I feel guilty for writing such a silly comment under the video of one of the purest songs ever made, but.. the boat won his race against RUclips's progress bar.

I went to the beach a few months ago. It was my first time on a bus. I fell asleep with my earphones on, and then I woke up with Ekki Mukk. When I opened my eyes I saw a dark road and a black sky full of stars. That simple scenario made me feel so calm and glad to be alive, but also kinda sad and afraid. I struggle with myself a lot, I'm definitely not my friend and I think I'm a piece of crap sometimes. That moment and that song made me think about a lot of things. Everytime Ekki Mukk comes on, I remember that moment.

This song remind me of a girl that I met on a trip, she was listening to this song on a bus so I tried to talk with her she was so similar to me and we listened that song till the end of the route. Every time I listen to this song I feel like I was there next to her on that bus.
It’s a pure and soft feeling
    thanks Sigur Rós

Played this song to begin my English class today. At the end a young man stayed behind, and waited for others to leave. Then he walked up and sheepishly asked. “Mr F--, what was that music? - I felt all like I was floating.” Yeah, I’m not gonna tell him, but in June his final grade is 100%.

Here I am again, staring at a long text. It's always a bit different, but the constant in all of these is an end of an era. An empty heart. A screaming void. Rain in my own small world and noone to enjoy it. At times like these, I always think that I will be alone forever.

I discovered this song from that movie: STARFISH. I was holed up in my little apartment in Spokane Washington-listening to this song, with snow outside, completely covering everything, with not a person on the streets. I thought it was just the most beautiful and ethereal song that I had ever heard in my life. If beauty and love can be wrapped up in a song. Then this is that song.

This is one of the best tracks they've ever made imo. There's something so beautiful and melancholic about it. Yet, at the same time, it sounds like a gentle lullably.

And I passed dozens of places where I had memories with my first and so far only love. This song brought those memories to life tonight. Every time the song was in its last two minutes I'd cry, and I'd swear I could feel her next to me. Two hours well spent for an emotional masochist like myself.

their music tears away all the horrors ,the sadness ,it restores the calm ,the peace ,the serenity of the soul ,of the earth , the sounds we have lost , and forgotten, it hurts to hear such beauty and love, we need this to bring us back from the brink of despair and depression, for all the romantics and people searching this is the music to follow, it will lead us on .

Sigur Ros music is so wonderful..There's nearly no other band that can raise so much emotions in me..
Have you ever heard of the band "Nyctalgia"? If not listen to their "New album teaser".
There's some deeply touching and breathtaking music coming up..
Please don't get me wrong.. I don't want to spam, but I just think that good music needs to be shared..

I've been a fan of Sigur Rós since 'Von' and I still can't believe that they - after all these years - never cease to amaze me! It's like they found the voice of my soul a long time ago and since then they've been saying the most beautiful things on earth with it...

I wish people would stop pretending it takes brians, a good heart or anything like that to appreciate Sigur Ros. It doesn't matter what kind of person you are. It's all about what you can relate to. And it's there that we find that we have something in common. Sharing something with others is one of the simplest, purest and finest joys on the planet.

Totally agree. I adore this. I love songs that don't necessarily feel the need to start quiet and end with a crescendo just to give the impression that the song is moving somewhere. A tune such as this that can stay so hauntingly beautiful for almost 8 minutes without altering too much is amazing. It's why Ludovico Einaudi is so often playing on my mp3

This song I put when I tried to kill myself. I remember that night so well, I was home alone, I had my favorite shirt on and I also wanted to make sure this was the last thing I ever heard, because of his unexplainable beauty. I keep living, that's obvious, this song always reminds me that I survived, that I can always move on, that I don't have to go back to that place. This is one of the few things I can hold on to and it never lets me go.

I think what we recognize in Sigur Ros music is that it comes from such a beautiful place, far away from the daily routine and our earthly struggles. Sigur Ros is a taste of heaven, very literally. It is the soul of music, the epitome of what music truly is.
For that reason Sigur Ros will always be my favorite artist, there's no comparison.
