    The fact remains these $300 coilovers ride smoother than these $700 coilovers and fit my needs. You want $700 coilovers than bounce bad then go for it but I prefer to be able to adjust my ride stiffness for street or track. If you want track feel on your daily more power to you. Skunk2 brand new ride the same as used (I have owned both new and old).
    Your all entitled to your opinions. They don’t make them wrong they don’t make them right. That makes them your own.

    I’ve had experience with those MAXpeeding coilovers and you get what you pay for. Steel body, steel threads rusted up even keeping wd40 on them. I’d rather have the nicer aluminum body and thread skunk2

    That damper isn’t to stiffen it it’s rebound control. Changes the size hole that lets oil go through. The skunk 2 definitely bounce but it’s a softer ride than max speeds from my experience. But ur sponsored so you have to make them look good

  • @thedistance8843

    There alright for the money, a little too soft for my liking. Been running them for a year now. I had to weld the strut washer or collar since they have that bad circlip design underneath to top hat. I preloaded my springs all the way up to the last thread on all 4, with damper on stiff on all 4 to get a decent ride. I prefer a stiffer ride though so that's just me and my personal opinion. Good vid! 👍

      Oh and another thing... I heard they can help by offering upgraded stiffer springs like deadbeat garage did. When I tried asking there customer support, they seemed as if they never heard of a spring upgrade. Would you be able to fill us in on how to go about getting upgraded stiffer springs? Like maybe 10k or 12k, 14k, ect if there available. I know dbg had like a 16k rear spring for his drag setup on his ef but not sure what there limitations are tbh. Any helpful info would be greatly appreciated.

      I’m not just saying they are good because I’m told to. They wanted my honest opinion and I have never had a set of skunk2 ride good too stiff. Great for track only setups but idk why everyone has bad luck with them but every single set I bought work perfectly fine no issues and I beat the hell out of mine. Plus skunk2 is $700 and Maxpeedingrods $300. Sorry you
      Had bad luck with yours the quality has improved over the years as well because I bought some 5yrs ago and they weren’t as nice as the newer ones I just got. The ones I bought back in the day were still good ride but not as nice as these. Same price too lol 😂

      Yea I get what your saying also the spring rate on the skunk2 are stiffer also the price for skunk2 is $779 and these Maxpeedingrods are $300 so for me the maxpeeding win every time because they ride great and I’m a broke joke Now the skunk2 I feel like are great for track only and these ride like brand new and I have had skunk2 pro2 before and the skunk2 brand new ride actually worse than these skunk2 because they are even stiffer. So many skunk2 fans gonna hate this video but I never drove a car with skunk2 that didn’t ride rough.

    • @TexasHondaChannel
      @TexasHondaChannel  4 года назад +1

      These coilovers aren’t as bad as everyone thinks and not everything is “you get what you paid for” that logic makes no sense idk where people got it in their head that cheap means bad. I don’t charge a lot to do bedline jobs (when I had my shop) but the jobs were quality work never had them flake or anything so that don’t make sense I like to help pass savings on to people and maxpeeding does too. I have ran these in the past (non adjustable damper) never had a issue with reliability or ride comfort.

    You can't say just cause price it's a no brainer I've heard of so many low end coil overs breaking going bad and for me number one factor is having my kids be safe when in my car there's much better if your looking for comfort and way safer

    • @TexasHondaChannel
      @TexasHondaChannel  4 года назад +5

      The price plus they ride good is the no brainer obviously if I was worried about price I would run the $40 sleeves on stock struts. But I’m not paying $700 for a coilover set that functions the exact same if not better and it only being $300 that’s the no brainer. Duh I have safety in mind I’m not a Biden supporter

    If the skunk 2 where new would be a better test

    • @TexasHondaChannel
      @TexasHondaChannel  4 года назад +1

      It would be but they aren’t brand new unfortunately. Also it wouldn’t have made a difference really because I have owned skunk2 brand new out-of-the-box and they wrote the exact same as the ones that were on the car really stiff they’re made for track set ups they’re not made for daily driving if you like bouncy cars then go for the skunk juice but they’re also $779 versus $300. Also the $300 ones are really good quality and last a long time there’s many videos proving this and I’ve personally ran them in the past

      @@TexasHondaChannel thanks for your honesty. Cheap doesn’t mean bad. I’ll say this from my experience;
      Skunk2 - Rode in 97 Civic - Bouncy
      CX Racing - Rode in 02 Lexus IS300 - Great all around!
      TruHart - ‘10 Evo - Soft n bouncy
      Racelands - 07 civic - soft, bouncy n terrible
      F&F type 2 - 07 RSX - Amazing!
      Megan EZ Street - 93 Accord - Great all around!
      K sport - 93 Accord - Stiff but good. Soft setting even kinda stiff
      BC Racing - Focus ST - Great all around!
