I usually buy frozen peas. The front yard is full of wood sorrel, clover, strawberries, and wild geraniums, all flourished as the grass was dying in the heat. I saw some little honey bees pollinating mums today. My mother used to put a few grains of uncooked rice in bottles of things that tended to clump when they get moist.

I really like how you peel the carrot. I have a cheese slicer similar to the device you're using, will have to give it a try. I believe I've read that the most nutritious area of the carrot is the outer part. I do the same thing with that kind of rice! 👍🙂 Many thanks to your daughter for the close ups. My husband is a truck driver, here in USA, delivering produce. I can tell you that what he delivers, that is sold as ' fresh' veg in grocery stores, has been picked, shipped to cold storage and then to another cold storage and then to point of purchase. Sometimes 3 or more months after being picked.
Only, true fresh veg to be had is from one's own garden

Samhain is a favorite time of year for me. I have always loved the celebration and the blessings of the excitement of the energies of harvest in the readying of the coming months, and the appreciation for the diversity of the colors of the environment, the smells, sounds, and the senses are awake in the process of change. It is so very sensual and very comfortable and cozy with the beginning of the cold weather. Layers of clothes and hats are the best way to achieve the best way to get along with the weather. I love this incredibly magical time of the year!

Frozen vegetables are flash frozen within 2 hours here in California. Eating whole foods, nutrient rich foods need NOT be expensive. Sadly, many Americans eat so much processed foods. One of our favorite foods is steamed rice that we roll up in dried nori (seaweed) along with some Spicy Chili Crisp (Chili Oil Sauce).
And we eat in season, which means between fall and spring we are eating a lot of magnificent root vegetables, like turnips, rutabaga, parsnips, potato, cabbage, carrots, beets (including the beet greens, and onions We eat onions and garlic in some meal, daily.
And we love turmeric, cumin, red pepper flakes and Slap Ya Mama All Natural Cajun Seasoning from Louisiana, and their Slap Ya Mama Louisiana Style Cajun Seasoning, Hot Blend, as well as Spicy Chili Crisp (Chili Oil Sauce) which i buy in a 7 ounce jar and then put in a bigger jar and cover with more oil and let sit a month. This way I get twice as much for less money.
Thank you Collette I cooked a similar stir fry, with what I had in the cupboard and fridge, straight after watching you make yours. It was lovely. I didn't know you could put that packet rice in so thanks for that as well. I love all your videos and hope you had a lovely birthday. Take care 🙂 xxx
Your stirfry looks delicious! I can nearly smell it! Perhaps it is because you are cooking with some of my favourite scents! I found out that veggies like garlic and peppers release their protiens after or during cooking.b
