I always thought the five symptoms of troubling mechanics were fear, anger, sadness, denial then Joy? But hey, I'm just a human, of the world, interested in car related videos, on the internet.
When I have struggled to re-assemble a time consuming, knuckle-scraping project to then find I’ve forgotten a part requiring another disassemble/re-re-assemble cycle, I inevitably increase the workload by having to spend time picking up the objects strewn everywhere from my profanity-laced temper tantrum. 😱 My hat’s off to your patience! Great video… thank you, Sarah. 👍👍👍
Your technical skills, lovable personality, and humor in the face of setbacks and recalcitrant automotive bits and pieces, are what make this channel work.
Yeeesh- and i thought spending 18 hrs installing shorty headers on a 5.7L HEMI was rough. And i added the heat tape and got completely covered in fiberglass. 😂😂 thanks for sharing your struggles Sarah- you provide the most realistic and honest videos on RUclips. Dont forget your Christmas present- it could help with the manual swap.
I did this install about 8yrs ago- maybe when it was popular? Thought it would be cheaper to do shorties and then a catback without messing with the cats. Took 18hrs because i was trying to install them without pulling half the motor out. Tight fit with the heat wrap and tight bolt locations. Literally bought mini wrenches to get the bolts tight. Sad part is i had help!😂 😂
Your personality is priceless and the reason I follow you. You know something is going to happen and when it does you just talk cute chit about it. Great video and Thank you for the smiles and laughs.
Comment on the header wrap. I learned that soaking the wrap first helps you get less itchy and helps get a really tight wrap. It takes longer heat cycle to dry but as the water evaporates it is also cooking off the header wrap smell. Oh... I have the tool (two of them) for tightening the stainless ties... don't bother LOL. The needle nose way you used is almost better and easier to release except in tight intersections.
Yay Gump! A few days of work, a great sounding and smooth Gump! Love the attention to detail, not throwing half dead bolts back in. And a Wild Charlie bonus. Sarah, you rock!
@@SarahnTuned it was my daily since mid 2014 (130 mile commute every day) lots of wheel bearings, a couple of lift gate struts, light bulbs. I've had 3 xt's, 2 were stick. Stainless on stainless can create a welded bond like not other. High heat anti-seize is a must when assembling items. I'm glad you were able to get through that painful experience.
Just got to say, opened RUclips and found this video first on my recommendations. Caught myself smiling as I clicked to start it. Been a subscriber for several years now and I always love your vids! The combination of car content and your PERSONALITY always keep me coming back.❤
Sarah, your videography expertise is shing through! From the music and scene changes it is awesome! Love the insert of the cleaning products. Feel free to have a shelf of your products in the background. It's not like showing the back of your laptop for product placement. We appreciate your work as an entrepreneur and your support you the best ways we can.
Interesting and timely because yesterday I made the decision to go with long pipe headers on my 1958 Buick nailhead rebuild. Because, who doesn’t appreciate a fine wine?
I’ve been eagerly waiting forever for Forester Gump content. Can’t wait for the 6spd swap and how you’ll resolve the wiring nightmare. I’ve seen some other full STI swap SJ’s and although I did like them a FA20/FA24 SJ with a 6spd is >>>>>>.
There are STI transmission swapped VB WRX out there, and someone sells a conversion kit to help them work together (I think wiring and the plate for mounting the transmission to the FA24). I think getting a built FA24 would add more smiles per mile, but I'm happy to see ANY Gump content!
You have your own shop, a dedicated following, and are about to have a barndominium. You’re ahead of most people, lady. That’s what those 80 hr weeks got you.
Excellent work Sarah, I will say wrapping my headers on the BMW 4.4L was a chore but worth the retention of heat to go down stream toward the cats, love your show.

The heat shield reminded me of one of those moments. I was changing out the front knuckle and some other parts on my old Outback and after I got it all back together to discover I had put the gawdam dust shield on backwards 🤯 top it off after I watched a RUclipsr do the same job first and had put his gawdam dust shield on backwards 😂
I made the mistake of buying the UEL for my fa20 wrx. It sounded great but I lost power, fuel economy and boost came on later in the rev range. Not worth it. I will now be buying a set of equal length headers this year.
Great video. Your attention to detail is off the charts. I think if you ever put up that Forester (or any of your other vehicles) on BAT, the sale price would be unreal. I believe so many people out there, especially your followers, really appreciate the type of quality and meaningful upgrades you do and the quality of the work is unmatched.
So glad to hear the dixie cup comparison Sarah... Imma guessing 85% of us are right there with you! Oh, and I have said it before, ya need to come home for a visit... -10 day-before-yesterday with the roads covered in liquid salt-I KNOW you miss this...
I never comment on videos, but I have to say I really like your videos. You’re very good at what you do. I’ve been watching you for a long time. Can’t wait to see the next video.
Super nice to see you change it up to Gump. I’m a heavy duty diesel engine tech, if I had a dollar for every time I forgot a turbo heat shield I could buy a new car. 😂. Love your content as always. Take care.

Thursday evening significantly improved by a Sarah video. Completely relatable too. Oh, and i'm never going to video myself working on cars. It'd be one continuous bleep for a soundtrack.
I got a little over-excited about this one. At first I thought it was another of your new car reviews. I have a 2025 Forester on order: it's supposed to be here in February. 😉
2:54-ish… When you have to flat-rate auto repairs, those drips of fluid you had are not even a worry in our world… 😊😂❤ Just look at a vid or 2 on YT of oil spills in shops…😂

Love the videos. Might I recommend you get a high lift Transmission Jack. It's great for making a 2-man job into a 1-man job while working under a hoist. i.e. Removing/ installing Axles,Diffs, and leaf spring packs. Or in your case a Turbo and Manifold.
Hi Sarah. I’ve also had problems with stainless steel bolts seizing and galling when trying to disassemble. In my case, this is with hardware on radio towers and antennas that are exposed to the weather. I found that if I pre-treat the hardware with WD40 they come off without any issues. It doesn’t take much; just a few drops. You have to get it to wick in for it to work. Other lubricants may work if they’re thin enough. I just found that WD40 works and so I just stick with it.
I LOVE the outfit choices this video Sarah. Looking fit and fine 🥰 That being said.... I love many things about you and your work!! Keep at it. You're killin' it. 👍
Exactly, engine oil oxidation starts the minute you cranked your engine and it'll degrade over time, even if you park your car in the shade for months. Rule of thumb is to change out new Engine Oil and Oil Filters every 6 months, even if you drive it for only a 100 miles during this period. Good job 👍

Love the way Sarah keeps it real. Me, as a former sailor I would have blistered the paint off verbally when I saw the heat shield lying on the bench.
