Love this!! 57-year-old male, 5 years plant-based. My doctor was getting ready to prescribe meds for my high cholesterol. I begged her to give me 6 months to improve it with diet and exercise and she rolled her eyes, smiled, and said, "What could it hurt? Sure, I'll give you 6 months. I went whole food plant-based. In 6 months my LDL cholesterol went from 134 to 81. 6 months later it had dropped to 68. As far as this new way of eating taking a lot of time, in my experience, it only takes a lot of time for a few months. You're learning. Once you learn how to shop and prepare your food, it's not any more time consuming than it was before. As for cost? I no longer purchase meat, cheese, eggs, milk, butter, or ice cream. I'm pretty sure I'm spending less money eating whole food plant-based. Thank you, Rich. I love and appreciate your work!!
@@gd8740 I lost 40 pounds and my wife lost 30 and we weren't even "dieting." But the key is eating whole food plant-based. There are plenty of vegan processed foods out there. Coca-Cola is vegan. Oreos are vegan. Tortilla chips dipped in hummus are vegan. But to get healthier and lose weight you have to eat whole food (not processed) plant-based and don't overeat. You have to stop eating when you're no longer hungry, don't eat until you're full. By the time your brain gets the message that you're full, you've overeaten a little. As soon as you think, "Huh I'm not really hungry anymore," stop and put the rest of your food in the fridge for your next meal. Good luck!
Hey, your comment was very inspirational! I’m thinking about switching from Keto to WFPB, but I also want to continue doing intermittent fasting (16:8 or 20:4) and exercise to gain learn muscle. In your experience is the diet sustainable for both of these things at the same time? Also, what kinds of foods do you like to eat the most? Thanks! ^^
@@gd8740 Surely you will lose weight plant-based. You don't have to understand the science behind it, it is just a reality. You don't even have to do strenuous exercise. Just enjoy the veggies, the fruit, the beans - they are delicious.
Going on 5 years plant based. Onset cardiovascular and type two diabetes. Took about 6 weeks to rid the diabetes and here we are 5 years later, I bike upwards of 100 miles a week, run 50 miles a week. I'm 36 and I'm the healthiest I've ever been. Thank you everyone who helped. If you ate plants and told me to eat plants, you f*cking helped me! So I thank all of you for helping me find me! Life is great! Health is wealth!
@@ppittie9747 oh I wish that person had answered you or will soon. I miss lots of replies I get on comments to they don't always show up in notifications. Perhaps he or she will see it one of these days and you will get your answer!
Hi. I have started my journey with plant based diet because of high blood pressure. But it doesn’t help. It’s been a few months now. I’m on two types of medications that helps to drop it down. What can be wrong if you see any reason. Me too I’d like to be healthy, have clear mind, exercise every day but I can’t. I feel just tired all the time and with no energy. Keep strong Marcin
@@mb-pianostore you need to remove the processed foods. Plant based doesn't mean healthy. Look into grape fasting. Fasting is a important part of our recovery for our health. Helps clean some of that toxic build up also. Try to focus on whole food plant based. Eat as much fruit as possible. This post has made me want to start making videos. I was a type two diabetic plus onset cardiovascular. No longer have diabetes and my blood pressure is perfect these days. I have no health issues and bike upwards of 100 miles a week amongst other workouts. Hardest part about this is commiting. Gotta give it 100.
@@CKeim1986 thanks a lot for your reply. I do eat a lot of fruits, trying to east only raw or just cooked veggies, using pressure cooker. Just a few days ago started intermittent fasting, like I don’t eat anything (except drinking water) 7-8pm until 8-9am. All my life I was stuffing myself in the evening, this habit was the hardest to break. I don’t smoke, no alcohol, no sugar for most of my life.
March 2023: 20 years vegan. 61 years old. Someone last week thought I’m 43 lol. I actually feel better now than when I was a carnivore in my 30s. Best health decision I ever made, though I originally switched to a plant-based diet to avoid animal cruelty. Excited to see what the next 20, 30, 40 years have in store 😁
What do you eat mainly as your staples? You think that Ezekiel 4:9 golden flax sprouted cereal in the blue box is healthy? Thanks, i got a box, cool it don't use flour and it's sprouted
@@Zachhatesyoutube lol you're deluded. you know how many ppl i constantly see who get sick on a carnivore diet? A LOT... if it were the case humans were carnivores that wouldn't be occurring. Humans are omnivores, not carnivores
My wife and I had changed to a plant based diet but when she got the cancer diagnosis her doctors didn’t know how to work with plant based. They were all sold on Keto so we switched to Keto to make it easier. Originally we switched to plant based because my blood work came back so bad and I wanted to try it. Within 6 weeks I had reversed EVERYTHING. I had crossed over to type 2, and that was no longer an issue. So, my wife passed and my diet was complete garbage after that this last year and my heart has started to give me fits. Blood pressure is out of control even being on multiple BP drugs. I’ve switched back to plant based now and we will see how quickly I can change my body once again.
I could name a massive number of people in my life who have cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and many other health concerns, but I'm not going to do that. What I will say is I feel like such a Cassandra saying a plant-based diet can save you, and not being taken seriously. Thank you for preaching the Gospel Rich.
Since I went Vegan 38 years ago I have never once ‘’felt afraid to stand up for myself’’ etc, because I am standing up proudly for the voiceless animals!. That is the difference between a ‘’plant based diet’’ and Veganism that is an ethical philosophical position! 🌻
Hi, "D"...77 and vegan...fabulous. I've been a vegan for 38 years and, like you, at 71 I still run every day and have more energy than kids half my age. Almost every person I meet observes, "You have so much energy!" I sleep well, love to dance even if it's only with my little dogs. We are created herbivores and respect what herbivores eat. When we follow species specific diets we thrive.
I went alcohol free 4/18. Next up is plant based..... My 48th bday is sat. Time to start-up my gym practice, too. Thx for the motivation 🍎 🥗 🫘 not only is this content curation very timely, but also the synergistic affect of removing booze has finally fixed my sleep. Honestly dreaming like i did in my twenties 😮 💤
'Animal Compassion' was my reason for becoming 100% plant-based 1/1/18. Live in rural Arkansas and watch the death trucks stuffed with chickens drive by every week. Surrounded by chicken farms so this weekly parade keeps me on track. I remember the first time I went shopping and only bought vegetables. Got home and just stared at this pile of veggies. Felt very confused. So, I started watching podcases about the superior nutrition in plants vs meat. Within 2 weeks I had no more bone pain in my knees, shoulder or lower back. No more acid reflux. Plus, my conscience was finally clear. I did not support animal cruelty in any way.
@@freepdfjunkie2193 I respectfully disagree. Research will tell you that most of the worlds crops (something like 80%) go towards feeding farm animals. There is ten times more land cleared for farm animals than for crops. Veganism is not perfect but it is a hell of a lot better for animals than the alternative. Theres a lot of misinformation out there about Veganism bc theres an agenda to keep making money off the exploitation of animals. Vegans dont have any other agenda other than minimising animal cruelty.
Last summer, I went to a week-long family reunion. I was the only plant-based non meat eater in the group. For me, the keys to success were planning ahead, and not making a big deal out of it. I planned my meals, and shopped when i arrived, and kept the focus on reconnecting, not differences in eating choices.
Just listened to first few minutes, then had to hit pause and comment. I’m vegan. Have been for a few years. My wife is keto. We make it work. And it’s very easy. Everything boils down to planning the menu. Do we fix a nice vegan meal for me, she eats same or some… but then we grill shrimp, fish, chicken or beef for her. She won’t / can’t eat rice, pasta, potatoes… so those we put in separate plate. Her diet works for her. My diet works for me. It’s very easy. We both love broccoli and Brussels sprouts… kale salad, etc. So find the things you have in common that you love. Share those. Then separate out the others. Easy breezy, lemon squeezee.
At 6 feet tall and 215 pounds (having weighed 145 lbs. In high school) I had high blood pressure, Arthritis, Asthma, hay fever, diverticulitis and felt terrible and had no energy. 6 months on the McDougall diet (vegan focused on starch). I lost 50 pounds and all my health issues are gone. God bless you both for spreading the word! I have enjoyed your videos...keep up the good work Rich!
Congrats! Im glad you took your health back! It's so interesting how some people thrive on the starch solution and how other report they felt worst, or saw no change etc. I wonder if they followed the protocol exactly or if they were still eating fats and oil.m and not fully aware or telling the truth. How are you now maintaining your weight now? Is your weight stable while still eating the starch solution? Or do you have to eat fats or nuts every now and then to maintain your weight? I don't hear much about people who maintain. For example, I know someone who is technically eating starch solution, and their weight dropped to dangerous levels and I can't convince them to eat anything else. I'm talking 30 to 40lbs underweight, they don't even weigh 100lbs and she's a geown woman. I'm convinced they aren't eating enough calories though, and its not really the diet. But do you find maintaining your weight hard?
When God created man He placed him in the Garden of Eden. Read Ezekiel 47:12 “Fruit is for Meat, and the Leaves is for Medicine.” Revelation 22:2 “The Leaves of the Tree is for the Healing of the nation.” 2 Corinthians 13:1 “Out of the mouth of two or three witnesses let every Word be established.” The grass withers, the flowers fade, but (better understand this!) the Word of God shall Forever Stand! Question: How Long is Forever? Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. Fight Back sickness and diseases going back to the Garden. Fight Back and Win‼️
Thank you for the information in this discussion! I'm turning 60 in a few days. A little history... I've always been active, in truth ADHA ruled! I came out of the womb a carnivore, raised on a farm. Have always recognized eating fruits and vegetables made me feel better, but only carried around the thought of going vegetarian without ever doing it. My older sister was diagnosed with breast cancer three years ago, and it was that event, her diagnosis that pushed me to eliminate animal protein, except egg and cheese, from my diet. Fast forward to now, January 2024, I'm now eleven days into being vegan. I feel so much better. I could say so much more but I highly recommend anyone who is sick and tired of being sick and tired....try eating more and more plants, you'll never regret it. My motivation for eating this way boils down to spiritual, physical and psychological reasons. I do not want to live the remaining years of my life being a burden to myself, my son nor society. It's just that simple and I feel great! Thanks again for your discussions about plant based diets backed by science.
Good luck with sticking to Vegan diet. I’m afraid I haven’t had the will power to do that, but have cut out processed foods and have massively increased the percentage of plant based food in my diet. After losing over 2 stone in 6 months without feeling hungry I just wish I’d made the changes sooner (I’m 58), but better late than never😊. Hope your sister is well
@@johnmartin9321 thank you for your reply. My sister, Renee, is in full remission and doing exceptionally well, thank you Jesus!! I've encouraged her to make changes in her eating food plan, small changes that would be manageable. She says she has. My brother, Buddy, and his wife have as made changes as well as he is diabetic and has an aneurysm that is being monitored by his cardiologist. My son, Julian, is another that I have to go slowly without making him feel I'm pushing to heavily. Though when we eat together with meals I prepare he says he likes them and feels good! Again, tha k you Jesus!! People may get tired of my talking about eating plant based food and how much better you can feel, but I don't care. It will definitely improve how someone may feel, and just may save someone's life!
I'm addicted to food, and it's a big unhealthy part of my "personality". I used to be addicted to drugs, and I think once I kicked that habit, I picked up food as my vice. I love all animals and I find my own hypocrisy to be conflicting. I weigh more than I ever have, have more health problems than when I was in active addiction, and I think it's time I give this a real go.
I love food too, and since going WFBP/Strictly vegan diet, my body rewards my eating with getting leaner and lighter the more I eat instead of feeling sleepy and gaining fat. Especially since I allow myself to eat to satiety with every meal consisting of whole grains, fruits and vegetables and little to no added oil. It’s literally greener on this side of life and I love it!
Do it. You got this! I am new to this too but I'm a foodie and a pretty good home cook and I find this an interesting challenge to adjust my 'go to' recipes to a vegan form. I'm the heaviest I've been and had a problem with alcohol and high blood pressure and just feeling crappy. I'm with you. We got this! Let's go!
I know what you mean! I had a horrible relationship with food right before I went vegan 6 years ago. I was so addicted to junk food, and I never would have saw myself become how I am now. I love cooking and prefer healthier options and real whole plant based foods because it's what makes me feel the best. Did you give it a try yet?!

47 days plant strong. Just had blood work . Cholesterol dropped from a high of 2 years ago 220 to a healthy 186!! Feeling good and losing my taste for bad foods. Losing .5lbs per week. Can’t wait to get my A1C back. Last summer it was 5.9. My Dr said no worries but I would like it down a bit. 70 and fairly fit! lol. Good luck everyone. This is a power packed presentation. TY
I’m 5 weeks post heart attack, took a chance and ate pure carnivore the year before, lucky to have survived, I feel 100% better now on a WFPB diet, stopped smoking which also played a large role in my heart health. Also wanted to say I really like the picture you took with T. Colin Campbell 👍
43:02 where Dr. Garth Davis is talking about how your tastebuds change to crave a kale salad, etc. I was one of those people that never thought I wouldn’t want processed foods, but I’m 2+ years plant-based and the thought of some of the food I used to eat is seriously off-putting. I ate one tiny bite of a “normal” brownie recently and I had to spit it out. It tasted insanely sweet, felt greasy in my mouth, and had a chemical aftertaste. Fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes are as delicious to me as fried junk food used to be! Not to mention I’ve easily lost 75lbs and feel better now at 44 than I felt in my 20s.
Thank you Rich for influencing my life, I've been vegan a little over 2 years, I continue to learn and improve my life not only eating plants but also doing my best to help our mother earth and to animal well being. I do so appreciate you and your wonderful guests who bring such wisdom. ☮🌱🙏
If you are going vegan to save the planet or animals you are very missguided. The vegan diet is the worst. You eat avocados. Look up how avocados are farmed and the amount of water that is used and all the transportation back and forth across the seas. But, it'ss not only avocados. It's tropical fruits that are transported over long distances. It's the farming pracitice used farming the crop. It's completely insane what you vegans do to every small animal and insect that live in or close to the crop. You are killing everything. The pesticides, the fertilizers etc. Wake up!
@@jaghad. The 80 billion land animals eaten every year need to be fed (plants)and watered before you eat them. Those plants eaten by the animals must be cultivated with land (plenty of rain forest cut down) and massive quantities of pesticides. Animals eat and drink vastly more than humans. You’re employing wilful ignorance and mental gymnastics to underpin your arguments.
@@jaghad Are you really blaming the 1% of the population that is vegan for eating all the avocados and tropical fruit? Lol, what? And what do you think they use to grow all the crops the animals eat? We slaughter 80 billion animals per year - that's ten times the human population...use your brain, man.
I'm trying to improve my health, wondering why I shouldn't eat meat, when even the American Heart Association has said there is no danger to human health from animal meat and animal fat, including saturated fat? And never was apparantly! So, what's the story? Amazing easily absorbed nutrients in meat without any heart issues in the future...
@@damienroberts934 Right from the American Heart Association: In general, red meats (such as beef, pork and lamb) have more saturated fat than skinless chicken, fish and plant proteins. Saturated fats can raise your blood cholesterol and increase your risk of heart disease. Do you guys put ANY effort in at all? 🤦♀️
Love, love, love this masterclass and I pray it has a positive effect on many. I’m 51 and plant powered for 8 years and only wish I had done it sooner. God bless
It’s disheartening when people we love don’t believe the benefits but I look at it as survival of the fittest. Sadly, many are aging and dying way faster because of their diet and eventually the plant based eaters will prevail.
The sooner you accept that people are not going to change until they are ready (and sometimes they are never ready), the sooner you will stop being concerned about it. People have a right to live the life they choose.
I am so inspired!! I became plant based a year ago with amazing results. But I still held on to heavy cream every morning in my tea and butter on my popcorn. I will now be giving up ALL animal products. Thanks Rich for putting together this truly helpful compilation of expert opinion. It was captivating and extremely motivating!!!
I love cream in my coffee. My favorite is Sown oat milk creamer please give it a try! Once I switched I noticed if I ever had heavy cream again it felt super heavy and weird in my body.
I’m like you and I jumped straight in a whole grain plant food diet. Husband agreed but as the main cook I had a very limited range of dishes to start with. This was about February 2015 after watching Forks over Knives. I had cause to see my GP and she said ‘you don’t come to see us very much do you’, I felt very proud! I was also sent for a routine health check given to people in their mid 70s. ‘Do you know why you’ve been sent for’ the nurse asked me. I had no idea and it was because I never go to the doctors they wanted to make sure that I had no hidden problems! My husband was sent for shortly after, same reason. It works!

I was living a paleo carnivore diet. Since I’ve started transitioning to plant based I feel so good. I sleep better and I feel satisfied when I eat. I now find meat a boring tasteless thing to consume. I don’t want to eat meat more. So weird how my gut has changed. I’m impressed with my cholesterol changes.
Never going back to animal products. I thought i was healthy while being an omnivore. When I went plant based. Plants exposed how unhealthy i was. Thank God for healing foods. Its a blessing.
This is my favorite episode. I’ve been whole food plant based for a little over a year and love it. My teenage kids are mainly wfpb but sometimes they fall off the wagon. I’m sending this episode to them. If they really get the importance that what they eat is crucial for their wellness and longevity, that will be the biggest gift I could give them.
I am a whole foods based eater, no dairy, no meat no oil and minimally processed and I’ve been Whole Foods for four years. Love it love all the information and I loved listening to the podcast even though I knew 99% of it fully enjoyed it. Thank you...
I recently became Veggie curious and started the hunt for some good, credible information. Finding this podcast sent me deeper and quicker down the rabbit hole than I could have ever expected. I never thought I would go vegan, it still feels really weird to even say that. I thought maybe I would go vegetarian but that I couldn't give up dairy. I feel like setting the bar at WFPB made vegan seem easy in comparison. Anyway, thanks Rich and crew, this is a powerful resource.
Such a positive service to humanity. Thank you Rich and all of your guest speakers here. I plan to re watch this several times to stay on track. This is important not just for physical health but mental health and the health our entire planet!
So much power in a plant-based diet. Not to mention the environmental footprint, habitat destruction, loss of biodiveristy, impact on food security, increased infectious zoonotic disease risk, increased risk of antibiotic resistance, or the needless slaughter of 80 billion living, breathing, feeling land animals per year!
That's a whole lotta kool-aid you're slingin' there. Did nearly three years as a strict vegan. Super neat ideology but there will likely never be a vegan option that is nutritionally comparable to high quality meat and eggs.
Go vegan for your health, whole food plant based. Go vegan for the animals. Go vegan for the planet. A lower risk of heart disease and cancer for you and a better planet for everyone, human and animals. Eating healthy is not a diet it is a healthy life style.
Stellar compilation as always, Rich always downplays his own impact while hosting such talented guests.. but he is right there with them in my opinion. A modern day Paul Revere to send life saving messages to the masses

Thank you. Everybody should hear this. It's not as hard as it sounds though at least it wasn't for me. Spaghetti just no animals, burritos, tacos, pizza, lasagna, potatoes, chili, squash, sandwiches, scrambles, stirfry, ramen, pho, Buddha bowls, sushi nori, ton of Indian, Greek, Asian foods and the list goes on just made without animals or dairy and after a little while it's just normal ❤🥦🍅🥬🍎💚
Exactly. It makes you realise how conditioned people are. The what do you eat now? question is ridiculous. My experience was actually exciting, changing my taste habits with new proteins, textures, flavours, meals etc.
Isn’t it interesting that most cultures have easily veganized foods (if not naturally vegan), yet the American culture is just animal flesh based foods? That’s wild to me. Your list of foods reminded me of this… I love being vegan, it’s healthy, easy and good for the planet and animals. Wining all over 🎉
Dear Rich,... Thank you for this assemblage of so much encouragement and validation for the changes I made in 2016. I recall listening to every single one of these guests while making my porridge at my office desk in the early mornings at the high school. Going plant-based was the best health-related decision I ever made in my 59 years of existence. It helped me dodge a few bullets. I was one of the lucky ones. And sure, it's had its challenges, but the benefits have outweighed anything that was a struggle.

This CD has three separate relaxation/meditation sessions on it ruclips.net/user/postUgkxzpa8CIfZcihW4Z0F_ja0QF3W9KIatrsq guided by a very pleasant and direct male voice. Unlike so many other products of its type, this CD does not have bad synthesizer music, does not feature a phony or affected style of narration, and does not make any bogus claims to be subliminal or to re-train the brain or any of that balderdash. What you get is 1. a guided meditation for getting into a pleasantly relaxed state of body awareness while taking a stroll (superb for those easing back into a fitness routine slowly after an illness or injury) 2. A nice long breath-awareness relaxation session that if followed diligently can put you into very deep states of full-body relaxation and mental calmness, and 3. a buddhist-inspired meditation session designed to help you develop and maintain feelings of loving kindness toward not just yourself and your friends, but toward people you don't even like. The CD makes no claims to be designed for advanced meditators or for buddhists or hindus/yoga practitioners looking for very deep and esoteric stuff. It is geared more toward the average person who just wants to develop the habit of relaxation and stress relief through natural, healthy means. him, if you happen to be reading this, keep up the good work fella, and I love your accent. I would also like to note that I have never fallen asleep while listening to this product. I would like to kindly suggest to the reviewer who said this CD makes him fall asleep, that he might want to get checked to see if he has a sleep disorder, or if he is simply not setting aside ample time for restful sleep at night. A healthy person getting adequate rest at night should be able to go into deep states of mental relaxation without dozing off, if not all the time, then most of the time.

I just want to thank you for putting this together. I think I am in a deep whole regarding my addiction and relation to food patterns. I want to become healthy and this helped me a lot.
I LOVE and appreciate your interviewing style. You prompt the person with great questions and adding limited comments and then allow them to answer with great information. Great video!
Such a gem of a RUclips video. I appreciate the vast array of subject matter here in regards to nutritional health. You sir are making a difference in humanity for the better, and for that I am thankful. Happy Thanksgiving!
Absolutely loved this masterclass!! I've heard most of the individual podcasts already, but this was an amazing collection of some of the most important points 🤓
This Masterclass was the BEST!!! Vegan since 2015, is great to hear from these prophets about all the different aspects of a plant-based diet. There has only been an upside for me, personally, with the exception of other peoples' attitude towards vegans.
Recently adopting a gradual change to plant based diet due to health reasons. My partner was resistant at first for themselves but the more I practiced it myself, cooked the meals, he has started to eat what I eat and has rather started to like it. I think the preconceived notion that plant based was not tasty or enjoyable was a myth.
You are what you eat. Your diet impacts your health. Lower stress, reduce obesity and more exercise are key to a healthy life. Obesity in children and adults is rising across the world. Fast food and sugary drinks are contributing to the problem of poor health and obesity. Eat a healthy plant based diet and exercise regularly. Reduce or ELIMINATE cows milk, eggs, cheese and meat. Eat more salad greens, beans, fruit and vegetables. Eliminate fast food, snacks like cookies, cakes, chips, and sugary drinks and juices. Every adult and child should own a bicycle and ride it regularly. Regular exercise will help you sleep better. Yoga is a great stress reducer. Obesity is all too common today. Get off the couch. Get off the phone, ipad or video game. A variety of stretching and other exercises help with increased mobility. Ride to work, ride to school, ride for fun. Every city should be a bicycle city. Speak up for bicycles in your community
So glad you are on the plant-based road. To do so for your health is a perfectly good reason, but I must say that I began this journey 30 years ago because of ethics. The meat industry is horriffic in it's treatment of other sentient beings. That a vegan diet is also healthy is a bonus.
I started my vegan journey over a year ago. Though I continue to deal with chronic infllammation and vestibular issues, I keep at doing what I can to keep active, adding some supplements that support my health where I was deficient in and that helps with my ongoing health issues. Slowly but surely, these symptoms are becoming less and less. it may not go away completely, but definitely being on a plant-based lifestyle for my foods/nutrition has helped me improve towards a better outcome. When I don't feel like chewing my veggies, I just make'em into yummy smoothies with nut milk or water and add fresh fruit besides kale or spinach - like bananas or blueberries. I'm thriving with plants! Thank you for your vids - being informed and educated is the way to go in helping myself and my family.
Thanks so much this helped me so much going from a vegan of three years who ate excess processed carbs and fats to a clean whole food plant based diet with zero oil and salts and sugars only 3 weeks I’m down 15 lbs and feeling amazing
Hi Rich, thank you for what you do and a very inspiring masterclass. You did an amazing job by spreading a positve culture and encouraging people to become more responsible about their health and general wellness. This is the time of my life where I am turning from skeptical about a plant based diet into being deeply fascinated by how much power we can have on our own lives through diet and lifestyle. I am a 47 yo marathoner with a degree in sports science, now studying food science and human well being at University. Food, exercise and lifestyle are the levers on which our health depends on. Maybe they could be the only medicines we need. In any case, the world would be a much better place if everybody became congnizant and responsible. Peace
Thank you for this, I have been vegetarian for 35 years (I am 46) BUT now I think my future needs me to go PBWF, really fascinating re FMD = fasting mimicking diets - THANK YOU - so very helpful & inspiring :)
I am not a member but I came across your videos and love them and I appreciate the free videos and am considering joining. I decided to start doing the chair workouts due to issues I have been having. By no means are your workouts for seniors or those in wheelchairs. I am extremely impressed with how hard I workout in the chair videos. I am seeing quick results and the thing about exercise is our personal effort. Whether you are creating chair workouts or standing ones isn’t the issue as much as individuals taking responsibility for the effort they put into it. There is a difference between motivating others and our effort in exercising. It’s that saying “you can bring a horse to water but you can’t make them drink.” I love the more challenging chair workouts that combine the chair and standing. In yoga we use props all the time. There are wall workouts - and the wall is just a tool. The chair is a tool. Weights and bands are just tools too. Those that don’t believe chair workouts are challenging enough aren’t challenging themselves enough with effort. In yoga and body weight workouts - our body is a tool. If we can challenge ourselves with a mat, the floor and our body and get an amazing workout. We can with a chair too.
Like you,Rich, I had a health crisis (heart attack and stent) and a very generous dose of heart medications that were so debiiitating that I used as a springboard.. At age 66, I wasn't at all ready to throw in the towel, sit in front of the boob tube and wait for God. I think making the switch is easier if you are faced with such an alternative. For seven years I've been off all of my heart meds and only recently have had to lower my dosage of daily blood pressure meds. Interestingly, most doctors aren't prepared to see their patients get healthy. Thanks for this great video!
Great presentation. I've been lax in my eating for a while, so hearing all of this information at the same time really helps. Any my church fasts from meat, dairy, eggs leading up to Christmas, so this is a good time to tighten up from vegan to whole food plant based.
Rich, thanks for putting together this masterclass! You projecting these messages I believe will help improve lives. This has given me much more motivation to live a healthy life style and try and help others do the same by showing my results. Your awesome, thanks again!
I live in a mixed marriage. How I handle it is that I make lots of vegetable dishes and if he wants to eat meat, he cooks his own meat and eats the vegetables I make. No judgement, no fuss.
Suggest finding some delicious plant based recipes to go with your partner’s meat…he/she might not really like the taste of individual vegetables right now. Over time, they will likely wean off of meat and like the taste of individual veggies better. They would at least cut down on the amount of meat at one time. Lead by example - energy, youthful look, healthy weight and no diseases. Worked for me.
Thanks, Rich! I went vegan almost 7 years ago and used a lot of these full episodes along the way to succeed. Healthier than ever and gaining still! This is such a great compilation of key info✌🌱
Thank you Rich. This should help save some lives. Five years ago, upon learning my wife and I each had some serious Carotid artery blockage, we first switched to Dr Dean Ornish's diet and relaxation plan. Six months later, after reading Dr Greger's "How Not To Die", we changed to a low fat, low sodium, plant-based only diet. Here's what that diet did: Originally, my left Carotid artery was 95% blocked, and my right 60% blocked. Four and a half years later, at my last scan, the radiologist wrote on the report, there was no stenosis on either of my Carotid arteries. My wife had similar results. Yes, our sense of taste adjusted to vegan food nicely. Cheddar cheese used to be my favorite. Six months ago, at a get-together, someone brought a cheese tray. I tasted one small cube of cheddar cheese. It tasted awful - salty, greasy - I could not stand the flavor.
Thank you Rich! Great to hear all my favourite speakers in this podcast. I’m transitioning to a WFPB diet due to health issues & have seen amazing results already. Thanks to wonderful podcasts like yours, my journey has been much easier. Thanks for all you do ❤️

Thanks for the great interview, Rich Roll! I've been enjoying your podcast for a year now and am always discovering something new. I've been vegan for 20 years (way before it was cool!) My choice to be vegan was always an ethical one, so I never felt peer pressure, even when partners or friends or family criticised my choice. Doing it for the sake of the lives of Billions of animals and the environment is an extremely solid fortification against any criticism. And over 20 years my resolve has only grown stronger. My initial motivation was based on very little scientific evidence, but as the research into the devastating impact Animal Agriculture has on the environment and the extreme suffering that animals endure, my original intuition has developed into a more profound and educated resolve. When discussing Veganism with non-Vegans I always try to steer the conversation away from "food" and "diet" (albeit interesting) and gently point out that Veganism isn't just about what one chooses NOT to eat, but what one gains from a life of ethical observation of how we consume and extending an empathetic view to the suffering of ALL living beings. Also, I've never heard an argument against Veganism, and after 20 years I've heard them all, that wasn't self-serving.
Thank you Rich. I am forwarding this to all my loved ones. I have sent them links to all these various docs before but having them all in one place is soooo helpful. Thank you for all you do. Your podcast is the one that goes with me on my daily walks. Thank you. Thank you.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! For all the great information that is summed up in this video. Love your pod cast and all the information you provide ,free of charge, to people interested in changing the way they eat and living a healthier life.
I love these comments. I am so motivated. I have been on and off for ten years and now with my latest lupus flare I want to commit and just make this a lifelong regime and make my life better. Thank you! Discussing being with a partner who eats differently is a good topic. Thank you!
There is so much talk about science here. What about experience? If you're healing, healthy, and/or living your best life on WFPB isn't that enough? If it's something else, you do you. At least we can all agree SAD isn't helping anyone.
I haven’t made the full change to plant-based, but I see that It’s easy to criticise and find reasons not to do something like this. Isn’t this, then, all about what you believe is important for you, your own body and your own health? We all have choices, need to educate ourselves, and then make our own decisions. These can change over time. No one is forcing us. 😊
Wow! So thankful to have this masterclass available to enjoy. You gave us the heavy hitters all in one place. Thank you so much for the amazing interviews! I love hearing the confirmation of all of the benefits of a WFPB lifestyle. Those around us who push back can be exhausting. Thank you for energizing those of us who are benefiting from the wealth and health of a plant based lifestyle❤
I feel like a lot of people are very proud and protective of their bad eating habits and the junk food they eat, and would rather die than let go of what is making them sick.
And some of them do. My husband died of a heart attack 3 years after we divorced at 48 years of age. I'm a nurse. He was a pharmacist. He knew better. He just chose not to do better.
Really needed to hear this. I’ve gotten to the point where I only show up after dinner has been eaten and table cleared of all carcasses, and it’s created a divide within my family. I’ve been plant based too long now that it’s really too much to even sit in a room watching people pull flesh from dead burnt animals, and yet, I still feel such guilt that I’m forcing my beliefs on my family. Oh how I wish they’d just consider a plant based meal just one time. I’ve opened my home for Xmas, so wish me luck. Namaste to you and all my plant based beloved vegan familia. XX
Welcome to the Void where ALL things are possible! I am new to plant based and its a struggle with the family. Went to a birthday celebration where every dishes contained meat, dairy & mass oil. All the 70+ year olds sitting around after dinner comparing strength of cbd they used to manage their inflammation pain. Nearly bit my tongue in half. 🤦🏻♀️😁 Wishing you all the best at your dinner.
Oh I hearyou. Have been invited to a lunch at a local restaurant with old friends. There is nothing there I can eat. Everything will be cooked in seed oils - which I don't eat. The 'vegetarian" offerings look sub-optimal. I think I will eat beforehand then just pick at the food on offer.
@@EricaNernie Just order a big salad with no dressing (bring your own). If anyone questions just say you ate a large breakfast. But usually they use peanut or soy oil. Yuk.
I've found that when I invite friends or family over, I make whole wheat tortillas with mashed black beans, brown rice, guacamole & salsa & a black bean soup with fire roasted tomatoes, it's kind of like Mexican takeout & they are more receptive. Once they realize how great this kind of food tastes without meat or sour cream & cheeses, they're usually very surprised that they really enjoyed it
Great info!!!!!! As a personal trainer, I assist people daily on their fitness goals as far as mobility and function. Most being 50+. When they’re asked about nutrition,,,,, most have the S.A.D. So I’ve made it part of my program to suggest taking in information such as this movie to help them make better food choices. I will share this with them as I believe in the message. TY 🙏
What a great presentation. As a heart patient, entering the word of plant base diet, this was super sharing of knowledge by some of the great brains in the business. Thank you.
I'm 77 eating a plant based diet I feel and think like a 40 yr old I don't have any pain or other problems its worth every sacrifice
People--both vegan and carnivore--often feel younger than they are. A lot has been written on it.
It is just cutting out processed foods, sugar and carbs..

Did you lose any weight? That is my goal I’m not sure if switching to this diet will help.
How much exercise did you do during these 6 months? What kind of exercise or sports?
Going on 5 years plant based. Onset cardiovascular and type two diabetes. Took about 6 weeks to rid the diabetes and here we are 5 years later, I bike upwards of 100 miles a week, run 50 miles a week. I'm 36 and I'm the healthiest I've ever been. Thank you everyone who helped. If you ate plants and told me to eat plants, you f*cking helped me! So I thank all of you for helping me find me! Life is great! Health is wealth!
That’s incredible. Do you only eat whole food? Can u give an example of what u in day in a day? And ty so much for sharing. 💚

Keep strong

Good luck, stay strong.
Good luck!

Deepest condolences on your wife’s passing. Blessings to you.

This video is rich roll assembling the avengers of plant based nutrition. Such a great video.
Dr. Greiger is so amazing!! I wish there were men like him out in the real world.
Hi!! 56 year old female. I just went plant based 5 weeks ago... I want to live a healthy life and live longer and better.... thank you for this ....
This is beautiful barb. The lifestyle grows on you after a while. 🌱
Thank you!
@@freepdfjunkie2193 The meat industry must adhear to humane handling laws, maybe its time to force plant growers to account for the lives they take.
Same, except I watched all the PETA videos.
You’re confusing plant-based and vegan. Super easy when you’re plant-based. Very difficult when you’re vegan.

I know what you mean! I had a horrible relationship with food right before I went vegan 6 years ago. I was so addicted to junk food, and I never would have saw myself become how I am now.
So true! You really notice how sweet or greasy the bad food is.
@@damienroberts934 Right from the American Heart Association:
In general, red meats (such as beef, pork and lamb) have more saturated fat than skinless chicken, fish and plant proteins.
God bless
I wish i could convince people. They all think im nuts. But i will carry on
All you can do is lead by example 😁
who cares about people, do it for you ! ❤
It’s disheartening when people we love don’t believe the benefits but I look at it as survival of the fittest. Sadly, many are aging and dying way faster because of their diet and eventually the plant based eaters will prevail.
I know what you mean! Everyone worries about how much protein I get(or don't get) I'll just carry on too!😊
The sooner you accept that people are not going to change until they are ready (and sometimes they are never ready), the sooner you will stop being concerned about it.
I took a year off being vegan and saw my health decline. I'm back to vegan now and am determined to stick with it this time!
It works!
I cured my chronic fatigue syndrome with a wholefoods plant based diet!
What sorts of things do you eat?
@@Rebelz173 Curries, stirfry, roast veggies, smoothies, wraps, salads, beans, lentils. Mostly I cut out gluten, caffeine, dairy and eggs. It's made all the difference ✌️ Do you have chronic illness?
I’m on week three of 80% whole food plant based and my cholesterol has already dropped by 22%. I’m 44 who had a young ischeamic stroke last year and my cholesterol was high.
@@jdl2962 ok but you can absolutely get all essential nutrients from a vegan diet.
Go vegan for your health, whole food plant based.
Go vegan for the animals.
Go vegan for the planet.
A lower risk of heart disease and cancer for you and a better planet for everyone, human and animals.

@@jdl2962 Just curious, how do you go from being against animal cruelty to not caring at all?
@@annoyingbutmorallyconsistent If you really care about your impact on animals and the planet, sacrifice your life for theirs ❤️
Stellar compilation as always, Rich always downplays his own impact while hosting such talented guests.. but he is right there with them in my opinion. A modern day Paul Revere to send life saving messages to the masses
Thanks for this, Rich! I've eaten whole-food plant-based for fifteen years, and it's always fascinating to hear from the great minds of this practice. Learning more is always fun.
I began a Medical Medium plant based diet 17 months ago. My health has improved so much. I’m 63 and will be vegan for the rest of my life. I have traveled also while vegan. It’s not difficult. I love fruits and veggies 🥕 🥦 🍉 🍎 🍌
Wow! This episode is literally a who’s who of the experts in plant-based nutrition. Thanks.
I have been guided to Rich’s channel and I have gained so much insight into healthy eating and I feel ready to give plant based food a try. It’s going to be a huge challenge for myself and I never have considered this as an option for myself. But I am at my highest weight, I’m dealing with chronic pain. I am past ready to make change in my health. Thank you for sharing these gems ❤
@@MsRonnie, please look into all the anti-nutrients in plant foods like oxalates. Plants aren’t the health foods we’ve all been taught they are. I’ve heard soo many testimonies of the carnivore diet getting people over pain. ❤
Wow, what a genius idea, a masterclass with snippets from so many of the masters themselves, all concisely "Rich Rolled" into one podcast session! Thanks for piecing that together so well! It is informative and powerful and exactly on point! Janet

It's very easy if you don't mind being a fat or unhealthy vegan. However, being a healthy vegan takes more thought and work.
Isn’t it interesting that most cultures have easily veganized foods (if not naturally vegan), yet the American culture is just animal flesh based foods? That’s wild to me. Your list of foods reminded me of this…
I love being vegan, it’s healthy, easy and good for the planet and animals. Wining all over 🎉
nice, thank you!
Great roundup of my favorite PB experts! Thank you Rich and company for compiling this important information.
I loved this class. Trying to start a .wfpb diet at 73 years . I have type 2 diabetes and really want this to work. Watching from Toronto
Go Janice! It will work. Good luck and keep looking on RUclips and other podcasts for support.
I am mostly plant based and feel very healthy. I lost 15 pounds and gave up alcohol two years ago. I walk and play in two golf leagues and walk. My body feels better.
Thank you for the hope you give me, between drinking, smoking and eating too much animal products I had a massive heart attack. WFPb now and 4 days away from my one year chip. Thank you sir for sharing
65 years young, 33+ years whole foods vegan, fit, on no meds, PEDs, TRT and all my parts work. TY Rich! 💪💚🌿
Of course YT chose an ad for carcass-munchers to put before your video. Oy!
Funny, this was recommended underneath the carnivore video I was watching! I used to be WFPB for over a decade. So glad I made the switch.
I'm obsessed with Dr. Greger's passion. It's contagious!
I have been diagnosed with athritis in the spine and hip bone. I have listened to the podcast it is very interesting and informative. I have been on a plant diet for about 6 months, however not fully as i have incorporated chicken and fish in some days. Now i want to try to move to a full plant based diet, hopefully it will reverse hypertension and athritis from my system. Hope it is not too late as im now 59 years of age. Thanks for the encouragement and valuable information shared on this podcast. ❤
Jan 2024 - I have managed to follow the plant based diet, however I'm now struggling with sweets I have tried the dried fruits but they are ridiculously expensive.
I have a sweet tooth. I make ‘nice cream’ using up over ripe bananas mixed with other fruits. Cherries work well. I am sure you will continue to see improvements in your health. Take care.
Went vegan for the animals. And my body thanked me by shedding weight, and making me feel more sharp and focused than ever before.
Wow! Such a great video with segments from nearly all of the renowned plant based experts! Thank you!
This masterclass so thoroughly touched on all the things around plant-based living that I was seeking answers as someone living plant-based for nearly 20 years. Thank you!

This is VERY inspiring and exciting. Today….I am jumping, skating, running and sliding onto this new phase of my life…..I’m going plant based today. Love the information and as I said, I’m truly inspired and excited. Thank you for the information.
Sooooo helpful!! I recently began eating plant-based after watching Dr Esselstyn’s lecture on RUclips. Stopped my high blood pressure meds, have lost 10 lbs and watched glucose fasting levels come down under 100 every am. The cardiologists I deal with are clueless.. to hear that heart disease is the leading cause of death in this profession is sad, and then frightening.
Bottom line, I learned a lot.. and will be sending this podcast out to friends and family - as their Christmas gift 💝!!

GREAT JOB
Another amazing and brilliant compilation, Rich! Thanks so much for all you do to help educate and illuminate our health journey!
Been plant based for 3 years both my children been plant based since 6 months the best decision I’ve ever made
Like you,Rich, I had a health crisis (heart attack and stent) and a very generous dose of heart medications that were so debiiitating that I used as a springboard..

Make delicious sauces…there are tons of recipes on the internet.
You give me ideas!
I actually make his meat on the side , if I make like lentil stew, I just toss some meat in his bowl lol
To short... I could listen to these doctors/scientists all day. Thank you
Thanks! Giving thanks for the Rich Roll podcast and all the fabulous plant guests!! Great compilation!
Dr. Ornish made a good point, we are just eating too much of everything!
Thank you. Thank you.
Wonderful! Glad to see all the experts condensed into one show. Makes motivation easier when it’s all there. Thank you, Rich!
Thank you! Thank you!
@@annemccarron2281 Wow... sorry to hear that.
I find the meat eaters get especially angry about plant based eaters.
Thank you for this video! I'm so sad that I am alone with this in my family. I worry about them while they go have surgeries for cancer. Ugh
It would be great if you could fit Gil Carvalho from Nutrition made simple in a podcast. He's great!
Once they realize how great this kind of food tastes without meat or sour cream & cheeses, they're usually very surprised that they really enjoyed it
@@EricaNernie I just order plate of lightly steamed veg in such plc,s even they can not get that wrong 🙀
Thank you.
