Your doing it TOTALLY right Brooke! Getting out alone and enjoying God's amazing creation and listening to His still small voice. Sometimes its hard to hear with all the chaos. Blessings from Alaska! :)
Sure appreciate your willingness to openly pray. Awesome. We had the deluge rain but temps above freezing, thankfully. Stay safe from falling trees/limbs 🙏❤🐶❤🔥
Brooke you building a fire each day for 28 days , awesome 👌 👏 👍 You are on fire with your love for life ❤ not only making a living but a wonderful life. So glad for you ❤ Thank God for you!
Corned beef hash, eggs and coffee. UMMMMMM! One of my favorite breakfast (or anytime) meals! Everything is always better cooked in the outdoors over a wood based fire!
Great fire on a nasty day. I remember the times livening in Nebraska and it would do this. Takes a special person to live in this climate. Thanks for sharing
Moved to the country, and started watching your vids. Since then you have inspired me to spend more time outdoors. I’ve used a chainsaw, split wood, campfires galore, I bought a cast iron pan and fire grate, and I really enjoy the quiet. My husband and I have been married 30yrs. We have date night every Thurs. This week, we plan to cook over a fire in a cast iron pan for the first time ever. And we are having hash and eggs over Texas toast. Ha! Thanks for your inspiring vids😊💜
I am binging on your videos ! I'm new here and you are an amazing woman.i feel like I'm right there with you . And learning so much about nature..wildlife and watching you build .it's fun watching you and learning as well .don't know how I found you ..but I'm a Christian and there's so much bad on RUclips..it's refreshing to find someone who loves and lives for the great outdoors..I can relate to it!!
I wonder if you've ever tried one of my favorite camping breakfasts, an old Navy dish called One Eye Jack. Take a piece of bread and press a drinking glass or empty tin can into the center of the bread. Remove that center circle (this will be your toast.) Toss some butter in the pan and put the bread with hole, and the removed circle in the pan. Crack an egg into the hole in the bread. When the first side is browned flip it over. That's a One Eye Jack.
Ya, there's lots of names for it. Egg in a hole. Egg in a hat. Egg in a basket. Bird in a basket. Toad in a hole. Frog in a pond. And 60 or so other names.
Duck Landes - oh man that brings back fond memories. When I was a kid my aunt and uncle would come up to visit and stay in a caravan. Us kids would rush out in the morning to have breakfast in there with them (tiny caravan), and my aunt made that for us! We loved it. Gotta be at least 30 odd years ago, and sadly they have both since passed. I’ll have to try it again. Thanks so much for bringing a lovely memory back to me.
Hash is good and so is jalapeno spam. Thanks for more good times by the fire. Your snowy ice makes my days of snowy below zero seem like a walk in the park.🤠
Your optimism and energy is contagious and inspirational. The simple recipes you share are wonderful! I especially liked the fried donuts haha! Thank you!
Hi Brooke, I started watching Day 1 last night. I am awake now and finished watching Day 7. I will continue on. I really love what you are doing. Love from Borneo.
We've had a lot of rain, freezing rain and ice this winter in Maine. People here get out their sidewalk crampons to get around town ;) Excellent video, thanks!
I love when You shared your experience in AK. I am remained of an old tune "listen to the rhythm of the falling rain." Thank you for reminding me of an old memory.
Oh yeah eggs and hash, and coffee to,and Maysie in between, and to complete everything for day 7 fire,a little freezing rain, lol great video Brooke 👍😆...
Hello Brooke, happy day seven. You were wise to bring the canvas tarp to give some protection from the elements. What a breakfast: corned beef hash w/egg, Texas toast and coffee. The only thing missing is a side order of Sweedish oatmeal pancakes with walnuts and real maple syrup. Awesome breakfast. Take care out there and have fun. See you on the next one. 🤗
Love the Smell of Garlic Bread Yummmmy Especially with Hash N Eggs And Some Hott Coffee with the Beautiful Sounds of the Icy Rain hitting the Ground ..Nothing Better to be Alive ..Camp Fires r the Best especially in the Winter time ..The Smells of the Fire n The Smells of the Food n The Coffee ...Great For the Heart n Soul ...Very Relaxing ..Sounds of Nature ..I'm going to Sleep right now just listening to the Rain LoL 😂 😂....Love your Videos Brooke..I have watched these videos over n over again ...Can't wait till we start getting some cooler temps here in Ohio ..This Weekend will be perfect Temps going down to the 40's ...Good Camping Weather..Nothing like Alaska Thou LoL 😂 😂
Like how you're using Light My Fire bowl on your Fire Challenge! I'm a fan of there products.... My two favorite things, Outdoor Gear and Your Videos!!!😉
Hot yummy campfire coffee on a dreary day; campfire Texas garlic toast , and well written nature poetry? The Bomb.. The egg look yum too..Eeh, the corned beef looked too much like doggie food for me..Heheh hahaha..No, it's all good. Roughing it in Mongolia, and Canada? You're a true survivalist , you proved it.
It looks like you all are having plenty of sleet there and that on top of the snow isn't good. Your chickens are fortunate that they are inside where it is dry and a little warmer. Your dog love being with you and must love the food you give her.
I had a feeling no video meant no power or bad weather. Hope it's not to bad there. While you were thanking the lord for your meal and blessings, I was thanking him for you. Your life and how you (and Dave) live it is a testimony. Thanks Brooke.
I started building myself one of those bushcraft shelters with my nephew. The only problem with finding enough brush to cover it so we had to use a tarp.
You Northern Girls are Tuff, Glad that I Live in the South where Bad Weather is Hardly ever a Problem--Nothing like a Cast Iron Skillet--Yum ,Yum, Love that Corn Beef Hash.
Brooke, Maybe it is just me but you seem happier to me lately. I am back to enjoying you more than ever! I have been a Tom Boy, out door girl all my life. You strike Me as the same which is part of why I like your channel the more important is from the begining I noticed you were a Christian but did not have the need to hit anyone over the head with it but just live your Faith & not ashamed to pray in public. God will Bless you for that & more. 😊
Hi brooke one thing about FREEZING rain you don't have to worry about anyone bothering you you eating like a queen, you know when its cold you get hungry fast i have a army song i sing whengoing gets tough, by my side, so satisfied, through and through, i was born to be with you. Its a good marching song 🐸✌🐿🍁
Yikes! I had a hunch that you might be having this icing, as I waited all last evening for your latest. Then, was awake here at about 3 this morning, winds roaring - and again..."Where's Brooke & the days fire?" Really enjoying these, but glad you were able to stay home... Thanks!
That looked delish! I'd change it to the roast beef hash for me. Never thought of using garlic toast for eggs even tho I put garlic salt on my egg toast, lol. Gonna have to try that combo. Yum!
Nasty day there today. Yes coffee is great in the cold weather. I'll have to try your hash on a shingle. I like my cubed fried taters, cubed spam, chopped onions, and when it's done, I put a few eggs over the top and scramble them in the mix. I take it off the heat, cover it with cheese, and put a lid on it so the cheese melts. Talk about good.. be careful with all that ice, wouldn't want to see you get hurt. See you on the next one.
That fireside food looked awesome! I bet it tasted good, and with your terrific coffee. Something else which I would have with it is loads and loads of baked beans. Hmmm hhhmmmm! :-) Thanks for posting Brooke and best wishes.
That's a stick to your ribs meal. I use two old cake pans to keep my food warm while I'm still cooking. Lock them together with binder clips. Put near fire but not in coals. Then again I often eat one item at a time so it doesn't get cold.
Man here I thought you had not published the same day because you felt so bad over experiencing errors in yesterdays episode. I agree snow can be bad but ice accumulation is devastating stay safe.
I love your channel, i have been sick all week and looking for something to watch found this series i have so enjoyed it and when i fell better i'm out on my property and cooking some of these great breakfast, my favorite meals are breakfast foods yummm, i like scrambling my eggss into the hash, i'll be watching all of them
Have been really enjoying your fire series so far Brooke. Thank you for sharing Mary Oliver's incredible poetry. I had never heard of her until now and am definitely going to seek out her work. By the way, the next time you have an ice storm, please don't send it my way. I truly appreciate your sharing nature but when it comes to that stuff, no thanks. 😕 😃 Fortunately we did not lose power.
Have you ever eaten oatmeal for breakfast with blueberries or strawberries or with brown sugar? It's really good and very healthy and low in fat and cholesterol. Cereal with bananas is a good choice too with some grapefruit or oranges. Helps to clean out your arteries.
