Everything about this was a disaster. Why was this done in the middle of the night at a motel? The cops looked poorly trained and their body behavior indicates this. The cops didn't know who were inside. The 2 people they meet they weren't even expecting to be there and didn't know who they were.
The cop with the dog shouldn't have been the one breaching the door. they also didn't even bother to check the other rooms to see if they were clear and didn't even communicate to each other at any point after entering. This level of incompetence is frightening and the ending result clearly shows the outcome of such incompetence.
The cops should definitely be facing manslaughter charges for this. Seems more like a negligent discharge than anything else and now a man is dead because of it.

Not necessarily true, they don’t have a search warrant, but they do have an arrest warrant. Given that this is the subject’s residence and that the first thing they asked was where the wanted man is. They are clearly trying to identify where the suspect is for apprehension. They Knocked and announced, and said we are looking for this guy, is he here. They don’t have to show a warrant to the occupants because the warrant doesn’t pertain to them, same for a search warrant. You show the homeowner and thats that. That is why they were removed and detained so they could clear the residence out.
