Twin-tube is not at bad design depending on what you're aiming for in a shock. Twin-tube gives you more stroke length to work with than with a mono-shock with an IFP piston. The adjuster on the top of BC is like any other rebound adjuster.. It's a bypass port within the shock shaft so when you close it the oil is directed more on to the shock piston and the valving stack. The good part of having this adjuster is you get something to go by when testing different valving. However, When the adjuster only affects rebound you have a check valve installed so the oil only flows via the bypass on the rebound-stroke. I have serviced BC coil-over and other brands but hands down BC I better to work on and the build quality is actually really good. On my daily driver, I use Bilstein B6 because it's the best upgrade over the stock Sachs on BMW e91 the stock setup is super soft for comfort but that's not good on bad roads...
Correct, Twin Tube shocks have now increased their technology as well. Thats why high end companies like JRZ and Moton use them. The adjuster on the BC Racing one-ways always simultaneously adjust compression and rebound which effects the pressure tuning of the shock. This is bad; makes it more prone to Hysteresis, Seal Drag, and Cavitation.
I want to do this but I heard they can seize in the winter due to salt, cold, & snow but if you live in a place where you get no snow they should be good to go unless there's something you can use to protect them
