Oh my days, right on time. I have literally been praying for some information about histamine intolerance this week! Thank you so much for this in depth explanation 🙏
I'm 71, have been through all the experts, constant colon issues, how to I have an appointment with you. You are the first person I have seen who is thinking what I have been trying to convince my doctors of and I am constantly ignored and put on ssri, which I have always refused.
Thanks for clarufying this imporatant topic! I had IgG test for intolerance to 267 foods as I had cnstant diarhea, headaches, hot waves, palpitations, bloating. Eggs, macadamia, Brazil nuts and kiwi were in red. I stopped eating these but I got rid of the diarrhea only. The rest of the sympoms persisted. Then I made a Genetic test and it is written "this genetic profile has high risk of histamine intolerance". I also have genetic problems with ingenstion of dairy. Hope in my case the root cause of my problems is clear now.
Great video, as always. You’re one of the only people on the major platforms who actually talks in a nuanced way about root causes for this condition/syndrome. The only other ones I know about are Nasjree Nambudripad and Nicole Dinezza. Piecing all this info together can potentially tremendously help people, although I also believe people should be guided through this with the help of someone who has clinical experience. That’s why I find it unfortunate that you don’t take international patients. But nonetheless, thanks for sharing this video.
Wow!! Super, super helpful video. Thank you for parsing out the various categories of each possible histamine intolerance driver. I am going to use this information when I meet with my functional medicine team tomorrow to figure out my testing options. Here recently, I have experienced some major histamine intolerance relief from: 1) being (temporarily) on low histamine diet and 2) using the Seeking Health Histamine Digest dietary supplement. Life saver! 🎯🎯🎯 Thank you for this incredibly well researched information. You are a GEM! 💕💕By God's grace, I hope to get to the bottom of this gut microbiome/GI/dysbiosis road block. Goodness, it's been a rollercoaster! ♥🙏
I wish I could work with you. I’m in the US and struggling so badly. Do you know of any herbalists in the US that you would recommend? I saw on your website that you can’t take international patients
There are other herbalists(at local herbal stores and Holistic Drs that are familiar with Histamine, gut disbiosis, biofilms and nutrition. Many of these Drs are quite expensive and dont take insurance. Being a troubleshooter, I've decided to learn and figure it out for myself. I don't recommend this to everyone. Other channels I watch are Dr Peter Osborne, Dr Darren Schmitt, Dr Paul Anderson, Dr Ben Lynch(which he mentioned) Dr Eric Berg, Dr Sten Ekberg, there are many others.
Thanks Todd, as always above and beyond with your clear explanations! Understanding root causes is key. Very grateful to be in Australia to receive the benefits of your wisdom!
I have had to deal with Lyme disease and Epstein Barr since a kid! I can not stand any drugs at all. Just had a hernia surgery and 9 days later I am dealing with horrible histamine reaction! Belly covered with a horrible itchy rash and reaching up to chest and down into pelvis! I have been sensitive to Tylenol, pain meds were out except seemed low doses of morphine! The only thing I can think of is antibiotics in the IV at the time of surgery. Benadryl not helping! UGH!!
If you have IgE to grass pollens and have hayfever symptoms, is that linked to a histamine intolerance? You mentioned IgE at the start of the video, but I wasn't sure if you mean it is connected with a histamine intolerance. I am wondering how I could help my severe hayfever symptoms from grass pollen, with a high IgE to grass pollen, as in how to address the cause of it, rather than manage the symptoms.
IgE is one of the most potent triggers of mast cell degranulation and histamine release into the body (more here www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8392195/#:~:text=Mast%20cells%20are%20activated%20upon,histamine%20to%20trigger%20inflammatory%20responses.) Hope that helps!
I have been dealing with histamine and tinnitus for about 4-5 months now. It started with tinnitus and end up with histamine is there any way you could help me with this situation?
That depends on your location. I see a handful of patients in Europe but can't take on anyone in North America due to business insurance restrictions unfortunately
You forgot the #1 test that changed my life and had given me 95% drop in symptoms. Hormone imbalance. Get your testosterone levels checked! Mine were super low and after I started TRT, almost all my symptoms are gone. Truly life changing.
@@gingerbread1212interesting! Just curious - are you male or female? And what were you initial testosterone levels? I did not know women we t on TRT. I wish I started TRT 20 years ago - my life is so much better from rashes and irritability gone, confidence and strength up.
@@gingerbread1212 women are not typically prescribed trt so i find your comment very odd. How could you have an opposite effect if you were not on trt? What effects are you referring to?
I thought your presentation on histamine was excellent. Thank you so much for providing this for so many people. I have recently had my DNA done and I produce too much oestrogen which I’m led to believe produces too much histamine. I’m in the UK is there any literature or anything else I should be doing. DAO tablets seem to make me so sleepy I cannot think or keep awake like I have been drugged.😢
Thank you for your time and input on this complex issue Todd. There are so many areas that can contribute, and trying to figure out the root cause can be overwhelming. I had an op 6 months ago which involved a course of antibiotics and am now feeling the after effects which has resulted in elevated strains of Candida. Even though I took probiotics. Now I have raised histamine issues after eating. Especially foods on the no list. Also hives for the first time. Am taking a lot of the supps recommended, good diet, detoxing metals etc. Occasionally I take an antihistamine just to calm the flare but try to resist relying on these. Do you know what the H2 blocker antihistamines in Australia are? With appreciation 🙏
Does adhd have a link with histamine? I've always reacted to so many foods, I have eliminated dairy and gluten and there was a massive improvement. Although diarrhoea still persists. I was recently diagnosed with adhd, so just wondering if there's a link?
I've been dealing with gut issues for over 5 years abdominal pain and bloating and diagnosed with lpr, last year developed sinus issues and congestion along with dyshidrotic eczema on hands and then my eyes started burning and ended up with corneal erosion syndrome, I've also had mild allergenic asthma and hayfever in the spring all my life No medications seem to help with any of my symptoms, so interesting reading all the comments
Why is it required to go to such lengths to diagnose the root cause? Do you not employ broadly the same treatment regardless anyway? Once histamine has been identified as the issue that is.
This would be a gross oversimplification of a complex problem. For most histamine intolerance cases finding and addressing the reason why is the only way to completely recover. You can mask the symptoms with diet and supplements. I wish it was a simpler approach but that hasn't been my experience walking hundreds of people through this process.
I’m confused as I’m experiencing what I think is histamine intolerance with allergic reactions to foods the last month or so with severe asthma symptoms but I don’t know if it’s mcas. I’ve been tested for environmental allergies and have AR and Nadal polyps but now with gluten n soy and alcohol etc.. it’s so frustrating. My naturopath is testing me first for sibo ? Thinks it could also be estrogen related. I’m hoping there’s a solution for this 🫤

Boy was this was tremendously helpful. My naturopath had these charts but didn't explain any of it. Thank you!
Can you please tell us what treatments are used for mold ?

Where are you please.? How do I do your tests? Please
How about estradiol replacement improving histamine rash and itchy throat mouth and eyes ? Si there a connection with HI and menopause
In 2019 I had a saliva test for histamine intolerance. Also, came back saying histamines were highest in the middle of the night.
So glad you're getting some testing to find the problem

How did u do saliva test

What about peri menopause?
Yes. These symptoms are common in perimenopause/menopause - maybe histamine is a problem with hormone changes too. Feels like it in my case anyway.
Hello, great information. Would you look at patients from India?
I have had to deal with Lyme disease and Epstein Barr since a kid! I can not stand any drugs at all. Just had a hernia surgery and 9 days later I am dealing with horrible histamine reaction! Belly covered with a horrible itchy rash and reaching

You're so welcome! anything I missed?
Excellent video!
thanks Susan!!
What about HRT driving histamine intolerance? There seems to be an estrogen connection...
yes I see this discussed a lot. Not the top driver in my experience but don't rule it out!
Brilliant explanation, thank you!

Very Well Done!

Now can have chocolate, fermented foods, even workout hard and drink alcohol without rash breakouts and other histamine symptoms!
I'm glad that worked for you ! I had the opposite issue. The HRT was causing me worse histamine issues. Stopping it made a world of difference !!
