Translation for the Morse Code in the video:
“It doesn’t matter what I say”
“The only thing that matters is how you feel”
“Understanding that the words are irrelevant is of great importance”
“What feelings do you have”
(Repeat).
Maybe "understanding of words is irrelevant" might be referencing Vonlenska (Hopelandic)
thefransjeh1 I never even knew the lights were Morse Code. That just never occurred to me. The song is somehow even more beautiful knowing this now, thanks.
thefransjeh1
Thank you!
thefransjeh1 Oh thank you... much more gorgeous now :)

This rings so very true for me every time life cuts me deep let it bleed out cuz in time it'll heal
That was probably one of the most beautiful episodes I’d ever seen. Too beautiful for Its Always Sunny.
"So what's your favourite song?"

Best episode ever. I only just realized he's dancing with God and she accepts him but his dad doesn't. That and when Frank finally gets it is just beautiful. I still can't come out to my father so I cry every time I watch that episode.

As soon as this started playing, I knew shit was going to get real.
Thank you Rob McElhenney!
Thanks Rob
A big thank you indeed.
Thanks Rob!
I don't know if other people feel this way, but I really enjoy listening to songs in languages I don't understand. Something about it seems just otherworldly enough to seem magical. I doubt any of the beauty is lost to native speakers, but you get what I'm saying? Sublime.
I get what you mean
For me it's more like when I listen to songs in other languages the lyrics/vocals act more as an additional instrument than lyrics... And I really enjoy that because it's like I can find/interpret my own meanings of somgs
As for me, a foreign language in the song is like another instrument thus I treat it just this way, especially Romance Languages like Italian or French which sound like a music in my ears.
you just clarified what i have been feeling for years
me too!
That one show with a naked Danny Devito coming out of a sofa brought me here
I’ll never forget watching my favorite show that had made me laugh over 10 years only to start crying like a baby, lol
Same. It crushed me at the end.
when they played their last track I was in trance. Most insane experience of my whole life, truly. By lightyears the best concert I‘ve been to.
The way his dad stormed off at the end but the other prisoners stayed and clapped wrote me off completely
The power of art!
My heart breaks when mac stars crying
Hearing my favorite Sigur Ros song accompany a staggeringly moving dance from my favorite TV show is probably going to be my pop culture memory of the decade
Just saw the scene in "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia" that includes this song and I was immediately taken aback. Sigur Ros whom I first was introduced to with "Saeglopur" the trailer for the video game "Prince of Persia" around 2008, always continues to deliver in the most emotional and beautiful music that I've ever heard.
I cried, ....so hard. Especially the end. How beautiful. I'm done today.
This is the song that will be played on my funeral.
I want it too 💙
May it nearly be forgotten by then.
Me I'd rather listen to it while I'm alive...
There’s like this storm inside of me and it’s been raging my whole life, and I’m down on my knees, and I’m looking for answers, and then God comes down to me and it’s a very hot chick and she pulls me up and we start dancing.
ahh what a metaphor ..
This sounds like the kind of lullabies trees would sing if they had voices.
Wow
That's beautiful
When those chords started in Always Sunny I thought "what no way?" I never thought music like this would appear on a show like that.
This is so incredibly sublime it makes me want to buy very expensive headphones not to miss a single sound subtlety of this marvel.
Jungle it really is fuckin flawless on good headphones.
Make sure you have a high quality file and a good player as well. You won't regret.
My headphones came yesterday, listened to it about 15 times already

I discovered this song the day before my dad died. Every time I listen to it I break down in tears. It’s good and bad all at the same time
This comment made me cry. Nothing but love Brother 🥹♥️
@ianpeep7354 - some years on I bet this still has the same effect, and always will. Hopefully now though, less pain and more joy.

I saw Sigur Ros in Dublin, Ireland about 6 years ago. Ive been a fan for 15 years. I'm in my 30s, I've been to 250+ concerts from tool to Hans Zimmer and Sigur Ros peaked everyone. It was an experience ill never forget.
Same, it was the most intense concert Ive ever been to.

My gravestone should read these words
If angels were in a band, their name would be Sigur Rós.
indeed !!!
absolutely
that's exactly what I thing of them
what exactly does sigur ros mean in English?
"Sigur" means "victory", "Rós" means "rose", but "Sigurrós" is the name of the singer/guitarist's sister.
Mac: laughs are cheap, man. I'm going for gasps. Gasps are where it's at.
Mac is the definition of character development
Nas Nasri GOLD!
What's funny is that the whole point of IASIP characters is they never learn from their mistakes, they're never supposed to develop as people. But now Mac is the only character who has shown any semblance of true change in the cast. It makes me wonder if in the final season of the show, whenever that is, they'll finally allow all of the characters to finally change a little since the writers have shown to be able to do it greatly with Mac's one episode.
@@josephwantock1993 Frank changed a little too
@@josephwantock1993 I dunno, cricket sure has changed. For the worse, sure.. But changed nevertheless, haha.
@@themiddleones11 That is very true. Frank became much more accepting of homosexual people after this episode, particularly towards Mac.
This song is EPIC! First heard it while watching Always Sunny in Philadelphia... Mac's dance was amazing! The most powerful expression of emotion I have ever seen. Wow... Just WOW! I am so glad this was the song chosen to be the catalyst for such emotion. Sigur Ros should remaster this song with rain in the background, but I still love it how it is. Rob McElhenney is a genius!
This song makes me feel like I'm dying. there is no memories of everything that I'll left behind if I really die, but there is a beautiful place, surrounded by flowers in their sad colors, I'm lying right there, looking at the sky, while the drops of rain touches my face softly, I'm crying, but I can only feel it, and at the same time, I'm smiling, like I know that my time has come, but I don't care because it is peaceful and I won't have to worry anymore... SURELY a masterpiece of art.
And just when the drum starts going wild during the last couple minutes, flashbacks of your entire life. :')
Pink Moon
From time to time i like to read ur comment with the song plays
I have the same feeling
There is a cemetery right next to my work, and on most nights (I work nights), I like to go take a walk around the path that surrounds the graveyard. At one end there is a big cross, and I go there to kneel before it and pray. I'm not the most religious guy in the world, but for some reason it feels right to pray when I'm in a cold, dark place in life. I did that tonight while listening to this song and it was really up-lifting. The song reminds me of faith in a way.
In the end everyone goes to sleep with the pink moon🌙 in the sky
How feelings sound like...
This is what i call art. This makes me want to scream at the edge of the world.
what a beautiful reply, taste in music, and user name. i would love to know you.

God, thats a beautiful description of it.
Wow.. his scene truly is THAT powerful. I've been listening to Sigur Rós for so many years now. I should be able to separate the song from Mac's stage performance in IASIP - this is heavy.

Check out their entire catalogue. Med Sut's 'Festival' would make a lizard or a statue cry. Love these guys.

4:50
I've been a big fan of this band since 2004, can't get enough of their music. My favorite times to listen to them are when I go out for runs or hikes, preferably at sunset. Where I live we have a lot of secluded trails in forests. When you stop and look all around you, especially with this song, I feel some sort of connection; not particularly to nature but something more than that, something above that. I'm not a believer in god but when this surge of feelings hits me it's the closest I probably have to a religious experience. It's like something is trying to communicate to me and I understand it but it can't be put into words. It's almost like it's the language of life itself, I have visions of ancient people painting on walls and some even further back than that. Or maybe it's just one hell of a runner's high haha
you're right. happens to me too :)
Recommend some of their tracks for us to check out :)
Sigur ros - The nothing song, its extremely good! The acoustic version is so surreal.
It's Sigur Ros high buddy. That does exist, not so sure about the runner's high!

After this you will just like anything that they play.
This list also shows the variety that they can play. E.g. Popplagid starts mellow but ends no less than heavy metal.
Hope you enjoy.

This is literally how depression feels if it was put into song. Dark undertone with little sparks of hope and beauty. Been there and this song was there for me. 5 years of happiness since!
we have had very different experiences with depression...
Its also what elation feels like if it was put into a song
feels more like realization after depression than depression itself
For me this sounds more like enlightenment as does the video
I feel conflicted about this song. On one hand, I want to listen to it again and again. On the other hand, I don't think I can actually handle all the emotions it would make me feel.
Mac's dance added a whole new perspective to this masterpiece

Hearing this brings a tear to my eye. It's so beautiful. It brings up so many emotions and makes me think about things. This is so beautiful. Thank you for making this music.
My chest aches when I listen to this
I had to take my headphones off before my heart burst.
I just looked into space... But then came a sting in my heart. :(
This song is beyond the music, what is this!!?? I am listening something like this for the first time, how can this be created?
with love and the harmonical sound spectrum
Mac knew his dad would leave. He built it into the performance. But thankfully the other prisoners, and this comments section, make me remember humanity isn't entirely the worst.
And frank stayed. He supported Mac more then his own father

When I say this is breathtaking I really mean it. I literally stopped breathing at the end without noticing because of the things this made me feel man, that was too much 😭
I learned about this band by mere chance through a watchmojo video. Never thought something this incredible would come out of such a simple viewing of a crappy top 10 list. After listening to a few of their songs and reading into the band and also the comments below, particularly that bit about the morse code translation and people's interpretations of the song, I am absolutely amazed by this band and their music and I am so glad I made this discovery. Excellent music. Can't say it enough.
What video was it? I've been a fan of Sigur Rós for a while and I've always hoped to see them in a Watchmojo video
They only got an honorable mention in a top 10 unique singing voices. I heard a short clip of "Glósóli", if I remember correctly. Decided to check them out because it was giving off some Radiohead vibes. But Sigur Rós is so much more than a radiohead clone. Can't even be compared.
Jesse Lapham Thanks, and I agree, they are so much better. I found a top 10 that they are actually included in, which is most controversial music videos, so you can check that one out too.
Just watched that one too. I doubt that it would still to this day be controversial, due to the changing attitudes to the lgbt community. Hell, even Jonsi from this band is open about his homosexuality, so this kind of stuff shouldn't be too shocking. Glad the band is getting notice though.
+Jesse Lapham (ジェシー・ラップハム) If you think Sigur Ros is beautiful, check out Jonsi's solo album with his partner Alex. "Riceboy Sleeps. " Don't be driving when Boy 1904 starts playing though, it will take you somewhere a car can't go. :0
Oh my god. I never thought that this song will be like this. I clicked it randomly but i cant close now. It feels like if i close this, this will be so disrespectful for the creator of the song and for the god.
oh my god im crying
... I get it...
I heard this on the album and thought it was nice. Then I saw it live and it shook me to my fucking core. The ending when the roar fades and those women are still singing....good LORD. See also: untitled 8. On the album its serviceable. Live it is life changing.
Perhaps part of the problem in this existence is that the silent and the good do not support and promote each other as much as the loud and the twisted.
Thank you Sigur Ros for making the world magical
the feelings are frightening but beautiful while listening.

Anyone who want's to crap on any Sunny fans who found this song. I just want to say that I was so moved by that scene that I actually bought this whole album on cd and mp3 because of how powerful it was. It sometimes takes a different approach to find a listener to a certain form of music. I am now a fan and a follower. I can only hope it had the same response from other Sunny fans that it benefited this group enough that they also take a look at IASIP and hopefully said scene.

Best comment I've ever seen on youtube. I think what this song embodies for alot of people is the idea that it doesn't have to, that maybe, just maybe, there's something to all of this life that is beautiful beyond belief and that that beauty can stand the test of time. I know coming from a Christian background that this song encapsulates a slice of heaven. Is Love eternal? Can it be? Can beauty like this be felt beyond music or is music just a fantasy machine, implanting ideas in us that are impossible to attain? I have yet to sense this kind of beauty other than when I listen to Sigur Ros, I wonder if it really exists or if art is the closet we can get to experiencing it.
Edit: I've read through my studying philosophy that there's an argument that provides evidence for our innate inclination towards the perfect, and that this inclination is somehow proof in itself that perfection must exist somewhere (or else how could we conceive it). Anyone have any exact idea of who I'm referring to?
