mayhem and wonder...shit, if people could enjoy sex with anyone. Enjoy food, music, all that shit together - why not? Why are we as humans so possessive and jealous? Again in my rational state - I believe this. BUT in reality...holy shit I'm such a jealous guy lol. I want my Wife only for me, plain and simple .IN my heart - I am jealous and possessive. Maybe Joey should have followed the same rule after the treatment at the Prom at Sea. Verbal abuse like that when you're sober (Drunk is bad as well, yes... so I'm not saying that Dawson's tirade as his Birthday party wasn't bad... but, they all resolved that the same night... and Pacey isn't really a good drunk either) is just as bad as cheating.

Fans hate Andie for cheating, but I have empathy for her. This was extreme situation where woman was losing her mind, didn't know what was happening to her, was scared as hell and then there was someone who was experiencing same things. I can forgive her. Besides they were 16 year olds. I wish Pacey could have given her second chance. Frankly I think she deserved that.

He did forgive her eventually and kept the friendship with her, he just didn't get back together with her. It does suck because she was scared and not in her right mind when it happened, but at the same time, he had a lot of insecurities issues himself, and Andie had played a huge role in fixing how he felt about himself only to betray him. It's understandable that he wouldn't have been able to take her back, at least not for a very long time. I would like to think that sometime after the finale, Pacey got back with Andie and Joey got back with Dawson.
