Beautiful clothes Colette, who cares where and when you wear them!! No one's business but your own. As a 71 year old woman, I wear purple!!!! Blessed Be!!!
I am sorry some are so unkind. Always be comfortable, whatever you wear to work, play or visit others. I wear "work" clothes in the garden only because that is what I have. Financially I reserve my "good" clothes for outings. It doesn't matter what apparel we wear in the garden, only that we are in the garden working and enjoying the fruits of our labor.
Mer too. I shop exclusively at second hand shops, for my good clothes, and old t shirts or comfy baggy pants for gardening. It is just too bad that people feel that they MUST pass judgement.
I work from home now since the pandemic and don’t bother with “good clothes” much anymore. I wear my home/work/gardens clothes 99% of the time and have 1-2 outfits for fancier events when needed.
To every man/woman :- his or her own order.I love your bag,it's beautiful, I have a brown one , it help you to put away things.I enjoy your sharing ,thank you.❤️it.
I love how you dismiss your negative critics by calling them "silly". It's perfect to me. Thank you for inspiring me to dress up more even while I am working outside. I too purchase most of my clothing from thrift stores at very very low prices and so can afford to have nice things to wear even while working. It makes me feel good.
I traded in a urban, high stress lifestyle for a bungalow in the mountains. Living a simple life surrounded by nature feeds my sole. I downsized about 50% of my possessions and now work with a casual, capsule wardrobe. Everything matches everything else and I can make hundreds of outfits with only 33 pieces of clothing. Now I buy less but better and they last a long time. I always respect people who are happy with less. Makes life a lot less stressful. Love what you do. Live long and prosper.
I agree with you🎆 !!! I usually do my best to ignore it and try to stay present in the moment and focus on my energy & not get sucked into their negative energy field !!! 🙏🎆 There are a lot of insane people out there these days!! 💜🍁💜
Colette, you are a woman after my own heart. I have 7 thrift stores near me and I frequent them regularly and buy almost everything I need. I often get tops/blouses/sweaters for $1.49 Canadian. Why buy new when you can thrift and reduce, reuse and recycle. I cannot understand why people have to make comments that are not nice. I wonder what is wrong with them? Keep thrifting and having fun, I love it and enjoy the thrill of discovering something new to me. Blessing to you ❤
Take no notice of those people who say such nasty things, I garden in whatever I’m wearing at the time and don’t understand why people have to be so cruel. Blessings to you 😊
I just love that you are so much your own person and feel sorry for anyone who feels the need to heap unnecessary criticism on others. I am unashamedly a wellies girl and can be found out on the allotment in rags to threads but look down and there they are the old wellington boots. Although I have always been thus It has taken me till my 70's to have the confidence to just feel validated as the person I am and it is so liberating. I brought up my whole family out of charity shops and recycled clothes from friends; to the extent that we were fondly known as the Oxfam or Wales! so am loving your finds.
Originally from Co Antrim my mother in law was a true country woman. Grew veggies before it was cool to do so. Baked soda bread, scones etc. Never drove rode on a bicycle and everyone knew it was her. Rip this year. Don't know how I found your channel but glad I did. Loved your items. In the USA now
In these days where the cost of fashion to the environment matters (fast fashion) any mindfulness in the manner in which we clothe ourselves is to be applauded. Literally tonnes of clothing are dumped each year - nothing wrong with the dumped garments, just overtaken by the new fad. I think repurposing/adoping beautiful pre loved pieces is immensely helpful to the planet - we should all be doing similar. Subscribed. As for those making silly comments, ignore the silly, you do you.
Wow! I'm blown away that you got a Gudrun knitted coat for £6! They're £150 to £200 brand new! But so beautifully and well made to last - I've only admired but never owned one myself.
lol "clothes do not maketh the man". I don't own work cloths, and I also love my clarity shop shopping. I do all my garden work in my best, because I brought them to wear so I shell jolly well wear them.....oh yes I've pruned my bushes in prada before now, and I don't give a fluff.... have a wonderful day...
My son is medically fragile and so we homeschool, in my journey searching for the best path of education for him I discovered the Waldorf methods created by Rudolf Steiner. It’s a very beautiful and natural way to school and we always have a nature table. I have a faux hearth and we use the mantle to display various objects we collect from nature. And I change it up for each season. Like the changing of colors here in Vermont it’s a slow and gentle change that mirrors what we see outside.
I don’t usually comment on your videos though for a long time now I have really loved them! But I cannot tell you how much I loved your comment on clothes, work versus dress clothes for this week. Your videos inspire my imagination In so many ways, from how to live more joyfully with the earth, to sharing a mutual love of interesting and beautiful things, simple living and frugal economy! But there was just something special about The idea of of wearing lovely clothes while working in the garden!
We call it thrifting here in US. I find the most beautiful crochet afghans for $3-$4. The work that goes into them it’s hard to believe people just get rid of them. Your finds are treasures love everything! ❤️
I shared with my London friend a few pictures of the front of my home and its garden here in Florida. She wrote back "it is just like an Irish cottage." What a lovely compliment to receive! Immediately l thought of your home. Thank you for the kindred inspiration.
Wonderful mix of garden & thrifting-i frequent the thrift shops-and went to the charity shops when I was in England and Scotland-one of my favorite parts of travel wherever I am. I am a messy, muddy gardener-I get dirt everywhere-digging, weeding, spraying, I often need to hose off before entering my home-so I can understand the idea that nice clothing might not function in my garden-but then I have deep red soil, it must be moistened to pull anything (100 plus degrees bakes weeds in) so mud is real, and with that 100 plus degrees, everyone is dripping with sweat, so I have a new “garden” outfit I wear-it took me 30 years of gardening to figure this out… A rash guard shirt-long sleeves to protect skin from sun and tomato vines Stretchy yoga pants (to accommodate serious movement and crawling in soil and prevents ants on legs) Socks, boots-prevents ants/spider bites Large sun hat/sunglasses An umbrella that has a beach/dirt stand that you can move as you weed/pick to help with shade/heat. Oh, and I wet the rash guard shirt thoroughly before I go out so it can cool me some-and all this with early morning, late evening work sessions-never noon/early afternoon-too hot. So, maybe whomever couldn’t understand you looking so nice is more like a mud-digger like me? Love, love ALL the beautiful outfits you found. Thrifting is definitely where it is at! ❤️
Wow what beautiful treasures you have found. People are so SILLY. They have way to much time on their hands & to little kindness. Have a blessed week my beautiful friend 💖 🌟
Bless you, I love how you buy preloved things. The items you have bought are fabulous. I am 65 years young, and do not care what others think about what I wear, which is pre loved or very old! Such horrible folk who put horrible comments on here. You look so lovely, and your are true to yourself. Bless you. xxx
I know for a fact that Colette dresses the way she wants! In the garden or out on the town, she's got a fantastic fashion sense. People would be wise to mind their own business. LOL!
Dear Dwayne, When you put yourself out there for the public, then ask for COMMENTS, you get them. I suggest YOU mind YOUR own business, and let everyone else have an OPINION without your WISE WORDS OF WISDOM!!!
Love your Nature comments. Here in America so many folks frequent big box hobby stores to buy their seasonal decorations. All of them are made overseas from cheap materials assembled by cheap labor. I’m millions of homes, everything looks alike! It’s like we’ve lost our individuality when it comes to decorating. RUclips videos are filled with the same stuff bought at the same shops. No one seems to gather leaves, acorns, pinecones & whatever to celebrate the harvest. I so love your cottage for its uniqueness, Colette. And please continue dressing up for gardening! Lol
A fellow American here. I agree. I shudder when I see the cheap, mass-produced seasonal decor when there is the real thing right outdoors. I have always, since childhood, come home with pockets bulging with acorns, little stones, leaves, etc and arranged them on tabletops or in an antique printer's tray. I still do but now with my children which makes it all the more special. :)
Thanks for your videos, wonderful ideas that you share about your home and life. Wow! You found some great things! Looks like the swedish piece is a Gudrun Sjoden, if so vintage pieces sell for far more on Etsy or Ebay. In Canada we have plenty of great thrift shops too with all kinds of treasures. You can find great deals in clothes, housewares, jewelry, books, etc. Not for those who wish to follow the latest trends, but great for those who want unique vintage items, believe in recycling, and living an ecclectic creative life. I finally arrived at the same place you are with clothes. The majority came from thrift or charity shops. I dress up everyday for myself. It lifts my mood. Natural fabrics, eccentric and unique artistic or old fashioned designs are a preference with a few classic basics to build on. Of course I save the fancier more fragile pieces for events and wear simpler hardier clothes for gardening, etc. And don't forget to add some jewelry. Et voila one can start one's day with creative spirit.
Ooooh, I love that “Shetland” series, if you haven’t see it you’re in for a treat! That Gundrens coat is so good, and they cost a pretty penny brand new, what a steal! Good wool or cotton is so expensive, I’ve unpicked a couple of thrifted sweaters and re-made them into items that work for me.
I love your style, Colette. I always took my daughter to thrift shops & now that she is on her own, she continues to wear previously loved clothing. I think you're very creative! 🤍🌸🌿
That fire screen is absolutely exquisite! Love your fashion "haul". Gudrun S. has the most beautiful clothing and it's so well made. They have a shop in New York City and I admit to having treated myself to a few purchases when I was in the city visiting my son. But since retiring early I only shop at thrift stores. There's a little shop, run by a church, just around the corner from my house and they sell many clothing items for 25 cents! Blessings to you Collette 🍁🌼🍂🍁🌻
This was a lovely video. I enjoyed the simplicity of your life style and the clothes are beautiful, especially the coat with the designs on it, I would snatch it in a second and wear it, I love it! Thank you so much for your time and talking to us.
Gudren Sjoden is one of my favorites. She is a well known Swedish designer and artist from the 70s and is a lover of nature and folklore. I bet she would love to have cup of tea with you at Bealtaine Cottage.
Such a lovely home and garden just natural and beautiful..the charity shop finds were so good..love the simplicity of everything .and nothing huge expense .living simple is the only way I think ..l so enjoyed this.. thankyou so much Collette 🍁💐🐻
Hi, Colette. Your kind spirit out shines those who are not! Love your "new" clothes and can't wait to see you wearing them and your garden is beautiful.
Bonjour Colette! Back to home sweet home! Beautiful valley with all the light and colors. Why not, gardening with a Coco Chanel, cutting shrubs with a Christian Dior, it's just fabric. Negative people give me nausea. They are equal to themselves.Love the coat with the little bird turquoise, the black velvet veste and the other black with white design. I like your shopping! Have a good week-end Colette with full of Love!xxx
You are a woman after my own heart, like you I buy most of my things from thrift shops, they're marvelous places and your latest haul was fantastic, lovely things for so little money. Ignore the nasty comments, people just love to put a downer on things, they're sad people. I am new to your channel but now I'll be hooked as your Cottage and garden are amazingly beautiful and so homely, your voice so soothing it's just what I need amidst the madness going on in the world.
LOVE THE CHARITY SHOPS FOR MY CLOTHING AND MOST OF MY FURNITURE AND ART. I LOVE THE LIFE YOU ARE LIVING, AND WHY YOU ARE LIVING IT THIS WAY! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE WAY YOU HAVE HUNG THE NEW DUDS ALL OVER TO MAKE IT EASY AND INTERESTING TO SEE THE CLOTHES!
What lovely clothing! The knitted coat with the flowers made my day. Love it! Well done. Be comfortable in your own skin. Enjoy how you adorn your body at home, in the garden, visiting friends, and while working. You are fantastic!
Hi Collette i love your "haul" your fashion sense reflects the artist that you are "funky", as does the garden / woodland and these diaries.....love it
My friend contacted you last Christmas / new year and gifted me two of your books signed : -) , I really enjoyed them, stepping into the world between, remembering the magic of everyday life. I have been ill for many years, physically /mentally but also a spiritual quest. Over the last couple of years I have become awaked to the level of deceit/ horrific acts / etc in the world I have been shocked and upset,...(and at over fifty , growing up in Belfast , thats saying something!!.....They say each sees the world through their own lens and mine has been a somewhat naive one. Your dairies have provided a much needed haven from the world events / stage and the revelations, you have helped me to reconnect with and resonate with my spirit, especially during the times when I have been in great fear (a lot of third chakra stuff for me)....thank you so much. P.S. I love the crunchy stones sound as you walk down the path.......hehe...Blessings back at ya form me and my doggies. A wee question , do you think your son will do a similar blog video dairy??? It would be good to see and perhaps help people, i know of a few people who are buying cottages to DIY and live a simpler life ..they might find it interesting an useful...just a suggestion
Such a calming video. I can watch this over and over. It reaffirms my efforts to live more sustainably! Thank you for sharing such a beautiful and peaceful home!
I loved this video so much !!! I love charity shops too. All my clothes are from charity shops. I love a good rummage in the shops and never come out empty handed. !! I LOVE your pink dressing gown and your wool coat. Gorgeous!! I adapt some of my clothes with new buttons etc, bought from the charity shops too. I'm doing a little nature table too. I do one for each season. This one is my favourite. It was an absolute joy to look at your charity shop 'haul'.. I love doing that, guess how much I payed for this?.. go on guess... .... that always happens when you buy from a charity shop!.. Love it!!! Love your video.. 💕
My dear Collette, how I love your sense of humor.i am sure your grandma would be mighty proud of your wit!! Love the work clothes comment.! What a grand haul you came back with. Just yesterday I went to my local thrift shop and found a stained glass piece for 20.00 .they also had another one . I asked how much and she said 350.00!! Good grief, I didn't get it obviously and I am sure it will stay there for that price. It looked like a large window pane with a tulip 🌷 on it. Too rich for my blood, lol 😆 you are going to look marvelous in your new clothes. Have a blessed day❤
That is the most ridiculous comment I've ever heard. I've been (happily) watching your channel for maybe about a year and I've never thought those things! And btw your clothes will look so gorgeous on you. And yes, perfect morning indeed!
Welcome back! I loved seeing your new-to-you treasures. I really like the Swedish Gudrun S. sweater also. Recently a neighbour who was moving/downsizing gifted me a beautiful woollen sweater that was made for her during her visit to Ireland. I’m wearing it daily. Thank you for lovely visit🍁🐇
Hi Colette, you really do have wonderful charity shops in your neck of the woods. Your finds are lovely & unique. I enjoy visiting your beautiful cozy cottage, I feel blessed to have found your channel. I love watching your woodland, garden flourish & change from season to season. Blessings to you from Southern California. 😊❣
What a lovely, calming, peaceful home you have made. Your garden is beautiful. I live in the States and simply enjoy seeing how you live. Your clothes are so nice that you got. Why anyone chooses make negative comments on how someone dresses I will never understand. I am 70 years young and have learned to wear what makes me happy and comfortable. Anyone who doesnt like does not have to look at me ! 😊. You have a soothing voice, I could listen to you all day ! Take care, enjoy your life 😊
I love your sweet porch and overhang area - so pretty and inviting! I see your cottage as cozy, comfortable, as well as beautiful. I love how you decorate with art and natural materials you have gathered. Living simply can be beautiful and fulfilling as well. I enjoyed seeing your cottage and life.
Dear Colette,I love your new Clothes............and the nicknacks..............Blessings and Greetings from Daggy,Kiel Germany ☘☘☘.......I had no chance for buying a Goddess but I formed one of my own from airdrying clay.............then I painted it and will send you a foto, but I dont know how
I just came across your video/channel and loved your content. I too love gardening and shopping at thrift stores. Loved your garden keep up the good work. Please don’t give any time or energy to those who leave negative comments.
I love love the knitted coat and silk dressing gown, I’d wear the other things as well apart from the boots, I can never seem to “fit” into footwear that anyone else has “shaped” it always feels so strange but there’s nothing wrong with buying from charity shops. Great idea in regard to the nature table. My granddaughter (age 3) has just started in nursery school and I’m so happy her parents have chosen this particular school as it has a “forest classroom” where one day (the full day) they are outdoors learning about nature, she’s only been attending for three weeks and is learning so much already. Blessings to all x
No need to apologize, wear what you want! Those commenters don't pay your bills, etc. They need to mind their own business! I enjoy your videos. Like what you have done to your property, its like a breath of fresh air. So calming.
You have the lovliest taste in clothes Colette! Both your home and your clothes express great individuality and creativity. What are we here for if not to be the fullest expression of our unique selves and to share that with each other. Thank you for sharing.
The only garments that I buy new are my under things. I'm planning to shop at some of our local charity shops and consignment shops later this week (after my doctor's appointment). Thank you for buying from charity shops and helping others. When I stop wearing some of my outer garments, and they are still nice and reusable, I donate them back to charity. I have plenty of old garments for grubby work. Thank you for the short visit to your lovely, country home. It is very beautiful and looks so comfortable. "God help those who help themselves." You are helping others while helping yourself. My parents taught me to make do with what I can afford. I know some rich people who shop at charity shops. They did not become rich by wasting their resources. I'm so sorry that people have been so rude to you.
I love your home, your outdoor space is really beautiful too. You are a lovely lady and I enjoy your videos. I like that you buy your things in secondhand stores. Giving life to used items is wonderful.
You found some wonderful cloths Colette. I too enjoy shopping at thrift stores and recycling clothing. You seem to have a casual elegance. You look lovely. Just take those silly comments with a grain of salt. Thanks for inviting us into your daily life. Until the next time, take care.
All so cozy and welcoming, totally my style zone, thanks for share, lovely video. Fabulous thrift finds too. OMG Gudrun Swedish coat, total sustainable company, the best.
I would love to find such beautiful and charming items in our second hand shops here in the states. Such beautiful things, and a benefit to others. Such a blessing.
What lovely cloths and treasures you gathered to your comfy cottage My husband and I live in Northern Ontario Canada but my roots are from Canterbury Kent Love love love England and discovered when we were there for two months in 2010 the second hand shops are absolutely amazing Never been to better ones anywhere else at home or in other parts of the world Enjoy your trips away and keep finding wonderful things
Oh so many beautiful items of clothing!! I fell in love with the orangish long cardigan/dress!! I usually get hand me downs from my cousin. She stops for me to "shop" from her car on the way to the charity store to drop off items! I love what we call Thrift stores here in the USA. So many finds of all kinds. I don't think I have bought clothing for many years! Brightest blessings!!
Dearest Colette I just adore your videos and you!🥰 Nice haul! You always look put together and lovely. Please model your cute outfits. Your grounds and cottage are looking spectacular as always. Thank you for sharing your life and home with us😊 Blessings💕🙏
Beautiful clothes Colette, who cares where and when you wear them!! No one's business but your own. As a 71 year old woman, I wear purple!!!! Blessed Be!!!
Unkind, rude, uncalled for comments are worth nothing!
I found this video very soothing and full of ideas. Thank you!
Your home is peaceful and so is your voice. I absolutely love where you live. ❤️

I love hearing this! Its nice to know I am not alone and there are so many of us.
Yes!! I love it! You are not alone! I feel so at hone here knowing others are the same as me.
I love how you dismiss your negative critics by calling them "silly". It's perfect to me. Thank you for inspiring me to dress up more even while I am working outside. When people say unkind things, the best thing we can ask them is *are you ok?* They are obviously not happy people. Beautiful channel ❤️❤️
Whenever someone is unkind or rude toward me...I would, usually, say, I'm sorry you're having a bad day and I hope you feel better.
I agree with you🎆 !!! I usually do my best to ignore it and try to stay present in the moment and focus on my energy & not get sucked into their negative energy field !!! 🙏🎆 There are a lot of insane people out there these days!! 💜🍁💜

You have beautiful taste in clothing. Such wonderful finds. I too love to charity shop. Have a lovely week.

A rash guard shirt-long sleeves to protect skin from sun and tomato vines
Stretchy yoga pants (to accommodate serious movement and crawling in soil and prevents ants on legs)
Socks, boots-prevents ants/spider bites
Large sun hat/sunglasses
An umbrella that has a beach/dirt stand that you can move as you weed/pick to help with shade/heat.

Those clothes are so pretty and unique, like you. I’m glad to think of you having fun shopping and dressing up.
I am so glad I found your channel, I enjoyed your charity shop haul. You bought very lovey items. I also love thrifty shopping.
It’s beautiful there. Love to thrift you find such gems. I love your way of life
I like your video 📸 and your calm voice... happy to found your vlogs and thank you, woman.
Love everything you bought!!!! Enjoy Tree of life movie, it is just wonderful !!!! BLESSINGS
You have a lovely curated artful home, what matters it reflects you and the things you love, thank you for sharing xx
Such a lovely home and garden just natural and beautiful..the charity shop finds were so good..love the simplicity of everything .and nothing huge expense
.living simple is the only way I think ..l so enjoyed this.. thankyou so much Collette 🍁💐🐻
'The Boat That Rocked' is so much fun!
Love the jacket you got with the colors and leaves it's beautiful, nice finds... Keep being positive no matter the negative
Such terrific buys. You certainly know how to stretch your money. Glad you enjoyed your trip. You have a good crop of grapes on your vines.
Hi, Colette. Your kind spirit out shines those who are not! Love your "new" clothes and can't wait to see you wearing them and your garden is beautiful.
Love your explanation to the SILLY comment
Bonjour Colette! Back to home sweet home! Beautiful valley with all the light and colors. Why not, gardening with a Coco Chanel, cutting shrubs with a Christian Dior, it's just fabric. Negative people give me nausea. They are equal to themselves.Love the coat with the little bird turquoise, the black velvet veste and the other black with white design. I like your shopping! Have a good week-end Colette with full of Love!xxx
Lovely cottage. Great charity shop finds. Very soothing and relaxing voice.
Enjoy your weekend, Colette. Lovely items & clothes! Shetland is 1 of my favorite series. Blessings!! 👍👍❤❤
Love your haul from the charity shops. What great items you have picked up! Recycling at its best.
Colette, I love the rust colored top and jacket, great buys. Thank you also for a most enjoyable morning!!!!
It’s so comforting to see you at Bealtaine Cottage. I like the way you dress and all of your mellow atmosphere ❤
I don't have work clothes either. I just have clothes I like, which I wear as and when I like.
Oh my lord you have amazing taste Collette and your knitted coat is stunning well may you wear.
Have a blessed day❤
Everything about this video was absolutely lovely ☺️
Thank you for sharing a walk through your home and garden. And your clothing haul. Lovely garments. Enjoy your day.
That is the most ridiculous comment I've ever heard. I've been (happily) watching your channel for maybe about a year and I've never thought those things! And btw your clothes will look so gorgeous on you. And yes, perfect morning indeed!
Your videos are beautiful. It feels like a safe place just watching them x
Absolutely beautiful, lovely, and peaceful. Thank you.
Enjoy your beautiful environment and possessions. Joy is often found in the small things that come free.
Dear Colette,I love your new Clothes............and the nicknacks..............Blessings and Greetings from Daggy,Kiel Germany
☘☘☘.......I had no chance for buying a Goddess but I formed one of my own from airdrying clay.............then I painted it and will send you a foto, but I dont know how
I just came across your video/channel and loved your content.
Lovely video, Collette. You found some wonderful bargains on your trip. Bargains are always such a joy! Blessings. 😊💖🦋🕊
I'm so sorry that people have been so rude to you.
love this take on charity shops. You ware what you want, when you want. cheers!
Wonderful clothing bargains. The pink gown is stunning. I love the Irish charity shops. Well done
Thank you for sharing your beautiful clothing buys, I just love the way you displayed them as well. 🇨🇦
I would love to find such beautiful and charming items in our second hand shops here in the states. Such beautiful things, and a benefit to others. Such a blessing.
What lovely cloths and treasures you gathered to your comfy cottage
My husband and I live in Northern Ontario Canada but my roots are from Canterbury Kent
Love love love England and discovered when we were there for two months in 2010 the second hand shops are absolutely amazing
Never been to better ones anywhere else at home or in other parts of the world
Enjoy your trips away and keep finding wonderful things
Oh so many beautiful items of clothing!! I fell in love with the orangish long cardigan/dress!! I usually get hand me downs from my cousin. She stops for me to "shop" from her car on the way to the charity store to drop off items! I love what we call Thrift stores here in the USA. So many finds of all kinds. I don't think I have bought clothing for many years! Brightest blessings!!
Hi Colette well done finding your lovely clothes the coat just gorgeous its expensive make enjoy the weekend love to you xxx
So gracious of you to describe their comments as "silly". Just another demonstration of your fine character!
Dearest Colette I just adore your videos and you!🥰 Nice haul! You always look put together and lovely. Please model your cute outfits. Your grounds and cottage are looking spectacular as always. Thank you for sharing your life and home with us😊 Blessings💕🙏
