Blessings and Greetings from Daggy,Kiel,Germany☘☘☘
You are so right. Years ago, when you met people who thought you were crazy, now probably envy you. You had a vision and you made it come true. Good for you. You have your own indipendant living and while others now fear that there will be no power or heating and living expenses rise, you can enjoy the fruits of your labor. But it is hard work and perseverance, the love for the land and it`s magic that brought you where you are now. Congratulations Colette. 🙂 Well done.
I live in an old house/cottage in Germany in the Schurwald Forest. My house is going to be 120 years old next year. It needs a lot of care and renovations are an ongoing task. But it will be mine in a few years and payed off. Nothing compares to property that is owned instead of rented. And while I do not have this lavish land to grew food and trees/plants on like you, I still feel lucky. I have a small garden in the front of the house though. I already planted a lilac tree 4 years ago from a small seedling. It is now almost 250cm high. Last year I planted hazelnut and an elder tree. I have made a raised bed for planting herbs out of an old drawer chest, using only the frame, laying downwards and filled it with soil. My rosmary loves it there and also my peppermint and watercress.
That bread looks delicious and the soup as well. I might bake some cookies tomorrow as well. I have been a vegan for 14 years now and I just love it so much. Now it is time for some tea and knitting. Also got a new crafts book today, used, but in excellent condition about stoles and shawls.
Blessings from Rose-Cottage, Germany and stay warm dear friend. 6 more days until winter solstice. It used to be my dad`s birthday. A day I remember even more lovingly.
And rabbits, too… these past few weeks we have 2 rabbits roaming in our backyard. We care for birds & rabbits.👍👍 Great way to spend a freezing cold weather day, Colette. Homemade bread & hot soup. Kitchen curtains are lovely! Blessings. ❤
Collette, you have worked so hard working for Mother earth, now you have your rewards, and thankyou for sharing, thankyou. love what you do!
Thank you so much!
As I watch this, here in New Zealand, it is 28 degrees Celsius & will be hotter tomorrow. But I can appreciate your snug home with the aromas & fragrances of home cooking.
Thank you for the reminder. I purchase Walking Between Worlds and the The Ckttage Guide ti Deep Midwinter. And since it wasn’t the season, I tucked it away on the bookshelf, and there is sat, until now. Going to make a cup of tea and enjoy reading it this evening.
I just love your home. I bet I could spend hours just walking through looking at everything. So eclectic and magical. Stay warm!
Thank you so much!
Hi Colette we have your book Bealtaine Cottage Guide to the Deep Midwinter. Lovely little book. I like the red curtains they look nice. Hugs and love 🌲❤
Colette, this seems to me to be just about a perfect day. The sound of that sewing machine, the beauty of the wintry day, steam rising from your pot of soup, oh what a cozy treat for your utube friends. Thank you dear wise one and blessings of Yule to you and yours.
I love cookery books, I get stuck browsing them for ages - nothing better to keep out the cold than the lovely smell of wonderful things baking in your kitchen. Blessings.
Keep our feathered friends fed during this freeze 🙏
Always!
@@bealtainecottage yes Always ❤
Yes definitely 💕, I feed mine year round. I have suet cakes, wild bird seed mix and peanuts. 💕
I have the different types of bird treats and black sunflower seeds and nut suet too. I also put water outside that is not frozen. Unlike Collette, I don't have a pond or a stream to supply the water to drink.
@@parry3231 I should put something out to catch the rain that is coming, I didn’t think of that. I’ll create another covered spot for them also.
Your bread looks divine. 30 years ago I bought a Panasonic bread machine & it’s still going strong. I make all my own bread, and pizza & dinner rolls dough. Such a joy on a cold winter’s day to put on a hearty stew with a side of homemade bread!
Thank you for taking me on such a lovely visit inside your adorable and cozy cottage.
That loaf of baked bread looks really good!! I wish I could eat some of it 😋 Stay warm dear one.
Blessings ❤
I adore that Cookstove! The bread looks epic! Indeed, I'll keep warm. 👍😎🇨🇦🔥
Dear Collette...Your cottage is a dream. I wish we had done the same
years ago here in the States. Our 40th anniversary is coming up in
March...live in a very nice area of Philadelphia. The steam coming up
from your hot water in front.of your window was so.comforting. Thank
you so much for sharing your very special life. Blessed Be.....Lawrie
In winter the kitchen is the very best place to be. Especially with wonderful things cooking on the stove and engrossed in a task such as sewing.I love the new curtains, they do brighten your kitchen. I must say Collette that you have a very soothing voice. Bright Blessings.
Bless your heart, so warm and cozy. Your one of the smartest people who felt this coming and prepared without knowing . Your my inspiration fellow Scorpio 😉 Blessed Sunday and much love from Kentucky 🙏🏻💞💐🇺🇸
Thank you! You too!
So cold. Our feathered friends are happy when we give them a helping hand. Bread and soup is a wonderful meal.
So lovely to hang out with you in your beautiful cottage, Colette! Thank you! xo
❤❤❤ Beautiful video Colette!
The wonderful culmination was putting your feet up - something I am in the process of including in every day - I had to get the energy knocked out of me yesterday & asked my favourite new question . . . “ what can I learn from this energy lack “
Blessings to you, dear Colette 🙏
you have worked very hard to live the simple life you so enjoy now. Yes, there is work everyday but peace and comfort in the doing. Thank you for sharing even these moments in your day.... I know your soup and bread must smell absolutely delicious. A satisfying meal curled up on the sofa with a good book by your fire!
Another relaxing and peaceful vlog- Thank you, dear friend for sharing your life 🌲
I was so pleased to see your multi tasking Colette …whenever I do that very same thing I can guarantee that some random person will turn up, disturb my peace and find me with stuff all over the place 🙃❗️I love the new red gingham. I also have a passion for making soup.. I went to the supermarket the other evening and came home with a trolley load of‘yellow sticker’ veg, they were turned into various soups by midnight! Unfortunately I don’t have the space to grow all my own veg; times are challenging here currently, ie., eating or heating???😂❤ But my dogs and the birds always get fed.
Your kitchen area looks so cozy and warm. I could actually smell your soup. This is the time of year for soups, stews and homemade breads. Keep warm Colette. Thank you for feeding the birds. Many people do not realize that during winter months there are still birds but not much food.
I often use the Dutch oven to make bread. It makes a lovely crunchy crust! Stay warm! Lovely relaxing video
You're funny today! I'm doing the same thing...feeding the birds, making soup and baking bread. Greetings!
This looked like a perfect winter Sunday! Cozy and productive. I made bread today also, pumpkin bread. The kitchen smells delicious, and it's deliciously warm while the snow falls outside. Thank you for sharing, Colette!
Thank you once again Colette for making and sharing another great video. Snow last night here in the North, beautiful winter mornings and my little Robin friend waiting on his breakfast when I'm letting my hens out. Blessings Colette x
You are so welcome!
Feeding the Birds is Very Important! The Sparrows have been in my front bushes flying onto my porch to eat the dry cat food that I leave out for the 'feral kitties' I take care of. Basically a 'Whole Flock'...LOL...they I 'Swear' Can See Energy and find the Food Very Easily. Thanks for sharing your day and everything. God Bless, a Very Merry Happy Christmas to you and yours and your Cottage. Sherry :)
I love the new curtains; the red is so bright and festive looking in fact the whole cottage looks so cozy. Your bread and soup look delicious too. Blessings to you dear Colette!
Thanks so much! 😊
Nothing like the smell of fresh bread and soup on a cold day! Working on sour dough here.
Sorry meant to reply to you. Think it went to the post below 🙃
Wow, really cozy video. Thank you. I find this time of year very difficult and love watching videos like this to uplift the spirit ❄️

Thanks Colette I wish I could come there and help you!! You remind me of my grandmother who I spent alot of time with when I was young!! She had two hot houses which was my playground and was taught alot from her!! She was truly a good Shepard of the land!! Scots/Irish woman usually never sit idle!! Colette your the best!! Thanks for your service to mother earth!!
Sending blessings to my friend across the pond!!
The loaf of bread looks amazing! 😋
It’s -22 degrees Celsius here in northern British Columbia 🇨🇦 this morning.
It’s snowing lightly. Too cold to do much outside…. perfect for watching videos like yours on RUclips…. with a cup of hot cocoa. 🥰 You’ve inspired me to bake something today… I think I’ll make some sugar cookies. Stay warm. 😊
Love your home so beautiful
Hi Colette, also feeding the birds! Think they're finding it hard to find food now that it's turned do called! Not sure what our fish are upto they still don't seem to be hibernating, still swimming around! My daughter gave me a butternut squash from the garden,so shall be making some wholesome soup tomorrow! Stay safe in the cold weather. Many blessings ❤️
What a happy place you have made for yourself! ❤
Red checks make such cheery kitchen curtains--what I have myself. Mmm, I can almost smell the bread!
I like to bake bread and cookies. I love your recipe, and I try to make it in the Dutch oven, a new experience. I live in a country where we have large periods without rain. Water is a precious good. Your springwell water must be very good. Such a lovely cottage. Blessings.
I smell bread😄. I love your curtains. Thanks for the beautiful moment with you dear Colette.
Stay warm!
Bread looks great, Colette! The curtains as well. Enjoy the cozy fire~sounds like a lovely evening 😊
I was so hoping you would slice the bread so we could see the inside, it looked wonderful.
During the last few years of his life, my husband used to bake all of our bread. It was wonderful. He found an old cast iron Dutch oven down in our basement, cleaned it up and baked in it.
Cosy kitchen cooking ....and the curtains look so cute and cosy too....🙏💖💕💖
Good day Colette. I'm liking the red checkered curtains, they do warm up the kitchen. Winter is a Season when one can find many things to be done in preparation for this wonderful time of the year. . The Christmas Season is just around the corner and I imagine many homes will be bustling to get up decorations inside and out and make those wonderful Christmas recipes. God bless my friend and Merry Christmas. 🎄🙏❤️
The bread looks delicious!
I feel so relaxed and welcome watching your vjdeos. This was the perfect video to have on as I prepared our after meal here in Portland, Oregkn, USA.. I sent out and fed our birds, as well! Thank you for the reminder and your gentle glimpse into your lovely cottzge. It's wonderful!
Yikes! It certainly does looks cold there! Take care and keep warm.
I baked my Christmas cookies last week. Hazel with lemon icing. A wonderful tradition in this time.
the bread looks lovely
I love your bread recipe, so good! Ihave made it several times. Your red curtains look lovely, it's wonderful what a little change like that can rise our spirits on a cold winter day!!
Your cottage home is so very cozy. A wonderful place to spend a cold winter. So glad you feed the birds. We are getting a big snowfall and I must get out and clear a nice feeding place for them to land and eat. Stay warm and cozy.
Love LOVE this video! So cosy 😊

Thank you 😊 💓 always on the cool stuff you do! Have a wonderful week 😊
I make sourdough bread for my Son. He loves it. A few months ago he put half a loaf, supposedly out of the dog's reach, on top of the very high cupboard. 🤣🤣🤣. You can guess the dog had a feast! Don't know how the dog managed it but he did!! Now we tease the dog with 'who ate the sodabread ' 😇😇😁. Just have to love the man and dog 😃
This was quite delightful, Colette! Love the new red curtains … and my did that bread look good! 🎄🎄🤎❤️🎄🎄
Hi Collette, you probably didn't know at the time how very important your lifestyle would serve you in today's world. Wise choices ! May I ask how you pump your water from the spring well into your house ? Thank you and blessings to you and your lovely home.
Gravity…very simple and effective!

Well I'm watching this after the cold snap.... pouring rain here in Devon now and 13 c... . So totally bonkers after the. Freezing snow and ice we had... Anyway I'm enjoying this now with you.. ❄️💫🌟🎅☃️🎄
I’ll bet the homemade bread will be delicious.🍠🥮🌻🌽
Another lovely video Colette,I love how Ireland has free water still ... Water is a basic need ..it is insanity how we here in NZ have to pay for it ...the only good thing is it makes those who don't follow the Way of the Goddess and just the almighty dollar something to ponder ...I have Hope that they will figure out the error of their ways ...thanks again for the smiles...enJOY a snuggly day inside xxx PS I adore Your freestanding Kitchen and would happily potter about in it ...thanks for giving me so many ideas xx
Love your dedicated creative enterprise. It inspires me today as the snow swirls ‘round outside and my spirits rise to the occasion of the coming solstice.
Peaceful,joyful video. Thank you!
I love checked curtains .
God Bless you to dear lady .xx

Thank you for this beautiful allowment, spending a part of your daytime with you. It was such a big joy for me . Blessings to you, Colette 🌳🌻🌈🌍
By the way, I would have loved to watch while you sewing the curtain...I almost waited for that😇.....it is because I try to tell myself that it could be fun, but I never tried, even though I would love to do these things by myself 😉 so meanwhile I try to get Inspiration / motivation by watching . I love your handcrafts, they are really very nice and fit into the surrounding🥰🌍🌈🌻🌳

Hi your bread and soup looks very yummy, Tis will be such a great meal, in winter it's my favorite one. With vegan butter on. It's summer her at the moment in south africa, not much sun , lots of havey storms and rain, so also good for soup day. Thank you for charing, and yes keep feeding the birds, in this cold weather they need some extra feed from gentile lady. Blessings.
How lovely that looks Colette....well done....keep warm...blessings x
Thank you, I will
I have many books with my name on it 😉 to read in winter. The bread 🍞 looks delicious and when I saw your soup I had to go into the kitchen and make one as well 😂🤣 Have a nice cosy evening in your cottage.
Thank you your soup and bread looks lovely x
It was!
I'm coming to your hoose for my supper 😊. Delightful video thanks Collette.
Hi Colette, I just found your YT channel and your cottage is beautiful. I wish I could live there. By the way, I have an Irish parish priest who lives in the USA and he's is from Dublin. Blessing from the USA🥰
This sight 0:15 , and those sunday's. 🥰
Colette il make úr bread x thx for calendar ❤️
I had to laugh! You're just like me, flitting from one project to another, unable to make up your mind💜Nice to have a soul mate in Ireland💚 I can smell that fresh loaf🍞 and the soup was a good choice to go with, just finished making a pot myself today to feed to my daughter and granddaughter who are down with a bad cold. Blessings to you Colette🙏 from Canada
I love the calendar although I must admit it threw me a little when it first arrived because as you say it is in Irish. So I have written my own translations in it and will learn such a lot as we wend through the year. The little snippets of information and the pictures are really wonderful. The bread looks amazing and as I make a lot of soup and often my own bread I think I will try this method. So much less fussy than bothering with loaf tins.
Thanks for sharing!!
I like to make cheese scones to go with home made soup...if I am short of bread...
Your bread looks so scrummy! Your soup looks delicious, and heart warming. Love your red gingham curtains. Keep warm and well Colette. We have sheet ice down here in Devon, and the roads are dangerous for driving and walking. Temperature will only reach 1 degree c today! More snow due tomorrow I think? xxx
My water bill in the U.S. in my town is high. Its 55.00 to 60.00 dollars a month and we don't use that much water.
I have all electric in my home. The bill has doubled it was 453.00 dollars in one month and it wasn't that cold.Food prices has doubled.
Oh, may I ask how cold it is there? (A bit cold here too this morning -18C but then we live by the arctic circle so it is to be expected)
I’m so excited to get my calendar. I just love all your books, your website and content on you tube. Have a lovely holiday season all!
Waiting on your beautiful book a cottage and three acres
Could you tell me if you posted off book yet
