Having bought for myself a 74th birthday present, 2.5 years ago, a 2018 Kawasaki Ninja 400 KRT ABS, and LOVING it, I just HAVE TO buy the Z125, a perfect little brother. A "Mini-me" acquisition!
6'2" 240lb's. The Grom is and was my first bike. Never drove anything with a clutch. I'm almost 700 miles, put a cage and skid plate, new suspension, did the valve adjustment and oil change/screen cleaning etc myself. New Chain. The Grom is an Amazing bike. I thought about selling it because I want more speed BUT I know my crazy ass is safer on the Grom and I know I would surely regret it. It max's out at 55mph for me. I can get there pretty fast too, within 3 blocks.
Damn the comment about then being so light to carry away actually made my heart drop😭. I would be so sad if mh little commuter was taken while I was working or something.
When mentioned about used z125 being a bit over 3 grand, i spent $2,500 for 1 with less than 300 miles with an aftermarket exhaust system on it and its a 2018 so I cant complain.
I sold my Z125 two years ago and miss it every single day. My dad has a grom. I would say they are equally a hoot. I prefer the z125 if for no other reason than the oil filter and gear indicator. I don't need either, but I like them. I would say the oil filter is a bigger deal.
Okay Stock the Grom looks better but the Aftermarket parts you can put on the z125 are insane and that's why I love my z125 but with that being said I am so want a grom cuz there equally dope. One thing to keep in mind is that the Grom hasn't oil return but the z125 does so it will make it slightly better for stunting and pulling wheeles because the grom doesn't have one and burns up the engine if you dont install one
I have a matte black 2022 Z. It's a hoot. As long as you stay on roads marked 45mph/75kph or lower. I do 55mph/90kph roads for a mile or two sometimes. It gets HOT FAST at those speeds/rpm's though. Real world mpg is 100mpg/43kpl. *Verified on 4 tank fill ups. I do my own oil changes and chain adjustments. Love the little bike. I will eventually trade up for the Versys x 300
Im a kawi fan and i love how the z125 look but i choose the grom for its easy to find parts .specially here in philippines i saw bikes with same engine its called xrm125 But groms are rare here.
Rode kaw most my life so I got the z125. It’s a blast around town but my commute to work is a good stretch at 55mph and I average 91mpg. It’s pretty comfortable too.
@@benstreby2960 Heck yes. Thx! Good to hear. Especially since I'm in Wolf, Moose and Grizzly country!! 😂 I put a deposit on a 2022 black one with red wheels.
Z125 has superior suspension, but if you are rebuilding the forks on either, then might go for the Grom and its fifth gear. Why dont these RUclips reviews talk about suspension besides telling us the specs?!
Ok so after watching i think i like the grom more because of the exhaust sound i dont wanna piss my neighbors off with loud exhaust sounds taking my bike out. It also looks faster with after market upgrades?
I just found out about these bad boyz. just wondering, why the model years of these bikes are 2016 to 2017 or 2018? Didn't they make a new versions of them say like 2020-2022? Anybody?
Do yourself a favor and get a KTM Duke 200. It’s only $300 more at $3,999 and it’s got 26 hp, vs the Grom’s 9hp. Even the KTM duke 125s engine is pushing 15hp. Not that I don’t LOVE my grom because I do. No amount of mods for $300 can bring a grom up to as nice as the duke 200 in my opinion. But while the dukes are smaller bikes they aren’t quite as small as the grom.
Totally agree about the style on the GROM. The new ones look like a cross between the older style GROM and a Monkey. And what's with the round holes? Look like bullet holes....lol
This didn't help me that much. I love the Kawasaki brand but the Honda has more torque, power, aftermarket parts and that 5th gear but I love the Z125 so idk. Lol
I bought a Z-125 Pro in 2016 as a 2017 model. It looks exactly like the new bike shown in the video. I've been very happy with it.
Earned my like when he said “you can expect both to be a wheelie good time”
This is one of the better comparisons between these two bikes 👍🏻👍🏻 prefer styling of z125 but would buy the grom with my money

Man, I’d love one of these little bikes to mess around on. They look so fun.

Kawasaki gang were you at 😃💚
They’re out there!
Yessir just bought my first Kawasaki like a week ago 💚
Congrats! Was it a z125?
Just bought my first kawi!! 🥰
We beez here!
Either of them is great, and worth every penny! I love my Z to the bone!
The Grom wins with ABS and 5 speeds for 2021. I wish that Suzuki and Yamaha would make their versions of a Grom for even more interesting comparisons.
Z125 has superior suspension.
Awesome
ruclips.net/video/CzfV11sXPU4/видео.html
Abs isn't too important.
The choice comes down to better suspension or the extra gear... Styling too obviously
the extra gear is nice

Thank you for your reply.

The new 2021 Grom has a 5 speed, gear indicator, and an oil filter.
I feel the Z125 has superior suspension.
Does the grom not have an oil filter?

I’m very surprised that Suzuki and Yamaha haven’t brought out a 125
untapped market fr
A comparable compact size with a 150cc for both would be nice to see for more highway use friendly.

I'd choose the Kawasaki Z125 for two reasons. 1. It is bright green (my favorite color) 2. I can call it a Kawi. that just sounds cool and fun. :)
Good Video Kwackajack 😁 I like z125 styling better than grom. i chose kawi
First person to choose the Kawi! Thanks for watching mate 🙌🏻
Same here but imma test drive both and wich ever gets the highest top speed gets it
Great video, I'm with going for the grom because of how much after market mods are out there for them.
Yea it’s a good point, lots of people customise theirs too.
Thanks for watching and leaving a comment mate! 🙏🏻
Nice video I just bought a z125 pro and like it a lot, I still want a grom too to go with it 😂
Hard to choose between them, but I’d rather the grom due to after market support.
There is a huge community around the Groms too, and whenever I see one I kinda chuckle and think they must be having a great time
Fast forward to 2023 and price alone wins out for the Z
What is the best for people with low budget?
Im a kawi fan and i love how the z125 look but i choose the grom for its easy to find parts .specially here in philippines i saw bikes with same engine its called xrm125 But groms are rare here.

I like both
can’t wait for the 2021 Grom
I want a Z-125 to go with my Versys 300X, but I will wait and see if they bring out a 5 speed like the new Grom.
hey jack just a quick thing what is the bigest a person can be to ride a grom with relative eaz
Got the pro and couldn't be happier. I still want a Grom however
Has it been a reliable bike?
@@crypticreality8484 I did have to tighten motor mounts after a while but other then that it has never left me stranded

@@benstreby2960 Excellent!
Have you ever adjusted the suspension?
You should do the H2 vs the new CBR fire blade
Z125 has superior suspension, but if you are rebuilding the forks on either, then might go for the Grom and its fifth gear.
Why dont these RUclips reviews talk about suspension besides telling us the specs?!
Which one had the best acceleration and top speed
Love the z125 as a commuter!
Nice video, I think I prefer the Grom, pretty similar style 😉
Thanks mate! It’s very popular hey, most people here seem to choose it aswell ✌🏻
Me too
The fun factor on either one just leaves it to price and preference. The Kawi is cheaper but a decent amount
I’d spend a little bit more and get a Honda Monkey. But if I had to choose between these two, I would get the Grom.
I chose a 2023 z125 pro i love it
When I get my ninja 400 next year the first mod is gonna be the lv10 slip on the exact one you got! Any idea on the price I’m in America
Not sure mate! But it was around 350AUD so really depends on the taxes in the US. I’d say you’ll probably be paying 250-300
Ok so after watching i think i like the grom more because of the exhaust sound i dont wanna piss my neighbors off with loud exhaust sounds taking my bike out. It also looks faster with after market upgrades?
I have 2014 r6 and I want a good starter bike that’s light and fun for my dad. So in the next few weeks I’m buying my dad a z125 😊
Both bikes are fun asf but I got a Z125pro
Z125 has a real oil filter and better suspension. I hate the tank knee banging on the z125.
#gromsquad Both are fun bikes, can't really go wrong with either one! Get one and ride!
4:57 "Wheelie" good time
In America groms are a little more then the z and usually sell for more used as well
I just found out about these bad boyz. just wondering, why the model years of these bikes are 2016 to 2017 or 2018? Didn't they make a new versions of them say like 2020-2022? Anybody?
Just selling my Ducati ST2 and getting either a Grom or Z. Not using the Ducati enough and too big for 5 minute rides.
Between the two, I prefer the Benelli Tnt125
I prefer the Honda Grom !

Wait the 125 pro is 1700 usd in india? Can you just buy one and ship it over to the usa?
the Z125 looks so much cooler.
z125 all day son so much fun
Is it just me or does the Z125 sit a little higher?. They couldve made both bikes a weeee bit bigger. Then it'd be perfection in my opinion.
Kawasaki z125 pro looks good 👍
Liked
gromy
Lotta love for the grom on here, not so much for the z125?
Easy, I would buy kawasaki z125 instead of honda.
honda , in my opinion has destroyed the looks of the grom with the newest version ...............
Totally agree about the style on the GROM. The new ones look like a cross between the older style GROM and a Monkey. And what's with the round holes? Look like bullet holes....lol

Grom is way better, the z125 claims 135mpg but get no where close, the grom actually can get that or close
Take my pro on I-5 no problem just stay in the slow lane
#400club
Your specs are off on both for HP and torque
That was so bias. Good thing I love my z
How's it biased
