Join me as I unbox the Boox Note Air 3c. This is my first E-Ink device that allows writing/drawing. I've had a few different Kindles over the years, but nothing like this.
I open the package, explain what I'm looking for in such a device, boot it up for the first time, and give my real-time impressions of the device as I use it for the first time.

I would guess that many of your viewers are familiar with the current devices, but would like to know the features of this new device. For instance, this particular device is special because of the colour screen - an aspect which wasn't really addressed in the video. A video exploring the colour would probably do well. Thank you!
@dotancohen great idea, thank you! What aspects of the colour would you like to see explored?
@@geolessel In my opinion the most two interesting aspects would be how colour adds functionality, and how colour harms functionality. For instance, does the colour screen react more slowly than the traditional B&W experience? Is the contrast worse? Are some colours easily confused? For note taking, is this significant (e.g. annotating PDF files, or new hand-written notes). Then of course show off the advantages of colour. I wouldn't address video, but graphs and charts in colour could be very important. Download some scientific PDF files and show those. Maybe at the end discuss how the use of colour affects battery life. It's not a big consideration for me but it might be for some people.
I hope that this helps - there are a ton of people that are holding off on E-Ink until colour improves and your channel could certainly focus on that aspect that has the most interest. Good luck!

I got a Kindle Basic for Christmas and love it! I think in the future I might consider an e-ink device like this one.
Well hello! 😆 So far so good (except for battery life). I've had Kindles since the very first one and have mostly enjoyed them throughout (though there were times where I just wanted to hold a real book for a while).
Nice unboxing video... seemed a little strange to me thst their default environment did not better take advantage of colors. Ie default icons and such nothing really stood out. I know the ultra c does.
Yeah, that was strange. If it were me, I think I would make the bootup experience open up a beautiful color document or image. Or at the very least include one or more for you to discover in the files section!

I just returned the Boox I ordered (Pro C). The ghosting is TERRIBLE on the screen and the color is not great.
@@AquaR33f Yeah, the color is underwhelming. It's cool that it is there at all I guess, but is it just a gimmick? It might be useful for a lot of people but I don't think I'm one of those people.

@alphakicker8820 it is when the previous screen's contents are still slightly visible behind the current screen's contents.
I have done enough research to realise Geoffrey is a self declared newbie to eInk writing. So this is not much use for me.
It is definitely true that I am a newbie to e-ink writing. The only past experience I have is a VERY brief time spent with a friend's Remarkable 2 (in the range of minutes) and I do have an iPad with a Paperlike overlay and the Apple Pencil (which I don't really like but it was OK for a while). Despite this, I do hope that there is something from the video that is of benefit to you. Regardless, thanks for watching!
