Any that say 92-00 Civic will work.
Just bought a set for my daily CRX. Lets see if I can do the install

What engine does this crx have sounds great af bro 😎
Dude good angle with the suspension camera. Thats what the ppl wanna see
Thanks man!!
RIGHTTT !? people never give a good review

@@GarageBuiltHondas how is the adjustable dampening? Do it really feel any different from all 24 clicks of adjustments? I have non adjustable racelands and wish I had got something with more for less
Jon I appreciate everything you do for the community, I've got a 90 civic si I love and do all the work on, I've learned a lot from you! Thank you!
Love to hear it, thanks for the feedback!
Great idea of putting the camera in the well... def never seen what that looks like before
The usual great tutorial and content, Jon. Love seeing that your dad enjoys and shares the same hobby as you.
I hope he continues to enjoy it. Time will tell!
Finally a good review of these with somebody that has experience with good suspension, instead of reading reviews that someone's dad sisters husbands grandfather seen on RUclips from their cousins brothers sister boyfriend friend who had a set who never put them on but said they were junk lol👍🏽
Lol 👍
Sadly I could keep up with all of that...
😁😁whole family except the person who do the review
Clueless this guy is not a mechanic or technician. I'm been in the trade and these coilovers are absolute rubbish
Awesome vid man, clean install and stance. Love the track footage
Greetings from Las Cruces NM! Great video! I have watched many videos on this brand of coil overs and they all were pretty biased and compared them to expensive and top of the line coil overs. Your review was honest and straightforward and I will definitely be purchasing these for my cd5!
Awesome man! Say hi if you ever catch me out somewhere!
The most comprehensive and well reviewed video for these coil-overs I've seen. I can't wait to put these on my 300zx. 👍
Instagram ?
These worked great with my 90 300zx! I loved the ride quality and I was able to achieve just the ride height I wanted.
Glad people have good reviews I’m going to get some for my 300 too
That's awesome you race with your dad. Cant wait to see a follow up in how they are holding up
👍
I really enjoyed this content, I'm new to building a 88crx awd (s-1built all d way baby) and this video have me sold on these coil overs so much goes into a build and when u don't know this is great!
one of the greatest 90's car even created imao, good driving skill too and finally thank you for your test, the camera on the dumpener is a fantastic plus
Thank you!
I actually love these coil overs they had decent ride comfort and do great on handling. I am gonna be getting me another set soon. I need to put some on this current civic. I have ran them before though. Glad you are doing videos people need to see. We need to collaborate some time. I’ll make a drive that way soon enough! Keep it up man love the content
Sounds like fun!
thank you for such a great review. this helps me out on trying to find a nice coilover for my daily eg8
They've been fine with me and I've had them for a over a year on my 1995 Honda civic ex. I first had them "maxed ' out on its lowest setting to " slam " the car and I recently raised it up and it's still a comfy ride. No excessive bouncing they feel fine to me
Nice, appreciate that feedback!
How long do they go ? I got some for my is300 but i want them tucking
No idea. I didn't test them out like that.
@@johnnyguzman5324 do you mean how long they last till you need to replace them or how low can you make the car?
Yeah i meant to say how low they can go
Just stumbled across your channel. You got my sub. Keep up the good work. Its dope to see you and your dad bonding over cars and spending some quality time at the track.
I threw some maxpeedingrods on my 2006 tsx. While they aren’t the best they are surprisingly really good for the price. Had em on for over a year. No issues.
Thanks for the comment and feedback!
I have a set of these on my 1998 golf and for the money, they are great . Not as good as the BC's on my Nissan, but for my VW they are just fine. not too stiff and handling is way better

Garage Built Hondas do you have the link for the same color ones you got?
Amazing video! Loved seeing the suspension in real motion!
Edit: it's these little touches of genius, that set this channel apart. I cannot recall when another presenter has taken the trouble to mount a camera in that exact place.
I'd like to do that at the track next time!!
@@GarageBuiltHondas If it's one of your videos, Jon, I know it's gonna be super awesome. You've got this watchability thing down pat!
Finally, a decent review of these lol. Was seriously considering these since i daily drive 99% of the time. No need to wear out a nice set of coils out on the road if these handle adequately. IMO.
Michael Peretto these are literally junk. I’ve personally seen 1 snap and 2 blew within 2 months. I could never recommend even if paid.
Do not buy these coilovers unless you want to replace your entire suspension in less than 3 months! They ride horrible no matter how you adjust the dampening!
Mine blew up in the box so
Iron Guts Speed Shop really. Seems like there’s a lot more that could factor into that such as they weren’t installed right Cause 99 percent of people say their good. Can you explain why they exploded ? Was this recently ?
@@EazyFieldsports seems like multiple people in this post were saying something about it fucking up their suspension, that's a hard no from me.
Fantastic video brother, I know I just commented on another video lol. But love the knowledge you showed and the camera angles. Love the copper pearl color of the crx. Very clean
Thanks man!! I don't mind comments one bit, I encourage them!!
I just came across your channel today. Great videos. Great reviews. I'm a huge fan of the EF and HF platforms, they're are becoming more and more rare and it's a shame. I'm glad to see others share the same respect for these old school beauties. Keep it up.
Thanks for the comment and support! It means a lot! 👍
@@GarageBuiltHondas if you ever decide to sell some, or need to buy something let me know. We still have a few in NJ that need some place with good weather to survive.
I use an exact copy of these coils on one of my cars they've been on for months now and they're doing just fine. Would definitely buy them again. Really great deal for only 200$
Agreed! Thanks for the info, love hearing other people's experience with these coils!
Great video, supporting your channel!!!
Thank you!
Just ordered a set of these for my 02 Mazda Protege SP20, seems like they’re solid!
I have them on my miata and my EF hatch.Good for a budgit suspension I just order stiffer springs for them ,with a little over 6k miles still feel good.
Thanks for the feedback John.
Awesome footage, I just ordered a set a few moments ago for my Rx8,supposedly the new set they have are better in quality seals and fluids,I hope so,
I had to order since the previous coilovers the rear left showing signs of leakage the whole bottom half is covered in oil.
(besides that it looks like it’s a different way to adjust height on it, doesn’t have that bottom collar ,I think to adjust it you got to take off bottom of coilover too spin it ,, odd because I never saw that style)
and since I got the car I always felt like the car was leaning a little to the back left then I saw the tire was having way more wear than the other three,
I was so close to getting the Godspeed ones but damn I rather pay less than half in stone that has more good than bad news.
Thanks Jon, through test and review, Cheers Greg from New Zealand
You're welcome
I have had the maxspeedingrods coil overs in my RX8 for nearly a year now and no complaints, they are stiff and well built and cheap as chips!
Is it good for long daily drive?? Not too much abuse but a good amount of use yk
@@sammylegaspi2214 yes they are, just remember they are stiff though so if you have an older car your plastic interior might rattle lol
Use them on my EK K20 hatch on the Nürburgring. Good budget option 💪🏻 56laps without any issue

Garage Built Hondas yesterday there the GP Track was Open and it’s really steal 🤞🏻🤞🏻
Am on the process to change all the shocks on my Ef hatch, am on budget and this coil overs looks good, my ef is a daily so i hope to this aren’t feeling to bumpy , cause the streets on country are a little bit “shi***”, thanks for the excellent review and help for the community bro ! Greetings from Honduras 🇭🇳
Greetings buddy! They are a pretty decent set for the price!
Jodel!
awesome thanks for the review of these i have this set on my 96 corolla good to know they can take track abuse
You're welcome
These seem great for being a budget coilover you can’t beat that price for the adjustability that you have especially if your a new driver learning to adjust suspension
I got the same maxspeedingrods for my 08 Civic Si back in 2017 and they were noisy, stiffness was ok but the real con is that the shocks blew within three months!! I then went with rokkor coilovers that use the stock top hats and it really made a huge difference in ride quality. It was way more comfortable, still stiff but not exaggerated Luke theaxspeedingrods and they lasted me over a year till I totalled my Si. The maxspeedingrods coilovers shocks were not adjustable though so idk if that would've made them last longer or gave me better ride quality but still the metal to metal top hats that come with the coilovers are noisy compared to rokkor that use stock oem top hats,so even for that reason alone I would stick with rokkor which are a bit more expensive but worth it.
Thanks for the input, good info!
Bro nice job you are another level kosei k1 and this sunspension are best choise. Keep going honda lover i hope to use a carbon hood 👍
Thanks buddy
Great video man, well done!!
Super vid, very informative! I shall make my purchase now. 😁
👍
Some are decent.. I had GODSPEED on my last Civic EJ1 and they were great. Not expensive and not cheap junk. They gave an excellent ride, and had adjustable damper.
I agree. I've seen some solid Megan ones also.
What a great review, love the camera in the suspension good to be able to compare the movements with the road surface. I think the company is doing fairly well in advancing their product which is good to see. To those saying low price Chinese parts don’t have longevity all I can say is I have this companies turbo on my landcruiser with no issues for 60,000km (I’ve seen far less from far more expensive turbos). I will definitely be getting a set of these for my Accord CD5.
Thank you! Appreciate the input you left also. Let's hope the company continues to improve on their project. I have a 6 month review video out on these coilovers now also.
Yep saw that too good to see they are lasting I’m hoping to buy and install mine in the new year😃
Look at how these "shocks" perform on a shock Dyno and you'll be shocked. 😅
There's zero dampening initially. About 5% dampening force as you'd expect there to be. Then later on in the high speed area they spike sky high in force all a sudden. It actually goes off the charts. What that tells you is they're progressive in category (Linear and digressive is what you want for a car, not progressive).
But not just that, the fact that it goes off the charts at the high speed area means only one thing.. the dampers shim stack it self is Max'd and isn't doing anything except compressing hydraulic fluid.
To say these are bad is an understatement. They're literally the most undesirable dampers you'd ever pick for your car. Zero body control, zero initial turn in response (other than what the springs are doing) and then when you hit a medium size pothole going over 30+mph, youll bounce up in the air (the force of the springs with no dampening) then when you come back down BAM the dampers suddenly apply their maximum force. They have tons of lag, no motion control, and are overwhelmed from an average pothole.
Cmon Be real guys . Do some research on these before you recommend them for others to get screwed by. You can get some real deal linear/digressive dampers twin tube or hell even monotube for just a little more money than what these cost and these are garbage shock🗑️shock🗑️ shock 🗑️ shock 🗑️
What I find amazing is the color of your CRX (orange-red) looks exactly like the color of my old one/parts car. It's interesting that two different people colored their CRX's the same. Or maybe the same person owned both yours and mine at some point and just loved that color. Painting style nearly matches as well, just sprayed haphazardly and on the trim pieces as well.
I believe some people liked the OEM maroon color found on them originally I actually really like this color. I'd like to get outside and paint the moldings back to black and try to chip the rest of the paint off of the bumper moldings too.
@@GarageBuiltHondas For the 10 years I had the orange one the only thing that ever threatened to take the orange paint off the trim was a good pressure washer. Sure a screwdriver or putty knife would have done the trick but back then it was still new to me and I didn't want it to get too scratched up.
Check this out, I collected a bunch of images of it and my most recent, '91 CRX HF, as you'll see my worries about it getting scratched up were all for nought: crx.serosis.net/
Thanks bro I'm in the middle of buying a set for my 05 corolla but after watching this I will get it and make sure I set it properly 😉 eBay coilovers 🤣
👍
I recently bought Mostplus brand adjustable coilovers for my '96 corolla
they came out to $295.54
the stock suspension (still installed) on my corolla feels sketchy cause its bouncy & specifically the rear driver side strut, it needs replacement asap
but its my daily so I don't want it stiff as a rock or too soft so I basically want the perfect balance of stiffness & softness so the ride quality is smooth
Its pretty rare to see actual track tests of this kind of product. Im surprised there wasnt any dislike of them at that performance.
They're solid for a weekend track kind of dude. This car is built to have a little fun, if you want to be more competitive then something better would be needed.
I bought some max speeding rods, I have done 500 miles on them and they're holding up great I would recommend :)
Thanks for your input! 👍

I have Maxpeedingrods coils on my SC300 and I was really surprised at how nice they rode.
I was super scared they would bounce like chopped springs. I'd say 1000% worth it.
Thanks for the input!
I’m putting in a set next Saturday in my SC300, how do they hold up?
@@patwebber1059 ran them up until I sold it a few months ago, ran fine. Only 2 issues I had: you can hear the rear shocks hiss when you go over bumps? And out of the box the spring preload was not set properly, so it rode uneven.
@ 5:44 man when i saw this i was kinda mad lol. My coilovers just arrived today and its way too hot to install them now. I figured id watch this just make sure i dont miss anything. Will do it tonight when its nice and cool.
Nice video on the tracks love it.

Nice! I would like a long term update on some of these cheap Chinese parts to see what your opinions are on them Jon. Sometimes these parts work really well in the short term but wear out quickly.
Definitely. After the last event I'll make an update, possibly a small video update on them even.
@@GarageBuiltHondas that would be great as I'm in the market for coilovers for my maxima and don't have a lot of funds for the higher end. Lowering springs won't work as I don't want camber bolts. Thanks.
@@johndoe9443 you're welcome!
Did I miss something? I wouldn't put skunk2 crap on any of my suspension. I learned that lesson with their cheap chinese adjustable cam gears that just about ruined my build.
Mines are comming in tomorrow for my civic, hipe it all goes well woth this budget coilover set

Jon, great review on these coilovers. I always wonder how they were. And the camera in the finder well, that was a great idea. I will have to try these out just to see on my daily.

Keep up the good work with the Rex. It’s looking good. 👍🏽

I'm not really an EG guy but you probably knew that. I'm just a huge fan of the EF's. I highly doubt I'd get one but if I did it'd have to be a coupe. My wife wants a Del Sol one day so maybe that'll pop up first.
Appreciate the support my man!!
Hello, Great Videos, they have helped me so much with just replacing parts on my CRX and Even watched your 07 Accord Brakes video. I purchased these coil overs for my CRX, any recommendation for removing the top Nuts on Rears? I cannot get a socket in there and all I can think of doing is removing the plastics to expose the top of the shock more. I am sure their is an easier way than removing that. Thanks.
Long socket will work with a 3/8" ratchet. That's what I do.
I got my coilovers installed on my '96 corolla today
huge ass difference lol
just wish my city had a race track
👍
@@GarageBuiltHondas my corolla only has 105hp (which is really slow) & if my city had a race track, I would test them out anyway & see how my car performs on coilovers
You should...we have a few 100hp older Hondas that race at our track. They're still fun to drive.
Love the budget coilover option man. While im with you in purchasing the most cost effective mods, inexpensive coilovers never hold up the as their more expensive counterparts. The fluid and seals seem to degrade rapidly when put to track use or just daily driving on crap roads. It would be interesting to see a long term review of these after a few track days.
That B16 sounds nice 👌👌
I'm curious too. Maybe this could be a company that actually keeps trying to make better products and make a name for themselves. They all have to start somewhere.
I agree. Have to start somewhere! Can’t expect a product to come out excellent at the beginning.. how are they holding up so far?
No issues for me so far!!
these were actually on my last miata when i got it, they were pretty shot and had cut springs so i cant really comment on how good they were lol

Thanks for the help! ;)
No prob
Sadly I still haven't got the issue of the factory defective adjustment knob resolved after 2 weeks of emailing back and forth between someone with broken English from China. Took almost a week to finally get someone to respond. Beware ppl, customer service is almost non existent if you are unlucky enough to need it. That being said, Ive had mine on for a little more than 3 weeks and I really like them otherwise. I changed the preload and set it to basically zero bc their preload was completely different in each coilover. Also running nearly a 3 finger gap with a couple clicks away from full stiff... On 3 out of 4 corners at least 🤣
I hope they take care of you!
Been hearing mixed reviews on these so I’ll try the rev9 coil overs or stick with tein for my fg2.
They're hit or miss. I have a set on a Corolla that are going 2 years no issues. Made me buy another set for my IS 300 and the one on the front driver side was bottoming out right out of the box, the rear passenger was making a noise right out the box as well. Almost 6 months later, 3 out of the set are total shit. Customer service's suggestion was to buy another set.

Hello! Quick question. Do you need anything aftermarket to make them fit? I know some coil overs you have to upgrade certain parts to make the coil overs fit. Thank you.
No.
