Quality is a key essential when buying car parts, especially when it comes to suspension. There are many different coilover brands that you can choose from but there is one that we usually tend to skip over… and that is the “ebay coilover”. Today we break down what ebay coilovers are and find out if they are worth it. Let us know your thoughts down in the comments below!

Still stock. Looking into Gecko for mines.
Koni yellows with Eibach springs going on my 2012 MazdaSpeed 3 this weekend or next. Original stock ones from when I bought it new starting to give up (61K daily driver miles) and the right rear spring broke like they commonly do on the Mazda 3 line.
Lowering spring from tien on both Outback and wrx because they are daily drivers.
I’ve got eBay specials that came with my G35, previous owner put them on, honestly they’re actually not that bad
Me buying EBay coilovers after this video and telling people I have BC Racing coilovers

josepla yer21 this shit made me laugh more than you would think hahaha
Laughed hard as fuck at this
Same here man eBay coilovers are nothing compared to that cut spring life
Bro fucking same, I sent it hard with my 11th gen Corolla cz j wanted to be low, I risked my life and car to be low so eBay isn’t all that bad if anything improved my car 11110000000 million times more than the cut springs ctfu, shit same with my ek civic I never once had an issue with my eBay coilovers I installed on it. Only issue is I had to modify holes in the actual coilovers cz bolts where to thick for the tiny little holes they had 😂 bruh when I say I had a bumpy fucking ride , it was terrible
I took the car in a cornfield on cut springs dawg not intentionally lol so if I can trust the car coming out alive on that ima say eBay is good for the price lol

Facts
I’m definitely guilty when it comes to the topic of “did I ever consider buying these?”. Y’all did too, don’t frickin lie 😂
I had people who got them to put on daily drivers. They are great for lowering but don’t expect a soft ride. They are great for track use. If your looking to lower your car but keep ride quality go for lowering springs or higher end coils overs. The max speeding rods last a good time my friend has them on his focus and 2 1/2 years later they still ride good however the paint is cheap and will chip off easy. Don’t go for the 200$ one get the 300$ with adjustable dampener. Once you get them the first week will be horrible but once you break them in the will get better. And before install them put anti seize on it and lube around the top so it doesn’t clunk or squeak. I was gonna put them on my 05 wrx but I don’t track it I daily drive it so please consider lowering springs if you care about ride quality. And to those people saying it’s junk you never owned them nor tested them. Do your research before you spread misinformation about them.
Ebay has so many made-up brands of coilovers. The same Chinese factory making 20 different fake brands. Sorry but $500 isn't going to get you a good set of coilovers. Their damper valving will be poor quality, and they probably have never been track-tested by anyone with real experience. Some of them don't even tell you what the spring rate is, much less allow you to choose your own rates.
One thing I did love about the Maxpeedingrods was that when I asked the seller to supply me with adjustable dampers (i originally had the non adjustable), they sent me some for about 80 bucks, which was a surprise considering they're eBay coilovers lol
80's Boombox Collector that’s why it’s called “budget” and I bought race land before and Max speeding rods befor to test. Pretty similar but the eBay ones have cheaper paint and you will have to lube them up before installing. And I used them for my Subaru Outback for track use and the work great for the price. Don’t expect them to be as good as 500+ coils your trying to compare. Next time actually buy the product and test it out before you spread out misinformation you boomer.
I doubt cheap eBay coil overs are great for “track use”
Harsh conditions for some Chinese parts..
I can say the same for maybe eBay turbos and such
Lol, don’t track cheap coilovers unless you want to revalve or replace them after every track use
Where the ebay built boys at. We stay bouncin on the coils

So far I haven’t broken anything with mine.
How long you been on them?
Maxpeedingrods on my 3G Eclipse sitting on 18x9.5 lowered to about 5” off the ground (or the Height of an iPhone 11 Max 😂). They have been put through their paces and honestly, they are adjustable as hell with the exception of dampers. From track use to road use they’ve held pretty damn well.

For security with this stuff, check the reviews before you buy it.
Reviews can tell ya a lot of important information that you might not see in the 'about' section.
That can point you in the right direction, and stay safe people.
On Ebay. No one really gives reviews
I went with Ebay special coilovers on my first build an ls integra. I didn't expect a good quality. But I have been pleasantly surprised with them for the cost.

@@hodgee3643 maxspeedingrods I think
I put maxpeeding coils on my civic, and I love the ride, they ride pretty decent, and handle well. And the best part is they were 200$! (on sale, and a discount code) To be clear I didnt max them out, which plays a part into them feeling better. Also they have dampener adjustment that works pretty well. I highly recomend them to anyone who is trying to get a little bit lower, but not slammed, and is on a strict budget.

my experience is as follows. im gonna get shit for it but i own several 92095 eg civics.
my first one was a dedicated daily driver with emusa coilovers on it, matched with lenso vpd 15" wheels and federal 595s. took it to the track and they performed exactly how i thought. tight in the corners and a rough ride anywhere else. it felt like a "rAcE CaR"
fast forward to when i picked up my second eg, they have fuction and form type 1's. little bit more expensive coil over and let me fucking tell you something, comparing a name brand ike f&f to an ebay brand was just hilarious. the ride quality was soft enough that i didnt have to look like a drunk driver dodging every pot hole in the ground, the corners were tight enough to hold balance through them, the ride feels like stock height, and get this, THEY HAVENT SIEZED up since having them on there for 5 years lmao.
point is - you get what you pay for, im again buying another set of f&f's regardless if theyre $600. this hobby isnt cheap.
Honestly have had ebay covers in my eclipse for like 3 months and as long as you get the ones with dampening adjustment they can ride nice and handle well. My friends with tien and megans interact heir car have said that it feels like a set of 800$ coils. The life of then are definitely shorter that your top end products but honestly you can't beat it for the price
eBay parts are completely hit and miss from what I've seen... Sometimes you get something that fits the need and works just fine, other times you get something that doesn't fit, or doesn't actually work as described. So... Customer reviews tell you everything. And if you buy something that doesn't have a customer review... Please review it once your bought and tried it out. For the sake of everyone else out there trying to cheap out as you have.

Man my toyota tercel is probably 1000$ and the coilovers cost 950$ 🤦🏾♂️
Yes they are worth it,
Some lessons are learned the hard way
They are worth it only if you go for quality and proven engineering. Sorry but $500 won't get you a good quality set of coilovers.
Or you realize that 500 dollars is too cheap when all the name brands cost 1k and up.
@@alexstromberg7696 Yep. But these kids just look at the Ebay photos and assume they're all the same, so hey let's just buy the cheapest ones, yo. Or they listen to some scrub on a forum who says they're great just because they've lasted 8 months so far lol, or saying "they ride awesome", neglecting to mention that they're bouncy as hell because the dampers aren't good quality.
80's Boombox Collector you keep commenting with this snobby mentality but at the end of the day for 2-300 dollars they are not bad. Your comparing 300 dollar coils to 1000 dollar coils. Of course the top dollar ones are good nobody is saying they suck. We are just saying that for the price they are good, I’ve seen maxpeeding on multiple vehicles last a while and people on here that have legitimately tested them and they are okay. Not amazing nor superb but they are okay for the price
Bet if that "no name brand" coilover brand, (maxspeedingrods) cough cough........ agreeded to use them as a wholesaler all that untrue shit talk would disappear
Got TRD springs on factory shocks on my daily (reliable) FRS, and eBay coilovers on my project/fun/ slammed (no shits to give about comfort) Integra. EBay coilovers are just eBay coilovers. They are good if you don't expect a lot out of them other than to lower your car.
I was planning to buy a set for my 01 celica. But i heard a thing that it doesn't drop at the rear. Can you please tell me anything about that?
I have the orange set of maxpeedingrods coilovers shown in the video and they are very well built, the lower the car nicely, and have been amazing for auto cross on my 2010 impreza wagon, the ride quality isnt the worlds best but it isnt terrible, not too much different from my old BCs on my 2g eclipse.
I got the yellow maxpeedrods for my Mazda 3. Yes, they’re stiff but that’s what I preferred especially if my main goal is just lowering my car without the fear of bottoming out.
That’s the pro side of the coilovers, the con side is the horrible built coil overs.
I had experienced snapped end links because the front coilovers was actually spinning around in the knuckle. The company that made these coilovers didn’t take that into account.
Also, I had a bad set. It would make noise when turning the wheel. Like banjo strings plunking.
The customer service behind the coilovers is trash. Tried to get in contact with someone about the problems, no response... ever.
If you’re tight on cash, just want to lower your car, doesn’t track your car, think luck is on your side to get a set with no problems, can fix a problem with the coilovers if you do happen to run across them, then I would get them. From my experience, it’s a hard NO.
I got 350€ fk's with height and stiffness adjustability and they work great
What brand?
FK for 350? Nah sorry, i prefered to search for a second hand set of KW V1.... and got them for 400 done.

Ebay might not make coilovers, but they help China dump tons of cheap-shit ones on our shores. They've got like 20 fake brands dreamed up by the same 2-3 factories.

I have had my for a month and they aren’t half bad . Why pay 1k for some adjustments when all I want is to be on the ground
Less than a year in after installing ebay coilovers and the shock blew through the top hat.. 💥awesome.
I bought them because my Imprezas rear strut is broken and 1 factory strut is like 400 so why not spend 400 on a pair of Coilovers and I get to lower the car
They work just fine on cheap cars that’s it.

Godspeed are good for the money. But for the price, you might as well get racelands for the lifetime warranty
Awhile back I purchased “rokkor” coilovers. Which were re branded racelands.
One issue I had was camber maxed out on the front left tire. I solved with with camber bolts. They lasted about 3 years until the ride became too bouncy. Switched to rev9 coils. Better shock adjustment same price, 4 years later and still riding as if new.
Bryan C rokkors were like adjustable springs lol. Too soft but cheap
How you gonna bash ebay coilovers when you make a killing off fake wheels lol
Never have I bought Ebay coilovers.
If you're too "broke" to buy quality parts, don't build a car at all. Simple.
Either save up and do it right the first time. Be patient, do research. You're wasting your money in the long run buying cheap shit while you "wait" to buy the name brands.
So many people don't even know what's inside a coilover or how it works. So they don't understand why some coilovers are better than another. You really have to learn how they're built and what's inside, how the valving works, and you should analyze the company literature to see how much experience they have, whether they've track-tested them on each car they sell it for, and how many racers use them and vouch for them. The best companies don't charge $2K+ for their coilovers just because of the brand name, they do it because it's a high quality piece of gear that costs a lot to make.
Reighner Gargantos people like you are the opposite of what the car community stands for. it’s sad really. building and customizing cars is something that brings people together for events, competitions, photo shoots, and so much more. i’ve made so many friends and had so many good memories because of my car and the community around cars. I’ve never made enough money to buy the best parts or the nicest car. But it doesn’t matter. It’s about taking something and putting time, money, blood, sweat, tears, hatred, and passion into it to make a car into what you envision and then sharing what you made with other enthusiasts. A car full of eBay parts isn’t worthless because of that. It’s just balling on a budget because it’s an expensive hobby that everyone can be a part of, not just the people who make stupid amounts of money. Obviously parts from places like eBay are lower quality, but saying “don’t build a car at all” is pathetic. I’d rather build a shitbox with cheap parts and love the fuck out of it than be too scared of entitled people like you crushing my project because i can’t afford the best. Sad.
@@notevenchris It may be harsh but the message serves a purpose. When you buy cheap parts, you take a risk that they'll either break in a short period of time, or you won't like the way it performs. That's why you can't buy stuff on price alone. I mean people spend hours researching which phone to buy, and they rarely buy the cheapest one, so why can't that be true for coilovers too?
80's Boombox Collector I understand what you’re point is, but I don’t think the analogy applies. A phone is something you use everyday for school, work, the internet, social media, texting etc. It’s essential for most people’s daily lives. Coilovers aren’t essential for daily lives. Having a custom car isn’t essential, it’s a hobby/ passion. So spending $1,000 on a new phone that i’m gonna use every single day for hours and hours and get countless utility out of isn’t the same as spending $1,000 on a suspension for my 2001 Z3 just so I can sit a few inches lower and take corners a little harder. But budget setups that are more affordable for my income and can still get me to that stance i’m looking for just makes sense for a kid in my position
Yeah I hear you. But honestly, you're better off taking that $500 and using it to buy a matched set of springs and struts from a legit company like Eibach or H&R who's been in the business for decades. They might not lower as much as coilovers would, but I doubt massive lowering was your objective with a Z3.

Oh shit we early early
I can buy 10 sets of cheap coilovers with 2years warranty each for the same price as one expensive set. Of course, the expensive ones are better, but id say ebay coils are definitely worth their price. I had cheap coils on my first car (mk5 gti) and never ran into any issues with it. Adjustability was great, and they even installed them for me for only 40 euros extra (they weren't technically ebay coilovers since I didnt get them on ebay, but they are the same price and quality as ebay ones). If you're on a tight budget, or your car just isn't worth expensive coilovers I dont see how you could go wrong, especially if they offer two year warranty. 200 bucks for 2 years guaranteed seems like an absolute steal to me.
I was stupid and bought eBay MaxPeedingRods coilovers for my 350z, they were great for about 3 months, until my rear struts blew out, I replaced those with two brand new ones, that lasted about 2 months before blowing out, along with one of the front ones. Basically it was a waste of about $300 after all was said and done. Do yourself a favor, if you want cheap coils, buy the cheapest teins they make for your car, at least those will last a while longer.
My corolla is worth 1000$. Name brand coilovers would be worth my entire car. I’m gonna go ahead and stick with some budget ones...wish me luck lol

They could withstand daily driving and track/ canyon driving just fine. Rides a little harsh but for the cost and what I got out of them, it’s not bad at all.
I got coilovers from eBay and they doing okay lmao
I got race land but it’s only temporary until I got the funds to buy name brand 😬
Why not just save the money you spent on the cheap coilovers and go for the good coilovers right away? Yeah, you'll have to wait a little longer but...then you have your coilovers you want...
Mikeoo How are you liking your Racelands? I was thinking of buying some because I’m broke too 😂
Mikeoo I would also like to know
Mikeoo I got my eibach lowering springs from Ebay. Brand new and about 100 something less than what the eibach site wanted. I plan on get some BC racing coilovers from there this summer, they're about $990 and shipping's free
BeenLeanin/ Media* counterfeit eibach springs and NGK plugs on eBay and Amazon
$2000 civic? Yeah, definitely not putting $1500 coilovers on it, Ebay it is!!
Dammit reading some of the comments, now have to break the bank 😣
Believe it or not, the eBay special helped me lower my es300 lmao. Definitely would slam my Ls430 on BCs though
How do you guys/gals feel about Godspeed?
So is it worth it? As I'll only be buying ebay coilovers.
Purchased a set last week. Simply because they were a third of the price for stock replacement shocks
Godspeed makes quality coilovers called the mono max. They are considered ebay but are legit.
What about TruHart
The thing is, you can get pretty much every brand you mentioned...from Ebay too😩
I ran racelands on my 7th gen civic , they were ok for a little less then a year. Went with the good ol ebay maxspeeding rods coilovers. I liked the overall design and set up alot better then the Racelands. Ended up using the Raceland springs on the Ebay coilovers. It's the best of both worlds, better ride, able to lower it where I wanted
CXRacing Coilovers almost $600 rides perfect! Oh I bought that off eBay 👌🏽👌🏽
These are my coilovers specs. I know nothing. Is this any good?

NO guys. They are NOT worth it
Sid -nova bro they are budget friendly and they work great. Not a lot of people have 700+ for better coils.
There are name brands that are $400
Literally race land and max speed rods feel exactly the same no difference believe it or not.
It’s just a name and prices go up.
The ride quality is terrible
#Maxpeedingrods are kinda the best on a budget, I have a set on my Volvo of all cars and love the ride.
hey Gels, when are we getting a Meaghan Coilover review? like are they "ebay" coilovers or what?
