Love the colour combo so much! I like the largest dark area at the bottom but, it does look awesome in landscape as well! It might not buckle so much if you mist the back before you start, makes it a little less thirsty! 💕🇨🇦

Hi Denise ! Just to let you know you are my go to when I am STUCK!
I used the paper but I used Japanese Paint / ink (Sai Ayami Ink 20) omg the colors of these inks are incredible! Highly pigmented and looks to have a small bit of graphite . They do nice little surprises on the paper if paper is very wet . I think I ll try with acrylic next, as the texture is my only negative. But that is the only thing I don’t love about the paper, as the color from the inks popped on the paper. I’m all about paper and color , being a graphic designer for 30 years. The right paper for the project will be the deciding factor for a project.
You’re still my go to girl when I am uninspired. I do indeed practice my craft at least one hour a day no matter what. Have been since reading the book Writing down to the bones in the 90s (I think that is the name of it) . Anyway, you are an important part of my life. So if YOU ever get discouraged , re read this comment and know what you are doing is important. I don’t have time or $ to do classes which is where at one time I got my inspiration and the chance to be with my tribe.
You and of my artsy friends are now my tribe, we need each other , to share techniques and ideas with each other, that isn’t the competitive cra- that happens at art school. Most importantly , an artist (in my experience) is a personality type , we need to hang out with each other in order not to feel an aloneness that sometimes happens. So just know that what you are doing is like wet on wet….. never know what’s going to happen but it affects every (Thing) or one and always turns out beautiful!

I too have the Khadi paper and agree that it's not perfect but I do love the texture. It also looks great divided up into smaller pieces with decked edges.

Love this! I use Dick Blick mattes a lot-the only thing I hate about them is the smaller squeeze bottles are almost impossible to squeeze with 66 year old hands! But I prefer matte paints too!

I have 77 year old hands and sometimes wear nitrile gloves. They seem to improve my grasp.
I read somewhere that if you spray the paper with a bit of water then tape it down and let dry before painting it doesn’t buckle but I’ve never tried it. I don’t know, to me it seems like the tape wouldn’t stick to wet paper.
