@@TaffPlays Well we all know that it's HIS truck and HE can do what he wants with it. Instead of pointing out the obvious, why didn't you try and explain to @Schiada95 that more than likely Randy looks for vehicles that he can fix up quick and turn for a profit. Also if no profit is made he also has the profit that he is likely going to make from the videos on said vehicle. That money coming in from You Tube , alot or a little, is extra that can make him break even on the vehicle or exceed his expectations and really help turn a profit.
Also the OP didn't seem to be telling Randy what to do. IMHO

Used cars are going for crazy money right now and compact mini trucks that look and run good go for a premium also.

These are great trucks. One of my favorite body styles.
That is not a bad price from what the truck was. In NZ $625 USD will only get you a fender and bonnet painted, this is why most don't paint cars over here. Sounds like a bargain to me.
Every time i see a green fastback Steve Mcqueen comes to mind.
I love the hardbody nissan.. they were really building solid vehicles that era and these were some of the best.
Those little Hardbodies are actually worth some decent money! Book value means nothing on these trucks.
I own a first gen Frontier that has the same hardbody drivetrain but the frame and suspension are beefed up on the Frontiers!

I said it before and I’ll say it again that truck brings back memories, and they are super reliable trucks. The paint job looks good as well.

7:28 just a thought, u could take the instrument cluster out and maybe super glue a tooth pick on that broken needle. it might work.
I would look for a used cluster on eBay or in a you pull yard first. Or even see if the broken needle is inside the thing and glue it back in place.
Better yet, take a tachometer needle from another D 21, or pathfinder and it will work just fine
@@briemosborne7017 'cause they clearly still grow on trees everywhere and somebody will let you tear up a cluster for one needle.

I actually own a 1986 mid year Nissan D21 Hardbody with a Z21i engine. That truck is indestructible.
I love the D21s (and the WD21s by default). They are darn near bullet proof, and near impossible to kill. I had a 91 rwd in my 20s I sold in 2010 that is still running and passing smog in CA @ near 500k miles. Now I have a 92 4x4 I picked up with 100k miles on it that will outlive me!!!
I had an 1986 1/2 Nissan Hardbody standard cab. Bought new, spent 2 years customizing (too much to list), have trophies from truck shows. Miss it, but traded in on an 89 IROC-Z. Also bought a 2 yr old 89 Silverado 1500 standard cab in Black Metallic that someone keyed in a parking lot. Insurance paid but I used Marco to shoot it with Black lacquer for about 500.00. They did an outstanding job on it.

I’ve always liked these Nissan trucks. I’ve had a ‘00 & ‘03 and have driven a new ‘97 and a used ‘08 and there’s just something about them.

Nissan Trucks always grab a good amount of money esp for the 80s style classics. They are just solid!!! Good job I am itching to change out the wheels tinted windows and the rear lamps replaced and shine up the bumper.

Thats a 1967 Mustang fastback.Same exact color too. That was my 1st car. My neighbor had it in his backyard when I turned 16 me and my Dad got it cleaned it up oil tune-up put some Ole CragarSS wheels on it. I was the only gal in high school with a car like that.
I like the wheels and tires on the truck. It gives it that aggressive look.

A good little 5 speed truck is where it's at. These Nissans are all rusted away around these parts. I miss my '91 Ranger 4.0L 5 sp, should have never sold it. I would have loved one of these trucks w/ VG30E engine. I did scratch my 5 speed itch recently and bought a 97 Ford F150 w/ 4.6L.
Something the smaller trucks of the 70's, 80's & 90's give you is max utility, bigger truck beds, in a smaller package that feels like you can park it. That comes in handy.....even in the yard pulling bushes out or loading mulch into flower beds.
I ordered two made in Taiwan tail light assembly's labeled OEM from Amazon. They were better quality than the stock ones, very pleased.
You know sometimes you can get lucky by popping the Caps on a battery and adding a teaspoon of epsom salt in each cell put it on a light trickle charger for 24 hrs. I have done that to several really old batteries and some have lasted for years ! Some not. But it's worth a try and can save you buying a new battery.
I have a 95 hardbody. It’s my daily and work truck. I cruse at 75 for hours on end with no issues. I have the KA24E

I recently bought a 95 xe v6 pickup. Bought it as a work beater but I’ve recently begun restoring it. I love this truck. The Nissan hardbody pickups were definitely built to last.

a big problem with the Hard Body was the famous bent Speedo/Tack needles,, I found a repair guy on ebay who rebuilt my unit for $$100 beautiful new needless that are finally straight.....nice ride...

Awesome love knight rider also,but I'm more of a fan of the 3rd gen camaro, but I actually prefer the pontiac dash lol..,and thunderhead 289 is awesome.. I actually used to own a shitt brown metallic 78 gmc high sierra k15 longbed nicknamed swiss cheese by my friends in highschool.. my truck is similar paint condition but has rust and is two tone onyx black top and bottom and quicksilver in the center running down the side of the truck and has Z71 off road on the bed,but it will cost me probably $1,200 atleast getting it painted, but first it needs a better set of front fenders and a different bed I'd fix the little bit of rust over the rear wheels if the inner bedsides weren't ate out with rust, and needs rockers and cab corners welded on..so it'll be awhile.,oh and weird beard mike's daughter has a project truck similar to the nissan hardbody truck Randy sir..

I had a regular cab like this. Paid 500 but trans was bad. I paid 100 for a trans and drive this truck for 2 years with no problems. Sold it for 1200 and wish I’d kept it. I don’t see how they can paid a vehicle so cheap. I can’t even get the materials for that

The 1965 Corvair is painted Evening Orchid. It was a one year only color used on Chevies. I loved it! Pontiac used the same color again, only in 1965. Pontiac called that color Iris.
I love it when you have them painted. It is always night and day. Keep doing what you are doing.
I had a truck like that but mine was a 4by4 shot bed I loved that truck
Orbit blue the color...had one 1988, my nephew has it now 400k on it. Need one to drive back and forth to work.

I bought a 1990 Nissan Pickup about a month ago for $1500. Runs great, but needs work (rust, dash, needs some patching). Good to see these little trucks sticking around. Hopefully you get a good price.
Saved another one. It's amazing what Macco can do for $625 dollars. Some lucky buyer is going to own it and drive it with pride.

I know you don't like the wheels on the Nissan but people love that and it's an eye catcher. Also why isn't the car dealer get a shot at the truck instead of waiting for the auction like everyone else? You said he wants it for personal not business!
Try putting some tape/pinstripes. Always adds value for cheap.

The 2022 C8 Corvette actually will have very similar brown colour option as that camaro, its called caffeine brown. The Lil' Nissan turned out great!

These trucks were always ultra cool reminded me of the Tonka toys of my youth. Agree Randall should be a good score I'm thinking you should get back your bucks easily. Yeah, wheels I would have left but thats the fun part of your job you get to do within reason what YOU want, not what everybody else wants.

Question: you send nice vehicles to IAA but 2 vehicles you've picked up have damage from after you've purchased it at least that was not evident in the pics. What if someone buys this or the Tiburon or ... from IAA and IAA damages it through their mishandling?
Then someone owns a damaged vehicle
