A friend of my father named Mike Novotny from Minnesota developed a Kubota diesel powered APU in the 1980's. I wonder if he is the original developer for this.
Yeah, I'm real happy with my Green APU! I'll stop in there someday when I have time to meet some of the people I've dealt with. They are good people to deal with.
I believe you commented on the poll that I had posted a couple of weeks back. I was kind of laughing because I already knew what I was getting at that point. Lots of good referrals for them.
@@TruckinwithTBone My only "gripe" with it is that the temperature sensing is too touchy. Can easily bounce between AC and heat. I use a small $20 fan I bought at Wally World that blows a very gentle breeze towards the controller which is near my head so it helps circulate the air in the sleeper. They may be able to increase the deadband between heat and cool like you can on a digital thermostat.
@@TruckinwithTBone Yeah, but before I do that I want to hang a digital thermometer and monitor the actual temperature. That way I have real data to work with and to suggest a proper setting. Mostly it's when I'm sitting at my table and starting getting a chill so I bump it up causing the heat to come on, or visa versa.
I have a retired us express spec ed tractor. Its a 72 inch sleeper. The othe brands said not enough wheel base to install theirs. Green apu had me measure (with pictures) the available space. They mentioned they had in house mounts that were multi placement. That they would do the if possible install at their main facility. It worked out. 10 months going... They explained the possibility it might not happen.but to have realistic expations. Very rational folks. Even had me test run in my truck over night so i could test it out and ask questions in the am. Im certain they are customer focused. Second to none.
literally can't go wrong with Green APU. Unmatched product quality, NO PROPRIETARY parts and easily locally sourced and NEVER a national backorder on anything!
Have you had any problems with the unit and how do you like it. I’m going in about 10 days to get my unit installed. I really like the video maybe you could have shown the control panel and how they plum the heat and ac into the vents and duct work . Keith
@@keith3969 I haven’t had any issues with it. It’s been great so far. There’s a couple of quirky things with it vs. the Thero king but nothing that would keep me from buying it again. Been meaning to do a review since I’ve had it almost 6 months now but been crazy busy.
Hello, you would have to call for current pricing as sometimes they also run specials. Yes they do offer financing. Ask for Eric or Dottie and tell them I sent ya.
No sir. The one in Lemont, IL is the main location and headquarters. They have service providers all over. You can find a list of providers on their website at greenapu.com
@@TruckinwithTBone Certified installers in nearly every state, but the service can't be beat in Lemont, plus an additional discount if installed in Lemont
A company I went with told me they had just officially dropped Thermo King APUs. They said they'd rather pay for the fuel for the trucks to idle, than deal with their APUs any longer.

Sounds awesome!! 💯
Do they charge your cranking batteries while running?
@@dieseldawgzdriverslounge yes they do.
How much everything cost the APU and installation?
@@onelifenoregrets2913 you would have to reach out to them for the most current pricing. I can tell you it was much cheaper than thermo king.
Great video....go green APU
I have a green and it keeps overheating and shuts off any idea as to why.
I do not know without more details. I would just give them a call, they are good people and seem eager to help.
They are a very noisy unit and wake up everyone in the entire truck stop when they start up and run.
how much did it cost and does they do finance?

Yup, thermokings reputation is exactly why I did NOT go with them. That and their lack of customer service and parts availability.
