I'd suggest taking some of your left over foam and inserting inside your PVC pipe before gluing it together. If you spring a leak, those pipes will all fill with water and cause you to sink. Foam inside would keep that from happening. Great design -- I've always wanted to build something like this.
Problem is filling it with foam will greatly reduce how much weight the boat can hold. You would need to use maybe a 16 inch pipe to make up the difference in lost buoyancy. A couple dozen life vests would be cheaper.
¡¡Qué maravilla y qué despliegue de ingenio!! Se demuestra un talento impresionante al diseñar y construir algo así. Un fabuloso medio de transporte por muy poco dinero. ¡¡Felicidades!!
Nice simple design! Great. I’d like to see some smaller tubes mounted underneath the two bottom sides. That would give it lift and act as rail tubes to ride on
I know he was struggling in the boat because one is he shouting the video by a hand another is that he is giving accelate to the motor he is great person 👏 👍 nice I will support you we all are there
I too would make it wider and longer. If you added 2 T's at the fore and aft thwarts to make two more beams you wouldn't need the foam...which is just going to break up and pollute the waterway. I think you could then make the prow a bit larger and add a T to each side but pointing inward and then connect to another 90, kind of reversing what he did to make the prow and then you would definitely have plenty of buoyancy. Then, I'd fill the insides of the pipe with spray foam to make is unsinkable in case of a crash. Cool idea though.
Nice idea and build, the only things I would do diferrently would be to run a reinforcement from the motor mount to the wood at the stern and because I'm probbly twice his size would have been to upscale the boat and used a full sheet of foam for the main area and then two lite layers of fiberglass, because it's something I'd keep for quite awhile to fish from. Oh yes, and also would install a small aluminum beach chair, the type with short legs, into the deck to keep my old butt from getting too tired. Thanks for sharing.
Hello! you are the best! I have been following for years! what I would like to see is you building something to fly with! and not a simple model but a real airplane! made in your style!
Thank you for such a wonderful video. Your channel is an inspiration for me to create a channel with similar contents. I hope that you look at it and give me your comments. Keep up the good work. Stay blessed and stay safe!
I bet you have more fun and excitement on your boat than many of these humongous 6 engine behemoths we see in the US, and you built yours for as much as they spend on suntan oil and a g- string !
можно борта приделать из тех же ПВХ/труб.. будет больше плавучесть и тогда можно складных два стульчика поставить и товарища или девушку взять☝️😀.. Неплохое решение 👍. Главное своими руками!
Very creative ......awesome ! Should have fiberglass the whole boat using marine grade wood ! Also , on a small engine like that ? Use a 2 propeller prop to generate rpm and speed ! Also , raise your prop shaft too to be even with the bottom hull to get speed too and low drag ! .....for God sake manning ! Put a seat on there and get comfortable ! ......Good video ....thanks
Great boat. A keel might keep the boat from going side to side so much. That wood looked soft. Old pallets have hard wood. Every screw should be dipped in sealer to keep water out. Don't use power tools and flip flops.
@@sakutaazusagawa208 aircraft needs an Airport or a large place to take off and Land. Big drone need to take off and Land verticaly. He needs 4 big motor, a battery, a controller, à stabilizer and thats all
If the tubes are water tight, adding foam or bottles would decrease the buoyancy rather than increase it, as they would add weight. Nothing would be more buoyant than air except perhaps a lighter-than-air gas like helium or hydrogen.
@@vivangreco1710 dont forget if the pvc had a good seal on it, you could pump out air and create a vacuum. Lighter than air means air at a lower pressure than 1 atm. If you could get it to a pressure of -7 psi, you might recieve somee bouyancy, there. Evacuating the air pressure would be brilliant. So flip the pump to deflate and pump that air out. You would need a one way valve flipped in reverse to achieve that and bouyancy would be increased withiut needing to fill with air. Aside from the raft now having less weight because of the weight of air, its macro density would decrease. The voids would i increase in bouyancy. If it was a very poweful vacuum, an elephant could not sink those pipes. Dont forget to have multiple chambers , on case a seal breaks. That chamber would take on water very fast. So this set up would require decent seals and many chambers, preferred. In order to put a lighter than air gas in those pipes, you would have to evacuate some air in them, creating a vacuum. At that point, o adding of any gas would be heavier than the vacuum, itself. Sense the walls are rigid. I love the idea but helium would juat be heavier to add in there after creating a vacuum to add any other gases.
Pretty cool. Curious, what would the cost be on this project? Did you by chance have a ballpark figure? Like others have said, pvc used to be cheap. Not no more. Great build

Great idea sir, looks lots of fun. I think though it would be much cheaper to just buy a good used boat! The pipe work and fittings would probably be more expensive! Definitely here in the uk anyway.
Yes, very simple and practical. Could use polyurethane to fill up the pipes, aluminium screws and marine ply and a sheet of polythene to cover up the Styrofoam. By the way, which size of pipes is he using 4" or 6" ? Also, I wish I was able to source a 2- stroke boat engine locally.

Hahahahahah...
Great idea. When the boat is sinking is not the time to wish you had some extra buoyancy.
the weakness is especially with the torque on those fittings from bouncing wave impacts.

very cool, just gotta find some free pvc. I've checked on price of anywhere from 6" to 12" pvc and it would be cheaper to buy a boat. Cool video
