I'm an old man who grew up with a hybrid American/Japanese upbringing. I know a good bit about Japanese culture. When Toriyama died, the people who worked the closest with him lost their Master, the one who not only created the universe they contributed to, but inspired them. They are grieving and probably feel a bit lost. Take the commercialism out of the equation for a minute. They're hurting. I imagine that Toyotarou is feeling the weight of the world on him right now. So I hope the Dragon Ball Fandom will relax and give these people the time they need. I know they will try to the best of their ability to honor Toriyama's legacy.

I just wish they would of skipped the superhero arc, since we had a movie and did black frieza. That way the story would of concluded. That said it's so sad that he passed. He was the first celebrity since Robin Williams that I teared up.

Given that Toriyama has sadly passed away, I'm sure Toei and everyone behind the scenes will want to adapt the rest of Super and any remaining stories created by Toriyama. He had a hand in the Moro and Granolah arcs, so they'll get adapted eventually I'm sure
@@po72644 They’re either gonna go their own way with Super, adapt the manga or adapt the manga but make some severe alterations, because Toyotaro has produced the worst Dragon Ball content I’ve seen yet and it was already an almost entirely different story to begin with, compared to the anime. Until Toyotaro got passed the ToP, he was adapting the anime and films instead of the anime traditionally adapting the manga. I wouldn’t put it past anyone at Toei to decide to do their own thing or make changes for several various reasons.

They should just have the next chapter show that Goku has started training Pan, and that Freiza is planning on killing everyone as soon as he finds out where Beerus' planet is. Then next chapter be just before the end of Z episodes/chapters, with Frieza having zeroed in on Beerus's planet. Next episode show a quick summary of the End of Z, with a bit more with Uub, then have Whis show up or call Bulma demanding that everyone powerful get to Beerus's immediately, them get their ASAP only to find that Freiza has just killed Beerus. Then have the next couple chapters of them doing their best to try to survive to no avail, and end the entire series with Zeno and the Grand Priest mourning over the loss of Universe 6 as Zeno erases it all. End it all since Toriyama is gone. Then if they want to continue things, they can pull something outta their butts and start a new series continuing on as they please. It would give those who don't want someone other than Toriyama writing Dragon Ball an ending, and give those who want more regardless who makes it from here on out both what they want/deserve.
Does Toei hate dragon ball IP for not marketing it has they should be marketing ? its not like Daima isn't gonna be the 40th anniversary of the series and they seem to be treating it like the anime is coming back. I would have expected by now, more analysis on the story of Daima and more reveals of the characters since its gonna be anime that i am sure will put some meat and potatoes on a community that spend last getting bread crumbs for a manga rettelling that everyone has watched. I get One Piece is ending relatively soon but dam they are literally putting the middle finger to the show and the fans that made them who they are today. I personally believe Toriyama has another Super arc wrriten somewhere (maybe even more than one) Toyotarou confirmed that Toriyama wrote the Super Hero epilogue in the manga with all the fights on Beerus' planet, and even did corrections on the last chapter. That means we were coming to the end of Super Hero regardless his death, and naturally they should have at least drafted or been working on the next arc before he died. I'll be really suprised if Daima is Toriyama's final story for Dragonball

5v5 was in Budokai tenkaichi 3 and Raging Blast 2, it's not gonna be 10 characters on screen. Online is only 1v1 but this is confirmation of teams up to 5 but it's still 1v1.
The 5 character's isnt new. Tenkaichi 3 had it, and you picked 5 characters to play as (that dont share health bars) and you could swap between all 5 characters depending on what you wanted This was also the only way to fuse dueing battle, your 2 characters healths combine, and you lose 1 of the slots.
It’s most likely not gonna be a free for all rumble. It’ll be just like how it was on the PS2 where you pick 5 and can switch them out mid battle. Maybe they’ll take the FighterZ approach and have different people control a different character when you switch but a free for all is not happening. That’s what xenoverse is for
I’ll watch Daima but I know I won’t like it as much as DBZ or Super. I’ll be watching it purely because it’s new Dragon Ball content. If I like it, cool. But I’m really not that interested in the idea of it. Was hoping Super would continue and we’d get to see Universe 6’s Saiyans some more and to see their home planet. I want to see Moro and Granolah arcs adapted to the anime and Broly training with the boys. I don’t see it ever coming back at this point. I’m sure we will get some more movies at some point cause Toei wants to cash some checks but the hopes of it being good are low.

yeah but a gamemode of everyone on the field at the same time would be incredibly fun with friends. also tenkaichi tag team did something like that. 2v2, everyone on the field. it can work as its own gamemode or different parts of story mode and online.
I heard somewhere that the release date is October 1st, but in my opinion, I think that the reason that there are no confirmed release dates for any of these things because Sasuke might be trying to liquidate some assets to condense everything together and combine his father's funds. If he is going to take over, there is a legal liquidation process that usually has to happen where the Executor of the Estate, which is Sasuke now, has to liquidate everything into 1 account and then from that account comes distribution and I think everything might be on hold until the liquidation and distribution process is finalized, which seems to be expected by the end of the year. I could be wrong, but that seems like the most likely reason why the manga is on hiatus and why nothing has a concrete release date.
Man, for this to be the year of Dragon Ball it's been somewhat lackluster. Toriyama-Sensei is gone (R.I.P.), manga is still on hiatus cause of the latter, and we have more bad advertising of a Dragon Ball project. I'm excited for Daima still regardless, but come on Dragon room, get it together.

I don’t understand why Toei doesn’t realize how popular Dragon Ball is. They seem to think One Piece is the most popular when Dragon Ball makes more money than every manga franchise.
Money is not the main motivator behind japanese people that work in the cultural field. Unlike what we do in the west, by milking something to death, Japanese are not fond of dishing out their cultural defining products without making sure that it's somehow fresh. Sure money is important but it's not above everything for the Japanese.

It's supposed to be simple and digestable for younger crowds, if they have to choose between a shiny new form or plot consistency, they'll always pick the shiny new form. We, the adult fans, are the ones that demand more consistency and complexity, but we're not the target. And look at it this way, would you rather Piccolo and Gohan had stayed irrelevant, instead of getting their new boosts, for writing and consistency's convenience?
I think they should do 2 more arcs (after Daima) and finish Dragon Ball Super up and move unto a NEW series after Z so that means if "Black Frieza" is the last arc we should get 1 more arc before that, what that might be I have no idea. I personally would like them to "canon-ize" Android 21 in some way as a tragic antagonist while the main Z fighters are off-world have Android 17, Android 18, Krillin, Bulma, Hedo, Buu team-up to somehow stop her, this arc could also canon-ize SUPER 17 as Android 17 would initially fail at stopping her and turn to Bulma & Dr. Hedo for a "upgrade" that allows him to power up into SUPER 17 or just changes his base form entirely. Having Android 17 save the planet (after saving the universe) would be a really interesting story. This would also once again put Android 17 into the S-Tier power ranking with Gohan, Broly, Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo. THEN you move unto the final Black Frieza arc and I got some crazy fandom ideas for that too. It will probably never happen but it's fun to think about!

Dragon ball sells more, the yearly data chart released in japan shows that. Trust me one piece isnt getting as much special treatment as you think. For one, one piece doesnt have any games worth mentioning, they dont get big films like dragon ball does. We literally have daima, the manga, and 2 new video games releasing. Which are sparking zero and the new card game replacing dragon ball heroes.

I personally believe Toriyama has another Super arc wrriten somewhere (maybe even more than one)
Toyotarou confirmed that Toriyama wrote the Super Hero epilogue in the manga with all the fights on Beerus' planet, and even did corrections on the last chapter. That means we were coming to the end of Super Hero regardless his death, and naturally they should have at least drafted or been working on the next arc before he died.
I'll be really suprised if Daima is Toriyama's final story for Dragonball
Maybe not drafts but maybe Toriyama has notes which exist, or at the very least some vague comments/ideas he mentioned to Toyotaro which can be fleshed out.
My bet is a final completed or nearly complete movie script based on his being done with super hero script by early 2021.
I believe it was said that Toriyama has notes all the way to the end of the Black Frieza arc.
Even an outline off a future arc would be a massive win for us.

It’s the 40th anniversary of Dragon Ball and there is hardly any promotion, but Toei started promoting the 25th anniversary of One Piece. We know where their priorities are at. Don’t be surprised ya’ll.
The priority is to put the pieces together carefully and respectfully for the legacy of an industry giant.

Do we know for sure the 5v5 mode is multiple people on each team? Because TENKAICHI 3 already had a 5v5 mode where one player just picks a team of 5 to cycle through in 1v1 fights so I assume it’s the same thing unless confirmed

5v5 was in Budokai tenkaichi 3 and Raging Blast 2, it's not gonna be 10 characters on screen. Online is only 1v1 but this is confirmation of teams up to 5 but it's still 1v1.
The 5 character's isnt new.
Tenkaichi 3 had it, and you picked 5 characters to play as (that dont share health bars) and you could swap between all 5 characters depending on what you wanted
This was also the only way to fuse dueing battle, your 2 characters healths combine, and you lose 1 of the slots.

It’s most likely not gonna be a free for all rumble. It’ll be just like how it was on the PS2 where you pick 5 and can switch them out mid battle. Maybe they’ll take the FighterZ approach and have different people control a different character when you switch but a free for all is not happening. That’s what xenoverse is for
I’ll watch Daima but I know I won’t like it as much as DBZ or Super. I’ll be watching it purely because it’s new Dragon Ball content. If I like it, cool. But I’m really not that interested in the idea of it. Was hoping Super would continue and we’d get to see Universe 6’s Saiyans some more and to see their home planet. I want to see Moro and Granolah arcs adapted to the anime and Broly training with the boys. I don’t see it ever coming back at this point. I’m sure we will get some more movies at some point cause Toei wants to cash some checks but the hopes of it being good are low.

yeah but a gamemode of everyone on the field at the same time would be incredibly fun with friends. also tenkaichi tag team did something like that. 2v2, everyone on the field. it can work as its own gamemode or different parts of story mode and online.

I heard somewhere that the release date is October 1st, but in my opinion, I think that the reason that there are no confirmed release dates for any of these things because Sasuke might be trying to liquidate some assets to condense everything together and combine his father's funds. If he is going to take over, there is a legal liquidation process that usually has to happen where the Executor of the Estate, which is Sasuke now, has to liquidate everything into 1 account and then from that account comes distribution and I think everything might be on hold until the liquidation and distribution process is finalized, which seems to be expected by the end of the year. I could be wrong, but that seems like the most likely reason why the manga is on hiatus and why nothing has a concrete release date.

Man, for this to be the year of Dragon Ball it's been somewhat lackluster. Toriyama-Sensei is gone (R.I.P.), manga is still on hiatus cause of the latter, and we have more bad advertising of a Dragon Ball project. I'm excited for Daima still regardless, but come on Dragon room, get it together.

I don’t understand why Toei doesn’t realize how popular Dragon Ball is. They seem to think One Piece is the most popular when Dragon Ball makes more money than every manga franchise.
Money is not the main motivator behind japanese people that work in the cultural field. Unlike what we do in the west, by milking something to death, Japanese are not fond of dishing out their cultural defining products without making sure that it's somehow fresh. Sure money is important but it's not above everything for the Japanese.

@@j04370859 Dragon Ball, particularly the anime, is directed at Japanese children up to pre-teen. A deep and complex writing is not the highest priority. It's supposed to be simple and digestable for younger crowds, if they have to choose between a shiny new form or plot consistency, they'll always pick the shiny new form.
We, the adult fans, are the ones that demand more consistency and complexity, but we're not the target.
And look at it this way, would you rather Piccolo and Gohan had stayed irrelevant, instead of getting their new boosts, for writing and consistency's convenience?

I think they should do 2 more arcs (after Daima) and finish Dragon Ball Super up and move unto a NEW series after Z so that means if "Black Frieza" is the last arc we should get 1 more arc before that, what that might be I have no idea. I personally would like them to "canon-ize" Android 21 in some way as a tragic antagonist while the main Z fighters are off-world have Android 17, Android 18, Krillin, Bulma, Hedo, Buu team-up to somehow stop her, this arc could also canon-ize SUPER 17 as Android 17 would initially fail at stopping her and turn to Bulma & Dr. Hedo for a "upgrade" that allows him to power up into SUPER 17 or just changes his base form entirely. Having Android 17 save the planet (after saving the universe) would be a really interesting story. This would also once again put Android 17 into the S-Tier power ranking with Gohan, Broly, Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo. THEN you move unto the final Black Frieza arc and I got some crazy fandom ideas for that too. It will probably never happen but it's fun to think about!
