This entire crew should be immensely proud. The effort going into this project is inspirational. Please keep your heads up throughout development. It must be stressful making a video game, best of luck.
Everything about this is beautiful, and as a Half-Life fan, it's exactly what this community has needed for years. I've had my reservations about creating a Half-Life 'sequel' in the Unreal Engine, and I've wondered how a group outside of Valve could hold up to their quality standard with a fan-made project, but this soundtrack is the final confirmation I need. The distant arctic wind blowing throughout the song, the faint humming of the Vortigaunt, and the excerpt from Path of the Borealis at 3:05 and beyond is more than enough confirmation for me that Project Borealis is in great hands. I wish the PB team the best of luck in your future endeavors.
This could be your main menu picture, just get this aurora and smoke moving, all else static, and please kepp the awesome music :-) it would be a great first impression loading into main menu Nice job team, looking forward for a purchase...
Great idea mate, but I'd add some kind of "live wallpaper" thing as well, like a background depending on the last level you played on or something like that
Ive just listened too all of the new music and all I have too say is... Wow you've got it too a bloody tee exceptional work please take your time with this.
This is really beautiful, I think this project is in the right hands :) While I liked the DnB style in a lot of HL2's fight music, my favorite tracks will always be those weird synth pieces like "Particle Ghost," and "Slow Light." I hope there are at least one or two of those really stand out type tracks in the finished project
We stepped out of the ruins of the helicopter to assess the damages and determine if there was any way we could get it to fly again. The arctic wind whipped us and sent a chilling reminder of what would happen if we lingered for too long. This climate was unforgiving as is, stopping for a rest instead of keeping our blood pumping would certainly be a deadly mistake. Alyx (being the tinkerer she was) tried for 20 some minutes before giving in to the vessel's demise. Once she had decided there was nothing she could do, she took a moment to stamp the ground in anger before salvaging a few morsels of supplies in her coat and told me we needed to move. So it was the long trudge through the wasteland. Though unlike our past wasteland adventures, we now had to contend with a blizzard. Blistering cold wind sent snow and ice flying at our faces. It seemed there was little more in front of us besides more of the same. But there had to be something, some safe haven from the flurry and chaos. So we went looking. Hours passed, and all we could find was somewhat-motivating beautiful view of the northern lights. By now the blizzard had picked up and the deafening wind made it almost impossible to hear Alyx's voice, and even being able to see the familiar sight of Eli's green jacket that she had taken with her was getting difficult, so in an effort to stay together we attached a metal link to each other. This made it harder to maneuver, but it was preferable to losing each other in the snow. At the very worst, one of us could drag the other along if they collapsed. By hour three or four I'd reached my breaking point, and with hope for shelter dwindling I wanted to sit for a little while. Alyx yelled something like "you know we can't stop, Gordon! We have to keep going!" over the roar, but I didn't care, I was so tired and exhausted. I figured the HEV suit's systems would keep me warm enough to live, so I lied down in the snow, a massive relief after everything that had happened today. She couldn't move me so instead Alyx grunted as she detached the cord holding us together and (I think) gave me the finger as she walked away into the white. I couldn't process much of what was happening anymore and a few minutes after she was gone, I faded out. When I came to, the blizzard had stopped. It was day and, as I had hoped from my (admittedly stupid and reckless) decision, I was NOT dead. Alyx was nowhere to be found, though. I started to worry that she'd been captured. We knew the Combine were headed up north as well because of the information they'd gotten from killing Eli, and they would absolutely be trying their best to kill us too to obtain control of the Borealis before we did. As my mind began to spiral I noticed some equipment next to me that definitely wasn't there when I'd gone out. It didn't look Combine in origin, maybe Alyx had found a safe haven after all. She either had to be close or VERY caring if she'd walked back here to take care of me. I got up, dusted myself off, and went looking. There were footsteps leading to and from the direction I saw her walk off before, which meant the blizzard had stopped a while ago. The footsteps lead to a cave, carved out into the ice by millennia of ancient waters. I found her close to the mouth, crouched down and shivering. When she saw me a flash of joy lit up her face for a moment, followed by seething anger. She got up and slapped me across my face, she also tried kicking and punching the suit, but was so weak at this point that she lost her balance and collapsed down on her knees instead. I think a part of her was still happy to see me, even after that. After a brief silence she told me that she'd wanted to explore the ice cave, that she'd seen some human-looking outpost down there, but she heard some noises suggesting it was infested with some form of life, definitely hostile. Apparently not even the frozen tundra could stop the humble headcrab, who she'd said she already had to narrowly escape death from a furry version of the bugger trying to latch onto her. She couldn't push through on her own, but now that I was here we might have a chance. I didn't have many of my weapons anymore, but what else was there to do? We traveled into the cave, Alyx leaning on my shoulder, hoping to find something, anything that would help us survive.
Your helicopter crashes, you and Alyx enter an ice cave to take shelter from the snow storm. As you continue through the cave you exit out of the other way and look up in the sky, as the Aurora Borealis is gazing at you. *music starts playing*

@GoTi4No Laidlaw knew that the fans would make the game, I think thats one of the reasons why he decided to write the epistle.

Has a bit of hl2 vibe in all the track I think ^^ Not really intense but for example in the end you can hear "triage at dawn" in the background ;)
