Can’t go wrong with either one , I just bought a used bike in winter of 2021 it’s a kawaski zpro with over 7000 miles on it ($1700) I just put a new set of duel sport tires on it , can’t wait to see if it fits me because I’m 65 years old lol
I think if you are heavier the z125 pro might be better. I'm 6' 4" 260 pounds and the rear shock has never bottomed and I ride this thing hard. 90 miles and the low fuel light is flashing. It could definitely use more power any wind or hills and 45 or 50 mph is max.
There is just as much aftermarket on z125 steady garage webike tacticalmindz mnthbx etc. The difficult mods to find is the benelli tnt135 that's even better than both released in 2018
The Grom ofcourse! With its tons of wheelie upgrades its a wheelie Maschine!!! I got some new stuff coming in on Monday thats gonna step my wheelie game up! Im gonna do an install video! :)
@@mohaglade4892 Meh kinda, but it's not bad at all. I dropped 2 in the front and went up 3 in the back and I've got quick take off speed and I can still hit 63 mph . I know some Stock groms that can barely hit 60 and I weigh close to 200 lbs. You can do so much to these little bikes but at the end of the day they're still little toy bikes, and not made for speed. So just keep that in mind both are slow lol
Funny I felt more on top of the z125 and into the Grom. But really love the styling of the Z125 but bought the Grom just felt it was a more comfortable riding position
One thing to keep in mind as far as exhaust, I used to have the RS2 Yoshimura on my old Grom and it definitely out performed the Brocks as far as top end speed
Don’t know if you’ll ever read this but I’m almost 14 and my older brother has his Z 125 saved for me and this videos are great content love them so much I also was a able to shift up in second last week
Bought a new 2017 Grom after looking at both. Didn't really get into the nuts and bolts as I should have. Now wish I had bought the Kawi. Better oil filtration, in my opinion better quality materials...plastics etc. The aftermarket stuff I want is available for the Z125 and I do notice a little more expensive than Grom stuff. Had to spend $$$ for the Kitaco cover to upgrade to oil filtration comparable to what you get from Kawasaki from the get go. Better instrumentation on the Kawasaki. Z125 for me next time. Also...you can buy them discounted new...much cheaper. Stores near me sell them new for $2600
These bikes are definitely overpriced for the little 10hp they put out. I'd rather have an r3 or even a ninja 250/300 with 3-4 x the hp for around the same price or cheaper.
Honestly, pick which one you can find for the cheaper price when you are shopping around. Both are perfect for beginners. But if you made me pick one I'd probably say the Grom
who cares when ABS is so standard on bikes anyways? i mean cmon man. the grom comes with ABS…. what bike is any new rider looking at that doesn’t have ABS?
@@thegarf5677 A dirt bike and yes, that is a MUCH safer place to start than any street bike. Riders need to know from first hand experience that you can't just slam on your brakes and expect the bike to take care of itself.
@@stevenhinkle6957 I guess there’s probably a single case of somebody getting on a dirt bike and expecting ABS. But that person was probably gonna crash hard regardless lol. But, my comment refers to street bikes anyways. It would be like you commenting under a bmx bike video about how their lack of suspension would be bad for mountain biking. it’s apples to oranges
@@thegarf5677 Oh yeah, I can agree there. Nobody should hop on a dirt bike expecting ABS. My point in the last comment is that I don't believe anyone should get their start on any bike that has ABS and I truly believe that all street bike riders would be WAY safer off by starting with a dirt bike instead. With a dirt bike, you can test the brakes or anything else on the bike for that matter any way you want to and a crash on a 200 lb bike without any cars around is probably going to turn out way better than even a 20 mph crash on a 600 lb street bike.
Not comprehending how listed seat height is accurate. These are really short but only 1" less than CBR? Can't flat-foot my 636, meaning I couldn't flat-foot these, either. Unless I was 3 feet tall, it makes no sense. 😵

If you want a faster bike 🏍 buy a bigger bike. It's a good city bike. It's not a freeway bike. Hard enough to see a full size Harley on Freeway, much less a half size mini bike in the blind spot. 😀 It needs a 150cc engine kit. Electric motor bikes easily do 70mph.
Per Honda's website (which is the math part I assume you are talking about) for the 2020 Grom: Fuel capacity: 1.45 gallons Mpg: 134 mpg For the Z125 since the fuel tank is larger I'd like to assume riding the same way the MPG would be better.

The z125 is better overall. It's like Apple vs android.. apple just for the brand, z125 for performance and better overall
