Just do what everyone does now days. Just don’t give a fuck and drive any way. That’s what I see daily
Cop car literally tailgated me with my left tail light and brake light not working( unbeknownst to me) I didn't get pulled over for a warning or ticket. I'm keeping my car off the road though until I get it fixed.
@@hearditfirst8010Same here bro got a warning
@@SinDaGamer I didn't even get a warning in the deep late night at that.
@@hearditfirst8010 I say it get fixed because these cops would pull you over I’m telling y by experience, luckily it was 2 cool policemen that let me go
Legit me rn I can’t fine the issue brake pedal switch ?…
Soon there will be no more bulbs to replace just a 900 dollar tail light to replace lol 🤣
At the time I was working at Mazda the cx5 headlamp assembly were $2400 for the pair. When they start flickering or when body shops call in for headlamp assembly to repair vehicles also were like wtf why are they so expensive.
@@theoffroadingmechanic This illustrates how the car companies aren't so much into selling cars as they are in creating captive customers for proprietary spare parts. They sell the car at little or no profit, then get you on the parts. Just ask any BMW owner...
My bmw rear light is led and one of them is starting to get really dim. It’s $1500 for 1 replacement rear light from the dealer and that price is if I install it myself. I also needed to replace 1 of my front headlights and that was $2000.
@@theoffroadingmechanic Hello , I need help , I fix my own stuff but this has me beat , 98 Mitsubishi pajero / montero lwb gls , I have no top brake light and no rear wiper , i have turn signals , bottom brake lights work , I have tested the bulbs and the cluster and fuses , I hit a huge pot hole smelled some plastic burn, lost my alternator the
A/T light battery light came on was down to 9v I replaced with new one thats all good but I can't find why brake and rear wiper won't work , is there a relay or something obvious or secret im missing ? any ideas? Would massively appreciate any wisdom I'm not usually one to ask but I have to admit I can't work it out .
Your definitely going to need a wiring diagram if you can find one for it. Just so you know where the location of power grounds and connector locations to check where your losing power or ground. Not 100% sure for a 98 but usually the high mount circuit would be a separate circuit from your left and right brake lights for safety reasons. And if your high mount and rear wipers are on a hatch maybe check the flexible joint as it is a potential failure point from movement. Or if your high mount and rear wiper share the same ground and it might just be corrosion for poor grounds. Sorry I couldn't be of more help but that's what I usually stick with when finding electrical issues. Power, grounds and test points.
I noted that when my 96 Honda Accord got a burnt out brake light, I found that the original bulb was a Stanley brand OEM bulb. It lasted over ten years. Every replacement bulb from GE or Sylvania hasn't lasted more than 18 months. When the car was 25 years old, I finally replaced all three bulbs with LED. The right side bulb was still the original Stanley OEM.
I d k. My sylvania bulb on 5 years no isses.
You’re a life saver. Replaced the bulb and wallahh!!! Lights up when I press brake pedal now thank you so much!!!!!
This is exactly what problem I am having too!!! My brake light doesn’t fully light up but my tail light works!!! I’m a Chevy person but the 2019 chevys suck! Thanks for the video you saved me a ticket because I honestly thought it was going to be something electrical.
I drive'm till both fillys are out, haha! 😉
I’ve just know found out that the electrical pin connectors inside the socket come loose and cause the brake lights to not work but the talights do! I first checked fuses, brake light switch and when I took the brake light bulbs out the electrical pin just came right out. I installed it back into the socket and the brake lights started to work.
Hoping this my problem
People are so stupid and lazy nowadays, never even having the desire to fix the simplest of issues. Not just on vehicles either, but life in-general.
Yep,,just laziness. Rather throw dollars at someone to fix minor issues like a damn wiper blade replacement!!🤦🏾♂️
Well I went to change the light on my car thinking “oh that’s easy” It ended up in the shop and 150 bucks because whomever put the headlamp in there, put in something that you just couldn’t get to the bulb. I had to remove bumper and etc. just to get the thing out (which even then I could not reach the bulb) and it ended up in the shop, so it’s not just that people are lazy I literally tried for like a whole day.
So not everybody’s lazy when it comes to lightbulbs
I ended up replacing the headlamps which was even more money, but I bet the shop was happy
It’s regular maintenance for the most part. Rarely is it an electrical problem. The good part is the fix is super easy on most cars. Unless it’s a fancy unit that has sensors and what not. Realize a broken head/tail lamp on most cars is like $50-100 bucks new. For a Ford Raptor with sensors, they go for about $700-900 per taillight new.
Well if all 3 bulbs are burnt out..must be a problem..
Why is it blowing!?!?!
I found this out with my aunt's Chevy Trax, yet I had spare ones with me (I misinterpered to her that I thought it was a bad ground. Turns out it was just the bulbs. Duh!).
I put all LED's in 10 years ago, I've had 1 sidemarker go bad.
So many ppl on the road driving with no brake lights or tail lights!!!
One of my biggest pet peeves!!!
My gf just got a 2011 sonata and the tail light works when not in contact with anything and just hanging from the connector but once it goes in the tail light it doesn’t work. How do you fix this
It's Soo annoying to explain dual filiment bulbs, they never understand one hulb has two functions
Oh I feel for those with led tail lights!!!!
Why is that
Thems the type if people who use blinker fluid
I have the opposite problem. My brake lights work but my tail lights do not. Do you know what’s going on there? 👀
I need to find out how to fix a short in the brake lights.
Seen this immediately after replacing every bulb in and around my car. Also if one goes the other I'd going to soon follow.
My exes dad would get so pissed off if something were to go out on the vehicle and he was a wealthy person but I guess he thinks everything supposed to last a lifetime
When I was younger my dad would tell me that nothing last forever. He's about to retire as a mechanic soon.
What about light bulbs are new and half my break lights don’t work and my dome and cargo light won’t work and some previous owner cut the glove box light wires on 1994 k1500
can all of the bulbs burn out all at once? I was told my back up lights don't work
Either the place you get your car serviced don't check your lights and they burn out one at a time without you knowing
Could also be the brake light switch if you're unlucky.
What if my break light works but my tail light doesn't.

I changed the bulbs still don’t come on anyone have a clue?
Powers and grounds see which one you are missing and where you start losing it. Test light will be your best friend. Don't forget to check fuses.
@@theoffroadingmechanic Powers do you mean the connectors? Where is the ground for the brake light harness?
Doh!
What if the 3rd top brake light is out too!!!? Like ALL braking lights are out!! That's weird..🤔🤔🤔
I got this too
@@1StockAssQ it's the brake light switch.. check the stop light fuse first. In the fuse box under the hood. If that is good, change the brake light switch... that's if ALL OF YOUR BRAKE LIGHTS ARE NOT WORKING...
Yea check your fuse the highmount will usually be a separate circuit then the left and right and a separate ground kind of a safety thing in case something happens with one circuit but they both operate by the same brake switch.
@@theoffroadingmechanic I fixed mine like 2 weeks ago. 10 min job. Replaced the brake light switch.. easy work..
My 2013 Versa is the opposite. Brake lights work but tail lights don’t. Changed bulbs and fuses. Any suggestions?
With a wiring diagram check where your losing power and if you have a good ground.
I have the same issue my brake lights work and back same light won't come on. Keep blowing a fuse. I'm gonna pull all the bulbs, replace and check sockets for moisture, ect
My jeep brake lights work until I turn on my headlights and the brake lights go out, also my high beams stop working around the same time, do you have any tips?
Your going to be looking for a short between you taillight circuit and your brake light circuit. One of those circuit is going to be canceling each other out. Start by checking the bulb there is a chance that the filament in the bulb has gone and touched each other. Or if you wheel your Jeep often look for a wiring diagram with your headlight and taillight circuit to see where they intersect.
I put a tail light/ brake light bulb in 2015 Kia Sorento now the brake light stays on. Before my tail light was out, but my brake light worked. RUclips hadn’t helped me much
I need to pull my bumper off to change front lights, ive dont it a bunch but its still kind of annoying, taillights are just two bolts and pull really hard, so thats nice
nissan?

I just changed my bulbs on a 89 ranger and my bulbs keep popping along with the fuse. Any advice?
Were they popping fuses prior to the bulbs getting changed or did it start happening after you put the bulbs in? Are they the correct bulbs?
@@theoffroadingmechanic it had never happened before, it happened for the first tine 3 days ago, at first it was the left bulb, replaced that along with the fuse. Then the right bulb ,replaced that along with the blown fuse, now the bulbs are good, I checked them and my hazard lights work but continues to blow the fuse. Yes I got the correct replacement bulbs.
@@theoffroadingmechanic no break lights or running lights, or dash cluster when the fuse blows.
Does your ranger have any aftermarket trailer hitch wiring? Does it do it right away or intermittent? Possibly an intermittent short drawing to much current
@@theoffroadingmechanic not that I know of, it does have trailer hitch wiring but not sure if it's aftermarket, I've had the truck for 4 years. It does it like like seconds after turning on the headlights. Thank you for your help
Just try changing bulbs in a European car. You'd have to program the computer to let it know you made the change.
Is it an F150?
Nah just a civic
Change bulbs in my car? 🤔 how do you do that? This guy probably doesn't change bulbs at home either.
I bet he assumed the brake pedal activated some type of dimmer switch since he was ignorant of the fact that it was a double filament bulb. That's my theory.
Swap 'em for LED's...Better & Brighter Light.
Usually have to change the wiring and assemlby tho because flcikering and other shit
7006 lol
My tail lights are LED and the right sifr doesnt show me braking how can I fix that
Get a wiring diagram see which wires are your power when brakes applied and which one is your ground. See which one your are missing if you have both your probably looking at some bad LED
Make sure led bulb is plugged in properly, current only flows 1 way, polarity specific
I see this all the time. Try turning the bulb over 180' and plug it back in.
It's not as easy as that, they're all dead, most likely something else is wrong, incandecent lights are like fuses, they could just die of age but they can also be a sign of something not being right.
I found 10 bulbs in the center brake light all dead, changed all of them at once, they died two days later, all of them.
Or the quick lube place that this customer has been taking it to never checks his lights. Or the complaint would be I just had my brake lights replaced and they're burnt out again.
They are obviously burnt out. What are the darker spots?
Must of been covid
For that customer, I would slap a sylvania zevo 7443R and 7440R, and get some alla lighting resistor plug and play version.
7443.
Lame
Ur lame
Why is it blowing!?!?!
Quick lube places don't check your lights.
