❤So good to be uplifted by this hymn. Yes regularly sung but sadly not now. Thank you Lord. Thaankyou for your explanation of the “ darkness” that hides God .
I've loved this song since I was two years old. My parents bought a Keith Green album at that time and one of the songs was him singing the old hymn Holy Holy Holy. I loved his version of it and I highly recommend it. Keith Green's music was a huge part of my foundation so because of him I have loved this song and sang it countless times all throughout my life. Thank you for showing us the behind the scenes story of how this great old hymn came to be. God bless
I was eight years old when i first heard this song and after a revival message preached by Rev. John Calvin Williams i accepted Jesus as my savior and Holy Holy Holy stuck in my head stuck all that year 1965.
I’m 72. This song was one song I remember from my childhood from Bible Vacation. It has remained in my mind, and I’m afraid my dining memory has forgotten every word of it. Thank you for this video. At my late years I am just recently‘born again’. I have subscribed to your channel. Bless your work and your channel.
This is one of my favorite hymns. For the longest, it was Hymn# 1 in the Baptist Hymnal. There is also a beautiful rendition by Clydesdale called Holy is He. It blends this beautiful song with a modern operatic/classical rendition.
This is such a powerful hymn - His praises and glory are always worthy of our attention! Your channel is such a blessing - thank you for your faithful obedience!
Food for the soul. A beautiful hymn and one that I used to love singing at Kempton Methodist Church and Colin Howell used to lift the roof with praise 🙌 🙏 Thank you dear Luke for reviving these beautiful old traditional hymns. May the Lord continue to bless you in your various ministries 🙏 🙏
Beautiful and thank you, the last time I remember singing that hymne was at high school with a hymne book. Having no idea what 'God in three persons' meant. The Holy Ghost was to be feared in those days. This brought back so many memories and made me realize that perhaps the teachings of Jesus was not quite the same in those years, Father, Son, Holy Spirit. At least now all the dots have been joined in the Bible 📖 study. All praises 👏 to Jesus.
I've heard this beautiful hymn many times in church when I was in Catholic grade school. I loved the beautiful images that came to mind. Many years later, I learned that the lyrics were inspired by Revelation. The way you played and sang this hymn was nicely done with a modern "pop" touch. Even younger folk would enjoy hearing it on the radio or CD.
This attribute of God's father is imputed to us through Yeshua's righteousness . That is why he commands us to be holy as he's holy. He is worthy of our praise 👏
Some churches today are downplaying the role of the Holy Spirit, saying it is merely the thought of God. We don't understand the Trinity, it is a divine mystery. Jesus said the Spirit searches the deep things of God. He intercedes for us, woos us to Christ, convicts of sin, and COMFORTS us. The Spirit of God strove upon the waters in Genesis, taking a part in the creation of this world. He inspires men to write Holy things. Just as we see heavenly beings declaring HOLINESS three times, let us worship God, His Son, and the Holy Spirit. Thank you, Luke. It is a reminder to reverence our God!
This was very enlightening. Thank you! I'm currently writing a prog song called Eternal Antiphony which has to with the angels singing holy holy holy and wanted to do some more research on the topic. This helped! Also "prog" is basically short for progressive metal which in a nutshell, at least in my opinion, is metal but with a lot more major chords involved. Happy metal if you will lol. Thanks again!
The Holy Spirit, pneuma in the Greek, is the breath of God, the very Life of God, the essence of God that proceeds from The ancient of days, The Father to His only begotten Son.
I'm sad when I see that so many churches have decided to oust the good old hymns in favour of modern worship singing supposedly to pander to the youth....most of the congregation is old but uncatered for. I left such a one-sided church and joined one that still sings hymns like this one which I've sung from my youth. Thank you for speaking about it.
¹³ Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour Me, but have removed their heart far from Me, *and their fear[reverence] toward Me is taught by the precept of men:* -Isaiah 29:13
I think you would like our church before the sermon we often sing many of these “old” hymns AND the scriptures are wholly preached verse by verse but I am biased wouldn’t want it any other way
In rejecting the truth, men reject its Author. In trampling upon the law of God, they deny the authority of the Law-giver. *.....It is as easy to make an idol of false doctrines and theories as to fashion an idol of wood or stone.* By misrepresenting the attributes of God, Satan leads men to conceive of Him in a false character. With many, *a philosophical idol [The Trinity] is enthroned in the place of Jehovah;* while the living God, as He is revealed in His word, in Christ, and in the works of creation, is worshiped by but few. Thousands deify nature while they deny the God of nature. Though in a different form, idolatry exists in the Christian world today as verily as it existed among ancient Israel in the days of Elijah. The god of many professedly wise men, of philosophers, poets, politicians, journalists-the god of polished fashionable circles, of many colleges and universities, even of some theological institutions-is little better than Baal, the sun-god of Phoenicia God is not three; nor is He three-in-one yet still one, *that idea originates from paganism.* More specifically it originated from Babel, before God confused the language of man and caused every person to disperse into the world. That is why every single religion on the planet is virtually identical, only the names of the gods are different. The Trinity represents the three phases of the sun at it's rise/birth, at it's zenith at midday, and finally it's death at sunset; yet it being the same sun at all phases. The Trinity god is not actually supported by Scripture *unless you twist it,* and the Jews were non-trinitarian so there is no logical reason for Christians to be trinitarian. It was introduced into the church four centuries after the crucifixion by mere men, who were steeped in Gnosticism and in Greek philosophy. The Alexandria catechetical school, which revered Clement of Alexandria and Origen, the greatest theologian of the Greek Church, as its heads, applied the allegorical method to the explanation of Scripture. Its thought was influenced by Plato: its strong point was [pagan] *theological speculations.* Athanasius and the three Cappadocians *[the men whose Trinitarian views were adopted by the Catholic Church at the Councils of Nicaea and Constantinople]* had been included among its members.” (Hubert Jedin, Ecumenical Councils of the Catholic Church: an Historical Outline, 1960, p. 28) The Bible actually defines Antichrist as anyone who denies that there is a literal Father and Son, and that Jesus is the literal Word of God made flesh. ²² Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. ²³ Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: but he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also *-1 John 2:22-23* So the doctrine of the Trinity itself is Antichrist because it denies a Literal Father, the Lord God Almighty, and a literal (begotten) Son, who was born OF THE FLESH. ⁴ There is one body, and one Spirit [Holy Spirit], even as you are called in one hope of your calling; ⁵ One Lord [Jesus Christ], one faith, one baptism, ⁶ One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. *-Ephesians 4:4-6* ³ And this is life eternal, that they might know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. *-John 17:3* In short, *if you worship the Trinity god in any form you are worshiping Baal, who is Satan.* ⁶ But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him. *-1 Corinthians 8:6*
Yet this Holy God challenges sinful man to be holy. He would not extend that challenge if it were not possible for man to die to self and cling to then ONE who made it possible.
With tears in my voice I plead with you my brother not to teach the false doctrine that the Holy Spirit is another god. Pagan Rome brought the trinity doctrine into the church in 325 AD. The apostles never taught this error. They never used the word trinity to describe the godhead as three gods in one.
The trinity doctrine theory falsely states that all three are without beginning and co-equal. This defies the Scriptures which testifies of the Godhead is literally a relationship between the Father, and His only begotten Son.
Beginning assumed the existence of time, of which the Begetting of the Son lies outside of it. The Son is as eternal as the Father, do not get your concepts that are bound by time mixed up with things that lie outside our natural realm
@captainkrajick The mystic trinity teaching says that the Son is Co-eternal with father...??? The Holy Spirit inspired King Solomon wrote in the 8th chapter of Proverbs that the Lord Jesus far back in eternities' past was brought forth, that He had a beginning... ²² The Lord possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old. ²³ *I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning,* or ever the earth was. ²⁴ When there were no depths, *I was brought forth;* when there were no fountains abounding with water. ²⁵ Before the mountains were settled, before the hills *was I brought forth:* ²⁶ While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world. ²⁷ When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth: ²⁸ When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep: ²⁹ When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth: ³⁰ Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him; ³¹ Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men. *-Proverbs 8:22-31*

If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: *for My Father is "greater" than I.* *-John 14:28* ¹⁶ Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; *neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.* *-John 13:16*

There’s no such thing as a Trinity, that is only Catholic theology that comes from the pagans. Nowhere in the Bible, do we see a Trinity, we only see the worship of one God and his son Jesus Christ
1Jn 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. Jesus is the word. 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

The phrase *"God the holy spirit"* is not in the Scriptures.
⁹ But in vain they do worship me, *teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.*
-Matthew 15:9
In rejecting the truth, men reject its Author. In trampling upon the law of God, they deny the authority of the Law-giver.
*.....It is as easy to make an idol of false doctrines and theories as to fashion an idol of wood or stone.*

The Bible actually defines Antichrist as anyone who denies that there is a literal Father and Son, and that Jesus is the literal Word of God made flesh.
²² Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
²³ Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: but he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also
*-1 John 2:22-23*
So the doctrine of the Trinity itself is Antichrist because it denies a Literal Father, the Lord God Almighty, and a literal (begotten) Son, who was born OF THE FLESH.
⁴ There is one body, and one Spirit [Holy Spirit], even as you are called in one hope of your calling;
⁵ One Lord [Jesus Christ], one faith, one baptism,
⁶ One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
*-Ephesians 4:4-6*
³ And this is life eternal, that they might know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
*-John 17:3*
In short, *if you worship the Trinity god in any form you are worshiping Baal, who is Satan.*
⁶ But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.
