did my first cluch job on my 2003 525i 5 speed, ended up putting the clutch on backwards and when to start the engine and the guide sleeve instantly welded itself to the clutch. it took 4 5 foot crowbars to bust the newly welded piece of trans and clutch back out. Safe to say I will never ever make that mistake again.
You can get a full 6 speed clutch kit from clutch max with the 6 puck for $400. Its actually cheaper than the 5 speed equivalent, I did my 6 speed swap a few months ago so I have actually had both clutches lol.
Thanks for posting dude. I enjoy it. I got a 99 323i blk 5 speed. Stock drive tran for now. Blk on blk slow as fuck but got 10k in suspension & wheels and reinforcement parts. Haven't done any drive tran yet. And watching your videos is very helpful in picking a direction. Originally was going to ls swap it 5 years ago. Still haven't. Kinda want to say bmw stuff. U da man!
Really would be better off doing a LS swap. If you had a 3.0 M54 I would suggest headers, m50 intake manifold, some little tricks and a tune. M54b25 really isn't worth to mod imo. Can sell it for the price pay for a 5.3 or 6.0 in junkyard. Then if you want to turbo down the road you can throw some good boost at it stock and be way more reliable not to mention way more fun. 🤙
Where did you get just the clutch disk? I have the eBay 5 speed for my e39 and I have a 6 speed sitting in the garage from a previous car. I’d like to put the 6 speed in it. Oddly enough, I bought an e39 bumper from you a couple years ago. Small world 😂

As I’m saving an extra $1k to order a kit for my 6-speed, thanks!

This video was 🔥
I have done this before but I had a bearing adapter custom machined and it fits the smaller 6speed rollerbearing instead, still works fine.
What a great video
Wow watch it on x20?

Love it 🤙🏼
Where can I get the complete clutch kit? With the 23 tooth splines and everything else needed?
Nice. So this should work with a twin disc too, right? So I could use the hopwood twin disk in a 6 speed zf?

You can buy just the disc for like $60 from clutch max. Glad you found my channel 😂
Can you put the link to the throw bearing adapter in the video description please?
Added. Sorry about that
So is it a 5 speed clutch kit with 6 speed clutch? The ZF5 is 15 spline and ZF6 is 23 spline.
Does the kit you put on that zhp chatter pretty bad?
Its a single mass so yes its going to have some chatter at idle
