@@ArcaneAgent Im only at 10th level, I know theres Fey in there around the end, but I'd leave Animals and Undead off the list. Magical Beasts and Giants are probably more common. especially at higher levels, if a 10th level ranger needs help killing a wolf, then something is very wrong. Ekun, the NPC Ranger, will make random enemies explode when he crits them doing around 100HP of damage. In the PnP pathfinder, Im playing an Intimidation based Half-Orc Inquisitor, Dazzling Display, Cornugun Smash and Intimidating Prowess are his key Feats. Keep in mind, at least in the PnP version of Pathfinder, a few things need to be true of an opponent you plan on Demoralizing: 1. they have to have a certain amount of intelligence, this leaves most Vermin immune, hard to intimidate a centipede! and 2. they cant be immune to Fear. so thats paladins and some undead and other random things. Keep working on builds! I have an idea I'll post in the main thread, see if you like it and want to try it out.
oh also highest you can get is a belt of +8 to all physical stats, you find a couple of them late game, and by level 12 or so you'll have a few belts of +4/+6. They never have odd numbered stat items. So you'd be best off having an odd number at level 1, leveling that as your first stat, then maxing your primary stat (in this case dex) to land it on an even number.
Just a little side note to this because it's currently bugged for Thug's Frightening feature which only gives you an Intimidate/Demoralize skill check on single target but not triggering Dazzling Display. It's good a thing you didn't pick Thug to showcase in this build.
First time you picked human you got a +2 bonusto various checks. Every time you selected human after the first the bonus increased by an additional +2 (so a total of 4, 6, 8, etc.)
Damn i remember back in the day when i played Neverwinter Nights & i had like 30 different builds just with multiclass Monks ^^ ! Had a pretty much unbeatable char on the arena multiplayer maps with a Monk/Bard/Arcane Archer... I have to pick up this game now becuse i feel nostalgic :D !
@@ArcaneAgent Aaa cool then i might ressurect my Battle Arena map again i had called The Nagazi Island ^^ ! Had my own arena map where people could come & duel.
I just did a greatsword fear ranger build focusing on maximizing animal companion. Did 5lvls of mad dog, 4lvls of hunter inquisitor, then 1lvl of thug, and 10lvls of ranger. Its working sweet. I have plus 7 to hit by lvl8. 2 from flank, 2 from pack tactics, 2 from out flank team feat, 1 from weapon focus. And both me an animal companion get that. Plus dog has high str so the improved trip hits often and you get advantage attacking knocked down foe
The reason for the second chance to pick human was for the bonus you talk about. Instead of increasing the bonus to the Animals, you could select Humans to give your ranger the +2 increase you mention.
It should be. Easy way to check. Go through the tutorial after leveling to 20 with adding those to favored enemy humans again, see if the attack/damage is buffed in the combat log. Should be what's happening. In the old Neverwinter Nights 2 game, favored enemies ALL got the buff as you level a ranger up, so this is definitely different. Better, I say as Rangers late level in NWN2 was way OP. This way, they are good, and great against one (or more, you can spread around those buffs to be half on humans and half on animals for example) enemy type.
Nice Video! Keep working on interesting builds! One of my favorites that I ran across playing the PnP version was from a Pathfinder Society game, a guys character he called "Juice" Its a super simple build and I ended up doing with Amiri but you should try it out. Its a super simple build that actually starts paying off hugely at 3rd level. its Barbarian 1st, then 2 levels of Alchemist, do Vivisectionist, and then the rest barbarian. You've probably read the loading screen tips about "stacking" bonuses, well, Rage give you a MORALE bonus and it stacks with an alchemists Mutagen, which is an Alchemical bonus, which also stacks with an Enchantment Bonus. So if someone casts Bulls Strength on you and you have a base 18 STR, if you have Bull Str up, that +4, then drink your Mutagen +4 str (lasts 10 minutes/level) then Rage +4 Str= a cool 30 Strength at level 3. The character I saw used a Lucern Hammer, and took Shield and Enlarge Person for his Infusions. Enlarge gives you a +2 Size bonus, so now your at 32 Strength at level 3. thats +11 to Hit/Damage, using Power Attack and a Two handed Weapon, its that +19 damage, if my maths correct. Its Bonkers. My Amiri makes people 'SPLODE!!!!! try it out and have FUN!
Works the same way with alchemist / monk where you can go scaled fist monk for cha to AC, then mutagen into dex which will strip some wisdom but who cares. can pile AC onto ridiculous levels (sitting at 54ac at level 7....)
In this game rage doesn't give strength bonuses. It uses the pathfinder unchained rules for barbarian that instead give you flat bonuses to hit and damage and temporary hp
Would you consider doing a duelist/Aldori defender build video? I don't see many guides for a duelist. I know it's not the best class, but it would be cool to see how it can work.
Great video and great intro I must say. Ah yes and you should always 'hammer the crap'... out of your enemies. lol. This is definitely a build template I am looking forward to trying out. It is not so much two weapon focussed than i wished. Probably the chance to hit is not very good slashing with two weapons. Also, I saw some builds using shield bash feats for off hand attacks. I definitely like the animal companion feat of the ranger. And the dazzling display is always something I was toying around with for several characters, also for the npc companions like Valeri and Linzi. I was also thinking about going into thug instead of regular rogue because of the sickening effect feat you gain around level 4. But since the game is a long one I am not sure if I want to try out multi classing a lot and thus go for straight ranger instead. I currently have no access to a pathfinder installation right where I am now so I cannot try it out. But... maybe it is possible to go for a strength based ranger instead of that much dexterity. Then go for the two weapon fighting from the extra ranger feats you can choose from. You should be able to get them even without having the high dexterity as a prerequisite, I think? This probably also makes taking the rogue levels and things like weapon finesse not that important. The power attack and dread and such could then be taken without the menace path but probably this is not available in general to rangers then, I am not sure. I thought about a build with dazzling display / intimidate feats choosing a feyspeaker druid instead of ranger. With that you already have a high charisma and thus persuasion / intimidate check from the get-go. The animal companion is also there and there is a wider range of spells available compared to the ranger. More build videos I'd wish from you: Two weapon fighting elite sneak attacking thug / vivisectionist. A shield bashing defensive tank. Maybe in combination with one or more of the following classes: Tower shield specialist, Monk, Cleric.
This is fun and interesting. I personally wouldn't take animal companion with this build, I think. It will be weak at the upper levels. Taking all those non-ranger levels really hurts it's progression. Boon companion can only cover the first 4 levels of Ranger to make your companion equal to a Druid, so unless you can take boon companion twice, it will be 4 levels lower than a comparable Druid pet (your leopard is only lvl 14).
But as I recall a druid at level 20 without boon is has a level 16 animal companion. Its something free this build gets that offers extra damage, extra carry weight and an extra distraction for the enemy
@@ArcaneAgent you are probably right, but that's still 2 levels lower and can mean a lot in those late levels as far as combat viability. They might take a hit that would otherwise kill a party member which is great, and carry capacity improvements are nice for sure. I think that if I wanted to go this direction, the benefits of Freebooter might be better? It's hard to say without spending the time building it out that way and maybe you tried it, but Freebooter benefits the party far more than a lvl 14 Animal Companion would. All that said, we're not min maxing with this one and the build as is should be absolutely fine if you don't have a problem sending your pet to it's repeated gruesome death.
There is a mod on Nexus mods that lets you give yourself EXP. Its easy to instal and there is not Out of game changing of values in your save files or anything of sorts. Its cheat but its usefull for stuff like this
I like when people make these builds but they would only work the way you want if you progress through the game and test each and every level. The Arcane Trickster you've made is a very nice one, but at lower levels it sucks, sometimes you have to adapt ( know which scrolls are available for copying ) and some spells are better for the moment you are playing. Another important information is party building, so you make the best of each and every character. You should play some of your builds and test if they are playable, which gaps you may find along the way. Lots of builds look awesome, but sometimes they are unplayable lower levels.
@@ArcaneAgent Sure! But it feels bad somehow. Its like I'm building something that will be strong and will only shine above level 15. What level you think your dreadful ranger will shine most?

u keep stacking ur favored enemy of ur first choise, then u select other ones but with less bonus, something like, +4 humans and +2 animals when u asked in the video
Your build seems fun to play and give me a bit of inspiration. Would it be possible to play it with a THW with more str and cha less dex. And instead of rogue going for barbarian and choosing some cleave feat. For bow going composite bow would be good I guess.
@@ArcaneAgent Thanks for your reply. There's someting I found while building a similar toon. It seems that high dex and str with the power attack feat with only one 1h slashing weapon (duel Sword, long Sword, dwarven axe, falcata...but not kukri, or short Sword, estoc or rapier) increase your damage. As a test with 20 str and 18 dex at lvl 1 the damage modifier is not +5 but +9. If you add a weapon specialisation that's + 10. Perhaps the birth of a new build ?

how much of the game is left to play when you get to level 20? usually in these games you get your character to it's final form and then hardly get to use it.
Hey guys. I need your help. I am trying to find or to use my abilitie spells. But they are not in my hotkeybar and i have no idea how to bring them there. I realy want to see the elemental body IV.
You are talking about the sorcerer magus archetype, right? Being a magus, even though they get to chose a sorcerer bloodline, they miss all the bonus spells that come with it that are higher than level 6, because magus cant cast them. Also, for the spells it can cast, some will be delayed because the class cant cast some spells at the same level you ulock them. btw, i think elemental body IV can only be used by pure wizards or sorcerers, since it is a high level spell. An eldrich scion magus can at best use elemental body I or II.
I think you can get items with +6 ability points in this game, thats what I read at least. (and considering you will have some +4 at level 7 it seems credible.) putting your final point into wisdom would the better then because a 16 wis gives you the first bonus spellslot for 3rd level spells. equipping a +6 wis circlet would tack on one more bonus spellslot for spell levels 1 and 2. www.d20pfsrd.com/basics-ability-scores/ability-scores#TOC-Abilities-and-Spellcasters

Yes post away
oh also highest you can get is a belt of +8 to all physical stats, you find a couple of them late game, and by level 12 or so you'll have a few belts of +4/+6.
Yeet. Glad I accidentally didnt
First time you picked human you got a +2 bonusto various checks. Every time you selected human after the first the bonus increased by an additional +2 (so a total of 4, 6, 8, etc.)
Sweet thanks brobeans
Damn i remember back in the day when i played Neverwinter Nights & i had like 30 different builds just with multiclass Monks ^^ !
Had a pretty much unbeatable char on the arena multiplayer maps with a Monk/Bard/Arcane Archer...
I have to pick up this game now becuse i feel nostalgic :D !
Dude I'm waiting for NWN2 remastered, thats gonna take up all my life again
Im working on stacking some benefits from items. Armors that have thorns, cloaks that trip, amulets that do dps etc
@@ArcaneAgent cant wait to see it
HAHAHA! Love the intro.
Glad it resonated with someone
The reason for the second chance to pick human was for the bonus you talk about. Instead of increasing the bonus to the Animals, you could select Humans to give your ranger the +2 increase you mention.
So as the video goes, I select humans 4 times. Does that mean my favored human attack will be +4? Instead of +1 to animals? Is it stacking?
It should be. Easy way to check. Go through the tutorial after leveling to 20 with adding those to favored enemy humans again, see if the attack/damage is buffed in the combat log. Should be what's happening. In the old Neverwinter Nights 2 game, favored enemies ALL got the buff as you level a ranger up, so this is definitely different. Better, I say as Rangers late level in NWN2 was way OP. This way, they are good, and great against one (or more, you can spread around those buffs to be half on humans and half on animals for example) enemy type.
Kinda makes you wish you knew what enemies you would fight against the most, or what terrains you travel through the most
I think you just sold me on this game that character looks badass
Go buy it, its good
This is my first video and after that intro i liked, commented, and subscribed lol. Keep up the good work!
Thank ye!
Forests, Highlands, and then First World are the most prevalent, seems to the distortions of mine.
Just discover your video and lord do I love your style !!! Thx for the amazing build
Hey no problem! Go check me out on twitch too!
There are some ways that AC can be devastatingly high
In this game rage doesn't give strength bonuses. It uses the pathfinder unchained rules for barbarian that instead give you flat bonuses to hit and damage and temporary hp
Would be nice if they added some description to the terrain, but think highland is places with hills and mountains like Varnhold area.
I figured highlands would be like the Scottish highlands hehe
Just that intro got my like.

Oh, necrolord build sounds pretty badass.
Would you consider doing a duelist/Aldori defender build video? I don't see many guides for a duelist. I know it's not the best class, but it would be cool to see how it can work.
I would consider it
Great video and great intro I must say.
More build videos I'd wish from you:
Two weapon fighting elite sneak attacking thug / vivisectionist.
A shield bashing defensive tank. Maybe in combination with one or more of the following classes: Tower shield specialist, Monk, Cleric.
What about dual wielding 2 shields? Hehe.
Also yes you can focus full strength and get the 2 weapon fighting feats while having 10 or 12 dex
Well if you're into dog fighting...
it's "lead" as in the metal. lead blades are heavier, thus they do more damage. not "lead" as in "lead a horse to water".
Swag
There is a mod on Nexus mods that lets you give yourself EXP. Its easy to instal and there is not Out of game changing of values in your save files or anything of sorts. Its cheat but its usefull for stuff like this
I cant always get the mods to work, with all of the patches
How about a dreadful carnage sorcerer? I know it would cost you about 4-5 feats, but for a blaster solo it might be worth it.
I'll try anything once
I like when people make these builds but they would only work the way you want if you progress through the game and test each and every level. The Arcane Trickster you've made is a very nice one, but at lower levels it sucks, sometimes you have to adapt ( know which scrolls are available for copying ) and some spells are better for the moment you are playing. Another important information is party building, so you make the best of each and every character. You should play some of your builds and test if they are playable, which gaps you may find along the way. Lots of builds look awesome, but sometimes they are unplayable lower levels.
Unplayable is a loose term. You can be piggy backed in this game very well for a while
@@ArcaneAgent Sure! But it feels bad somehow. Its like I'm building something that will be strong and will only shine above level 15. What level you think your dreadful ranger will shine most?
Rangers and druids are powerful early on. So any time
@@ArcaneAgent I'll try some of your builds when the game is less buggy
Ive not experienced many bugs yet
Would a similar thing but with a Paladin work? Dual wield for more attacks + smite evil is what I'm getting at here.
Yes dreadful carnage and shatter defenses would definitely work with a dual wield pally
Cool. I look forward to what other stuff you come up with. Some really interesting builds you've made so far.

Hmmmm looks really cool.
How about some cool grenadier build ?
Grenadier is on my list as well!!!
Haha Lead blades,,,it’s not “lead” you into a trap it’s “lead” as in the metal. It makes your weapons heavier so they do increased damage dice
But lead is such a soft metal...
Your build seems fun to play and give me a bit of inspiration. Would it be possible to play it with a THW with more str and cha less dex. And instead of rogue going for barbarian and choosing some cleave feat. For bow going composite bow would be good I guess.
Yes that's the benefit of ranger. You could even max str and choose twf ranger, you wouldnt have to worry about dex
Perhapsssss
If you can I would like to see you build a Magus (Scion)/DD. I tried to build it and couldn't get it to work well even with me choosing what i thought was the best stats/skills/feats.
You want a magus dragon disciple?
@@ArcaneAgent Plz. When i tried to make a 10/10 split between Magus (Eldritch Scion archetype is a must to have access to DD)/Dragon disciple i couldn't build it right. I even tried several way with that nifty xp trick you showed. I tended to start with 10 Magus (Scion) levels to get medium armor and the fighter thing before i swapped to 10 DD. somewhere down the line i messed it up and then gave up.
Why do you want the 10 levels of Dragon Disciple? Is it just for the increased stat points?
@@ArcaneAgent i initially took it that far for the Magus spells and stat/AC bonuses so i can ramp up my touch based spells. if you can figure out a better way to make it, even with the lose of the DD part I wouldn't mind seeing it. Heck one time i tried to forgo the whole DD and make it just the Scion or Scion/Eldritch Knight. I really liked the spell combat working of the class. Spell combat is like two weapon fighting thought instead of an off hand weapon your free hand can cast spells, best used with touch spells.
Yeah Magus is a build I want to play around with
Duel wielding slayer str build with the dreadful ranger concept?
That sounds highly fun
awesome as usual! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

you really need to do your combat testing vs some high level enemies, that's the only complain i have.
I completely agree when I made this video I don't think I had actually gotten that far into the game.
I might do some livestream tests of these builds going through the beneath the stolen lands DLC
How about a Blight Druid build?
Currently working on a necromancer build, as well as a Debilitating Rogue. I have a list of builds that ive scheduled

So funny story; I play a ranger in the game, and that's the image I use for my custom.
Also with favored enemy; all get a +2 at the start. At lvl5, you get a second so you have two +2s, but you get to choose one to go to +4, so it's a +4 against one favored and +2 against the other.

Hey guys. I need your help. I am trying to find or to use my abilitie spells. But they are not in my hotkeybar and i have no idea how to bring them there. I realy want to see the elemental body IV.
Your ability spells? Like from your spellbook? Or from your characters gained abilities?
@@ArcaneAgent from my charakter/class, like the elemental body 4 from the eldritch scion.
Hmmmm. I have no idea im not at my pc
This sums it up
So how did you level up in tutorial area I can’t find your video
You can respecc with anoriel 8 eyes
You said use light weapons. Any light weapons?
I enjoy the videos. I’ve never played ranger, I’m usually the up in your face heavy armor hitter. So I really have no idea what I’m doing
Any light weapons with a high crit range
Rangers can also be the heavy hitter up in your face
I think you can get items with +6 ability points in this game, thats what I read at least. (and considering you will have some +4 at level 7 it seems credible.)
putting your final point into wisdom would the better then because a 16 wis gives you the first bonus spellslot for 3rd level spells.
equipping a +6 wis circlet would tack on one more bonus spellslot for spell levels 1 and 2.
