    This video is awesome. It really takes a strong person to put yourself out there like this. I've had 3 seizures, completely losing my joy in food after the last one at 200 lbs. It's been hard to keep weight on for several years but recently started gaining weight again. You have opened my eyes to why I'm gaining now and what I need to do to stop it. Thank you!!

    I lost 9lbs in a week. I just eat potatoes, but NO Salt, NO Oil, NO Sugar, and the boil potatoes help you loose weight faster. Now I'm on my second week and Im adding a little bit of ketchup and spicy sauce (sometimes). I only drink water and milk. If you used condiments, is harder to loose the weight. Drinking plain hot water will help when using condiments. It gets easier on the second week. The more time it passes, the easier it gets. I may go for a full month. GOOD LUCK!

    There's refined sugars in all processed foods. Detoxing from that is the hardest and can trigger migraine in those with a history of them. Usually after 7 days your body is clear of the craving. Your brain does need good fats like olive oil, avacodo, peanuts. Those should be added after 7 days. When I cut out bread, potatoes, sugars, and processed foods, I felt so good and lost interest in junk food, soda, chocolate, ect. For years. I am proud of you! Your body will continue to treat you good if you keep it up. That's how I found the strength to end my cycle of bulimia also. You go girl! Much love!

    • @pts5217
      @pts5217 6 лет назад +6

      Ling it’s not necessarily bc you love the way food tastes, but bc sugar/fat/salt makes the pleasure centers of your brain explode. Makes you feel good and happy for a very short time the same way certain drugs or an orgasm makes you feel good, but unfortunately, the good feeling is very short lived like drugs and orgasms. When I’m depressed/angry/bored/anxious etc...I eat horrible foods. It’s so bad for you. This helps break that cycle. Vigorous exercise works amazingly well too and actually makes you happier overall where poor diet makes you gradually unhappier.

    I went whole Foods, Plant Based, Sugar, oil, processed food free, with very minimal salt and I've had amazing results. My skin is better, my hair is better, my mood is better, the swelling in my lower legs is almost gone. Salt was the hardest which is why I went to minimal salt instead of salt free. I can't imagine going back. For the first time in my life I feel my eating disorder no longer takes over, and when I do binge eat, the food I binge on won't hurt me or cause me to gain weight. Every once in awhile I get tempted, but cravings are minimal to nothing.

    I’m eating 1.5 kg of potatoes a day, I’m using just salt and spices to add some flavour. No sauces, no oil, no butter. Maybe I will add some vegetables like zucchini or carrots or something like that.
    I’m considering adding some dates tho, because my blood sugar tends to drop when I’m not eating something sweet like fruit etc.

    bland cooked potatoes have the advantage to not contain artificial sweeteners which would f up your gut microbiome.
    one of the benefits of the potato diet is healing the gut microbiome with fiber and resistance starch (chilled potatoes). drinking non pasteurized organic ACV helps with this too.
    this together addresses all the satiety/blood sugar lowering hormones like CCK, GLP-1, PYY.
    the cravings will go away because of these hormones. are you drinking diet sodas? ==> cut it out.
    the migraine could be the keto flu. add salt to combat it. btw. the banana sabotaged it big time.
    i am trying that too but i will cycle it with beef&eggs to get enough protein. that means two days potatoes, two days ground beef&eggs, two days potatoes, two days ground beef&eggs, .....

    Eggs, nuts, sheesh. How can you call what you did an elimination diet? You are definitely right about the 12 lbs being mostly water weight. The fact that you found potatoes boring is an indication of not staying on them long enough. I agree with those below that your "cold" was probably more a symptom of detoxification than of virus. The headache? dehydration. I don't think you did your best. I hope you try a potato-only diet sometime, not for days but for weeks if not months; i think you'll like it. But hey that's easy for me to say.

    The old & other issues were probably a detox response. 14 days is probably nothing like long enough to get a real benefit.

    To reset, the potatoes should not have anything, no herbs, no pepper, if it’s absolutely necessary then add some salt.

    1. No calories till 12 noon
    2. Oatmeal raisins for lunch
    3. No junk food
    4. No liquid calories
    5. Walk one hr a day.
    Walking 1 hr a day equals 36lbs of fat per year

    I dont understand how people "struggle" to eat more than 200kcal worth of taters in 1 sitting... i legit down a kilo and am not satiated AT ALL... if i eat until full/satisfied, i need like 1.5kg minimum...

      I haven’t been making videos this year. I am still gluten free, as a DNA test confirmed celiac. I was also vegetarian for a little over a year following this detox. I added back in a very small amount of meat and fish, 1-2 servings a week. I’ve maintained the weight loss from that video for 18 months, and planning on starting another calorie cut this week to lose the last 25lbs. That would put me at my 5 year goal of losing 125lbs. I’ve been intentionally doing it very slowly to let myself adjust to the new lifestyle along the way.

    I just found you, so just hoping it all went well. I call myself a lifetime food addict. Still powerless to completely eat like a "normie." I lost about 80 lbs when I tightened up my vegetarian eating plan to vegan.. mostly raw. I was committed. Well, that didn't last, and I began to justify... well, you know. I need to weigh myself so I can get real, but this video has helped. I claim to be following the Maximum Weight Loss Plan/drmcdougall.com ... but I tend to justify eating in ways that don't serve me well. I always get a few lbs off, and immediately put it back on. Keeps me in that perpetual diet mentality place. Still, like you, i'm not as obsessed about old binge foods as I used to be, so I consider that a plus. Thanks for your honesty. I'm going to check out your other videos.

    Ok. You’ve convinced me. I’m gonna do it and commit to 21 days. Did you follow soudfit or Potato reset or just did whatever you thought was best? Did you prep your family’s food before hand?

    • @Art365
      @Art365  5 лет назад

      I didn’t follow anyone else’s plan. I just ate potatoes. No plan necessary. I used small amounts of seasonings, but kept it very basic and minimal, as the whole point was to keep it bland to “reset” my taste preferences and cravings.
      I’m not much of a food prepper, so I just cooked as normal for my family. However, half way through the first week, I developed a sinus infection, and between that and beginning a new medication, I ended up with a multi-day migraine, so my husband took on most of the meal making for several days.
      I don’t recommend starting any sort of elimination diet when beginning a new medication or any other lifestyle change. One thing at a time is better for the body, and also better to pinpoint whatever it is that is causing the issues you’re trying to fix with the diet.
      It’s coming up in two years since I made this video, and I have kept the weight off. I also discovered through this diet that I have extreme gluten intolerance. I haven’t tested positive for celiac (you have to be eating gluten for the test to work, and I’m not subjecting myself to that just to get validation from the test), but I did a 23andMe DNA test and it said that I have a high likelihood for celiac. That’s enough validation for me, and I haven’t touched gluten since this video.

      Salt is salt. NaCl is all the same. Color or procedence don't change its properties. Pink is for the iron rust. Sea salt has microplastics and other contaminants, like lead.
