On a topic like this, all you're here for is to be a smartass?
Definitely keep the birds separated especially when you first get them. You have to quarantine them. Make sure that they are not near each other. Better if they’re not in the same room with each other. With that being said, I am surprised you do not have a regular veterinarian considering all of the other birds you have. I am shocked you went to someone that you didn’t even know. I’m sure you looked at the reviews on the place before you brought her there. I am very sorry for your loss. I love my two girls very much as do you with yours. I have to admit you are impressive with the training that you have done with them so far. I have been periodically watching your videos. I do enjoy watching them. I hope that every one of your other babies are healthy and happy. I know they look happy.

So sorry for your loss. Yeast infections are hard to get rid of. I haven't heard of that medication or used it on my birds. I know that some medications that are used for dogs and cats can be used on birds but not sure of this one.
I hope your other birds will be okay.

So sorry Carolin for your loss, R.I.P Precious, you have had some bad luck with your rainbow lorikeets, when a bird looks ill, it is generally too late to save them, as people will no who have experienced this awful loss, they go down hill so quickly, I had this happen to me a few years ago when I lost my beloved Jacob a male hyacinthine macaw, he was unwell for a few days, took him to a avian vet, he gave him a antibiotic injection in the chest, next morning he passed away, he brought up blood from his mouth, I am sure to this day that the vet pierced something he shouldn’t of, so like you Carolin a bit wary of vets today, I will say this though Carolin, I think you keep to many pet birds in the house, there’s not enough space between them all, it’s not healthy for them and you, to have all there mess and dust in the atmosphere, I solved the problem by keeping one pet queen of bavaria conure in the house and purpose built aviaries with heating and double glazing and extractor fans, for my pairs of black cockatoo’s, so I think no more birds inside, otherwise you are going to have more problems, I speak from experience, as did keep all the large species of macaws inside and did have problems, have been watching you and the birds for a year or so, Karl from the Uk.

And by the way, Umbrellin is an antibiotic compound containing amoxicillin. Doxycycline is also an antibiotic. Neither are anti-fungal treatments and yeast presence is a fungal infection, not a bacterial infection. There can however be an interpay between excessive yeast and bacteria presence. You may want to research this for the future. I'm just trying to be helpful here. Best wishes to you and yours.

@@CarolinvonPetzholdt No. Umbrellin is the trade name of an antibiotic (meaning an antibacterial medication) containing amoxicillin. Whereas yeast is a fungus, not a bacteria, so it requires an anti-fungal medication. At times, though, there can be some strange dynamics between fungal infetcions and bacterial presence. Based on your descriptions, I'm unsure exactly what the vet was trying to achieve with the Umbrellin for Precious. There may have been a good reason for it but I don't know. And by the way, I am not a vet.
Was this an avian vet? Did they weigh your bird first before calculating the dosage? 0.2ml is an enormous dose, should it not have been o.02? Most meds I ever get prescribed to syringe is 0.01 or 0.02. Can you report them to any veterinary body for investigation? Sorry for your loss. I once had an antibiotic prescribed (it was not for cats or dogs, but for chickens, can't remember the name), anyway, the birds reacted violently (being sick) after one dose and I refused to use it again. An alternative was used, and they were fine. Some vets though, experiment, unfortunately, it is on your own pets.

Yes it's their fault because they gave her dog and cat medicine for a bird even I know that that's a bad idea it clearly says for cats and dogs ONLY and they still had her give it to a bird.
It's so sad when a pet bird dies unexpectedly. 😢 Rip to your bird friend. Remember the happy times you had with her. Maybe her spirit is not far away she is still with you and appreciates all you tried to do to help.❤ 😇

Poor Precious, I wonder or she would have died without the umbrellin. Maybe it was too heavy for her, but the vet know what he is doing, it seem that the vet didn't have anything else, or couldn't do anything else for Precious. She was too far gone. Maybe the infection started with her former owner, because you gave her the same food that you give Angel, and Angel is perfectly healthy. I am sorry for your loss. Precious was beautiful.❤😢

I feel u i lost my parakeet to and miss them a lot one of them died the other flew away i have two birds currently one is a pigeon the other is a red crowned amazon and the do not get along so we have spret cages so they won't fight and sorry for your lost sorry i am late saying i just saw the post.

Sadly on the last video i knew precious wouldnt make it :( She looked to ill for any meds to suddenly start working .Birds go downhill very quickly .So sorry for your loss 😢 Also most birds do eat up until the last minute to hide illness :( My derbyan passed 5 weeks ago and she ate a few hours before passing 😢

Agree,on the vets.I had the best for 20 yrs.She retired n I've tried many n not happy. The coolest n sweetest kitty I've ever had passed in March after 3,300 n they were awful. My sweet Luna🐕died after 5,500 that was at a 24hr.vet.Her little ❤ gave out😢😢😢😢
Oh my gosh, i'm so sorry for you to hear that Precious is gone over the rainbow, i know how difficult it is to find a vet for special animals cause of losing one of my babies , the vet made a mistake too😢😢😢😢😢💔💔💔

how do you know if the bird did not have did not have the problem when you bought her they can hide there problems till it is to late to fix it sometimes it is to late. my grey almost lost his toenails but he did not took him to the bird store and the man that we take him to where we buy the feed from told us to leave him in the small cage and put a heat lamp cover up over night to keep him warm guess what he guess what he did not lose any nails at all and he is doing great what happen mr toes went over to his cage another grey bit him in the foot and he was bleeding a lot blood every where we had that quick stop that crap works so we saved money from the bird store owner and yes we get the bird wings and nails clip because we can not let them fly around there to many hawks here and i love my birds to much i know you don't like that and sorry about your bird i know how you feel about a pet been there to many times on a pet death they are like kids may god bless you
I am so sorry for your loss. I understand the pain 100% and my heart hurts with you. They are so much more than pets, they are family and that makes them loved ones too. There are no words that can be spoken or actions that can be taken to stop the pain, only time. We NEVER get “over it” as some people have said. We will never forget or get over their loss, we only learn to live with the pain and emptiness as time goes on. In time, you will smile when thinking of the fond memories and funny antics. I hope you can find comfort in knowing that death is NOT the end, it's the beginning for both human and animals!! I know this because the bible tells us: ALL innocent creatures go to be with our creator God the Father upon death and that includes the animals! Only humans have sinned, all animals are innocent. Human's have a choice but not animals, they live and function on instinct. Just as people receive new bodies the animals do as well. Their bodies will be those that were before the fall of creation. When Adam and Eve ate of the fruit, everything fell from perfection. Birds even began singing in a different key! The breath of life that God breathed into Adam and Eve is the same breath of life that God breathed into the animals, except God breathed into the animals first! Genesis 2:19-25 - God created animals first and Adam named eve ry living creature or beasts of the field! The animals were important to God. When God breathed a spirit into Adam’s body, Adam became nephesh: “living being” or “soul”. The same Hebrew word “nephesh” is used for both animals and people! Genesis 1:30; 7:15, 22 Genesis 2:7 that animals and man have the same breath of life! The bible also talks of a child placing his/her hand into the hole of an Asp (deadly snake). The animals also spoke before the fall of creation! Remember the serpent spoke in the Garden of Eden Numbers 22:28 - The donkey spoke, through God, the donkey’s tongue was loosened. The donkey could also see the angel, this shows intelligence. Are the animals closer to God than man? Yes, for they are totally innocent and know no sin! They also were a substitute until the birth of Jesus. In the book of Enoch, which is one of the lost books of the bible, Enoch speaks of the animals testifying against man at the great white throne judgment! Those who are born-again and have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior will spend eternity with our loved ones who went first and that includes the animals!
Romans 8:21: That the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. Luke 12:7 - God provides for animals just as for man. He knows when a sparrow falls, none are forgotten before God. Joel 1:20 - The animals cry unto God just as mankind does. Jesus loves the animals! Imagine our love on earth. Jesus has perfect love (agape love), after all he suffered and died an agonizing death on the cross for us. His love for the animals and his creation is perfect and as humans we cannot begin to understand. Proverbs 12:10 - The righteous care for the needs of their animals, but even the kindness of godless men is cruel”.
Animals aren’t created in God’s image nor are they equal to humans, however we are their caretakers. Nevertheless, there is biblical evidence animals have non-human souls. Nephesh and psyche are translated “soul” for mankind, but these are also used with animals. God made certain the animals were saved from the flood, and we know from scripture they most certainly are going to be on the refreshed, new earth. When Moses and the Hebrews left Egypt, their animals went too. We need to see that animals and man share something special - we are both living beings. Something one must remember is that Adam and the animals lived happily in the Garden before the fall and will again. Don't forget, when God cursed the 2 people, the animals and whole earth fell under that same curse! That is why some animals now have a “less than loving” nature. Once we’re enjoying the new earth, they will be as they were in the Garden of Eden!
Proverbs 12:12 (NLT) - We are to be stewards of animals. We are caretakers, but they belong to God, not us. For all the animals of the forest are mine, and I own the cattle on a thousand hills. Every bird of the mountains and all animals of the field belong to me Psalm 50:10-11, Psalm 148:10-13, Revelation 4:8-9; 5:13 Animals also praise God. We fail to zero in on scripture that says the “living creatures” that cry out “holy, holy, holy” are animals dwelling in God’s presence. Our Lord Jesus Christ in Revelation 21:5 proclaims “I am making all things new”. Revelation 5:13 - Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying: “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praised and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!”
Romans 8 - Creation itself will be free from its bondage, the whole creation has been groaning. Man sinned, animals did not but they were still brought down by human sin. That is a terrible truth of sin; it effects both the innocent and guilty. Romans 8:21 - Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
I am so thankful my mother and I were able to do this study, she died shortly after. Being human, we are selfish and want to keep our loved ones with us forever. As long as I/we are on earth, I will always miss her and wish she had not left us. I can't wish her back here out of heaven, that would be the ultimate act of selfishness!! I would not want her to suffer further because now, she is free of all her pain and is in paradise with Jesus (Luke 23:43). My mother was born-again and so am I, so I will see her again. Most of all we will spend eternity in heaven with Jesus. I look forward to that day.

Please take it easy l know the feeling all to well. Precious is up at rainbow bridge with all the other birds who passed away. I just know Precious is up there free flying with Hopper my hyacinth macaw. They are our guardian angels now. Carolin l love all of you guys l prayed God will make this easier on you. Hallo, my apologies for your hyacinth macaw. Being a social media person isn’t easy. People know me. I don’t know them. And I’m bombard with daily message and comments. I hope you were able to grief healthy after the passing of your hyacinth macaw. Loosing a soul isn’t easy. Most of the time our pets/ birds means more to us than people. Dear X, l am so very sorry about your hyacinth. I will remember you and your hy what is his name. It is the biggest heartbreak of my life losing my Daley aka Hopper. I had him for 23 years he lived 23 years. I had him creamated l took my pets with Hopper's ashes to the pet cemetary and had a funeral for him. I take his ashes all the places we use to go and spread some in the wind. I could not of lived a child l gave birth to more than that bird. Sharing with yours Carolina and anyone who has lost a pet. In Feb. It will be 2 years since l lost him. I still cry and pray for my Dad and Hopper and 🙏 for everybody including any animal and this world. I'm sorry for responding late here but the email notification for your reply went to my junk folder and I just found it. My hy's name was Zaffer. If you google the words zaffer and bird together (or zaffer and macaw) you will find his story. He was my special companion and I miss him with all my heart. I am so very sorry about Hopper. Believe me, I well understand the relentless pain! We must struggle without them now and it's immensely devastating. Zaf was the sweetest bird I've ever met and he was the center of my world. I truly appreciate you reaching out here with your feelings.

How come the bird wasn't taken to a bird vet? some one who specializes in birds, I have a freind who takes her paorrot to an bird doctor and would never take him to her regular vet, and sorry for the loss of your pet. I don't think you can blaim the vet

Oh Caroline, this is sad news. That little bird was trying so hard to keep going, she was even eating at the vet's office. I thought she had a good chance to survive. I loved her from day # one, she was so sweet. 🦜
With birds, it's so hard to know what to do... take the strongest course or the gentlest. I think I would have started Amoxycillin (in the proper dose) sooner, but birds are so delicate, I'm not saying my way would have worked either.
Well, again, she had a wonderful life with you two and the flock. She even had a Lori to hang out with. We aren't promised a long life here, but wait for the world to be made new again by the One who promises by His own Name that it will happen. I have dreams about flying with my birds, including ducks and geese I've loved. If you want to see your bird family in your dreams, ask God for it, it's sweeter than you can imagine. 💖 Love you guys, Robin
