- Welcome back to skyrim! Where today we set out on a second attempt of an impossible challenge! Can you beat the survive 100 days in skyrim hardcore challenge? The rules are simple, Legendary difficulty skyrim with survival mode but the added twist that you are not allowed to equip any Armor or weapons. This is the hardest possible challenge skyrim can offer. You are effectively playing at 1 hp and almost anything will kill you and fail the run. Ontop of that in survival mode you must eat and sleep similarly to an indie survival game. You must also balance temperatures which in the cold northern lands of skyrim is rather impossible.
Today we are putting a few twists on the original concept by doing the entire run live! To add additional challenge we will also be raising money for this years jingle jam!

What you have seen here today is part of a fantastic perfectly balanced gameplay series on youtube where I go from game to game and break them with wacky exploits to gain things like unlimited gold and infinite money all in a fantastic montage. The new pokemon is skyrim levels of exploitable, just in case you're interested in taking a break from your usual genres.
Doing Sheogoraths quest gives you a free bed in a warm location, the bedroll in the Pelagius wing. Free sleeping there. Then go around and gather ingredients, turn those into potions, turn the potions into gold, gold into food and a follower for combat... Easy.

Ah yes, let's just break into a building full of Nord Warriors who are also sometimes giant werewolves and steal all their coinpurses. That is peak survival strategy.

Spiff: Implies the imperials don't test before accepting you into their ranks.
Also Spiff, but 20 seconds later: Gets sent on a test to join the imperials.
Not gonna take sides here, but the stormcloaks only send you to kill one enemy for their test. They also give potions if you are lower than level 20. Which one is truly testing you? Think the stormcloaks might make the challenge a bit easier.
Realistically the imperials send you on what would be a suicide mission for anyone who isn't essentially a demigod, by comparison the Stormcloaks actually give you a mission that is possible and poisons to help you.
From a challenge perspective imperials are better but the game paints the empire as undeniably evil.
My favorite line is the one where Sheogorath says, "Fixed is such a subjective term. I think 'treated' is far more appropriate, don't you?" hit home how psych issues work.
I love when chat tells him about the no-combat easy 500 gold Cicero quest and Spiff is like "I don't trust that, I shall fight skeletons."
The quest isn't even in the game though, it's part of Cutting Room Floor

@@TheGreyKami No it isn't? Delayed Burial is vanilla, not Cutting Room Floor. CRF adds a cutscene in front of Whiterun that directs you to the quest, but the quest itself was always there. Unless you mean something else?
I've been playing Skyrim since day 1, and this is new to me. What quest? How do you get it?
@@lokdog257 If you go to the Loreius farm area (up the path from Whiterun iirc) before Cicero shows up in the DB questline, Cicero will be stuck outside the farm with a broken wagon wheel. If you talk to him, he'll tell you that the farmer has tools but refuses to help him. If you persuade the farmer to help Cicero, Cicero will give you some gold as thanks.
You can tell spiff hasn't done the DLC when he doesn't pick up any of the OP vampire things and clothes from Harkon's court

Spiff, just complete the challenge by going 365 days in Skyrim time without dying. If you can survive one full year in skyrim, without dying, then clearly you are the master of skyrim. And what the outrageous rules that you place in these challenges, you truly would be the master and overseer of skyrim.

The outrageous rules are the problem. "Todd, why do you make the game so good, but so frustrating?" All the frustration is self-inflicted. Legendary difficulty, Survival Mode, and self-imposed equipment and abilities restrictions that are grossly unrealistic. He's setting himself up for failure. He could still make it challenging without going so far over the top that he gives himself zero chance of success, which is what he's done. If he wants his characters to be suicidal, he could just lob them off the top of the Throat of the World and be done with it.

If it hasn't been said already, "the purpose of the cheese" is that it becomes available when you chop some wood for our hostess with the mostest in the Mannered Bear. You do favours for people, and they let you take items worth 25 septims or less.
I have the headcanon that Spiff doesn't go shopping, he just has a Missingno and a glitched abacus in his pantry, and that's how he gets food.
At the beginning he mentioned “spiff breaks charity” and he should have said “charity is a perfectly balanced game with no exploits”
It's runs like these that make me wonder if I'm the only person who knows you can get free room and board in the Bannered Mare, by selling at least one piece of firewood to Hulda.
Free bed, money, and supplies (barring her sword) for one piece of firewood. That you can get right outside by chopping wood. It even has a free ax right next to it.

Hey Spiff I had an idea that may help you in you Survive 100 days series.
What if you set your starting conditions but instead of permadeath you implement a death penalty. I was thinking something like add 10 days to the run and give yourself a new restriction every time you die. That way you would be able to have a few mishaps before the run becomes impossible. You could even have the community vote on a selection of new restrictions when you die so the communi-TEA can take part in making your life hell.

The one thing about legendary mode, a hard challenge isn't removing your ability to attack, it's removing friends.
Ok am I the only one who thinks it is really weird, that a vampire gets cold in survival mode? I mean they are literally dead, how is this a thing? 😂

Damn you SPiff! You got me back into playing skyrim since your 11/11/11 video, I had been clean for years! Anyway doing a run with your exploits you've shown so far, as well as the special editions 'Survival Mode' having alot of fun with it. Although I'm stuck with the Fortified Restoration potion loop, doesn't seem to work for me.
You need to Upgrade certain Alchemy Skills before the loop works properly.

Are you modded? The unofficial patch fixes the resto pot.
Make sure u have the alchemy perks physician and benefactor and make sure to drink a hot steaming cup of YORKSHIRE GOLD
@@jayhom5385 With the patch loaded you can still do a slightly lower power loop using enchanting to buff potions to buff enchanting... And so on. It just takes longer and you need a lot of random soul gems, saving grand ones for your final form.
I never comment, but this should 100% be an ongoing series. Perhaps shorter episodes with each character being a "season".
I'm surprised the mod doesn't make it so vampires can gain hunger back from feeding and are immune to cold, though that would have partially trivialized the challenge
I believe Frostfall has that, but Survival Mode is a “official” mod, so it’s just being made by Bethesda.

Oh by the way! Another major drawback of being a vampire/werewolf in survival: you cannot become well rested, so you’ll have less time before you get drained than a regular character, thus you need to sleep more
Maybe for the 104 day challenge, play as Todd Howard's cat.
Kahjit get warmth bonus and can eat raw foods in survival without getting sick.

Allow enchantment on their equipment and your own equipment, 25% enhance enchantment one of each 4 pieces of items or one item with 100% enhance enchantment
Can't Allow:

I'll be eagerly waiting for "Can I Survive a Year in Hardcore Survival Mode?" with only rules being no major exploits and you can't buy anything (including mercenary services).
This video is the best thing for sleeping problems, been trying 3 days now to finish it and 3 times I fell asleep, like a little toddler who's been told a bedtime story. Amazing I'm gonna try for a 4th time just from the last point I remember seeing. Totally recommend it for insomniacs.
I feel like this challenge would be a lot more fun if Spif at least fished, mined, or cut trees. Sure picks and axes are weapons, but more importantly they're tools
Considering Keanu's IRL persona hinges on his charisma and ability to communicate (via acting) I'd have expected him to be incarnate as an imperial!

I'm sick in bed with covid and your soothing voice got me through the pain of muscle cramps and I was able to get a couple hours of sleep. I enjoyed the sleep as much as the algorithm lords enjoyed my sweet sweet watch time.

Can I just say thank you for putting a description that actually, y'know, DESCRIBES the video? ;) It's almost like the description is a way for people to know what content to expect... Yet most channels I see never use it for this purpose. With such a long video it's very helpful especially the comparison to other channels.

I started a game recently and did the necromancer alternate start in blackreach. Fury was my main method of killing falmer. Problem was half of them were above level 6 so fury did nothing.
That alternative start is so hard lol the dwarven sphere right next to you will ABSOLUTELY 1 shot you on anything harder than "adept" 😂 it's pure RNG whether you can escape him

I would like to see something like this but with different requirements. For example: You are allowed to fight, but you are not allowed to use magic (means no flaming swords or any spells).

I love how you can be afraid of enemys again. Begin totally OP is entertaining, but somehow takes a good part of the fun away.
On the other hand, no combat in a combat centric game is odd to me as well.. Please don't be too restrictive.
Here's my inspiration for 103+days, feel free to adapt:
Get Legacy of the Dragonborn and LAL as relic hunter FARRISON HORD or CRARA LOFT:
No stealing (despite for the museum, don't use), no pickpocketing, no killing unless you have already been spotted/attacked.
You must not buy anything, only use what you find, mine, harvest, craft or loot.
No follower.
Still too easy? Then do not use any perks in your skill tree

I love this video. he plays Skyrim where you get to be the legendary Dragonborn, a hero who can kill and consume the souls of dragons. He could choose to join the companions, the Dark brotherhood, Thieves Guild, Mage's guild, or maybe choose a side in the Civil war! What role dose he choose take on? Peasant.

The fact that you didn't want to make the imperial legion quest because it'll be too hard, but wolfskull cave would be the easier choice... 😂 I cried laughing there. Did you ever fully played skyrim, like as close to 100% as you can @The Spiffing Brit? I always thought you know this game inside out because of all die exploits you know and such, but turns out you've barely seen it. Or you are a really talented actor. 😂
