    Congratulations to you and your Mom for completing the Mary's Mini. I would definitely like to hear from your Mom about her experience. As a more mature woman (young 73) I would like to hear from your Mom. How she got started and how she lost 50 lbs and now another 8.5. I too have struggled with weight since my mid 40s when I was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid and then going through menopause. I have tried Weight Watchers, Atkins and keto but being vegetarian I wasn't thrilled with Atkins or Keto. I did have some success with WW but always gained it back once I got tired of counting points. You have been such an inspiration to me with your positive attitude and your delicious recipes. I love your channel and listening to The Exam Room Live also. Such motivation. So thanks again and btw Stash has some awesome Fall and Christmas teas. I especially like the Holiday Chai and Christmas Morning (a blend black teas with jasmine green tea). Sadly they are seasonal so buy a few if you try it and like it. Bye for now.

    Hi, I’m new to the Whole Food, Plant Based way of eating. I lost 112 pounds on a ketogenic diet. I have about 50 pounds more to lose. I’m 64 and I’m going in for quadruple bypass surgery next week. My cardiologist and his team strongly suggests after recovery switching to WFPB. So, I thought I would start with a Mary’s Mini. Potatoes would definitely be my choice as well. I love your video, looking forward to following you! Thank you! ❤

    I googled this and did the math just for fun. 20 lb of potatoes is about 18 lb after you've peeled them. If she ate the bulk of the potatoes, let's say she ate 14 lb. That is 2 lb of potatoes a day which would make you feel very full if not stuffed. 2 lb of boiled white potatoes is 635 calories. Herein lies the magic of potato diets

      Thanks so much! I like to rock a red lip every now and then, and I'm still loving the buzz cut! My mom had an amazing experience with the Mary's Mini; it's given her a great jumpstart to continue on her weight loss journey! 😊

    I did 10 days MMini and lost 6 lbs. Wanted to lose 6 more so I chose Quinoa. I liked potatoes much more so went back to them after a couple of days. I love Mini!

    Great video Meg and it's great to hear about your mum's experience on a plant based diet using the Mary's Mini challenge and hopefully she continues on a vegan whole plant foods diet ( even though I heard you mention that she's vegan which is great to hear) and it would be great to hear about her story/experience in a video and it’s great that you're mum has your support & encouragement.     Yay to beans and fruit again! Do a Dr Gregors Daily Dozen. Would also love a Dr Fuhrman GBOMBS challenge! Keep notes on each challenge so you can review what you like best about each, also what you would personally keep going forward😁

    Thank you, again, for this challenge and letting me “check in.” Funny thing,on day 6 I had forgotten it was for only 7 days, and I was thinking it was 10. Then I realized it was over already and it was easier than I thought (but I was already vegan).

    I sooo want to make the hash browns. They look scrumptious.😋😛
    I was very interested to here about your Mum, we’re the same age, and her results were amazing. I didn’t weigh myself but my clothes don’t feel any different 🤣😂.
    I chose sweet potatoes, I’m addicted to them 🤫🤫. Do you eat mostly white potatoes??

      Thank you! We've been loving the hash browns! I'm still eating them after the challenge. 😋 I asked my Mom if I could share her experience since she had such great and surprising results with the Mary's Mini. I think she'll share more in a blog post as well.
      How did the sweet potato mini go? For the challenge, I ate yellow potatoes, but I love all the potatoes! Sweet potatoes are so delicious! 😍I'm so glad you're loving the channel! Thanks for watching!! 😊❤️

      @@PlantFitMeg Doing the challenge I realised that I’ve been eating potato and vegetables for several weeks now, I just hadn’t really thought about it 🤔🤣.
      But I’ve been eating roasted sweet potatoes and vege. So seeing your different recipes, has encouraged me to make more effort in the kitchen.

      Thank you! This time around I decided to buzz my hair using my clippers without the guard on. (In the past, I have tended to use the shortest guard: # 1 / 1/8" / 3 mm).😊

    It is 10 days for Mary’s Mini. Why did you only do 7? Doesn’t seem it can be called Mary’s mini with a 3 day alteration. Standing by for explanation. Cheers. 🤗♥️🌺

      Hi Rita, The simple answer is that I thought the Mary's Mini would be difficult to follow, and I wanted to do it in a way that worked for me. I also wasn't following it for any kind of "results" beyond the experience of trying it out and doing the challenge alongside my audience for fun. I tend to carve my own path when it comes to rules and guidelines, so 7 days worked well for my purposes. That being said, others doing the challenge with me had different experiences with it and some did the Mary's Mini for 10 days or even longer. I always say do what works for you, so if you're embarking on a Mary's Mini, you can follow it for 10 days as originally outlined by the McDougalls.

    No beans can be added to the rice or potatoes, lentils, for example?

      Yup! For the Mary's Mini Challenge you pick one starch (ex. potatoes, rice, corn, or beans), add veggies and low fat sauces/dressings, with one piece of fruit per day.
