    The highest pressure water is at the very bottom of the dam. So the turbine should be below the dam. The turbine outlet should be vertical and upward into a pool to reduce the turbulence of the outlet stream and save the down river bed from erosion.

      he might not need / want ALL the pressure, though? Commercial plants have huge regulator valves to make sure the turbines are getting as much water as they need, but not more...which could damage the turbine.
      Your points about erosion are spot on, frankly I think the bottom of the wall is going to wash out collapsing the whole thing.

    18:25 as far as I know, a counter pressure at the outlet of water will increase the output of the turbine. Just make it like the water lock in a toilet. Prevents cavitation, and keep a steady pressure/under pressure in the francis turbine. Will keep the turbine-pipe part full of water, which is an advantage.

    When laying your mortar put a wavy line down the middle! it will make it easier to lay your bricks level, and give a stronger joint. it could do with slightly being a little bit more wet as well.

    This is insanely satisfying, while also being very triggering.
    Im no civil engineer, but my basic secondary education maths and physics was telling me that this is a collapse waiting to happen.
    Its not dug into the embankment enough, its not dug into the floor enough, the concrete is of an incorrect ratio, and theres no backstop.
    Its only a matter of time before it fails sadly... But it was very satisfying watching you building it. Almost ASMR-esque. ❤

    • @hardrays
      @hardrays 2 месяца назад +3

      these are built for seven year durability. abuttment are self seating into the impermeable clay regolith due to compression of the arch. the floor can be sealed with clay ad hoc. the mix ratio will allow for self healing of cracks in the mortar as the arch deforms while seating itself into the abutment.

    Do you leave each of these dams you build to help provide power to people who live in the area? If you do, how well do they hold up to the power needs? Is something like this a long term build or only temporary?

    • @dripfreefpv9695
      @dripfreefpv9695 3 месяца назад

      This is fake like those primitive shelter videos a few years back. You know because the dam only goes about an inch into the dirt walls around it. The water will wash this dirt away and flow around the dam very quickly. Then the dam will collapse. These probably don't last a week.

      I think this is just a "fun" project. Based on the way he built it, the dam won't last very long. Might be just a way to have new content for the channel as well as a test for the turbine so he can build it somewhere else
