Hi...came across your channel..sorta just popped up like an advertisement..lol... Im a company driver(been here many yrs), and was given a 2023 new truck with a Thermo King Tripak Evolution....You are exactly right on, when i heard you say Game Changer..oh definitely...i have had zero problems with it, every 2000 hrs the shop changes all filters, oil, etc. I love the thing, ive had it in all kinds of heat up to 118 degrees n up in Grand Forks area North Dakota this past winter n it was 25 below zero with a 45 below wind chill factor...man it ran like a chanp n of course it cycles the coolant thru motor...the hoses were warm on truck heater hoses i never ran the truck for 24 hrs...it started like it was summer time..no hesitation no drained batteries...i was very impressed...i have like you the diesel fired Espar bunk heater.. everything ran great. Fuel never gelled either. The key to is getting those 2000 hr maintenance intervals done on time. Appreciate ya sharing your video. I cook on my truck to, so microwave, fridge, etc, no issues. My APU has the 120 amp alternator. If they ever give me a truck in the future without an APU im gone.
Awesome information, thank you, and hope things are going well with you. I also checked out your seat...great seat for what I can see...congratulations.
I just purchased a brand new Thermo King APU with every option including solar power panel, upgraded inverter, and 5 year warranty. I have to say i HATE the 1980s Ford escort controller, I mean for real. Its 2021 almost 2022, why are these things not digital? These controllers are HUGE and an eyesore. You should be able to control this thing from your phone, I mean my toothbrush has Bluetooth yet a $15000 APU doesn't? And then they add insult to injury by giving us an AC controller out of a 1980 Ford Escort. Okay, I am done now lol Just found your channel, I like it and I sub'd Thumbs up!
2023 update? How often do you add oil? 1/2 quart at a time or how much? Do you think there are any APUs out there that are quieter? (BTW I'm a BCO too and appreciate your video, thanks)
I’m not sure about quieter or not as loud. My APU isn’t that bad I guess. Regarding the oil, I check almost as often as I check my trucks oil. I don’t have to add oil that often. When I do, I use Rotella oil. Very low maintenance.
I just saw my typo: pay: "apu or not". I've read that some part of the exhaust or something may fail and fumes may enter the cab which could be fatal for a solo driver. I'm thinking cameras to catch the would be intruders. These people are getting more daring.
Great video my friend. Very informative to those of us considering an APU. Just curious, you said it would be like 300 to 500 to add the heating feature. What's involved in that process? I have one of those esbar heaters but I think I would get the heat in the APU also. The esbar seems to have its own problems. I would use the esbar, but if it went down, at least have a back up. Also, if you don't mind, do you have the NTP warranty through Landstar? Mine is still under the 6 month warranty it came with. I will switch it to the NTP from Landstar. Which really only means they do a settlement deduction. Its actually through Gallagher Ins, which is who I have my ins through. Oh well, enough truck talking, enjoy your well earned vacation. We'll hold down the fort when you're gone. Thsnk You my friend
I did change my driver seat. Good observation sir. I’ll do a review of it in the next week or two. It’s an atlas II DLX elite. So far, it’s a decent seat. I want to get a few more miles underneath it and see how Willie does.
I have a electric APU I don’t think it gets as cold as the diesel APU but you can get the filters online they are cheaper and change it yourself go on RUclips and learn how to do it that’s what I did
Thank you for the compliment sir. I am so happy I don’t take business advice from you. That APU is probably one of the best purchases I have ever made. Again thank you.
The evolution is the biggest pile of shit I’ve seen. I have starting problems, it wants to crank but like it’s getting no fuel. It takes 4 to 5 times resetting before it starts. This is the 2nd truck that had the same exact issue. I have a 2022 model now.

Thank you for this review. I work on the TriPac assembly line. It is nice to see someone happy with our work.
Thank you for all that you do. It’s a great product. Its still working perfectly today.
Thank you, by the way I gave you a like and subscribed to your channel. Keep up the good job. Safe trips!
I appreciate you for that. Anything I could ever do to help, feel free to reach out.

Thank you John, and I totally agree with you regarding the controller on the APU. Very ancient! Lol

Hi just found your channel. Can you please give an update on the APU I'm in the market and needing one pretty quickly.. Thank you so much
My APU is still going strong. This is one of the best purchases I’ve ever made.

Thank you for supporting the Channel and being apart of the family. BCO’s got to stick together.
I'd consider a Carbon monoxide detector in any truck aou or not.
Agreed

I chose not to buy the bunk heater because my truck already had one and I haven’t had any issues with it.
I’m trying to service my apu now and I can’t figure out how to get the fairing out of the way
You may have to move that fairing to get in there.
Where did you get that seat? it looks very confortable.
I bought it at the I 80 truckstop in Joplin, Missouri
@@highwaypitmaster thank you.
Good for you what a blessing that apu is. Also did you change your drivers seat?? Enjoy your vacation and family time so important and God bless!!
I did change my driver seat. Good observation sir. I’ll do a review of it in the next week or two. It’s an atlas II DLX elite. So far, it’s a decent seat. I want to get a few more miles underneath it and see how Willie does.
@@highwaypitmaster awesome looking forward to that review
By the way, where did you buy your truck at?...price, and year/model. Thanks again.
It’s a 2017 freightliner Cascadia and I paid $44,000 back in 2021
@@highwaypitmaster awesome! I am planning to get my first truck. I am checking out the Ricky Bros. auctions now that prices are low.

you are correct they don't get as cold. Electric APUs have like a 8500 BTU of cooling and the Diesel APU have around a 13000 BTU
That’s not a bad price
Big $$$ starts with beat
Got into a company that uses the evo on internationals.
The apu has broken within days, 4 times.
I am tired, hot, and very angry
I haven’t had any issues with my Thermo King. Very happy with my purchase.
Mr. Pitmaster, how do like or rate tri pack evolution now. Would you buy it again.
I would rate it pretty High and yes I would buy it again. The system does as advertised.
6 month old video?
You didn’t research Mr businessman. Bad investment
Thank you for the compliment sir. I am so happy I don’t take business advice from you. That APU is probably one of the best purchases I have ever made. Again thank you.
I wanted to let you know that my Tri Pak is still working strong.
