Awesome, I wish I had the discipline 20-30 years ago to do what I’m doing now at 63, restoring a 12x12 log cabin on 5 acres in northern Wisconsin.
So did i, log home wood stove, barn, and I'm 68 also.
Priceless. I’m embarking on a 5 acre remote project involving rehabbing a 12x12 log cabin. It would have been so easy 20 years ago, but now at 63 with some health issues it is way more a challenge. Pray for me, lol.

Rooting & praying for you !!! My husband and I just bought 11 acres totally off grid with a 366 ft log cabin. Hasn't been taken care of in years we have so much to do......day by day, doing what we can afford and have time for. We hope to retire here in woods ❤

I'm 50 and building my cabin now. I couldn't imagine waiting another 15 years to be retired. No way I could do the same amount of physical work as now.

Local building codes and permit fees can crush a dream. That was my first lesson in home ownership. It's a tough lesson. I ended up selling at a slight loss and moving on.
We love Jay and Jen. Been watching them since they started. I love you guys interviewing everyone building their off ride properties.

I built an off grid cabin.
Its no where near as awesome as your accomplishments. I did it with no power tools, no vehicle, no money (zero dollars) and by myself. I had a lot of people ridicule, doubt, steal and try to hinder my hard work but I stayed persistent and worked very hard.
I look up to you and others to combine your wisdoms with my own.
Thank you for giving me wisdoms that you don't even know you gave.
Natural springs and power inverters are a blessing.

They did a great job. I am impressed that they had no experience and created a cozy home, shed, and outhouse. It looks like they are remote and living their best life. Funny, I like the bathroom and outhouse the best.

My dream! Lots of regrets, my first marriage was to a house builder who REFUSED to build me a house... by the time I divorced him with no money it was all out of reach. Today we would love to try this, but I'm 64..... I still do furniture refurb, but no building anything large... praying we can do this some day!
My husband would buy boat trailers and build pirate ships for parade floats and events. But never built anything for us. God forbid he try to build us a house.
This is crazy I just recently found their channel and subscribed to them. The only thing that’s missing is a cat 🐱

Great video! My husband and I are on our 3rd winter in Southwest GA. We started with 3 acres raw land, we have 6 acres now and a cabin (190 square feet) and have been slowly building our 400 square foot "tiny house". We are so close to running power to the tiny house. Outdoor shower..... Yes we shower outdoors and even my kitchen is outdoor but we own it ALL. Our truck is our workhorse too, we take good care of it! Our goal is to have an indoor kitchen before next winter. Our woodstove is our best friend and we are about to build our "outhouse" from Brookes outhouse video, we are modifying it just a tad, we do have a septic system so we are plumbing a toilet, just going to bucket fill the tank for now. ❤ You two are inspiring!!!!! The place is beautiful.
My fridge was $300 too, and we love our Berkey.

Very nice i love it. In place of the 12V system i would use it in 24 Volt. More efficient and the batteries are working too.

Everyone should be allowed to do this... it is a crime that in many semi rural counties they have so many rules and codes it almost forces everyone to build or buys something so big it is hard to afford. So glad you uploaded this Brooke, you're the best!
