Should have mentioned how bad it was in the summer heat how poorly it kept the truck sleeper cool and the mysterious coolant usage and oil usage not 50 hours after you change the oil and the bad placement of the air breather and it sucking up it's own exhaust and clogging up the filter all the time. The alternator issue is spot on I wasn't even making a month out of them under powered pieces of garbage. And the sheer lack of service centers is mind boggling. If I had to do all over again I would have spent the extra 2 grand and got a tripack
@@MarineTrucker1775 Mark presler my friend just had his removed. (1 year old) an put on his new t680 he ordered. He loves his. He went there and they put many new parts on it while transferring an didnt charge him. Im headed there next week. He quoted me 12 k but thats with SS box an 135 amp alternator. Also with external extra fuel filter. This also includes fabrication because I have full skirts on my t680 an I want to keep it on that side. If you want to see engine look up HARDY DIESEL ENGINES. Micro diesel kubota. Second thing is Dometic Envirocomfort. Self contained. No condenser an lines exposed on back of cab. This is why I'm buying this one.
@@thomaswilson8634 what’s a SS box? And the compressor and all that under the bunk is a domestic? I can’t find any info on that. It sounds pretty great. The larger alternator at 135 amp is great but is it a Chinese knock off or a alternator that can be found at any auto part store. That’s a big deal for me. That Dynasys just went alternators like crazy
You can easily rebuild the alternator. If bearings are good 15 bucks from Amazon 7 screws and change voltage regulator on the back. I have had 2 dynasys gen 1 and gen 3. I did not have the cat engine. Yanmar 5 years this one 1 year so far and just little problems. Plus you can get an alternator from Amazon for 85 bucks.
J e had my Gen 1 for 11 years. The only good thing about it is the yanmar engine. You can't kill it. I change oil and filters at same time as the bug engine a d all is fine. I'm about to replace the alternator for the fourth time when it gets here. The rest of the dystem is a pos. The a/c never worked but the heater not so bad. I now have rooftop a/c that actually keeps the sleeper and cab as cold as you want and it's powered by the generator, atleast that works. By the way, 40000 hrs on that yanmar and still only 1 gallon per 10 hours of use...
Thanks sir I was thinking about get one from boomer diesel Oklahoma but now I change my mind. How about batteries power thermo king is that works good let me know thanks
I had the battery thermo king on my kenworth. In my experience it was horrible. You’d be lucky to get 7-8hrs. Idling your truck or driving is the only way to charge them back up. I have some potentially awesome things in the works regarding APUs. I only make videos most of the time when I have content that will help others. So stay tuned!
Boomer diesel sells other brands and is also a green APU facility, I bought a low hr pull off dynasis from Boomer just because I didn't have the 12,000 plus to get a green apu but that will be on my next truck, this dynasis blows cold out the vents and does great overnight but in the heat of the day it keeps truck with front black outs around 80 degrees in 105 outside temp.
They are low amp Chinese alternators. Not large enough or built good enough to handle not only the APU its self with AC and generator but to run accessories forget about it basically. You can upgrade to the 120 amp alternator that’s American made and you’ll be good to go. Take the alternator off and find the correct size, bolt on pattern and correct pulley which isn’t hard to do and install. Sometimes you can find the alternator and take off the pulley and switch it out.
I have the 3k its one year old and is the biggest waste of money I have ever spent total junk belts fans all kinds of stuff has gone wrong muffler bracket broke within 2 months
The Dynasys over all was a big regret for me. People have trashed me for talking about the issues I had. I feel when you spend that kind of money for a piece of equipment it should perform and be well built. Dynasys wanted to partner with me when they were coming out with the 3K but I couldn’t do it. The only difference between the 2K and 3K is the compressor is twice as large and you have a different control box. It’s physical buttons rather then touch screen. I replaced fans I couldn’t count how many times. Belts would shred and chip after 50-100 hrs. The alternators were going out constantly every 200-300 hrs the warranty on that Chinese junk was horrible. The service centers are absolute scam artists. Dynasys as a company is junk. I’m sorry you spent your hard earned money on that APU. Have they been fixing it under warranty by chance?
“Crying about”? Good for you buddy. I’m glad you haven’t had the issues I had. Next time you try to insult someone cool guy, learn to spell and proof read your comment before posting! “I’ve had mud Dynasys APU” 👍
I haven’t but I’ve heard mixed reviews. But all APUs have issues, at that point its luck of the draw on the unit you get. I have a new gen Cascadia that I’m looking at getting the Green APU put on. I also have a ‘23 peterbilt that I purchased a tripak evolution. The tripak has been good but I’m over all not a big fan of it. If I get a green apu ill be sure to make some videos on it.
Totally Agree.
I don’t know anything about this stuff, but Im supporting anyways 👍🏻

Green apu in Illinois. You will be totally impressed
How much is it new and installed? I’ve been trying to research it? The BTUs at 26,000 for AC compared to the thermoking at 7500 is insane!

@@MarineTrucker1775 i believe its a dometic marine version. The alternator is a Delco. The belt is a common automotive belt. SS is stainless steel.
So did you get it installed? What are your thoughts on it thus far?

It was a kubota
