Were the tail lights not working, but the reverse lights, brake lights, turn signals, and license plate lights all fine? Because that's what happened to me.
@@dereekk__3112if fuses are good it’s probably the bulbs. There are two filaments in each bulb. One lights up for running lights, both light up for brake lights. In my case the running light filaments were burnt out but the brake light filaments were good. In your case it may be the brake opposite. Try looking closely at the bulbs and see if you can find both intact or if one is burnt out.

Try the relay 4 the parking lights under the hood. I shorted mine with a multimeter across the resistor and it clicked then my taillights started working again. Quick and EZ

I just bought a 2004.5 Chevy 2500hd duramax and I’m having trouble with my driver side rear running light. Brake light, turn signal, and reverse lights all work bud for some reason my running light won’t come on. I just bought a harness for $30 and hopefully that fixes it. FYI all you need to do is remove the screw on the right and the whole thing comes out, remove the electrical wires then remove the board by prying on the left side tab and then sliding it out

I take it if all of my taillight bulbs do not work, this is the part to replace? My Left taillight all three bulbs do not light up, but the brake light does only on one of the dual filament bulbs. My right taillight only one dual filament bulb works for taillight and brake light. Both small side lights single filament bulbs do not light up. That would make sense to replace the circuit board you replaced in this video.
I just found your video, I've been having trouble with my brake lights also. Replaced fuses and the brake pedal switch, taillight housing ( I bought her used; someone put after market LEDs on it). Well, I found my junction block in good shape, just full of dirt... Brushed it out, but still had trouble. Went back to the brake switch, because I realized when I took it off, it was positioned a particular way. So I adjusted it, and the brake lights worked, but wouldn't shut off. After watching another video, (sorry, but I wanted to cover all the bases), I took apart both new and old switch and found the new switch pins in the wrong order. So after an hour or so of tryin to get them set right, I finally got the switch back in and the brake lights, as well as all other lights, working properly again. Thanks for your video, fixing cars yourself is always a process, just takes patience.
I have an 05 Silverado 1500 and there seems to be a short in the left brake light. So I have the brake pedal pushed in so the brake lights are on and I keep taking the bulb in and out and every once in a while the brake light will turn on and stay on. But every time I go somewhere and test to see if the left brake light is still working and it's not. So i pull the bulb in and out until it turns back on.
My problem is that my left tailight and license plate light don't turn on. My right side works. I've changed the circuit board, lights, and left/right harness. Checked fuses and nothing. Wondering if it's the harness that come from the front to the back that gives it power.

Check your wiring The wiring goes to the rear end of truck on drivers side. Then it goes into a T connector and runs from the drivers rear across underneath bed behind the bumper over to the passenger side and up to the taillights.

@@jltaco85 yup a stupid fuse. I had checked them before but I guess I didn’t check the right one cause I went back and checked them all with a test light and sure enough a fuse was broken. Replaced it and my taillights have been working great ever since

01 Silverado original owner 387k miles. Recently, no power to rear lights connector but trailer lights work. I’ve checked fuses, ground at rear end, and replaced this board. With test light , I have no power to the connector. Replaced the turn signal multifunction switch too. Any other advise before I take it to a shop? Thanks!
Its under the truck, its under the bed in the rear of the truck sometimes its on the crossmember going across the frame, and sometimes its on the inside of the frame rail on the driver's side back of the truck under the bed
Follow the brake wires under the truck from both sides forward until they end at this distribution block (my deffinition) of what the part is. You have to get on the ground or lift the truck to find it
That circuit board will come out a lot easier if you use the slots in it. You only move it halfway across and pull straight out.
The bolts were rusted so bad we're afraid they were going to break off trying to remove them

Under the hood there’s a fuse for your running lights. There is 2 of them. One for the left and another for the right.

Spray pb blaster around the old board. When you it it to the left, be sure to only knock it to the tab holds. It comes off with ease
You can take the metal bracket off prior to removing the junction.
Live in the south u will need new bolts and a cutting touch tried it

Having trouble with tail lights on a 2010 Silverado . The top light on the driver side won’t stay lite up. But the signal well blink .
Check your ground for that side each side has its own ground

The ground wire above the spare tire mount broke, that caused my taillight problem.
I have an 05 Silverado 1500 and there seems to be a short in the left brake light. So I have the brake pedal pushed in so the brake lights are on and I keep taking the bulb in and out and every once in a while the brake light will turn on and stay on.
But every time I go somewhere and test to see if the left brake light is still working and it's not. So i pull the bulb in and out until it turns back on.
My problem is that my left tailight and license plate light don't turn on. My right side works. I've changed the circuit board, lights, and left/right harness. Checked fuses and nothing. Wondering if it's the harness that come from the front to the back that gives it power.

It's a double filament bulb, and one of the filaments on the bulb is burnt out, so taillights work but not brake light on that side
So, using a wrench on that bolt was out of the question?

With a 10mm socket you could have had that out in 30 seconds
