I was one of the guys who requested a video like this, and I just want to say a huge thank you for putting this together, and doing it so quickly! Excited to try this out in some of my games.
So basically you snake out the warriors, like tentacles of an octopus. The base has the auras that boost the warriors and their healing, the goal being board control rather than just sending a block of necron warriors out to take fire on their own.
Kind of like Sam Pope's WCW Tyranids list. Incredibly powerful and annoying to deal with set of tech, especially since Necron warriors have even more OC and better saves and toughness than the termagants and you even get a 4++ on one unit 😩 This is probably weaker than the invasion fleet nids version as they can give their unit 5+++ and they have stealth + benefit of cover from venomthropes and are 80 points cheaper per 20. Both are great, but I think being 120pts and a reactive move instead of 200pts is probably better than having +1T +1OC and better regeneration. All that said, necron units regen before your command phase checks for primary, so this may be enough better on that front to be worth.
This video couldn’t have come at a better time. designed a 40x warrior list based off a tournament where this guy played a 40x warrior with all the excess reanimating bulk, he went 5x 20-0.
Great video as always! I was wondering if it would be a good idea to have a mix of gauss flayers and gauss reapers in this warriors unit since the warriors that are doing the string back to our auras will never get in shooting range of the reaper unless the ennemy really rush forward. I know they don't do much damage and they are most likely to waste more of our time in comp games than actually killing things but I think it can be a little optimization in this playstyle. Also, isn't it better to play a Royal Warden instead of the Overlord? I get the -1CP and Orb are really usefull but having fall back and shoot/charge and ignore battle shock really help this warrior brick, specially if we are going to charge units to tie them up and get extra resurrections? The only thing that I miss in this video is Szeras positionning, would you keep him safe behind the ruins or expose him to soak some damage from the warriors?
Absolutely fantastic video! Love these kinds of tricks and I'll probably watch this video like 20 more times and practise at home before taking it to a game :D You are a master my dude!
I’ve switched from wraiths to warrior brick in my awakened list as the core anvil. I know the basic tricks for reanimation but these advance ones, especially with breaking coherency mid turn is neat.
So, if i have a Warrior unit lead by a Necron Overlord with res orb next to a reanimator, i could heal x2 D3 in the command phase. Then they overwatched, and i pop a stratagem to heal them, x2 D3 again. And when i charge something later in same turn with the Reanimator supervising, and i lose more models to the counter punch, i can use the Res orb, getting another D3 + D6 models? Another question regarding scoring with RP. Isn´t RP at the end of the command phase and scoring primary is at the start?
Great video as always. In your scenario at the end where you have charged and are engaged with another enemy unit but only with a couple of models at the front, how are the models in the rest of the unit allowed to move presuming you get back round to your movement phase?
How does ghost ark target multiple warriors units per turn? Was that what you meant? Wording seems to say it can only use the ability once per turn and only target one unit. Cheers
Another great video bro, these are really helping me as a new necron player. one thing you didnt quite touch on - can you use the awakened stratagem AND the ghost ark ability in the same phase, immediatley after a single enemy units fights? i.e can they both trigger simultaneously for 2d3+2d3+1? (reanimator in range obv)
Can anyone explain the fall back move at like min 21:44? Wouldnt you break coherency if some models are falling back over enemy models to get on this objective?
@@YouveGotRyan the way he showed the move was towards the enemy backfield objective marker. Wouldnt enemy units be between the warriors and the objective?
@TheTraderRoo i mean there could be! Screening could help prevent the warriors from getting back there but your opponent would still have a mess on their hands. It would also need to be a purposeful thing, like a 10 man unit of guardsmen in a line, to prevent the warriors from doing this.
Can anybody explain to me where a ghost ark heals 2d3? Looks like they heal one necron army at the end of the shoot/fight. But nothing says it does that twice.
@@ketchuppacket3090 A Canoptek Reanimator states that whenever your Reanimation Protocol's activate that unit reanimates an additional d3 wounds. The ghost ark states that you trigger that warrior unit's Reanimation Protocols. This means that you would heal d3 from Reanimation Protocols and an extra d3 since the Reanimator buffs reanimation protocols. Notably almost all of the healing abilities Necrons' have trigger Reanimation Protocols. For example, an Overlord's Ressurection Orb states you trigger reanimation protocols but with a d6 instead of a d3 so if that unit was near a reanimator it would heal d6+d3. Healing Stratagems like Awakened Dynasty's Protocol of the Undying Legion states you trigger reanimation protocols but it is d3+1 if that unit is being lead meaning if you use it on a unit being led near a reanimator it would be 2d3+1.
But It IS not per necron warriors unit per turn... Ir specifies you can only use the ability once per turn. Also It specifies that you cannot use 2 arks on the same necron warriors unit.
10 lychguard can be used in a similar way (at least in terms of reviving through walls). Just need to know the capabilities of your opponent's units. Dont expect 10 lychguard to survive an activation from 10 possessed, for instance.
Used a 20x warrior with Orikan, crypto thralls, and a royal warden buffed by a ghost ark, reanimator, and Illuminor against Deathwing and a 10 man block of terminators and 5 man of deathwing kinights couldn't kill it. This block is amazing
Where does it say that you can't reanimate off of reanimated models? In reanimation protocols technically you resolve the reanimation one by one, no? So you reanimate one model, then start over the reanimation protocol for the wound pool, which means now the previous model you just reanimated exists and can be reanimated off of, no? Is there something I'm missing? Was there a FAQ here? IN any case, as long as all units are in coherency when you finish, why would there be a restriction on where you can reanimate?
Rule Clarification: Ghost ark Reanimation is once per turn per Ghost Ark for a warrior unit

I luv the look on people's faces when you reanimate creep your warriors up the board 😂
It is quite hilarious

I dont see why not, Scoring primary is at end of command
Primary mission VPs specifically say "at the end of the Command Phase". They both happen at the end.

Love these vids my fellow overlord.
So all of the units on the home objective stay put thou-out the game? they never move?
They can, it does depend on situation

Fallback and move forward in your turn
So helpful, thank you!
Much appreciated! Glad you are here!

My pleasure!

"The same necron unit cannot be selected for this ability more then once per turn"
I do believe it is just once per turn period. The cannot be targeted portion is for having multiple ghost arks

From the legend himself!
I do like these videos but would be good to see these starts on a UKTC map
This kind of list is a lot better on a more closed-off map where you can pull out of LoS and then regen back on the point.

Grear video anyway as usual 😁 sadly this Will be now the Next nerf
Really noob question, what does the eye mean on the map layout? 😅
What if you toss trazyn stickying the objective?
Well, i don't normally have the option to res... my units (except wraiths) are wiped as soon as something breezes them
Yes, most necron units aren't exceptionally tough. These tips are more geared towards wraiths and warriors specifically.
