Thanks you two. AJ you look amazing! Andrew, your diet saved my life 3 years ago. I did potatoes and sweet potatoes for a year. I lost 85 pounds. Since then I've gotten sloppy with too much fruit and added in overt fats. I'm a WFPBNO startchavore and unfortunately that isn't enough. As of tomorrow I'm doing a 6 month potato ONLY challenge to not only drop the 15 pounds I've regained (I'm still concidered slender) but to truly get the point that food is not my savior. Again, thank you.
Chef AJ is an incredibly good interviewer - I'm so impressed by how she juggles participant questions while staying in the conversation. Her positive attitude is infectious. I'm really inspired!
I keep watching these videos by AJ and I enjoy the top quality content of each one. Andrew interviewed Doug Lisle about The Pleasure Trap and it was a wonderful interview. Andrew seems like such a nice man. Something about those Aussies.
Chef AJ u need to add Andrew Spud Fit Taylor to The Truth About Weight Loss Summit as one of the speakers. Curbing food addiction, changing mental habits and altering our relationship with food is all part of the process for successfully sustaining our weight loss long term. The Spud Fit Challenge allows people to reset their eating habits by limiting their food choices for a limited amount of time. This simplifies everything for people while they make the change from regular, highly processed, highly addictive foods to low caloric, nutritionally dense foods. Penn Jillette started like this. Crocks in the Kitchen started like this. Potato Wisdom started like this. Andrew started like this. When all u need to remember in order to lose weight without exercising or counting calories is "Just Eat Potatoes" it takes a lot of stress off the mind. After u reset, then u can be successful transitioning to a WFPBNO diet and not feel restricted. You can start your new, healthy diet after getting past all the withdrawals/detoxing from the previous sugar, salt, fat diet and u can do so with new taste buds. Crocks in the kitchen said that it was doing potatoes only first which made transitioning to their new diet after that much easier. Penn Jillette said it was the mono diet which helped him keep things simple at the start and reset his taste buds. This reset period which the Spud Fit Challenge is made for is a crucial missing piece as to what "The Real Truth To Weight Loss..." really is. I'm currently watching all the interviews on your Truth About Weight Loss Summit and I'm always thinking at the end of every interview "And that's why The Spud Fit Challenge works and needs to be a part of this Summit..." The "Real Truth About Weight Loss" is if we haven't changed our mental relationship with food and created new thought patterns about it, then nothing we do is gonna be sustainable Please add Andrew Spud Fit Taylor to this year's 2021 Summit as a bonus speaker over and above. He can sum up the importance of changing our relationship with food in order to cut addictions and make those better food choices long term Thanks
I am so excited at the health improvements experienced with no-fat WFPB lifestyle change that I am doing my best to tell others. I've started a Facebook potluck group ("WVegan" -- we are in the capital of West Virginia) and share information like this on the timeline. When as a hardcore atheist I found out there truly *is* a God, I went from smug disbelief to obnoxious born-again Christian. Took years to learn how to tone down that excitement in order to better convey the message. Now I am an obnoxious no-fat WFPB proselyte, trying to learn how not to push this on people who don't want it (nearly everybody). So far, I have helped a few people though, so I'm not going to quit spreading the gospel of good nutrition. Hope to just get better at it. Thank you so much for all you do. Big hugs and kisses from West Virginia.
I missed this broadcast live but am watching the replay now. Mr. Spudfit is wonderful! I think in terms of when to do the interviews in the future once shelter in place is over, I think you can do what you are doing now and try to accommodate the time the guest is available and when you are available too. We can always watch the replays if need be but it is more fun to watch when live. Sometimes I find myself reading and replying in the chat more than listening to the guest so I have to watch that!
From South Africa. I've a lot of food intolerances so I only eat veggies and protein. I've lost 60 kgs still 15 to go but I'm on a plateau for months so I thought I would cut out the protein and dairy and go on a plant based plan. Hold thumbs.
Andrew Taylor is the best he's my coach I love him. I was violently assaulted at a doctors office in Soho New York City almost 8 years ago and everyone involved in the violence lies my patient rights being violated chose to either lie or be silent. Serious crimes have been committed my Civil rights violations because NYPD joined committing crimes in New York City - I couldn't make this up it's so horrifying and what's not reported worldwide is what's going on other kinds of terrible abuse now during the pandemic involving the medical community there's a little bit dribbling out but it's a horror story what I've been through and I gained 40 pounds and became .1 pre diabetic.. Andrews taught me like no other he's amazing
I usually store potatoes in the bottom of fridge and in produce drawers. They seem to last a long time. The only down side is that they do take up a lot of space.
My wife and I love you Chef AJ….My biggest problem is that I have no satiety response and can eat all day and night and wake up and eat. I get really confused when I eat-- even if I eat meals plant based and just starch and veggies and then overeat. Then I give up and throw in the towel. I have been thinking of stopping the confusion and trying eating only one food which for me would be oatmeal adn I came across this. I cannot eat potatoes everyday and after about 7 days I get a gag response and I have tried this diet. I wonder if Andre Taylor covered eating one food gives him control in the interview. I have such little time now and not enough to sit and watch the whole thing.
I can relate to your comment. I roll my eyes when I hear someone say, “it’s impossible to overeat on potatoes!” It’s not impossible. I love potatoes. Too much, I guess. I’ve gained weight on potatoes. Not enough vegetables. I can eat 4,000 calories of Hawaiian sweet potatoes. I’ve learned to have about a pound of potatoes with every meal and maybe an additional pound if I only have my vegetable with my meals. But I like vegetables as well. I love broccoli. I steam it. It seems I can move straight through pounds and pounds of plain broccoli with a dab of Melinda’s picante sauce with no resistance. I can just keep eating until I bust. The answer so far for me has been sticking to purple cabbage. It’s thick and meaty. I bring variety into my diet with raw kale while taking tiny sips of rice vinegar (per Esselstyn for the endothelium). Kale basically tastes like Doritos now. I launch an InstaPot of beets with vinegar from time to time as well - it pickles them. I throw in a few sticks of cinnamon and the taste is killer. But other than that, my diet has turned into a diet of cabbages. I have my potato as a dessert after I fill up on purple cabbage. I also try to stick to white russet potatoes but everytime I have the opportunity to sneak off to my Asian grocery, I can’t help myself - it’s a $120 haul of Hawaiians and I ride them out until they’re gone. But I just make sure I fill up bigtime on purple cabbage before I touch the potatoes. Otherwise, I’ll gain weight. Potatoes are just too good and I love how full they make me. So I have to fill up on cabbage first and use potatoes as a dessert. Having half broccoli, half cabbage before my potato feels like a crazy, ice cream treat. I still wake up in the middle of the night and eat kind of uncontrollably but I’ve found the secret weapon for this: every night before I fall asleep, I throw two pounds of baby carrots in the InstaPot. So if I do wake up in the middle of the night looking for a sweet snack, I have a big Pyrex tray of steamed baby carrots there on the counter waiting for me. I pour cinnamon on them and it feels like I’m standing in the kitchen going to town on carrot cake. Cabbage, potatoes, kale, beets, broccoli, carrots, vinegar, cinnamon. Maybe this will help. All I can say is that it feels like I live in a dream. It’s a fabulous life 👊🏼
I was thinking about the microbiom That so many People talk about that we need as much different food. What happend to microbiom on 1 year of patatos 🙂
thanks for the comment that you don't want veg after you have something starchy and it is harder to get it in. I thought I was broken that I don't like them. I just keep trying different ways to eat them and it is getting easier
How does everyone cook there potatoes for optimal health? Boil Roast Air fryer ? If you don't use salt or oil How do you all prepare potatoes especially white ones to taste ok Apart from fruit which needs no seasonings as fruit taste amazing on its own I try to do fully raw diet but I can't I need some stodge and cooked food at night but how to we keep it clean and nice I use salt on white ptotaots But obvs sweet potatoes don't need seasoning
My 8 year old wanted me to write and tell you to plant potatoes, then you get more potatoes. You still have to buy them, but they make lots more! ❤️ Thank you for such an inspiring video and sharing what you’ve learned!
we cant get those purple sweet potato in New Zealand which is really sad, I thought those purple sweet potato originated from Japan, they've been acredited for adding to the longevity of the older people...they eat lots a day..
I have often heard that potatoes turn to sugar in the body. Being a starch food it seems logical. Is there any scientific basis/research to support such a claim?
white potatoes can have a very high GI (85 for a baked potato) up to 101 for peeled boiled white potatoes!! (straight glucose has a GI of 100!) This can be problematic for some people, especially at the start of the journey, if suffering from insulin resistance , and of course the effect is much worse when carbs are combined with fat (potato and butter or hummus!) By contrast, the sweet potato has a GI of only 46, this is similar to most fruits...it also has a much lower glucose load (only 9, again more within the range of fresh fruit). Not saying white potatoes are bad but there are reasons why some people do better on sweet potato and squash, at least to start with
I think this is where Dr. McDougall talks about The fact that white potatoes don’t have vitamin a but they have vitamin C and sweet potatoes have vitamin A but not vitamin C so you should include both in your diet if you’re going to do potato only. And I think Andrew did have both.

How did it go? Potatoes for a month. Did you make it? How are you doing now?

I don't know how AJ does everything she does! God bless AJ and continued good health🥰❤️🥰 shout out to Andrew. He is such a sweet man. Love him too!
I don't either! LOL 🤪
I love the comment about fitting into his racing kayak. That is my first goal too! I hope to be able to do so by the end of the summer.

Thank you!
Wow I had never heard of Andrew and I’m an Aussie so I am going to do the 7 day challenge
A roasted spud in the oven is yummy with black beans and onion chutney. Especially when it’s a royal dutch cream potato
I love the yellow rich creamy ones.
Loved this interview, thank you from Melbourne Australia xx
This video is 1:11:11....good sign.
Okinawa Sweet potato/ purple I love to cut in coins and steam with Sea salt and eat hot or cold! My favorite here in Hawai’i!🥰😋
On the potassium thing...most people with kidney issues are put on a lower potassium diet. My sister has kidney disease and had to cut back.
🤣 🥔 … AJ you are too hilarious!!! Andrew & Spud Fit are one of my favorites! 🥔 💪
What a sweet guy!

Andrew could teach us all a few things about humility.

Mrs. Roper not that I’ve noticed.
The Yukon Gold maybe is the Creamy Delight in Australia... I'm not 100% sure though. Would love to know more about the equivalent potatoes in Au?
Dutch creams are my favourite from Australia 😍

Thank you AJ ❣️❣️❣️
Such a good show on Spuds 💕💯❣️🌹thank you Cheif AJ 🥰🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🧚💫☺️
Glad you enjoyed it
Chef AJ, do you peel your Yukon golds???
No, I don't
How does everyone cook there potatoes for optimal health?
Boil
Roast
Air fryer ?
If you don't use salt or oil
How do you all prepare potatoes especially white ones to taste ok
Apart from fruit which needs no seasonings as fruit taste amazing on its own
I try to do fully raw diet but I can't I need some stodge and cooked food at night but how to we keep it clean and nice I use salt on white ptotaots
But obvs sweet potatoes don't need seasoning
Air fried white potatoes don't need any seasoning to taste delicious, but you can always use your choice of no-salt seasonings.
@@CHEFAJ did you eat it at night?
Chef AJ do use salt on your food? Also do you drink coffee?
Take salt is poisonous. BUT Salt is important. I eat Himalayan pink salt and I have seaweed flakes in it so that I get my iodine.

He ate only potatoes
chef AJ what about salt on this diet it seems to be deficient
SOS free means no salt, sugar or oil
how were the potatoes prepared?
that potato with grey skin and purple potato is from Philippines it is called ube
Rice can also keep you satiated just as long also
In europe we say hunger is the best cook, chef.
I’m from Dallas, Tx. Do you know if there is a group that gets together in Dallas?
You're welcome to try the Feel Fabulous group for 2 weeks for free for support from all over the country: therawadvantage.com
CHEF AJ Thank you!! I’ll check it out!
Why only potatoes? Greens and cruciferous vegetables will help you too.
That goes without saying
Pounds down spuds 🥔
can i have mash potatos ...like the instant ones i buy at the store for this diet to work
I don't think so, as they are heavily processed and probably have unwanted additives. Why not use whole potatoes?
I have often heard that potatoes turn to sugar in the body. Being a starch food it seems logical. Is there any scientific basis/research to support such a claim?
for a scientific explanation, you may want to check on NutritionFactrs.org
Roasted in the oven in their skins until tender they are not fattening when you cook them this way
Potato Waffles! Yum 😋
Potato is the perfect food
bananas make me happy! not just one or two but a day of bananas only (5 or 6 for a meal) maybe it's the tryptophan...definitely works...
HI
Now I wish I had some potatoes 😂🥔🥔🥔
People with chronic kidney disease are told to watch how much potassium they eat, among other things.
I’ve been vegetarian for 50 years now.
Why not vegan? Eggs and dairy are cruel and unhealthy.

How MANY potatoes can you eat? I can eat a LOT of potatoes.
As many as you like
As many as you like, but without oil and salt you will eat only what your body needs. It is easier to find yourself stop without over eating.

Cook and cool white potatoes, and they become resistant starch! Even if you heat them up again, it's fine. Great for colon health also.
I'm skeptical of those results
haha he does look like a potato :D
