For those watching this after the fact, in my version of Blender (4.3.1) the Loop Tools (02:40) can now be found under "Get Extensions" just above "Add-ons".
Thank you, Ryan. I will be honest, it is difficult for me to find a tutorial, where somebody actually explains stuff. I've been stuck with the donut tutorial and I couldn't get anything out of that. I basically copied the model and barely added anything myself. But with your tutorial, I was able to learn at least something. I see many parts of this tutorial where you can experiment with the models and add your own stuff. Truly a massive THANKS!
Thank you so much. I've been stuck using Maya 2009 for years now but finally decided to take the leap and learn Blender. This tutorial is so fantastic - taking us through all the basics while giving us something to build.
in 8:45 is there's a simpler option/method to cap it (like in Rhino p.e when you use Cap Planar Holes) instead of the mirroring technique which requires a lot of maneuvers

@youtube.j.j.j I did everything except the Loop Tool bit. It looks close enough to a button, even without it. Not a perfect circle, but with the subsurf modifier, can't really tell
@@DontInvolveNoTrust you need to go to extension, i cant remember what its called exactly but its above the tab in preferences then type it in and download it from there it will auto select it
Thank you for the video again. I like where this is going. A quick question though, was the curve supposed to be a part of the button because my curve is acting as a different object and I need to select both the button and the curve?😅
HI Ryan, wonderful tutorial. I've got a question. I noticed that in the Object Mode, when I place an object on another object, the new object I placed becomes invisible. For example, when I placed the button on the snowman, the button disappeared into the snowman. Please, how do I fix this? Thanks!
You probably moved the button into the snowman without realizing as you are working from the front view. When moving the button, change your view to side view and move the button just close enough to the body. As you get very close to the body, you will observe part of the button disappearing into the snowman which becomes your cue to stop. Adjust the button as you wish until satisfaction then switch back to front view. Hope this helps.

Hello, can anyone assist I’m stuck on the last part of this tutorial.. for some reason it’s not letting me scale my button. I’m using blender version 4.3.2. I’ve tried scaling by also changing my “transform pivot point” options from median point, individual origins, 3D cursor but nothing is working. I’ve tried looking for other videos to assist, but unfortunately can’t find anything that works.☹️
In case you’re having the same issue, I was able to figure it out by watching: “Fix cannot rotate or scale in object mode in blender 2.8” video by PCRick Tech here on RUclips… basically the solution was I had to turn off the ‘only locations’ which you can do so by hitting the period key and turn off the only locations option.
Hey thanks for your content, Top Notch! However, i am unable to: see more than 3 items on my sidebar, unable to use this loop tool, blender 4.2 on a macbook pro ... all was smooth until this part ...
on blender 4.2.1 you have to select the “get extensions” tab right above “add-ons” and serch for loop tool there. then you can instal and eneble the add-on
