    Gotta love the caves. Good luck with the camera situation. I left my job as a company driver because of it. We couldn't even have wireless headsets. Would even be criticized for touching the radio and drinking while driving. So I quit. My decision it is what it is.

    It’s an old limestone mine to build the interstate system.
    That’s one of the bigger ones as far as able to move around. There’s one in Kansas City that is almost impossible to maneuver in.
    But I always love the caves.
    I know that you can park at your yard, but drivers passing through and needing a place to sleep, the parking lot at the top is always open and you don’t have to check in.

    Oh and I’ve kept my opinion to myself when it came to dropping a trailer.
    I was taught back in 1987 to drop the landing gear about 2” from the ground. That was before I had air ride, but I never changed it. If the tractor doesn’t squat, you might high hook the trailer. If you don’t feel the tractor squat, air down and put a 2X4 on the 5th wheel (breakdown, my fifth wheel is flat). Air up and crank up the landing gear. But that’s just me, I’m Gimpy Express.

    • @RunningOTR
      @RunningOTR  4 месяца назад +2

      True I got you makes sense it’s better to have to use pressure to get under a lower trailer rather than over shooting the 5th wheel or smacking the reefer unit on the sleeper 🤝

    There is a mountain cave in Branson that’s 164 feet underground and 3 million finished sqft where Springfield underground is about a third of that size I think. It’s all dug out, typically they are old mines but people keep on digging and they end up with a bunch of server farms in them and records retention. What you can’t see if that facility is what would really blow your mind. What I haven’t seen would blow my mind. I had all access to Branson but not Springfield as they have a lot of federal government assets in Springfield Underground.

    Yeah those sensors are going to lead you “alert fatigue” something that cyber security folks deal with way too much. You get to the point you start to tune them out mentally and then the alert gets ignored when it’s really needed. They need to fix that ASAP.

    Those date back to when USA & Russia were about to go to war. Those were bunkers for the civilians in the midwest to go to to take cover. Google them. There's a missile silo in Kansas city that was turned into an underground condominium. Complete with farms for growing food & water purification.

    • @RunningOTR
      @RunningOTR  4 месяца назад +1

      Hello and good morning I usually do top them off when I’m heading far, I was doing local runs so didn’t really need much fuel for it. I’m heading to Colorado in a few hours so I’ll definitely fill up the fuel and Def that’s for sure. As far as training I’ll take a small brake because my wife and daughter will ride with me for the summer brake since this is the only time they really are able to go with me in the truck. I may consider training after I’m not sure yet. Thanks
