Don't forget that Hopetech habs usually have a few passenger slots no matter what they are. Stroud ecklund gives you a workshop with a research lab, that huge cockpit from nova has staircase and connect to two different levels. Oh and an honourable mention to Slayton, probably the most memorable component manufacturer thanks to those sleek and awesome engines.
It's worth noting the ship builder you can build at outposts has the largest collection of all the parts in the game, with the exception of some cockpits, habs, and oddly 2 Deimos structural pieces
its missing the nova landing gear aswell. and neon has the best weapons. edit i also think that under style of the nova is the best to use. 4 thrust and can attach to top and sides.
From what I understand that inventory expands based off items you buy from other ship vendors, so in theory you can eventually get all modules and parts at your own outpost so you don't have to travel every time. It'd be awesome if you could buy licenses so you don't have to buy each individual part, like 20k or something depending on the manufacturer.
I actually fell in love with Deimos the first time I found the shipyard, the dude that handles the sales really sold me. They have a very military feel to them which I absolutely love. The first ship I built was a heavily modified Econohaul that i upgraded to 5000 cargo and made with a mix of Nova and Deimos parts. But as soon as I met the guy at Deimos Shipyard and he told me about his experience flying the Longsword I immediately bought one on the spot, modified the shit out of it, and turned it into fuckin beast. I kept the overall design style very similar but added on 2 extra dual engine modules under the tail fins, swapped out the reactor and shield for C class, upgraded the cargo from 200 to 2500 with slim profile cargo pods so it doesn't really change the look very much. Added 6 auto beams, 4 standard beams, and 3 EMs. Painted it black with dark Metallic olive drab and gold accents. The thing is sexy as fuck 100 manuvability and dogfights like a F-14 Super Tomcat, can blow up any ship in seconds or disable it in seconds for boarding. I love it so much I don't fly anything else but I am in the process of building some starwars inspired ships just for fun

For my own research, I'm tagging the largest cockpits for max assigned crew stations and other stats. Deimos(8!): 1:47 Nova(2): 4:16 S/E(4, 4, 6) 8:32. Now I have to redesign my toad looking ship that had the Nova 2 level cockpit with the Deimos bridge that has the max crew you can assign. Gotta get all the ship buffs!
Not started ship building as yet, (slow starter) but this is the information that should be available from the game menus. You have done all the hard work for Bethesda. They should pay you a million credits. Great video 👍
Time to annoy you with the outpost again. All structural parts are available at your outpost. The hubs, cockpits, brides and some exclusive parts and weapons are not available there. But the vast majority is there for you. This video is still very helpful
For my habs, I've been content just adding two all in one berths to add to my passenger count and keeping my mass low so I can add more structures and make it look cooler. The biggest thing is keeping storage space low but I don't like getting lost in my own ship anyway. I just store all my resources in the Lodge and do all my crafting there.
I didn't realize there was that Stroud-Eklund shop in Neon. I always just made the trip to the shipyard in the Narion system. The one in Neon will make things way more efficient, avoiding the trip, and docking loading screens. And then having Taiyo in the same spot. But so far, Deimos is still my favorite overall. Almost everything on my ship is Deimos, except for the landing gear and landing bay.
Deimos's bridges are absolutely top of the line, 8(!) crew assignments, high cargo capacity, and the second-best design other than Nova (I like Nova's big window better than the window layouts of any of the other ones). Everything else, I go Taiyo, Stroud, and HopeTech as my go-to module manufacturers.
I went here too... can anyone confirm that the showroom in Neon that he's showing in the video has all the unique pieces offered at the shipyard in Narion?
Great information! Wish i'd known about Taiyo being in the Ryujin building. That underside dock ring would have saved me a lot of headaches involving ladders.
Some notes about the Spine and Connector hab parts, they seem to force spawn doors on the parts they are connected with so if you want to simplify the pathway within ships (I.e. making a long linear hab corridor), they are very good for that.
They can also force a no-ladders setup if you use the Cabot C4 Bridge _and_ you use the connectors to keep hab pieces from stacking. There are also some situations where even stacked, the connectors will take precedence and prevent the ladder from spawning. This happened to me when two habs were overlaid on the Deimos Mess Hall and had two exits each connected to spines/connectors. The upshot of this is that you'll never have to use ladders outside of boarding situations. The negative is that you may end up with long-ass corridors blocked by 2 or more NPCs.
The first big ship I made used a mix of 1X1, 1X2, and 1X3, and i made it a U shape with the cockpit on top and at the back of the U, and the docking module and ground exit were all central as well, it served me pretty well
You should have mentioned, that the Nova cockpit is the only one with stairs, so only with this cockpit you can realise a ladder free 2 story ship. And the Overseer cockpit from Hope is only accessable from the bottom, so you need a ladder for it.
Note that there are some unique components on the Key if you do the UC Vanguard quests, specifically the scan jammer can’t be found anywhere else. It has shielded cargo, too, but you can find those in your outpost vendor.
Just a heads-up, last I checked, the Stroud-Eklund Mess Hall’s galley was bugged, in that it eats your resources and doesn’t give you the thing you crafted like a broken vending machine.
Very high caliber walkthroughs. The best I've seen for Starfield, and I've watched many. The only thing is I want to start speaking with your accent when I'm done. ;)
To each their own, I guess. Taiyo is nice for creating some sleeker builds, but I honestly prefer the HopeTech and Nova cockpits and the Stroud-Eklund and Deimos caps and cowling. I made a very sleek "stealth fighter" build using mostly HopeTech parts and a couple of Stroud-Eklund front caps. Taiyo's loading bay is choice, though, fully agreed there.
The HopeTech cockpit gives a WW2 bomber feel, and the darker interiors of HopeTech habs make them feel like the inside of a submarine. Ireally dig the vibe.
Awesome video with layout. Thank you very much. My only sadness for tiayo is that the interior of the habs is the same on all top bottom or center mount versions. Ex: top, bottom, and midd mount armory hab is identical for all with only exterior aesthetics being a change. Course I know its the same for cockpits with only the mass and cargo area really changing. Otherwise, love it.
Very good comparison for all the parts and where to find them. Could you maybe, create a video that shows the interiors of some of the main components to get a glimpse of their looks? Like cockpit, landing bay and some of the habitats. I think many of them will look very similar but the differences in the companys color and design styles might be a point of decision.
Check out DeLindsey Gaming, they've been doing vids that give you an interior showcase of each brand's internal look; each vid covering a different hab, and he details his thoughts on them, and what details get nuked when a door or port hole is attatched.
it definitely depends on the ship I'm building, I actually like shroud for a sleek aircraft carry-type looking ship I made thanks to alot of the design pieces and the landing gear + structure pieces and landing bay it looks more uniform especially from the sides.
The Hopetech unique cockpit is really cool. It is the only cockpit with an entrance on the floor, and it only takes up a 1x1 space so you can build on both sides and above it as well. It looks like a mech cockpit when you build it in like that. Very good vibe for a fighter ship.
You could've added Red Mile in Porrima. It's the only place to get shielded cargos and signal jammers (which is not something a lot of people know about). They're all used for contrabands in your ship.
Well, the Red Mile is an alternative to joining the pirates. Or stealing ships from either the Pirates or the Trade Authority(yup, as these guys deal in stolen goods they have scan jammers on their faction ships). But if you want the combat boosting pieces I believe you have to join the Pirates. IIRC they speed up target lock and missile performance.
I bought the Narwhal early, and have rebuilt it a dozen times. I really like Taiyo parts. What would be awesome is if when selecting a hab, it showed a floorplan. Also, if there was a part like the equipment plate that forced connections.
Yeah, I have definitely gotten tired of having a memorize the layouts of various habs from different manufacturers. I love my narwhal, beyond swapping out a couple of the habs for different styles. I don't do too much to its internals. I like to switch my captains quarters and lab for deimos armories to have the storage space.
@wesleygay8918 I got the Ekland living space because it's rather fancy and the lights are cozy. Then I never go in it. Lol. Making a nice home for imaginary crew.

@@meat-hook see, I try to do that with the jetpack, but since switching to a skippack I just can't get the boost velocity, and even when I was running a power pack I was always clipping into the bulkheads to where I couldn't properly jump to the next level or the right level. If the game would add an ability to grab onto a ladder while you're in midair, I would be golden
Granted, I'm not sure about how stock changes w/leveling, etc., but I found some great engine options that I hadn't seen elsewhere at Gagarin Landing in the Alpha Centari System... Thanks for the exploded views... cheers, o7
The thing that confuses me about ahip building is that i do not know what the ideal storage is and how it much effects the agility or speed of the ship. Do you have any numbers on the ideal build or once you get to a high level does it not really matter?
My first ship I built was heavily modified Econohaul and I upgraded it to around 5000 cargo and still had 70% mobility. Right now I'm using a Longsword that I modified to have 2500 cargo with 100% mobility and its like flying a F-14 Tomcat, but I'm not using any auto turrets currently so I kind of need the mobility. It kind of depends on what all parts you have unlocked. My buddy has a ship that is literally just 2 or 3 layers deep, completely flat, and as long and wide as you can build and just has all turrets so it doesn't need any mobility because since nothing is obstructing the view of the turrets they have full 360 degree firing range and just auto kill everything that gets within range. Personally that seems pretty boring to me, I like to dogfight but thats why you can have 10 different ships to serve different roles depending on what your objective is. If you don't want to fight and just need to haul shit tons of cargo then by all means make it as huge and heavy as you want, and then when you want to have a fun battle switch up your ship.
I thought it was funny when you hear Walter trashing Deimos for their archaic or behind the time ship design while his Stroud-Eklund habitats share the same interior layout, but with different lighting and white floors.
Ah yes, he Deimos slim docker is also my favorite because much like my wife, “it can be top, it can be bottom, that’s very unique, and it’s slim. I cannot find an equivalent anywhere else that can fit my builds…” if you know what I mean 🙃
Deimos is basically what if JJ Abram start a starship company... part military theme, part len flare required. Nova Galactic is basically the Delorean Motor Company, its a dead brand that is bankrupt but there is enough sparepart lying around that you can go to a trader and they can build you a brand new Delorean with the unused parts... :) it look nice but is clearly dated... Taiyo is basically Honda in space. Hopetech is your no nonsense workhorse for your industrial punk vibe needs. "it just work" (tm) but not very fancy... Stroud is your old school american camper. strong passenger ship vibe.
would love to see the hab connections on the cockpits, cause there are a few manufacturer unqiue cockpits that have more than one, like the Nova Galactic that has 2 Hab connectors on one of the Hug Cockpits EDIT: This is also one of the most useful ship compenent videos, or just Information, i've found, giving us the locations and showing the parts neatly, Thank You!
I do like the clean look of the Stroud-Eklund ships, really good if you're making a medical/research ship, but it lacks the lived-in feel I prefer in my ships (and home IRL). Hyper-sterilized environments are not cozy, and feel more like a museum than a home. My parents were the type where we had a room we were not allowed to use outside of having company over, or holidays. Spotless, and felt phony, as if your real living conditions were something to be ashamed of. I'd prefer a messy-yet-honest place than some hyper-sterile place that looks like a showroom floor. I'm probably gonna ditch my Stroud ship and build something cozier. I'll probably keep the Stroud medbay, though, as that you would want to be sterile/hyper-clean.
Man last time I was at Deimos Yard it wouldn't let me switch the slim top docker to a bottom, I'm going to have to go back and double check, maybe I just didn't see a variant option. This will open up a world of possibilities as I much prefer in a lot of cases to have it on the bottom.
You should do one for the weapons and ext… because no they don’t share the parts. Some weapons can only be found at certain locations same with engines and stuff.
I've stumbled upon a random encounter where 2 parties arguing which companies is the best, hope or Stroud. I vouch for taiyo. The woman then called me a taiyo cultist.🤣
The internal ship seller for Hopetown I think is closed for me now. Last time I walked in there the staff immediately started shooting at me. I killed the boss, after he attacked me, in the Freestar faction quest ages ago - and I was able to walk out of there fine after speaking to the 2nd in command. So I thought it was all cool - guess I was wrong. (I have no Freestar bounties on my head as far as I know - I've been playing good cop) So long as I can stiil get the tunnel piece from outside, I'll be OK - I just wish Nova had a longitudinal connector as in addition to their horizontal one. I will try out Taiyo and the Strod showrooms in Neon though.
Yeah, the mass of the HopeTech Spine pieces adds up quickly. For Nova Galactic you can sort of get away from ladders by using the Cabot Bridge. The game will recognize both doors as valid access points for accessing habs. The alternative is to force a single ladder by vertically stacking Companionway pieces.
imagine at this point and time ships are like cars in terms of price comparison and worth. there common enough that theres millions of parts in circulation
I know its irrelevant but I'm committed to Deimos. Every NG+ i find myself right back in their star-yard building my battleship, always wondering why i never choose hope or stroud.
i have a question about Crew in your ship. I got the concept that weap/engine/reactor/shield/skill increase your overall crew max numbers . Then with Habs it give them Slot into the ship like if i have 8 crew numbers but 0 habitat that give xx crew stations i will have 0 Crew at use, adding habs with crew station will give slot for them , like two 2x1 control station will give me 8 Crew station to fit my max capacity according to the 8 i said earlier. Now my Question is do you have to build specific Habs depending on what the crew skill is or it does not matter at all ? Because i see many habs (control station 4 slot - Computer core 1 - Battle Stations 6 - Engineering 1

@@wesleygay8918 lol. Balancing practicality with emerson... the Bethesda curse. I line up my ladders and jump pack up.
Thanks for the exploded views... cheers, o7
You, sir, are a goddamned hero! Thank you! Subscribed in one video!
This is a VERY helpful video. Thank you!
Really wish there is a showcase of each piece and also showcase the interior after showcasing the exterior.
NG8 and got pretty loaded. My favorite manufacturer hangs between nova and deimos
Awesome video thanks for the helpful info!
The thing that confuses me about ahip building is that i do not know what the ideal storage is and how it much effects the agility or speed of the ship. Do you have any numbers on the ideal build or once you get to a high level does it not really matter?
it's possible to play with 0 mobility ship, that's the next ship I will be using 😅
My first ship I built was heavily modified Econohaul and I upgraded it to around 5000 cargo and still had 70% mobility.
@@angryturtlegamingyeah I'm gonna build one like that once I unlock the turrets, hopefully tomorrow
Another awesome video from the angry turtle.😊
I thought it was funny when you hear Walter trashing Deimos for their archaic or behind the time ship design while his Stroud-Eklund habitats share the same interior layout, but with different lighting and white floors.
Ah yes, he Deimos slim docker is also my favorite because much like my wife, “it can be top, it can be bottom, that’s very unique, and it’s slim. I cannot find an equivalent anywhere else that can fit my builds…” if you know what I mean 🙃
Which parts are truly exclusive to vendors vs what's available at your outpost shipyard?
Great overview of the manufacturers!
Thanks, i was looking for the Nova Galatic "Passage/walkthru". 👍👍👍
Great vid.
Yea, love the Taiyo.
thx
S
Shet never knew Taiyo got a shop, time to visit Neon again.
I wish there was a shop where you get all the pieces, not just the common ones
I use stroud-eklund parts because you can make a huge streamline hauler
I like my Honda so I will say it's a valid characterisation for those brands 😅
would love to see the hab connections on the cockpits, cause there are a few manufacturer unqiue cockpits that have more than one, like the Nova Galactic that has 2 Hab connectors on one of the Hug Cockpits
EDIT: This is also one of the most useful ship compenent videos, or just Information, i've found, giving us the locations and showing the parts neatly,
Thank You!
There are a few unique pieces you can find on Civilian Outposts on planets including the best fuel tank in the game.
any specific location?
The stroud shipyard is in Narion, not sure if the parts are the same as the showroom
the same
The Taiyo plates are quite common tbh. At least i run into them at the major staryards.
No mention of the NG Cabot cockpit's special feature?
After you’ve used (purchased and built with) a ship part, can you use it at any shipyard during ship building?
No you can’t sadly. You can buy back parts you sell until you exit the builder though
I stole a class c pirate ship with all nova parts and it's amazing
Another great video. But um.... I could not help but notice your 9,964,082 Credits!!! Woooo!
The outpost maybe can have a all vendor ships. Its more usefull to us. To me Demios and Nova Galact have the best parts.
Nova cockpit = no need to use ladders in ship
i can't wait until an update or mod which has a 1x2x2 stairs section ....
@@-Yogo and the ability to save anytime when in the builder mode
Good morning angrytutle and friends. So glad you're doing starfield stuff.
Very helpful! Thank you! 😎👍
This is very helpful, thanks!
Glad to hear it!
Very useful video! Thanks!!!
Cool video. Very helpful!!!
Which brand is the luxury brand? I saw a picture of a hab with an L shaped couch but I haven't found it.
Man last time I was at Deimos Yard it wouldn't let me switch the slim top docker to a bottom, I'm going to have to go back and double check, maybe I just didn't see a variant option. This will open up a world of possibilities as I much prefer in a lot of cases to have it on the bottom.
highlight bottom attachment point and open dockers
amazing job dude !
You should do one for the weapons and ext… because no they don’t share the parts. Some weapons can only be found at certain locations same with engines and stuff.
I somehow glitched a cargo pod that was supposed to need ship building I to buy. Using up down it let me place things not normally allowed.
really? that would be brilliant. I need to try it
Awesome working!!
(I have no Freestar bounties on my head as far as I know - I've been playing good cop)
So long as I can stiil get the tunnel piece from outside, I'll be OK - I just wish Nova had a longitudinal connector as in addition to their horizontal one.
This is the best parts show I have seen
Crazy how a pack of playing cards is valued higher than some of these structural parts... the starfield economy makes no sense
maybe those are authentic earth playing card, the secrets of their manufacturing has been lost.
imagine at this point and time ships are like cars in terms of price comparison and worth. there common enough that theres millions of parts in circulation
Same with "rare" or "unique" resources, the sell for like a 1-5 bucks
Will review later. Need to figure out which lamders support the most weight
I love going to Titan to get the Cross Passage part.
I know its irrelevant but I'm committed to Deimos. Every NG+ i find myself right back in their star-yard building my battleship, always wondering why i never choose hope or stroud.
I never thought to layout all the available pieces while building a ship.
i have a question about Crew in your ship. Because i see many habs (control station 4 slot - Computer core 1 - Battle Stations 6 - Engineering 1
and where to buy the best reactor and engine ?
You forgot that the red devil for the jamming and sheilding cargo components
