Here I was thinking how nice the early morning birds sounded, then you said "It's 10:30PM." 😊 Reminded me of the time I landed at the airport in AK, in August at 10PM and it felt so strange to walk out onto the tarmac and into sunshine! It's fun when YT pops up one of your oldies that I haven't seen before.🤠
Great personal view Brooke, livin large! Love the fact that you are using the aspen, not a real fan of the tree but it's looking real good. There is so much of it. Hope your saving all the birch, seems I saw one. My wall tent is much smaller but is still real comfy. Bearing with!
+Girl in the Woods - Bush Radical's vids on the way to Alaska and fixing the wall tent were excellent. Looks like you two have it going on up there lots of work, but lots of reward, too. We really appreciate the chance to look in on your goings on from time to time. Thanks much for the invite. Have fun, stay safe. Cheers.
I got to enjoy owning my own home for two years that i built myself after being in construction for 35 years. Cedar siding-1100 square feet. and 5 acres and a shop.-lost it all due to health and a bad decision for a partner, but at least I got to have one for a while. Some people never get one. I am happy for other people that get to see their dream also. Enjoy it while you can. It is a great feeling having your own place. Looking forward to seeing yours complete. You guys seem happy and I am happy for you.
Watched Bush Radical's videos of his trip up, good that he got the wall tent back up and functional. Now that you've prettied it up it looks good inside too! You guys are living the dream, enjoy, and thanks for sharing with the rest of us.
I built a log cabin, back in the woods, on our farm, when I was a kid. Always interested in that sort of thing. The tent is great. The place is fantastic.
Aspen is a much under used material , some log builders do use it and as you stated , once protected it will last just as long as any other material ........and the upright use is awesome ,,,,,,kudo's
Love where it is at... pretty views... My Uncles out on their 80 farm had a huge wood burning stove in their living room heated the whole house. Good luck!!!
Very cool setup! My brother and i lived in a wall tent as teenagers in the early 70s. after our house burnt to the ground,a yr. after we built it in N.Ca. We had a dirt floor though! Lived for over a year in it! Winter was best tho with the potbelly stove!
I never could build much more than a split rail fence, but have always wanted to try making a cordwood cabin... I think even I could make one. While hiking in the mountains I ran across an abandoned cordwood cabin and went back many times to study it's construction.
Wow Brooke! The cabin is coming together nicely, u guys work well together! Ur place is gonna hv awesome scenic window views... it's a nice size, not too big or too small... the construction looks beautiful!!! I'm jealous... Thx for the walk around!
You guys are awesome, my brother left for Alaska 8 years ago. I keep dragging butt getting up there, he is in Wasilla and works as a guide for an outfitter and I did not go because work was going well for me now I regret it and sure hope I get to go. The only thing is all my family, he was always better at ignoring family lol. Well awesome cabin and take care guys.
It's be sooooo nice to hear a hermit thrush singing at night like that. I have to drive a couple of hours to enjoy what you guys get to experience every day. (Not complaining, though! Some never get to experience any sort of wilderness at all.) Was surprised to see fresh bananas; and what a super clever way to make a modern icebox! Best wishes for your build, L.
Wonderful to see you back in the 907. Looks like the tent got a girls touch quite promptly. Love the woodwork Mr. Bushradical is doing on the cabin. Like that stockade style. Also love the property and the lay of your land there. Miss the kitties yet? What with the quick clip of you collapsing on the beach? Think you need another cabin for Davids guitars! TFS and have a great night!
That's a beautiful place you are building for yourselves... awesome. It's nice it doesn't get dark up there in summer. Here at my place it's 9.30pm and the sun is long gone and darkness is coming fast. :(
Looks great, awesome countryside just hard to believe 10:30 at night .... Dave is really a talented man and a very blessed man ... to have ... You and his Children by his side ... just looks so neat can't wait to show Gramma B. This will give her some-kind of idea how your living in the North ... thanks for your station .. Love daddy-O ..
Beautiful setup Brooke. And the view from the soon to be windows...awesome. I seen Dave's videos when he road tripped back to Alaska and did a great job getting the tent back in shape. Enjoy and ATB Mike
That's some very kewl living quarters. I did watch your hubby's video of him fixing the wall tent. Cheering for you two on Alone! Got ya on FB now too. Thanks. Will be fun to see how thing progress.
you have a lovely place there fair play i thought that bake shop said back soaps at a glance hahaha numpty. If i built a cabin i would also build a frame around it bigger than the cabin so any widow makers would get deflected by it.Cant imagine one of them trees going through the roof and straight to ground smashing your valuables.
Looking great... Y'all need a good solar system and maybe one of those new fangled wind generator, not the fan kind... I can't wait for Thursday night...
That's a beautiful place you have over there! I've never heard of a stockade style log cabin! I'm anxious to see updates on this project, looks like you have plenty of aspen trees there to build your cabin with.
Nice tour , nice place too , hope you stay warm , & I just found your channel, your hubby mentioned it to try it out, I love camping , stay safe ok , have fun ! : ) 💖😊 ⚽️

Just great! Looks real cool your future house and where do you live? In the meantime I wouldn’t mind sharing it. Ha, Alaska, my Alaska! I well, better stay with my dreams and enjoy your great videos. Thank you for sharing🥰
Looks like a little piece of Heaven - I've been thinking about purchasing either a TeePee or a Wall Tent and would enjoy your prospective. I recently retired and have planned a North American, to include Canada & Alaska, drive about. I expect to a year, maybe more depending, so a shelter would be nice for longer camps, I have a good hammock shelter for stealth or short camps.... do you have any thoughts regarding either ??
Oh my, I am so envious of you guys right now. That property looks amazing and the cabin is looking great so far. I can't wait to see the finished product. The stockade style is a pretty cool idea. It'll be good and strong for snow load. Did I hear you say you were offering a free two week stay in the cabin to somebody just for liking this video???...lol!
You re so Lucky !! - here in UK we have a cats chance in hell to even get hold of decent land like that at all let alone at a sensible price - and then would have no chance at all to get permissio to build on it. Great interesting vid thanks Im gunna check out the Bushradical channel now as well !! Cheers and ATB !!
What a beautiful place! I am new to your channel and I am just enjoying your videos so very much. Is it too personal to ask how many children you have? I think it's really cool that they have their own cabin. And the dog seems right at home. You are an awesome person!
Brooke, Great video of ur cabin under Construction. With your outdoor kitchen and the food. Where are the neighborhood Bears? Or is that a problem there? Keep up the great inspiring videos. Wished I had stayed in Alaska, back in the early 1970's when I had the chance.

yes a little slice :)
I built a log cabin, back in the woods, on our farm, when I was a kid. Always interested in that sort of thing. The tent is great. The place is fantastic.

I would def go with a wall tent- you really can't beat them. You can have windows, door, wood stove, etc. Love em! Good luck on your trip!
Oh my, I am so envious of you guys right now. That property looks amazing and the cabin is looking great so far. I can't wait to see the finished product. The stockade style is a pretty cool idea. Thanks Mark appreciate the sub!
Hey Brooke...thanks for the 'Royal Tour' of your homestead. I like the idea of using Aspen logs in a vertical construction. Aspen is easy to work with and most folks don't know how hard it gets when it dries out. I hope to be starting my project and moving up the mountain in 6 or 8 weeks, trying to get some clearing done now to make space for all my stuff. Where do you get your potable water from?
HI SPIRIT FOREST...good to see you here as well :)
we have a great natural well a few miles away- best water in the borough! i use it for my lemonade too. good luck with your project!
All I can say is.......That is Living!! Coming together Nicely! I wanna see that chainsaw buck some Aspen!! :) TFS your guys progress B!
