I don’t like to use ketchup because it has “natural flavours” which means it contain MSG and other bad ingredients so what else can I use. If you are going to make natural/at home dressing it should at least be natural.
Patachon Patachon i add MSG to a lot of my foods. It is not bad for you. Yes, people may have certain reactions like with any food but there is no proven research that it is harmful. I made this salad dressing and added MSG yummy!
Ive been making this for 3 years now and it is by far my favorite, thank you
Paprika! That is what I have been missing in my own recipe. Thanks!
French dressing is the only dressing I like, glad I found this. My late wife use to work in school cafeteria she made this for me, remarried since.
My memories of school cafeteria brought me here lmao
I made this, but added fresh garlic. Delicious!
Wow. i couldn't find my mom's recipe and this sounds like hers...thanks.
Thank you.I was sitting around having the taste of french dressing on my mind and light bulb went on that I could make it.Great video.
You are so welcome!
This is a very tasty easy to make recipe. I was making one before that nobody liked. I use 1-2 tsp monk fruit sweetener in place of the sugar.
Thanks for sharing
I made this today and i love it, thank you for doing this video
I've never made homemade french dressing, but I like knowing that it's so easy. Thanks for sharing this recipe, Shelly! :)
Thanks, Sandra!
I agree anything homemade tastes better than store bought.
Thank you. Tastes pretty good. Had to add an extra quarter cup of oil when using olive oil.
Why is that
@@lilmommasilver1209 sorry, i dont recall now. That was two years ago and ive since quit using french dressing altogether. Sorry.
Its ok lol I just realized how long ago it was my bad
@@lilmommasilver1209 no worries. Just wish i could remember for you.
By any chance have you remembered why you added extra oil when using olive oil?
Definitely going to try this! My hubby loves French dressing it's the only dressing he used! Thank you for all the wonderful posts and videos 😊
Definitely will be trying this. Its my all time favorite dressing. Never had it homemade. Yum.🙂
Hope you enjoy
Looks very nice I will make up a smaller batch but I always thought french dressing was oil, acid and Dijon mustard X
Which recipe is correct? The video or the website? Thanx for your help
Thank you for this recipe, it's delicious! ;0)

What kind of OIL r u using? Can I use olive oil?
Thats olive oil right. Anyway looks good thanks for sharing
Yes, it's olive oil, but you can use any oil you prefer.
@@frugalfamilyhome what name brand olive oil do you use please
To make it a tad more healthy I used ketchup without high fructose, Stevia instead of sugar. Everyone loved it.
Thanks, should I use apple cider vinegar or white vinegar? Or does it not even matter?
White I think
You can use either one. I hope that helps.
The type of French dressing the have at the store is more ORANGE colored because they add yellow mustard to the red ketchup/tomato paste.
Instead of onion and garlic powder, may I crush fresh onion and garlic into a paste and whisk it into the mix?
I'm sure that would work great too.
This would be amazing with beetroot 😋😋
No mustard?
Can you type up the list of ingredients etc?Your page link doesn't work.
Hattie, here's the link to the printable recipe. www.frugalfamilyhome.com/food/recipes/easy-delicious-homemade-french-dressing
Thanks!!!!
what KIND of oil do you use?
can you use apple cider vinegar?
I've used olive oil or canola oil. Any oil you like for dressing should work.
That's probably good with chopped garlic too/instead of powder..
👍👍👍👍
a lot of sugar in there...?
you are right....there is already enough sugar in the ketchup
add a little honey
You have a nice voice.

Nothing wrong with msg
MSG 2020!
Msg isn't bad
She should have dissolved the sugar with the spices.
everytime I put paprika I could not eat it. I thought it was mayonnaise and ketchup
I stopped at ketchup and sugar. Not in French dressing. Only in murca, 😂
