While it's not a bad build per se, if you want to be a skill monkey the Archaeologist Bard is really the way to go. You give up 1 skill point per level compared to the rogue, but you get 1/2 of your level to all lores, all knowledges, perception, and trickery. Plus the ability to take 10 on trickery checks. You lose your innate rogue sneak attack, but bards have sense vitals to grab up to 5d6 sneak attack when buffed.
One last thing: you're also the first build maker I've seen on youtube who talks more exhaustively about companions in rapport to your builds, most people stop at "you'll probably have a guy in your group who has that." This build here however is the first one I've seen who is fully taking into account the presence of companions
A lot of people want me to work on a solo build but I've played enough role-playing games to know that there's so much story and Essence involved in the character development of your companions. But from what I seen everybody loves Tristan I just can't stand him Octavia is my girlfriend though don't tell my wife
@@ArcaneAgent I have a hunch that, if you play a rogue based on attacks of opportunity like this; with somes skills very (especially stealth but also use magic device) that you might like to include nok-nok in your group at some point. Because, it seems that two such characters could ehance each other very well. Also, at earlier levels, a monster tactician might also be of great help. I also found that turned Amiri into a freebooter while keeping linzi pure bard for 10 or so levels works wonders: Inspire courage+freebooter bond+Freebooter bane (plus say heroism from linzi) really boosts a party capacity to hirt and do damage ... especially if smilodons are involved (smilodonS ... plural :P) PS: won't tell your wife about octavia ... good thing she's polyamorous though :P

If you fail to disarm a trap by 4 or less you can retry. If you fail to disarm a trap by more then 5 you trigger the trap (this is, at least, in pnp pathfinder).
Yes I understand that you can keep trying to disable a trap. But it just doesn't really make sense at all because in fact if I were messing around with a bear trap and I failed to disable it I could lose my hand. If I failed to disable a lock I might Jam the lock
@@ArcaneAgent I have no doubt, because RUclips has gone totally bonkers. They're demonetizing such a superb educational channel as "The Great War". It's crazy!
23:00 I find it it kinda weird scrolls aren't used up on a failed umd check and you can keep trying until it succeeds with same scroll. In nwn they were one shot tries and the scroll crumbled on a failed check. I guess I am not quite used to Pathfinder ruleset yet... ^^' I am guilty of the hoarder reflex of saving potions/scrolls until late game as well, trying to find the perfect moment of using them, and forgetting about them in the end. :P
Yes it doesn't make sense that you can keep rolling use magic device on a scroll 30 times until you pass it but if you fail a locked chest one time you have to level up and come back and reroll again
@@ArcaneAgent True, that was weird too. Added both Octavia and Lindzi to the party in my first game (druid) for that reason. At the moment, if one (Lindzi) fails, the other succeeds.
What a strange but original build! I am wondering if some feats could not be replaced to take advantage of that huge persuasion skill level you'll get at some point of the game. Some general comments about your video kingmaker: 1. Don't take it the wrong; what I am gonna say might strange and like a thumbs down but is anything but : You are not the best build maker on the internet out there ... which oddly makes you the best I've seen. Why? Because you know it, and since you know it, you're getting better with. Also, you're the first one to make so much effort to show what your builds look like in game, without trying to sugarcoat its weaknesses. And while some guys on youtube might be better at this, they often fail to double check their build in the game, often focusing on 20th level galore only, forgetting it's not an MMO but a single player game. 2. Speaking of which, you talked about using one your build for a real full game and post it here (the high save sorcerer build I believe). I am really hoping to see the build in full action soon. And having personally tested it a bit (till lelvel 8), I can tell you it has a lot of potential ;) Just a single piece of advice on that build, you do not need 15 strength anymore, since smilodons and pets in general seem to add to total carrying capacity, and having a higher CON score makes you less squishy ... and requires you to rest less often (yes CON has a big impact there, anyone who had Octavia for some time in their group probably know why I am talking since she's often the first to get tired, starting with CON of 8°. Anyways; kuddo and good continuation with your channel, hoping to see your full LP of kingmaker one of these days ;) The reach magus seems it might works as well btw PS: Forgot to add a few comments on this particular build, like I said theres the persuasion thingy but also the use device skill and I am wondering if, feat wise, it might not be preferrable to give it priority early since it opens all those scrolls, staves and so on early to your build (and kuddos for pointing out the tendency of players like you or me to hoard stuff ... and not use it, another reason why I might try this build, but with the focus on use magic device early). Cheers :)
I was working on a build where every single feet was going to be a skill check feet. But I knew that that would be boring for people as they keep asking me as well to get some more combat feats in there. I'm still toying with the idea of what kind of character class I would do a playthrough with. Of course I'm in love with casters and Rogues. So I think it would need to be some blend of those which always brings me back to an Arcane trickster type build. I do need to work more on my bills and I don't know that much about the Pathfinder as I would. I'm always torn between making Powerhouse overpowered builds and just unique but fun builds
Since Tristian is a ecclisetheurge and can't use armor, I made him take 2 levels of monk for evasion (best ability in the game) and the sweet AC from wisdom. More cleric levels gives you more spells to heal/buff. but if you want more dmg you could go for more monk levels. And make sure you're human for more free feats and skills, you can't go wrong. Also you must be Lawful to combine these two classes. Normally Tristian doesn't qualify but I respecced him with a mod. Just wanted to add that.
