Thanks for the great review, Ashley! It made me lean toward the Gel Resolutions. I was able to try on both in the NYC Asics shop and run around the store a little. I went with the Resolutions and have been super happy with my choice so far on-court!
My resolution 8 started to tear apart in the front top joints after just a couple months which was pretty sad as they are quite expensive here in my country. I've asked around and other club players faced same issue. I had one Asics Challenger years back, I think 2018-2019, and apart from the sole the overall state of the shoe was pretty good. So, I think the quality of the material/technology has been dropped substantially. Not sure if this issue is solved in this version but I'm thinking changing brand.
All brands have 1 bad shoe year (when they try to change something and don’t go as planned) that doesn’t mean the model or the brand are doing wrong, try again and you’ll see, sometimes the same model but with different lot last more.
Tbh for us normal people I'd prefer it if they focused on shoes that fit different shapes of foot more than having lots of pretty similar shoes for the same foot shape. For example all the expensive asics have the same plastic bit on the side that for my foot shape is painful. Fitting the shoe to your foot is a big thing in other sports.
I did find that the outside of my foot was hurting with the gel resolution 8 when I got them brand new, maybe due to the dynawall plastic but after a couple of weeks my foot stopped hurting and the shoes were comfortable
The Court FF that I've used for the past year are extremely comfortable and I love the one piece sock. I'll probably pick up the Court FF3s in the near future
Great video! I have had the Speed FF, Court FF2 and Gel Res 8 and the Speed FF was great and light and loved it. When i first wore the Court FF2, they did take a while to break in for me but i loved the sock and how stable the shoe was. Only gripe with them was the sole didnt last long as i do drag my feet and the shoe ventilation was poor, with my feet always ending up really drenched. The Gel Res 8 felt very uncomfortable for me initially, as my heel felt really high in the shoe. I didn't have any heel slippage, and it did take me a while to get comfortable with the shoe. The best thing about the Gel Res 8 was the sole, and the traction was on par with Court FF2, and not too sticky. The flyte foam comfort in the heel section was also great on hard courts. I have just purchased a pair of Speed FF2, and will be trying the Court FF3 soon once available here in Australia. I just hope the ventilation is improved.
Thanks for sharing this information, I’m sure it will be of value to some of the other viewers! Djokovic said the same about ventilation and he mentioned it was one of the things they changed, so should be an improvement for you! Thanks again for your comments!

Good and helpful. Thanks. You mentioned you have wider feet but I wasn’t sure if you tried the wider version or standard. I am wearing the wide version now of the Gel 8’s but if the newer ones are wider I might try.
So they kept that ’strap’ on the bottom part of the laces for the resolutions. I didn’t like it on the 8’s since it was really difficult to put the shoes on. In addition, it also pressed and obstructed the blood circulation during play. Eventually I had to cut it off and they became much more comfortable. I have wide feet but not that wide. My son had the 8’s too when he was 10 and he had the same problem so we applied the same solution.
Question, you mentioned that you have wide feet. So did you get the wide version of the Gel-Resolution 9? Also, were the Court FF3 in its standard width okay for you? This will help a lot with my purchase decision?
Great review ! I have always liked Asics tennis shoes, but recently I could not buy one for myself because they are too tight for my wide feet. Even the wide Gel Resolution 9 is too narrow for me. Do you have any suggestion ? Thanks.
What sort of shoe is better for someone overweight? I would imagine a lot of the speedy properties of the ff3 would be lost on me anyways and maybe I should just settle for the support of the gel res. Not fat, just not your typical skinny tennis player. Lots of lifting and stuff Edit: almost forgot to thank you for the excellent review!!! Thank you!

@@TheTennisMentor great spin and trajectory for speed pro... one question about the shoes which one do you will last longer? Durability, especially around the toe area... i drag it a bit
If you have foot problems , Gel Resolution is the way to go, I have been wearing them for years. If you don't have foot problems, there are many shoes that are more precise.
How are both when it comes to areas that tends to be forgotten - serving and returning? I want to have a stable position when serving (I use a pinpoint stance), slightest wobble in the feet puts me off completely. The resolution 8 I have used were stable but I felt as if the heel area was somewhat lower than the front area, almost creating a feeling of the body leaning backwards. This in turn created a sensation of a need to push away more with the heels when lifting towards the ball. I have a good knee bend and generate a lot of power in my serve but that low heel sort of required more energy. Same feeling was experienced when returning. I am currently using the Nike Vapor React NXT and those feel the opposite way. They’re like a spring board at the same time as they are stable. The downside is the poor durability, difficult to put on the feet and the price.
My main beef with the cout ff is the mash of the socks upper it lets through all the sand and gravel like a crazy. Because the openness of the mash the sand and gravel collect between your feet. Being a tenniscoach working normal hours like 6 hours on average. Also that so called sock is only connected to the outershell making my specific problem even worse i can literally fill buckets of sand at home cleaning out these shoes. They cost me like 170 euros. I think on that part these shoes are seriously flawed.

I love my GR8s and am on my third pair. They make your feet sweat though so I’m disappointed to see that the 9s don’t appear to address this. Where’s the ventilation, ASICS?
They have apparently improved ventilation in both the gel res and court ffs in this new version!
What about Solution FF3 vs Resolution 9. Which are better for coaching? Thanks
Personally, I prefer the gel res 3 for a day of coaching
So the COURT FF 3 color way In your review is on Asics site but it says COURT FF 3 OC & has a totally different tread pattern, what does OC stand for? Thanks
OC is ‘Omni court’ and is the third outsole (the others are hard and clay). Mainly sold in Asia for use on artificial grass.
@@TheTennisMentor Yeah the tread pattern looks pretty aggressive I figured it was for grass I'm gonna give it a try for Pickleball sometimes the courts are slick. Thanks
@@TheTennisMentor I can't find the blue steel color way in your video with the regular bottom.I bought the OC ones,in your opinion do you think they'll be OK for Pickleball? I'm a coach to so I'm on the court a lot
@@TheTennisMentor update I logged in to my asics account so I was able to buy the member access ff3 in to your review. Thanks ps the 3D slides are available as well & they are sic I already have a pair but I coped another, there that good.
@@mobsyndicate1389 the slides look incredible!!!
what is the price of each type of shoe
From £100-£140 at the moment it seems
Great video … I’ve been searching for this to better understand the characteristics. I’ve a repaired ACL so try to avoid too heavy a shoe. I’ve also narrow feet and play as much on clay as hard court … add to this that ASICS U.K. market GR9 and FF3 plus FF3 Clay … you didn’t seem to distinguish FF3 v FF3 Clay so I’m still a bit puzzled what’s best for me … thoughts?
(& thank you)
Nice review! How would you rate the breathability of Court FF 3?
Are you going to add Asics into your rotating shoes to get on court with? I know typically you're a big Adidas fan, as am I, however I am also an Asics fan now for the last few years (thanks to Novak) and I've incorporated both brands now into my playing, and often go through phases where I'll wear one brand pretty heavily every time I play for a period of some week's straight, or a month or so, and then hop to the other brand when I am feeling I want to change it up. :]
Yes I am… I have a funny thing about matching my outfit to my shoes though!! 😁
Does the FF3 run true to size?
For me, yes!
really good video!!
Which one has wider toe box
Both similar, although the FF3 feels more snug due to the ‘monosock’ design. I have very wide feet and they were both comfortable.
@@TheTennisMentor Hi great video review, couple questions,
Does FF3 has improved also the midsole material? or is the same as FF2?
Also the instep part sometimes feels like crunchy due to the plastic on FF2, has this been improved?
And, I remember I use to wear 10.5 USA size, but for the FF2 court I needed to go back half size to 10 USA, are the FF3 size fit same as FF2 ?
And the Novak version as you mentioned is narrower, but the color design are more cool than the wider ones :=( I prefer the wider version but with Novak colors.
Great video! I’ve been searching everywhere and can’t find the answer but do you know what’s the difference between court ff3 and court ff3 Novak? (Are the Novak just signature colors?)
I believe so!
Which one got more cushion for concrete?
Gel res… there’s a more comfortable version coming out very soon too
@ thank you!
What about Solution Speed?
What about it?
I came here cause I thought the shoes looked cool , but the little bit of education at the start of the video has me more interested in tennis now
Great Review!
Are the Gel Resolution 9’s worth the extra $$ more than the 8’s? What about them feels most different from the 8’s?
Great comparison and review of these shoes. Overall, do you think the resolution 9 would work a little better with a wider foot versus the court FF3?
In my personal opinion, the ff3 fit a little wider than the gel resolution
is this shoes good for volleyball??
Yes, just depends on the surface you’re playing on
soooo loved this review.. ASICS are so very good.
Do you believe women's versions will be and perform the same?
I believe that the technology is the same in Womens and Men’s, so they should perform the same!
Can I wear these shoes on the badminton court?
i have some knee problems, so is gel res9 a better choice?
Loved the video. I've got to the point where I need new tennis shoes. I went on the asics webite and they recommend the court ff2's. Is it worth buying a pair now, or waiting for the ff3's to come out? I'm just thinking about wether the ff3's will be worth the extra money and if the ff2's will drop in price.
Hope you can help and keep on producing these amazing videos
I absolutely love my gel resoultion 8s, never buying Nike again. The durability is incredible
Nike are awful
Hi Ashley, i didn't watch the video yet, but i'm really curious. You know, find good tennis shoes is essential, more than the rackets and others kind of stuffs. Now i am playing with Nike vapor but i am not completely satisfied of them. I change several shoes, I had one pair of Asics and i loved them. Now i want to buy good Asics shoes and I Hope to follow your advice. I really loved the video about tennis player xmas gifts and also your collaboration with felix. Have a good Christmas time!
The new 2024 FF court are great shoes.
So is there any actual Gel in these?
Yes, they have a small Gel pad to absorb the main impact.
Great video!
Looking forward to buy the court ff3.
What racquet do you use?
Speed MP or PRO?
I couldn’t tell
Thanks for watching… I use the Pro
Release date?
Jan 1st!
very good job 👍🤌
Thanks a lot Hr Bert!!
Very interesting !
those res 9s are so similar to the gel challenger honestly nearly the same shoe .
Most people say the gel resolution 9 isnt comfortable but to stiff and heavy.
It’s a heavier shoe but I prefer a sturdy shoe… if you prefer something light and nimble, the speed solution or court ff may be better
@@TheTennisMentor how would the ff speed and court compare to a vapor pro 2 or 11?
Bro I just came to say you look like Soyjak on the Thumbnail
Pretty funny
Pahahahaaaa
Hi,
Any idea if Head Prestige that Marat Safin using before will coming back in 2023?
My main beef with the cout ff is the mash of the socks upper it lets through all the sand and gravel like a crazy. Because the openness of the mash the sand and gravel collect between your feet. Being a tenniscoach working normal hours like 6 hours on average. Also that so called sock is only connected to the outershell making my specific problem even worse i can literally fill buckets of sand at home cleaning out these shoes. They cost me like 170 euros. I think on that part these shoes are seriously flawed.
When are they coming out?
1st Jan! 🤩
I guess it'd be better to choose between being sponsored and reviewing :-D
