Love your channel, your style, and Monty!! I used to be pretty good at dressing myself, but after being in mostly scrubs for years, and gaining some weight, I feel lost when it comes to style!! You have helped me so much!! Though, I am still a bit lost as to my body type....lol!!
Just ask yourself, where do I put on weight and this is the most reliable way of knowing your shape but remember you can be a mix of shapes, most people are. If you put weight all around your bust and shoulders and maybe your tummy area too then you're a combination of a strawberry and an apple shape. To be honest, i'm trying to get people to think more about balancing out their figures rather than worrying about what shape they are. You can always send me a photo with an idea of where you put your weight on and i'll have a look at it for you x

Feeling inspired! Anyone from ON, Canada have experience ordering from River Island? It says within 21 working day to Canada but 4-7 to U.S. Doesn't seem to make sense the turnaround would be that different.

I get it and a very rarely show items at that price point but my audience varies dramatically budget wise and I get emails all the time asking what designer pieces I’d invest in so I thought it was about time to show a few of them. It won’t happen very often though!

I feel the exact same way. I’m always a bit surprised at the amount of money some people will spend on handbags, but will primarily shop at Walmart for clothing. Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate a good designer handbag, but I get more band for my buck by investing in my everyday clothes.

Not sure if you’ll see this but it would be useful for this summer to see examples of what you’d wear if plus size and not comfortable showing top of arms or legs (so shorts, playsuits, strappy dresses are all out). Are there any shorts that suit larger women more than others? I always feel awful in shorts!

Thank you, I always get good ideas from your videos. Could you make a video of what shoes to wear when you have to do a lot of walking? I’m always running around after the kids and also shopping and carrying things, so need properly comfortable footwear that doesn’t fall off (trainers mostly ) but it doesn’t really look very chic. Have you got any advice for busy mums?
Most of my videos cover shoes in someway but generally speaking i'd say a pair of trainers, loafers, sandals and small heels, all in similar colour ways - that should do you for everything. x
I love your advice to choose silver or gold jewelry and to just buy a quality necklace and bracelet and be done. No need to buy tons of different jewelry. I love keeping it simple.

Would like to know your thoughts on dungarees? As there quite popular at the moment, I've seen them in a few shops but I'm guessing as you haven't featured them in any of your videos, your not a fan? I wear a pair of dungaree shorts to walk Monty in most days! As to whether they look good, then it depends on your shape. If you've got a bit of a tummy to hide then they can be great but if you've got a really big tummy and you're broad on top with very skinny legs then they can make you look very round and 'lollypop' like!

Hello. Often when you see me in trousers on the video they're sample pairs that i've been sent and often these have to go back to the shops so they probably look longer in the videos than I actually wear them myself. If its my own pair of trousers then I usually wonder web the hem to the right level (its an iron-on thing that takes up your trousers). I do this by firstly selecting the shoes that i'd want to wear with them and then taking them up to that height. I also don't wear very high heels so my platform trainers and my kitten heels are very similar heights so this allows me to swap easily between the two different styles.

I have some Monica Vinader necklaces but sometimes I put them on and I feel it makes me look bigger…. Chokers are a big no but still if I have them a bit lower I sometimes think it’s not flattering on me… 😢
If you've got quite a thick neck and not much space between your shoulders and your chin then yes, they can make you look bigger. Instead wear a long pendant style of necklace that will elongate your neckline and split the neck up making it look slimmer.
More great tips. Would love to someone with my body shape styled. I’m 5ft 7ins, slim build, size 8 - 10 with a size 34G bust. Summer dresses in particular can be a challenge, particularly if you’re not a frills and flounce type person. Right. Let me go and spend money again. 😁
I've got a lady with a GG chest coming up in the next video if that helps. It's very hard to get models to everyones exact specifications as everyone wants something slightly different so the best thing to do is watch a couple of videos (for example, episode 4 of the body shape master classes was a 5ft 7 lady) and then episode 8 that's going up a the weekend will have a big chest. Then just combine the information together. I hope that helps!

I was there in London the first week of June (we didn’t know about the Jubilee when we booked the trip 😂). The cooler weather was a nice break from southern US heat. I felt good about the clothing I brought, because I was able to wear layers and felt good. Then we got to Paris. It became warmer as the week went on. I brought J Crew Bermuda shorts and several different tops, but too warm for a sweater or jacket. I felt so frumpy, especially when we visited the Christian Dior Gallery. I really need to lose some weight and up my fashion game. It’s tough when you get in your fifties and clothing doesn’t flatter you like it once did. 🙁 My 22 year old dragged me into Liberty London and The Bon Marche in Paris; felt so out-of-place. Needless to say I didn’t even try anything on. I have a foot injury that keeps reoccurring. The podiatrist wants me to wear my Hoka sneakers, but they aren’t very fashion forward. 🙁

Feeling inspired! Anyone from ON, Canada have experience ordering from River Island? It says within 21 working day to Canada but 4-7 to U.S. Doesn't seem to make sense the turnaround would be that different.
I can't comment on that i'm afraid but I do know that Nordstrom in America sells River Island so i wonder if that would be quicker for you?

Loved all the outfits except the maxi dress (lovely on you but long dresses do nothing for me!) and love to see Monty. I feel the exact same way. I’m always a bit surprised at the amount of money some people will spend on handbags, but will primarily shop at Walmart for clothing. Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate a good designer handbag, but I get more band for my buck by investing in my everyday clothes.

Not sure if you’ll see this but it would be useful for this summer to see examples of what you’d wear if plus size and not comfortable showing top of arms or legs (so shorts, playsuits, strappy dresses are all out). Are there any shorts that suit larger women more than others? I always feel awful in shorts!

Could you make a video of what shoes to wear when you have to do a lot of walking? I’m always running around after the kids and also shopping and carrying things, so need properly comfortable footwear that doesn’t fall off (trainers mostly ) but it doesn’t really look very chic. Most of my videos cover shoes in someway but generally speaking i'd say a pair of trainers, loafers, sandals and small heels, all in similar colour ways - that should do you for everything. x
I love your advice to choose silver or gold jewelry and to just buy a quality necklace and bracelet and be done. No need to buy tons of different jewelry. I love keeping it simple.

Wow, thank you! Underwear is tricky on the channel as we get so many inappropriate messages as it is and I really don't want to attract any more of that. That said, I have succumbed to doing a swimwear video so we'll see how that goes and if it's not too bad then yes I can do an underwear one!

Would like to know your thoughts on dungarees? As there quite popular at the moment, I've seen them in a few shops but I'm guessing as you haven't featured them in any of your videos, your not a fan? X
I wear a pair of dungaree shorts to walk Monty in most days! As to whether they look good, then it depends on your shape. If you've got a bit of a tummy to hide then they can be great but if you've got a really big tummy and you're broad on top with very skinny legs then they can make you look very round and 'lollypop' like!

Hi Melissa... I have a question, not relevant to this video, but.... When you wear your wide leg long trousers, like the beautiful Zara ones, how do you avoid the hems from getting dirty and eventually "ragged' from touching the ground? Thanks for this fantastic video. 💜
Hello. Often when you see me in trousers on the video they're sample pairs that i've been sent and often these have to go back to the shops so they probably look longer in the videos than I actually wear them myself. If its my own pair of trousers then I usually wonder web the hem to the right level (its an iron-on thing that takes up your trousers). I do this by firstly selecting the shoes that i'd want to wear with them and then taking them up to that height. I also don't wear very high heels so my platform trainers and my kitten heels are very similar heights so this allows me to swap easily between the two different styles.

Loved the video as usual!! I’m always excited when there is a new video from you 😊. I was just wondering by the way if necklaces could also emphasize a bigger neck? I have some Monica Vinader necklaces but sometimes I put them on and I feel it makes me look bigger…. Chokers are a big no but still if I have them a bit lower I sometimes think it’s not flattering on me… 😢
If you've got quite a thick neck and not much space between your shoulders and your chin then yes, they can make you look bigger. Instead wear a long pendant style of necklace that will elongate your neckline and split the neck up making it look slimmer.

More great tips. Would love to someone with my body shape styled. I’m 5ft 7ins, slim build, size 8 - 10 with a size 34G bust. Summer dresses in particular can be a challenge, particularly if you’re not a frills and flounce type person. Right. Let me go and spend money again. 😁
I've got a lady with a GG chest coming up in the next video if that helps. It's very hard to get models to everyones exact specifications as everyone wants something slightly different so the best thing to do is watch a couple of videos (for example, episode 4 of the body shape master classes was a 5ft 7 lady) and then episode 8 that's going up a the weekend will have a big chest. Then just combine the information together. I hope that helps!

How small are we talking? Most shops do a UK size 3 and some do a UK size 2.

I was there in London the first week of June (we didn’t know about the Jubilee when we booked the trip 😂). The cooler weather was a nice break from southern US heat. I felt good about the clothing I brought, because I was able to wear layers and felt good.
Then we got to Paris. It became warmer as the week went on. I brought J Crew Bermuda shorts and several different tops, but too warm for a sweater or jacket. I felt so frumpy, especially when we visited the Christian Dior Gallery. I really need to lose some weight and up my fashion game. It’s tough when you get in your fifties and clothing doesn’t flatter you like it once did. 🙁
My 22 year old dragged me into Liberty London and The Bon Marche in Paris; felt so out-of-place. Needless to say I didn’t even try anything on.
I have a foot injury that keeps reoccurring. The podiatrist wants me to wear my Hoka sneakers, but they aren’t very fashion forward. 🙁
