Chill Astrophotography with Cuiv - but trying out new mounts at the same time!

- BIG CORRECTION! I just realized I had the guidescope focal length in the ASIAir set to 120mm (my old guidescope), BUT the OAG was actually at 250mm - so the 0.9-1" of guiding are actually 0.45-0.5" of guiding on the UMi 17 Lite, which is excellent!
Mounts used today:
- UMi 17 Lite: www.proxisky.com/?_l=en (good 0.5" guiding results with the RedCat for now!)
- EMCAN EM31Pro: emcanastro.com/ (good 0.7" guiding results with max payload!)

Cuiv, you need to do more of these live streams! This was awesome! Also please know that your channel has had a huge impact on my astrophotography. Thank you so very much!
Thanks so much Michael! I definitely plan on doing more of these!
Thank you, Cuiv... I didn't see that you were hosting a livestream so have just watched the full 3+ hours... WELL DONE! I have been watching your tutorials and videos for some time, now (after you returned to the screen) and you are my first and major online go-to for Astro Info (still read the CN topics, AB topics and watch Nico, Trevor and Dillon as well). OK... that's me in Bortle 7+ skies in Halifax, Nova Scotia (Can).
Been using an ZWO AM5 (for my Askar 107 PHQ +ASI2600MCP, 50mm Guide scope + ASI290MM, related NB filters, ASI Air + and other associated gear) for almost a year now and have been V-E-R-Y happy with results. Also use DWARF LABS II and S50 SeeStar... and look forward to advancements in these devices, too. OK... that's me in mostly Bortle 7+ skies in Halifax, Nova Scotia (Can).
Your input on the many topics you have addressed is equally V-E-R-Y appreciatrd - please keep enjoying astro-imaging and sharing your observations and processes with us... and be gentle with yourself!
Really enjoyed live stream, even heard the wind blowing at 51:20 to 51:21 😂😂...Atb Tom in Uk..
Awesome mate, thank you!
Good sound
Sounds good
Missed the live version but I’m all in tonight. Clear night here in Canada, finally.
Enjoy the clear night, I'm jealous!
Sounds good to me
Good to see you from Az
Good to see a live stream.
AVX mount is on sale for only 150 dollars more than the GTI. It’s on sale.
Hi from As. I can hear you fine.
Yes, we can hear you loud and clear 🙂
Holy moly - I missed it.
Next time!
Cuiv - On the Emcan, why not loosen the three tripod locking screws to rough the azimuth rather than turn complete tripod?
Whoopsie, you are absolutely right 😂 Sometimes I completely miss the obvious!
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Are you broadcasting live in Japan?
I was yes!
Hi from Michigan USA. Just figured out why I can't chat on live chat...this was streamed 13 days ago...hahahaha. How do you like the Umi 17 lite and what do you think about the Umi 17R?
I heard you
Hi Cuiv, thanks again for a nice session and my apologise for not spelling your name correctly the first time.☺ My question was about the guiding calibration requirements. I don't own OAG or ZWO duo camera, but I was just thinking if I need to recalibrate guiding if I rotate the duo camera. In case of OAG I mean if I use the main rotator on the refractor scope, so the OAG rotates too. I was just surprised not to hear it in any review of the duo cameras, so I thought I might be missing something. I rotate the camera for almost every new image to get more pleasing composition. I have the 533 chip so not much space for crop. Thanks M.
Hi, if you use a OAG or guide scope, if you rotate any part of the guiding system you will need to re callibrate in the guiding software
@@duanyusef3653 Thanks for your comment. I just wanted to be sure I did not missed any hidden feauture of PHD. As I said, for ZWO duo cameras, nobody mentioned this as a drawback, especially with automatic rotator, which made me start to think about it. 🙂
@@bymartinek no problem, to explain more when you callibrate PHD its measuring the movment of stars in your camera sensor compared to the movment signals it sends to your mount, so any rotation change in that system will need a re callibration
Yep in the end your question was answered! You do need to recalibrate if you rotate the camera with the ZWO Duo!

a daytime stream :(
