Wow, very helpful review. I happen to want to buy that type of Asics. but I'm confused about the choice, between babolat jet tere. Are these Asics very soft and comfortable? remembering it feels a bit stiff.
Hello, great video and review! I usually use in the Asics resolution 9 the size 9.5US (43Europe). I wanted to know if in this pair (challenger 14) I could lower half a size and use 9US?
@@CzechTennisGuy I understand, but in this case in the place where I live I can only get it by online purchase and not in physical stores and it is only in that size. That’s why I asked you for a recommendation
Hello. Awesome review as always. I have one question. My size is uk8, I had bought Asics Court Slide size uk 8 but they fit like a uk9. Which size should I buy for these shoes ( gel challenger 14) ? Thank you so much.
Hi, thank you. I don't recommend going down one full size, because this will leave almost zero room for your fingers and you will feel constant pressure from the shoe. Try to get these shoes in 7,5 elsewhere. I'm sure online shops like Tennis-Warehouse or Tennis-Point ship worldwide.
Thank you. From a performance point of view in my opinion the Speed FF2 is a more advanced tennis shoe with more tech in them. The Challenger 14 is a little brother of the Gel-Resolution series and you are right that it has become also quite advanced and filled with tech. But still I think the FF2 is more advanced.
Yes, these are overall good stable shoes for not only tennis, but also gym or any similar racket sport to tennis where you need to move side to side or fast forward/backwards.
Hey im an intermediate tennis player and im going back to my home country from the US for the summer (3 months) to do intensive CLAY court training, im not going to be competing but ill be training a lot, feedings, matches, etc, and I bought these for $80 USD after tax, was this a good buy or should I have spent the extra $80 to buy gel resolution 9 for $160? Thanks a lot for your time!
Hi, first of all good luck with your comeback on clay. It will be tough, but you will get into it for sure ;-). In general Challenger shoes from Asics are a great cheaper and lighter version of the Gel-Resolution. The 14th generation has some of the issues that I'm talking about in this video, at least for me, but overall it's a solid shoes and for $80 it's a good buy if you don't mind the stiffer side of the shoe.
@@CzechTennisGuy Thanks for your time! I appreciate this :D. Most of the shoes I used used to tear for the side toe a lot and I need a lot of toughness in the shoe and your video and this reply both helped reassure my decision !! hope you have a great day ahead!
Hello my friend Do you think there's a huge difference between that shoe and Asics Gel-Challenger 14 padel shoe? I need it for the dirt (clay) I'm looking to buy the Asics Gel-Challenger 14 padel to use it to clay Because they have different undersole
Hello, the padel shoes are usually very similar to clay tennis shoes. But there are sometimes differencies in the upper and toe guard sections. So the padel shoes are very often less durable in the upper. So you have to consider this before you buy it.
Hi, I actually think it might be a good shoe for fencing. Light, yet stable and secure. It's a low to the ground shoe with good feel for the ground which might be important for fencing.
What are best hard court ASICS All court is different from hard court . .. my son plays indoor hard indoor carpet n outdoor synthetic court too really struggling to find the right shoes he also has wide feet … any helpful suggestions ..appreciated
Actually all all court shoes mean hard court. If you look at the options tennis companies offer there is almost none that is specifically made for hard courts. Usually there are two main options - all-court (hard-court) and clay court. All court shoes have different sole design and also different sole rubber compound that is harder and more durable compared to softer clay court rubber. Some companies offer carpet sole (with no pattern), grass or sand grass. Then there are padel/clay shoes. If you are from the US, I recommend trying some of the New Balance shoes that are mostly made specificaly for hard-courts and they also offer great comfort and wider feet options. Some other companies also offer wider options which you can find with the Wide tag in the name of the model. Best Asics shoes for durability are the Gel-Resolution 9 and Asics Court FF3.
How’s the width and length compared to the challenger 13? I’m wondering if i should order the same size or go up half a size vs I’ve seem several comments about the 14 being too narrow.
I think all of the Challenger versions are pretty narrow, so if you want more room inside, especialy in the center of the shoe and in the front, try Solution Speed, Solution Swift or Court FF3. This was the EU 45 size. When I wore Asics Gel Solution Speed couple of years ago, I've had size EU 44,5 and it was perfect. This EU 45 feels quite good inside with enough room, but it is too long for me and a no go.
It's too long for my taste, but that's ok, because my usual size of Asics shoes is 1/2 size down, EU 44,5. I just bought this 45 size because it was available and I can still try it without worrying it would be too small. I returned the shoe, I had no intention on playing in it for second reason - it's all court version and I need clay court version.
If I were you, I would choose Asics. Two reasons: Build quality and overall durability. Nike perform well, but they don't last long. Plus I don't like th design of the Vapor, which is obviously my personal preference.
Yes, but the Gel Res 9 has an EVA foam cuts in the outsole for more cushioning. The Challenger 14 has those cuts filled with rubber, so the outsole is in one piece.
Probably not. I think when you have flat feet, you need more space inside the shoe. So for that I would recommend Solution Speed FF or Solution Swift tennis shoes. Or Court FF3 shoes, which will also provide you with ultimate comfort and stability. But I think it would be better to ask someone that has the anatomical knowledge. I recommend watching Foot Doctor Zach RUclips channel were he makes shoe reviews with lots of detail in it. www.youtube.com/@FootDoctorZach
@@badabheem Yes they are stiffer and firmer, but this is how these shoes are. They are a low to the ground shoe. For more cushioning you should try other Asics shoes that are specificaly made for badminton. Or the Asics Court FF3 has plenty of cushioning, too.
