The water seems to be finding its way around the sides of the dam already. It’s the weight of the dam that makes it strong, this isn’t of any significant weight. Kudos to his skills and innovation.
Just please be careful, a very rough calculation based on what I see is that near capacity you will have almost 15,000 Kg/M2 pressure on that wall. It had no bank anchor, little uplift and underwelling protection and no reverse slope or fore slope. A heavy rain could see a 1.5 meter wall of water break loose.
This brought back memories of as a kid my friends and I would dam up the creek below the house with rocks and logs and then sticks and mud to make our fishing hole deeper (Swimming hole too) At one time during the summer we had raised the water level 3 ft Ok we mostly did it out of boredom but we did have a cool place to swim and fish for bluegill That dam stood the test of time for years

My thoughts exactly. I know an engineer who stacked up bags of concrete mixture and hammered rebars into them vertically. The concrete set as the dam impounded the creek and the bags came under water. It lasted until the next storm; the flow eroded the soil on both sides.

I played around with a creek once, that just happened to wind though a city - thought that I was going to be sued hundreds of thousands of dollars; luckily they just removed the dam/waterfall. This guys work is insanely beautiful to watch.
Nice creation and a lot of effort put in it, but the dam can't last very long, 14:18 -14.22 you can see the water already seeping around the top (left mostly) corners through the ground and around the dam structure. Also, I'd add a small generator somewhere at the bottom, adding rocks below the water spillway, and the water jump would dissipate the energy of the water and prevent erosion. Another great idea would be using Arduino water sensors to control the opening of the gates to regulate water height.

Just please be careful, a very rough calculation based on what I see is that near capacity you will have almost 15,000 Kg/M2 pressure on that wall. It had no bank anchor, little uplift and underwelling protection and no reverse slope or fore slope. A heavy rain could see a 1.5 meter wall of water break loose.

Это канава вероятно для сброса сточных вод. Мастер сделал конструкцию для ролика. Но на верхнем бьефе видны сточные трубы...снесли наверное уже...а жаль, красиво
сама по себе плотина, это чистый арт-объект, но в целом, она бы могла и электричество вырабатывать.

Leakage around dams is common. It really depends on the surrounding geology.
My thoughts exactly. I know an engineer who stacked up bags of concrete mixture and hammered rebars into them vertically. The concrete set as the dam impounded the creek and the bags came under water. It lasted until the next storm; the flow eroded the soil on both sides.

I played around with a creek once, that just happened to wind though a city - thought that I was going to be sued hundreds of thousands of dollars; luckily they just removed the dam/waterfall. This guys work is insanely beautiful to watch.

Nice creation and a lot of effort put in it, but the dam can't last very long, 14:18 -14.22 you can see the water already seeping around the top (left mostly) corners through the ground and around the dam structure. Also, I'd add a small generator somewhere at the bottom, adding rocks below the water spillway, and the water jump would dissipate the energy of the water and prevent erosion. Another great idea would be using Arduino water sensors to control the opening of the gates to regulate water height.

Удачи в будущих проектах.
Да они построили, видео отсняли и потом сносят все это. И заново строить другую платину для нового видоса. Тут и бетон 100% не водоустойчивый.

Cool, inspiring, great piece of work! That comes to my mind seeing this. Purpuse can be like others said turbines refitted, irrigation or just the clickmoney... doesn't matter. This is just an example of doing something real and doing it nice instead of useless time waste at home like gaming or things like that.
